    I've had mine for about six months now. This baby is a game changer. Struggling to set the hat on the plate and eliminating the empty bubble space between the hat and the plate is a thing of the past. It's a truly hands free press. This is an unbelievably well kept secret. Awesome machine!!!

    My patches don't come off, even when I used the Vevor manual hat press. I have a Hotronix now. Watch a couple of videos from Stahls on pressing hats, I saw a number of things you did/didn't do that would affect how well the patch sticks. Glad you got to hear from me again!

    Hi Matt. If they are JDS patches, I thought I remembered reading that they were hand wash only. Glad I got to see you again! JohnnyF

    Hi Matt, great to see you again! I used to do sublimation. 12 secs does not seem long enough at all. That patch is pretty thick. It softened the glue, but not enough to transfer and meld with the hat. Try preheating the hat, then quickly place the patch and press. Maybe 18-20 secs to start? Guessing it will end up closer to 30.

    I have the original version of the vevor press I happy with it so far. Much like yourself not gonna lay out $1800 just yet. I’ve never sent a leather patch hat through the dishwasher but I have others so interested to see how it works out. Great video!

    Here's an suggestion, is it possible to use 2 pieces 3/4" wood, engrave one piece and then laminate the 2 pieces to make one board

    It was suggested to me to use E6000 on the leatherette patches small line around the edges and some in the center then smooth it towards the middle., the adhesive is not the best on the leatherette. I am just starting with the leather and hats.

    Great vid, been looking for someone to demo. BTW, you have to wait at least 24 hours before washing any garment you press. That's also what you should always tell your customers. Respect.😁

      Thanks. I need to do an update video because if you use 300 and 30 seconds you can wash it and will not fall off.

    The curves not matching is most likely correct. With the thickness of the hat and the leather patch, everything should be matched up and even. The more you separate the plates in the closed position, the more you change the difference in radius of the curve. So they most likely designed the plates for the best fit with a standard hat and patch. Also love the videos and thanks for the entertainment.

  • @firefighter3b
    @firefighter3b Рік тому +2

    Matt! Did you check the radii on the other bases? See if they the match radius? Worse- better?

    One of the things you need to do when pressing patches on hats is fold out the sweat band! Having the sweat band in its normal spot will cause uneven pressure.

      Yeah I know. It wasn’t going to work because of the embroidering I figured anyways once I get my new hats, I’ll do more testing. Thanks

    I've noticed in other videos that the main complaint with these type of presses is that it leaves a line on the hat. Like it singes or burns the fabric. I'd be curious to know if this one does that.

    the clunking seemed to go away when you put the hat in the press. also, those tiny gaps at the ends seem to be filled up by the hat.

    • @laserengravingwithmatt

    Sorry guys but the vevor machine I bought is a total piece of crap! Heat temperature was going all over the place and not constant at all. Ruined several hats before I checked the temperature with a temp gun. Temp would rise and fall by 35 to 40 degrees the whole time it was on. I was not aware of it until I ruined a few hats. Tech support said that was normal. That was my answer and solution. Awful way to lose money. Threw it in the trash. They would not honor my warranty. Done. Best be careful when buying this machine or at least check it out before your 30 days runs out.

    • @laserengravingwithmatt
      @laserengravingwithmatt  4 місяці тому +1

      Wow that is a big temperature difference. You are the second person that had said that. I have run 500 plus hats through mine and still going strong. I will definitely look at some other brands if the vevor one is not putting out quality ones.

    • @williehazel7284
      @williehazel7284 4 місяці тому +1

      @@laserengravingwithmatt Yeah, I just dealt with this yesterday and this is what the vevor guys told me. I know I did not pump a whole lot of money into this heat press but it sure did not turn out the way I had hoped for. Now I have to lick my wounds and get another hat heat press for a decent price that will work and will be supported by a company that will help us and not turn on us. Shame on Vevor. All I can say. Buyers beware. After you get to that 30 day point, you are on your own.
