How are shopping addicts created? How does marketing create buyers? What role does peer pressures play in our need to acquire more things? Why does consumption leave people feeling so empty and unfulfilled? I love your channel and I can’t wait to hear more from you. Longer vlogs sound very interesting and informative. ❤
Great suggestions Thankyou! ❤️
I love longer form videos. In general, I do not like or watch UA-cam shorts. One of my favorite creators that I just discovered only posts videos that are minimum thirty minutes. But he's funny and unique and the content is cleverly edited, so I keep watching.
I am on a No-Buy this year (going great so far lol), so I have drastically cut back on watching luxury or shopping content. Lots more Booktube, nutrition, cooking, comedy, and movie stuff instead -- along with channels like yours about mindfulness and nonconsumption.
So excited to hear about how your no buy goes xx
Deep dive on cultural differences in shopping Europe vs Australia vs USA etc.!
Yes to the longer, in depth topics! ❤
How to stop excessively shopping. When shopping fills a void but later causes stress as you have too much stuff and clutter. It is a temporary fix for a void you feel but doesn’t last. How to find something else that can take its place, to fill that void. And why this happens why do we shop. How to stop the cycle of trying not to shop you’re doing great for months, then you just have this horrible week, day, feel down, or see something so cute you must have it; you buy one thing then it snowballs just like around Christmas time. Also online shopping has not helped with this.
So many good suggestions Thankyou so much!!
I love the direction your channel has gone and I think you should devote however much time it takes per video to talk about it. I watch videos of all different lengths and I can see how some subjects might only be 20 minutes and some much longer. Do what makes you happy!
Thanks for your input ❤️
I would still like to see how you are going. Maybe a look into your closet to see how you are doing in your shopping addiction journey. Maybe start showing us how you style outfits that you love. I love getting inspiration from UA-cam. Thanks. 😊
Agree, I like longer videos, I think the trend of short videos is so prevalent that it's harder to find long videos when you don't want to search for the next one every 15, 20 minutes.
I would love to see a video on your closet now that you have stopped at excessively shopping. Also, I would like to see a video on during your shopping addiction. Did you go into credit card, personal loan, or any other forms of debt and if so, how did you overcome it.
Same I’m working harder on my editing this year and also I love having videos on in the background no matter what I’m doing!! Like hanging out with friends and I always hope that’s what my videos can be for people! ❤
I’m so glad I found your channel! I’m battling my shopping addiction and your videos help me so much!
Yessss for long form content!!! ❤ Can’t wait for it 👍🏼
Love longer videos and I enjoy your deep thinking videos so I think this will great!
The tactics companies use to get you to buy and how to avoid it. How to not fall for their narrative they are selling or the sneaky things they do to get you to buy. Like the luxury video you linked but with other focuses. One on jewelry, places like target, collectibles etc…I really loved the video you did titled “A neurologist take on shopping addiction” If you could go more in depth on the particular subject from that video that would be amazing! I’m very interested in the subjects that were discussed during that video so a deep dive on the different ones would be incredible and I think very helpful for people!
I love long videos in general. Honestly, listening to you relaxes me, and I genuinely like watching your content. 🥰I hope for some lighter lifestyle and travel videos, too. Sommer videos always help me to survive winter in Europe. 🤣
I miss your old videos on luxury and fashion. I may be the small population that wishes you still had those videos going but I understand your lifestyle change and if you no longer want to do that.
I’m loving your new direction. Hey I’m still kinda plastic in that I love shopping and make up and handbags BUT I’m so much more conscious of my shopping habits over the past few months. To clarify: for me shopping (alone or with my bff or sisters or nieces) is total me-time. I have a nice lunch, I look into shops and learn about a product or house, I pick out a few new pieces after looking at what my I need. It’s not just spend spend spend. Especially since I’m down to one credit card and I want to maintain a low balance.
I love the idea of longer deep dive videos. And you could always switch up to one week is 2 shorter videos and then the other week is a longer video. I do enjoy your longer, more personal ones. 💖 June
I still love shopping from time to time nothing plastic about that I don’t think ☺️ thanks for still being here ❤️
The Gen X in me loves a longer video 😂 it’s why I gravitate towards UA-cam so I would be here for longer videos for sure. ❤
HNY 🎉 Long videos would be lovely! I’ve started a No-buy January, taking baby steps to get out of my shopping addiction 🤞🏼
Happy new year!! 🥰 hope it’s going well for you!
