My wife and I have been to Benidorm several times and really enjoyed it. By the way, this video is brilliant and I appreciate all the effort you have put in making it, well done sir
I actually live in Benidorm, as a Norwegian idiot. Things been kinda rough during the pandemic, but I wouldn't trade anything for all the weirdos and nice people I get to interact with. They are all lovely in their own ways. It is fun to live in Benidorm. It is so accepting and tolerant. Love it.
My parents used to holiday here several times a year for a month or so each time until they were 90. I've never been so your video shows me what they saw and did.
Last time I was in Benidorm was in the early 60’s when I went camping. No tall buildings - miles of beach and the old town. I cant believe how much it has changed! On the other hand, when I visited it was a long time ago when I was 18 years old. LOVE the hotel you chose, and that room with views, and the hot tub and even more views, were amazing! Viva Espana!
@@deezrfc I am sure they would have preserved the old town, but I remember beaches that stretched for miles, and there were no high rise buildings cheek by jowl along that the sea side.
The water in the beach smells! We were there last August this year. Nope Benidprm has too many skyscrapers and it is very crowded.. Don't like it. Better in Alte, Albir, Calpe.
So true ! Modern tourism ruins EVERYTHING ! I will just be happy if the "ruins of the skyscrapers" will be finally blasted. . . (in 25 years from now ?)
I used to work in Benidorm as a DJ back 76 and 81 and your video was very nostalgic. 1976 was a heat wave in the UK but rained forever on the Costa Blanka with many people seeking early flights home. I was amazed to see the old water ski still there. Back in the winter of 1975 it was damaged and all the underwater weights had been dislodged and as I had diving experience I was employed to relocate and replace them, good fun for a 26 year old. Pleased to see the Western is still going, great place for the workers to meet up then off to Tramps to finish the evening.
It is a dream of mine to one day move to Spain (Benidorm). Finally gone from Belgium, fingers crossed that it will work one day. I was there once for 2 weeks about 17 years ago, had a very nice time in Benidorm.
Im on a Walk with me Tim Tour sinnce a month and i can't get enough of your amazing videos. Very informative, love the commentary, quality and the places u visit are just Awesome. Keep up the great work Tim& Thank you
Love Benidorm. When I was a kid my parents had a villa in Moraira and I think it’s about 30-35 mins drive to Benidorm. Very fond memories of aqualandia. Calpi is nice too.
Last time I went to Benidorm was 1977 (first honeymoon). Wow, what a transformation, so glad you didn’t give ‘sticky Vicky’ a plug! Thanks for highlighting the ‘up-market’ side of the old town which looks great; we will definitely be giving it a look soon! 👍👍👍
We go to Benidorm twice a year. After going in 1988 I promised myself I would never go back because it would never be as good if i went again. My mate persueded me to finally go again in 2018, 30 years to the day after our 1st visit. Within an hour I was hooked and now cant get enough of the place. Anyone who has never been is really missing out. there is something for everyone, as long as you go with an open mind you will have a great time. We have made some great friends over there now and we are always welcomed when we get there. One of the waitresses drove us up to the cross and even offered us a lift to the airport when we were struggling to get a transfer. I have a long 11 weeks to wait until we go again
Been to Benidorm a lot over the years, there really is something for every age group . Lots of lovely local restaurants just a little bit back from the sea front , they usually are cheaper and very tasty 😊.
I am glad that I had the opportunity to visit Benidorm. I will definately come to Benidorm soon. Can't get enough of the crystal blue water and blue skies. Thanks for sharing Tim.
I also used to holiday in Benidorm throughout the 1980's. It has changed a lot since then. I remember there used to be a Lemon express tour up through the mountains. On a old yellow steam train with open carriages they served cheap wine and lemon juice on the train and made loads of stops to get off and look round old villages.

