Structured hats can sometimes be a pain to press on a standard heat press. But even without an industry standard on the curved crown of such hats, the Stahls' Hotronix 360 IQ hat press has been readily designed to work with virtually any adult sized hat no matter how they're structured. In this video, Jared details the simplicity of pressing a structured hat on a Hotronix hat press; no heat-resistant padding required and without any crease imprints!

Still leaving press marks on the brim and at the sides. You are right about different manufacturers and different sizes but you will still need to underlay the cap in some areas . I have been pressing caps for over 15 years and I have had about 5 presses including a hotronix. I still have 3 presses and have to work out which machine and platen works best for the cap every time. There are no easy fixes.

I have the Ricoma hat press. Been ruining a lot of hats trying to figure out the best ways to press 5 and 6 panel structured hats. Still new to this, but definitely want to figure it out.

@@TimothyAllenMadisonThere is a lot of trial and error but get some heat proof foam from one of your suppliers and you can tape that to areas to minimise marks from the press, also the 3mm silicone sheets are good as well. Everytime I do a new job I have to setup again for the different curve of the hat or size of the brim.
I have been a printer for 42 years and was initialliy trained in letterpress so I am used to trying different things in order to get the result you want.
Always order 3 or 4 extra hats to setup on, charge it to the customer as part of the setup. You will generally need them.

@@iankearns774 Thank you. I very much appreciate you sharing your experience and giving advice based on that experience. I am already looking into some heat resistant foam.

@@TimothyAllenMadison Look into the 3mm thick silicone mats. They are translucent greyish in colour and come in sheets of about a metre by 1/2 metre from memory.
About $30 here in Australia but they are very useful.

What about the gap? The fusion doesn’t press the vinyl all the way in in a structured hat…

Hi Eddie! You may use the foam pads it comes with to create an even surface.

@@HeatPressNation I’ve tried the foam and it doesn’t press all the way down, I really don’t know what’s going on. Also printable HTV, my settings on a heat press is 260, 7sec, med pressure what would be the settings on this kind of material? In some videos I hear 45sec press time😵‍💫😵‍💫