I love your sense of style. I’d love to see videos of you going in depth re what makes or breaks an outfit for you e.g.
How you inject your personality into your outfits.
Special pieces within your wardrobe that you’ve held on to and your logic behind it.
What makes an outfit fun or timeless.
How you dress for different occasions
How you build your outfits from scratch
Capsule wardrobe essentials.
Go to brands for good basics.
Also some book recommendations or reviews would be amazing
I would love to see longer videos from you! I haven't been watching you for that long but I really enjoy your perspective on things and would like to see you go into more depth.
I've got the feeling that no-buys are "in" at the moment but I'm not sure if this is just what I see in my bubble or if there's a real shift in consumerism. Maybe this is something you could dive deeper into and comment on it?
I think the 'no buy' things are always 'in' at the beginning of the year. For some it is a bit more of an actual lifestyle thing, but this time of year, for many, its more of a resolution type thing that may (or more likely, may not) stick....
If it sparks creativity with you then do the in depth videos. If you’re engaged and passionate about the topics I’m sure most of will be here to watch 😊
Like you, I prefer longer videos. It’s rare for me to even bother with the short 1 minute(ish) videos. The in depth videos sound great, I’m excited to see what you do. But happy to see a few off the cuff videos here & there too. Also a few Flynnie cameos here & there would be nice for all the crazy dog ladies/ men watching.
Good to know! Thanks for letting me know ☺️
Would love to see a video talking about the “fantasy” that different luxury brands sell to consumers and their target demographics, how they market themselves and their similarities and differences!
Ooo good one Thankyou!
I'm not sure how difficult this would be with timezones, but I'd love to see you have a conversation with Hannah Louise Poston about shifting away from consumerism/shopaholism, and how it affected your relationship with others
I like deep-thinking, longer form videos, but I love the positivity you embody, and so I'm thrilled to hear what you'll talk about, because some great video essays get pretty negative, but you always keep things real but also hopeful, encouraging, and uploifting!!
I love your videos so longer format would definitely be my jam 🤩 feel free to elaborate on any of the subjects that you have already explored…maybe call it a Part 2 or expansion. Happy New Year! ❤🎉
Yay! Thank you! Happy new year to you too ❤️
its your channel, so do what suits you :) the right audience will follow
I personally am a longer form content viewer. Videos under 20 mins leave me disappointed most of the time.
This change is a good one for me!❤
Yay!
Yes Yes love longer videos 😊
Omg yesss! I love this that’s the only problem with your videos. . I want moreeee haha 😂
I can’t wait to be cooking, doing my housework, on the stepper at the gym and have a nice longggg video!
I’d love to hear more about 2024 goals, especially more in depth around the way you budget and save as I purchased the budget planner you suggested and I’m obsessed and plan to sell more designer items of yours how you’ve refined your style and how you go about clothing shopping now.
I don’t mind in depth topics . However, I think it’s fascinating that UA-camrs such as yourself that don’t “ shop “ anymore tend now to almost boycot shopping or seem against shopping. ( I could be wrong but that’s the feel I’m getting as of recent from your channel.
Everything in moderation is healthy.
I do enjoy your videos, and you’ve also had great topics , I look forward to hearing more , and thx for including us the subscribers to help come up with “ juicy” topics😊
I don't see it as being "against shopping." It's against buying crap you don't need, shopping because you're bored or anxious, spending money mindlessly on "stuff" that contributes to an ongoing environmental disaster. Making an effort to not participate in that behavior is a radical act in this culture, especially on YT.
You know how recovering alcoholics can't drink even a little bit? There is no such thing 'as everything is healthy in moderation' for them. It's the same with people whose previous addictive behaviours around shopping have caused damage to their life. If *you* can do it in moderation healthily, great. But it's not rocket science to work out why some other people can't.
@@janehex Well we all as a luxury channel have done it. I’ve never bought crap and neither as she for that matter .