Thanks for your Benidorm reviews. We've been going to Benidorm regularly for the last 10 years and since the pandemic lockdowns we are arriving next weekend for two weeks at the newly referbished Ambassador Playa II, adjacent to the also new fully rebuilt Western Saloon. We are also planning to book for 28 nights for the winter season sometime from November to March. Benidorm has everything for everyone and on the whole is flat making walking pleasurable. The local bus service is very good costing only a one off €1.55 each or buy a Euro loaded bus pass making it slightly cheaper per trip. The good weather (normally) is also a big attraction 😎

Another bit of unrequested trivia: the backstreet that Brits have recently renamed as 'tapas alley' has always been informally known by locals as _el callejón de los vascos_ or 'Basques alley' because of the disproportionately high number of both Basque bars and patrons there. And the pedestrian street where it ends - the one that takes you from Levante to the Elche park in Poniente beach - is popularly known as _calle del coño_ or 'c*nt street', which probably deserves an explanation too: In Spain, c*nt is a very mild swear word used in almost every sentence as an multiuse interjection. It's not used directed at someone but something you throw in the air; it's like sh*t or f*ck when used impersonally, but milder still. In this case, 'c*nt street' refers to the amazingly high possibility that Spanish tourists have of unexpectedly encountering a neighbour/friend/colleague/relative from their town of origin when walking along that street. As improbable as it sounds, it always happens, and you'd typically greet each other by saying _Coño, que haces aquí?_ or 'hey, what are you doing here?'.
Benidorm is amazing for disable access I took my partner who is a double leg amputee they have the mobile bikes with big wheels that they took him in the sea we need to up the anti and follow in Benidorm footsteps it’s shocking how little facilities there are for disable people ☹️
Love it. I do the fridge magnet thing too! 😂. I’m going to visit the cross next time. We were in a large group so it was hard to fit everything in and we were only there for 4 days. Love Benidorm. Nice vid. Thanks.
I am disabled and getting around on holiday. Benidorm is the best for getting around outside of the hotel. Mobility scooter is a godsend to me. Wish you could give us more information on your videos on disabled access to the places you visit. Thanhs really enjoy going with you from the comfort of my sofa.
I’m a Benidorm veteran, been about 40 times over the years, was here end of March, I wish you had ventured out on the strip after dark, those bouncers are absolute animals they work in packs, some of the kickings I witnessed were beyond brutal.
@@thegoldendog7991depends on the part of Benidorm. The New town is very British but the old town is very Spanish. That’s why I love it something for everyone.
Hi Tim. Really enjoyed your tour if Benidorm. It looks quiet nice and different from England. No I've never been but may consider it in the future thanks to you.
I got to go to Benidorm with my Spanish cousins in 2019, their mother owns an apartment there so they visit basically every summer. We never really ventured down past the old town to where the bars are (but we were like 15 at the time). Most of the places we went to were outside of Benidorm, we went to a vintage market, a water park and a really nice town on a hill (I can’t remember what it was called but it was painted white and had a church at the top). In Benidorm we rented kayaks and went snorkelling and we also rented a peddle boat with a slide on it. There was also this cool floating platform that you had to swim out to, it had lots of trampolines and diving board thing’s on it.
Hi there, just found your travels, thank you for taking me with, 70 this year and have ALWAYS wanted to visit Spain but living in South Africa makes it impossible monetary wise. Very happy to travel with you Tim at least I can live it through you. My hubby isn't to keen on travels anyway so your my perfect solution. Carol from Port Elizabeth
Bloody love Benidorm. First went in 2012 with my husband, mum, stepdad and granny and granda but we stayed in the Avenida in the old town so never saw much of the new town. In 2013 I then went with my mum for her hen do and stayed in the Rincon area but spent a lot of time in the new town and Cafe B 😂 and I just fell in love. Me and my husband both had our 30th in Benidorm and our mini-moon and honeymoon the following year. Me and my mum have booked to go back in December to stay in the Rosamar for our 23rd visit. (Only twice have we stayed in a hotel we have been to before) we have also stayed every month apart from July and August as I don’t do heat well 😂 December has glorious weather.
I must give this place a go one day, we’ve always talked about trying Benidorm but never got there, so it looks like a trip is on the cards one day, cheers Tim for sharing this, and yet another great video 👍👍👍😎
Hello Tim hope you are doing well. We are off to benidorm for the 3rd time. There is so much to see so we really appreciate the information you have provided. Great video and very helpful 👍 love the balcony the views are spectacular ❤
Can't believe I have never been. I was always put off by its somewhat "tacky" reputation, like Blackpool in spain (never been to Blackpool either) but Benidorm is starting to win me over after seeing that Bargain loving brits in the sun show. Were considering booking Benidorm this winter to escape our crappy uk weather. Thanks for this Tim, I really enjoyed this insight and you portrayed the city in a very positive way, which is great and boy do those beaches look fabulous.
I had the same feeling towards Benidorm until I tried it for the first time in 2018 and it was really enjoyable, the best bit about it is you can go to the party area (The new Town) Or go to the much more chilled pleasant atmosphere are of The Old Town. You can also walk along the Old Town beach to La Cala Finestrat Beach which has a nice small beach in a bay and full of nice bars and Cafes too! I rarely into the New town as it can be quite full on but it is great the nontheless!
I worked in Benidorm in the early 90s and a chap I know opened the first shop with 15 mobility scooters and within 3 months had 75 and he was opening another shop, a lot of the young kids rent them to go on pub crawls (no license and the police don't normally nick you for drunk driving), they were then as cheap as chips to hire but not the best quality
For Spanish people Benidorm is almost a touristy attraction. With this we become to leave free other places for our vacations. Enjoy Benidorm and find the rings.
Great video Tim! - I was last there in June/July 08 and it's all come flooding back! I was also there in 1981 as a kid and the hotel was immediately shut down with Legionnaires disease straight afterwards! It's still there I saw - Hotel Rio Park up near the bullring.
Benidorm is beautiful. I went there back in the end of the 70s to the beginning of the 80s. Stayed in an apartment near to the Lavanty beach. We could walk across the road to get onto the beach from your apartment. It didn't take long to walk to the old town centre either. each
Stayed in Alicante last month and took the tram to Benidorm for a wee day trip just to see what it’s like. Glad I went even though the weather wasn’t great but didn’t see enough to tempt me back for a stay. Be warned the walk from the beach to the tram station is like climbing a mountain! Hope you pop into Alicante city and make a video an your way back to the airport as it’s a nice place.
I’d definitely go to Benidorm, and I loved watching the series Benidorm ,omg it was hilarious, nice to see all the peeps out exploring, looks like u have a great holiday.thanks for taking us with u,.awesome.
Coming to Benidorm in March, lst time since early 60s. Looks as though it has everything an 87 year old needs...a bit of a walk, a bit of a sit, people watching, but what of public transport?
Went to Benidorm for my Honeymoon in 2011,loved every minute of it.The old town was very interesting and the bars along the main beach is where we spent most of our time.👍unless we were in our room 😉.
Great video ..I've been benidorm nearly 40 times and even though I've never used them, I never knew that about those cash machines ..you learn something new every day I suppose 👍👍
Up until a few years ago, electric scooters and electric bikes were easy to hire and ride around the beachfront. I think they clamped down and only hire the mobility scooters to people who say they have a disability. We really enjoy visiting there for the cheap "Skegness in the sun" experience. I think I've been there about 4 times. For the best exchange rates, withdraw money in Euros and use your card-issuer's exchange rate.
Your photography skills are great Tim, you record in a very similar manner to me when I go on holiday. Closest I've been to a place like Benidorm was sunny beach in Bulgaria. I prefer quiet off the beaten track to an extent!!
@@WalkWithMeTim Well it is very commercialised but I was staying at a Riu hotel with its own beach with my family (quiter area) and I walked it there on the beach, it's ok if you like all the commercialism.
One thing about this place is the fish, they bite. Got bitten 3 times on Levante beach and that hidden one in the 7 days we were there. That’s one reason why I would not choose to go again. Saw quite a few people come out of the sea with bloodied legs, weren’t nice to see
Tim great video l love Benidorm. There is a great little tapas bar on the Levante beach next to the Burger King, La Rosita, last time l went it was 2.50 for a wine and a tapa!
We just spent a week between Benidorm and Alicante, just up from Campello. We visited Benidorm to go to the dolphin and sealion park (kinda depressing watching dolphins in a giant bath tub up a mountain, but we take our Mums where they want to go haha), and then into the town after. I have to say, it was pretty much everything I expected it to be - maybe worse haha - but I appreciate that everyones holiday needs and wants are different. Definitely appreciated the cheap prices! We went to escape the union jacks and drunken people across the 12th of July here in NI, so it was definitely not our bag.
Just a point regarding the hire of mobility scooters, the law changed during 2019/2020 and now they can only be rented by over 55’s or on proof of disability we always hire from Amigo 24 who are pretty good and play by the rules but there are others who don’t. The more dangerous thing now are the electric scooters that bomb around the sea front. Scooter hire is around €7 a day or €50 a week but prices do vary. And a final pointer is to make sure where you are staying has facilities for parking and charging facilities as you will need them.
i'm from Belgium and i've visited Benidorm in the 80ies, 90 ies and recently in 2016 en 2018. in 2016 we've stayed in the Canfali hotel 2stars** and in 2018 in the same Canfali hotel 4stars**** . What a difference! A great place to stay. Old Town is our favourite area. Unfortunately all stories about drunk tourists, hen and bachelor parties in some areas are true. I like your videos Tim, but it would be nice to see the filming date on the screen to get an idea of why or not places seem busy or quiet. Because the actual upload date might be very different. Also, some evening clips to see the difference between day and night activity just an idea. Keep up the good work I'm sure these help people choosing a holiday.