@@lilithowl You have some great points. Self control is the key though ; it’s attainable
I don't get that impression from her, though I didn't watch her when she was a 'luxury' influencer or shopper or whatever category it would have fallen under. So maybe compared to THAT it could seem that way. I've gotten the impression of being more MINDFUL of what you purchase, luxury or otherwise. I know in one of her videos she mentioned the T shirt she had on that she had recently purchased, and maybe there was a link, or maybe I looked it up (not sure) but I liked it enough to go look and see about it as a purchase, and it was WAY more than what I would pay for a T shirt (and we are a 6 figure income household, so its not like I couldnt afford it, I just refuse to pay that much for a t shirt lol). So..... shes not boycotting shopping LOL
Happy New Year Caitlin 💫
Happy new year! ❤️
Merry Christmas and happy 2024 🥂✨ One longer video a week sounds great!! X
Woohooo thanks! Hope your 2024 is off to a good start ☺️ 💫
Caitlin do what you can girl, I’ll watch. Happy new year! 🎊
Happy new year to you too ❤️
I am looking forward to my new home this year, hopefully! ❤ Holding all shopping plans for renovation haha
I say let it happen naturally - long video if the topic warrants it or shorter videos if that works best that week.
Could you talk about skincare and what you use for clear skin (:
Yes, I wouldn't mind seeing longer videos, I sometimes don't see them fully in one sitting, but I end up watching them for sure. Topics I would be interested in would be things like history of certain fashion houses and how they have changed over time across the years. Also, lately I've been trying to educate myself more on how social media negative influences us (in whatever aspect that may be).
Thankyou so much for your suggestions ❤️
I prefer the more videos and 20ish min~ time frames per video. Maybe if a topic runs over the "time limit" you could do another video that would be a part 2 to the discussion. But this is just my opinion.
I very rarely watch any 'shorts'. My preferred videos are 10+ minutes. My average are usually 20-30 minutes probably. Longer than an hour and I usually tune out or lose interest. 40 minutes is about the longest I can do and it hold my attention. I can be finicky, I guess. It also depends on the subject and how engaged I am in the topic, for sure.
Yeees🎉 Long form/ video esseys are my favourite genre on yt. Also, I think that your best video is "the luxury industry's biggest lie that every women fell for" which is a deep dive into the history of luxury fashion. This type of deep dive content really suits you! Best of luck in new year everyone❤
Yay that makes me so happy! Thankyou so much ❤️ hope you’re having a great start to 2024
Happy to see your wee face !❤❤❤btw longer videos are fantastic !
Thankyou so much! ❤️❤️
I don’t care how long or short your videos are. I will watch them when I see them pop up 💕
You're the best! ❤️
I liked the videos you suggested at the end the influencer one was interesting. Understanding things are not always as they seem. More of that would be interesting.
Thankyou for your suggestion ❤️
Sounds like you should do a podcast/ UA-cam live style of content. Superdacob does something like that and I enjoy his videos.
Happy New Year ❤😊!
Happy new year!! Xx
@@CaitlinPawlowski thanks 😊
If you do shop for clothes, what do you look for and where do you shop for them?
I would love to see in-depth vlogs from you! xo
❤️❤️
If you could only keep only three luxury products/services. What would those be and why?
Please talk about the international students in Australia
Your wine collection tho 🥰
What is your target age to retire and what do you feel you'll need to retire?
How marketing prey on our insecurities / and make us feel inadequate. And lead us to spend more money on cosmetic surgery / diet industry etc.
Thanks for the suggestion ❤️
Are most excessive shoppers women? How many men do this? And if it is impacting women more why? How can we fix this behavior in ourselves.
How about “how to” videos of your choice of topics?
How do you justify buying designer jewelry? I understand I’m mainly just paying for the name/design and have this pull to buy more more more all the time especially if I’m on a trip and there might be some tax savings etc.
Long and medium 👍🏼
Let’s discuss why luxury lovers and UA-camrs watch less of your (amazing) channel.
Because you are telling them the truth and they can’t stomach it 😇
Why the industry charges women more money for products! Men’s items are sometimes less money for the same thing! How much money a woman spends in her life from society telling her she needs this product or should be buying it and also the industry charging women more!
How the pandemic affected people shopping habits during and after.
I have done a video on that one ☺️
@@CaitlinPawlowski oh amazing!! I will have to find it and watch! I just found your channel a few weeks ago. Love your content and fun personality!! 😊
I love long the better happy new year
Happy new year to you too ❤️
I think I’m in the minority - time poor girlie here and short attention span 😂 I prefer a shorter style buuut it’s your channel babes!
I personnel don't like to watch anything over 20-25min
I don't like endless vlogs nor rants
A video the unrealistic beauty and skin standards set by people on tiktoks and celebrities such as Hailey B. Its good to take care of your skin but nobody's skin is that clear , poreless and "perfect" even at 16...