It was probably Altea you visited, very pretty place.
It's fantastic and it also helps having a mother-in-law living in El Campello really looking forward to this later .
Hope it doesn't dissapoint
Every time I see those concrete monoliths along the coast I think of the collapsing ones in the film 'Inception'.
Carol from Port Elizabeth
thanks carol! hope you enjoy the travels
Thanks H man you should before I went I didn't like it .. but once you go it's not that bad
Love the old Benidorm town
Wonderful walk Tim. The views were amazing . A very pretty place . Hope you had fun and the rain didn’t last too long. Thanks Tim👏🏻☀️
Only a day thankfully
@@WalkWithMeTim just wonderful Tim.. you and Gaby have a great day☀️
Lovely tourist information and walkabout tim
😉
“Why walk when you can glide?” Madge Harvey.
Loved watching this video. So informative. 🙂

Got my first ever trip to benidorm booked for mid June. Booked a long weekend to get a feel for it
Have fun
We stayed at the Bali International a few years back. There's a fantastic Motorcycle museum on the way to Guadalest.
Excellent viewing 1st class professional production memories of many visits from my 1st holiday in 1978 the resort has changed so much well done👍🎬
Wow I bet john
I worked in Benidorm in the early 90s and a chap I know opened the first shop with 15 mobility scooters and within 3 months had 75 and he was opening another shop, a lot of the young kids rent them to go on pub crawls (no license and the police don't normally nick you for drunk driving), they were then as cheap as chips to hire but not the best quality
Absolutely love Benidorm we missed seeing you by one day! Really enjoyed watching this on catch up today.
You are welcome
For Spanish people Benidorm is almost a touristy attraction. With this we become to leave free other places for our vacations.
Enjoy Benidorm and find the rings.
Going Benidorm for the first time in 3 weeks. Looks great! 🍺🍺🍺🔥🔥😎😎
Have fun
Thanks our Tim tonights vidio , and viewers, enjoyed, look forward to upcoming vidios in the week, cheers our Tim
Live Wednesday 🤗
@@WalkWithMeTim thanks Tim , if you would like me extra for modding team ,am happy to ,and proad to do ,tim
Great video Tim! - I was last there in June/July 08 and it's all come flooding back! I was also there in 1981 as a kid and the hotel was immediately shut down with Legionnaires disease straight afterwards! It's still there I saw - Hotel Rio Park up near the bullring.
Omg
Benidorm is beautiful. I went there back in the end of the 70s to the beginning of the 80s. Stayed in an apartment near to the Lavanty beach. We could walk across the road to get onto the beach from your apartment. It didn't take long to walk to the old town centre either.
each
Been to benidorm about 10 times the last holiday was 2019 but I will return hopefully next year miss benidorm big time can't wait to next year
Thanks tim your video this week linked me too this one enjoyed thank you happy travels
Awesome, thank you!
Booked up for November and February 😊from Glasgow 😎🇬🇧
I remember that book market on the beach. Lot's of good books for a euro. I think Juan and Maria used to run it. ty 4 vid
I'll bare that in mind
Beautiful place! Beaches are clean sea is crystal clear
Yes they are!
I’d definitely go to Benidorm, and I loved watching the series Benidorm ,omg it was hilarious, nice to see all the peeps out exploring, looks like u have a great holiday.thanks for taking us with u,.awesome.
Lol I was there for 2 days 😅
Coming to Benidorm in March, lst time since early 60s.
Looks as though it has everything an 87 year old needs...a bit of a walk, a bit of a sit, people watching, but what of public transport?
Went to Benidorm for my Honeymoon in 2011,loved every minute of it.The old town was very interesting and the bars along the main beach is where we spent most of our time.👍unless we were in our room 😉.
Old Town is best
why would you want to spend any time in your room?😉
No
Very Nice video! Good job! All these years going to Benidorm and I haven't yet visited the cross. Nex time I will try to visit it.
You should!
Great video ..I've been benidorm nearly 40 times and even though I've never used them, I never knew that about those cash machines ..you learn something new every day I suppose 👍👍
Agree
Up until a few years ago, electric scooters and electric bikes were easy to hire and ride around the beachfront. I think they clamped down and only hire the mobility scooters to people who say they have a disability. We really enjoy visiting there for the cheap "Skegness in the sun" experience. I think I've been there about 4 times. For the best exchange rates, withdraw money in Euros and use your card-issuer's exchange rate.
Never heard of it being called skegness in the sun 🌞 lol
Your photography skills are great Tim, you record in a very similar manner to me when I go on holiday. Closest I've been to a place like Benidorm was sunny beach in Bulgaria. I prefer quiet off the beaten track to an extent!!
I hear that's nice?
@@WalkWithMeTim Well it is very commercialised but I was staying at a Riu hotel with its own beach with my family (quiter area) and I walked it there on the beach, it's ok if you like all the commercialism.
I loved Bulgaria
One thing about this place is the fish, they bite. Got bitten 3 times on Levante beach and that hidden one in the 7 days we were there. That’s one reason why I would not choose to go again. Saw quite a few people come out of the sea with bloodied legs, weren’t nice to see
What ...omg
Tim great video l love Benidorm. There is a great little tapas bar on the Levante beach next to the Burger King, La Rosita, last time l went it was 2.50 for a wine and a tapa!
I missed that
We just spent a week between Benidorm and Alicante, just up from Campello.
Hello Tim, another awesome video, what a great place to visit, when its hot and sunshine is out lol,so much to see there.
When it rains its not as nice
This video is put together well... can't wait to visit Benidorm! Thank you for sharing!
Any time!
Another great video Tim. Many thanks for sharing this with us. 👍
You are welcome
Just a point regarding the hire of mobility scooters, the law changed during 2019/2020 and now they can only be rented by over 55’s or on proof of disability we always hire from Amigo 24 who are pretty good and play by the rules but there are others who don’t. The more dangerous thing now are the electric scooters that bomb around the sea front. Scooter hire is around €7 a day or €50 a week but prices do vary. And a final pointer is to make sure where you are staying has facilities for parking and charging facilities as you will need them.
thanks for the info Brian
i'm from Belgium and i've visited Benidorm in the 80ies, 90 ies and recently in 2016 en 2018. in 2016 we've stayed in the Canfali hotel 2stars** and in 2018 in the same Canfali hotel 4stars**** . What a difference! A great place to stay. Old Town is our favourite area. Unfortunately all stories about drunk tourists, hen and bachelor parties in some areas are true. Thanks for your 'Walk with me' video/blogs...
thanks for watching , you are welcome
I’m going to Benidorm for my stag next year. Can’t wait! 😝
have fun
There is a theme park just outside the town too with some great rides if you want a change from the beach.
Brilliant Vid Tim.. I'm Great Yarmouth lad myself... but live way out in Malaysia nowadays.. me and the wife love your vids.. super good when wanna plan a trip to Europe 👍👍👍🙏 hope to see you out this way one day.. would be great to show ya about KL!
i like how your very informative about the places you show us, and how you know either the history or even where the best cuppa is... terrific. even though i cant go to any of these, i still enjoy your vids,
That means alot thank you
Ohhh yesss (for the fans of the series)
Tim; have you considered visiting/covering Cascais and Sintra via Lisbon as one of your V-logs? Perfect fit with a wonderful (and cheap) train journey linking the two! 👍
Nope I haven't but will think about it
Thanks Tim great views enjoyed that with my cuppa look forward to the next Yvonne 😊
Thanks yvonne
Great video Tim, I love Benidorm, only visited once last year but got hooked!
That's what happens lol
My favourite holiday destination. I've been 6 times
Great video, I don’t think this would be my cup of tea at all but I can see the attraction for some.
I went to benidorm in the October half term it was really good
I was in Benidorm in November just gone. Went in that tapas bar in the old town when the thunderstorm came, then about an hour later sun came out and 25c Plus Thanks for the content Tim.
you are welcome
I like your videos Tim, but it would be nice to see the filming date on the screen to get an idea of why or not places seem busy or quiet. Because the actual upload date might be very different. Also, some evening clips to see the difference between day and night activity just an idea. Keep up the good work I'm sure these help people choosing a holiday.
thanks for the feedback I always film a video and goes up after a week after filming
Lovely video thanks for showing us around Tim! The beaches & blue crystal water look beautiful. I’ve only seen Benidorm on the tv series (which I love, the characters are comedy genius!) but not visited myself. After seeing your tour I’d definitely like to go & explore - so much more to it than what you’d expect. Would make a great trip for a long weekend getaway!
agree you should
Just go! It make it longer than a weekend, you’ll be glad you did.
