most instagram husbands have no jobs of their own and they become more like an assistant on their wives career. I think in the long run, it kills the relationship and the romance.

My husband could never be an IG husband because he is utterly useless with a camera. It’s so bad that it’s our running joke “honey do you want me to take a horrible picture of you?”🤣 “no thank you. I would like to not get depressed today🤗”

Seeing people make a killing not working traditional jobs is fascinating to me. I’m happy for them they have this opportunity
But I wonder about the long term effects. For example what’s driving you to do things becomes less about genuine desire and more about performance and how big of a show you can put on
It seems like it gets shallow overtime. Especially the pressure to look perfect, get surgery, never have an off day etc.

Caitlin, I was JUST thinking about this🤯 When people get married nowadays the men become influencers too! This is definitely a phenomena that is going on. You are on the pulse.

I wonder at times, what these people will do when their popularity fails. We are so fickle, I cannot see this trend lasting. Just curious.

Actually that is something no one seems to notice. It is not merely saturation as much as it is saying everything there is to be said. What do you say when you have given every single fashion/lifestyle tip possible? This is why a skincare channel would have more longevity because there are always new products coming out usually with actually innovative ingredients. In contrast there is only so much variation possible within a specific aesthetic niche for fashion or lifestyle. It seems like at some point it will be recycled paparazzo reality tv content just polished up.

In regards to Ali as an example I do think that he is extremely talented and actually has a better eye for aesthetics than that of his wife but I don’t think that he will ever do as well as her because it’s more so women that watch this type of genre and speaking for myself I am not interested in men’s fashion etc 🤔🤷‍♀️

If an influencer doesn't have an "influencer husband" I suppose they are then just a sad spinster with a camera on the end of a stick 😂

If you are running/significantly helping in a partner’s business behind the scenes: get on payroll, be credited for your work and have a contract as to your share in the success. This is especially important if you quit your job or turn down other lucrative opportunities because you are too busy with helping your spouse. If you guys break up, you need to be able to move on with the pay that you deserve already in your pocket, the resume you’ve built, and any shares/residuals/ percentages of future profits that you’ve earned already secured in a fully executed contract.
This mostly applies to women working uncredited and uncompensated behind the scenes (or at least it has for decades), but anyone can get cheated or be left with nothing of their own in a situation like this without the proper protections in place.

In the blogger space, Rachel and Dave Hollis come to mind. That’s different for many reasons and also tragic because Dave passed away in his 40s.

lol agreed!!!! But I’m doing my BEST to keep my hubby out of it… although I do need him to take some pix of me once in a while, but he’s not in them. Privacy is 100% needed now a days, especially the romantic life ❤

I believe Shea Whitney’s husband gave up his career as a pilot to work for her. I often wonder what happens if the influencer bubble bursts and all of your income is tied to that.

It’s funny I see Lydia and Victoria in such different lights (recently unfollowed Lydia because she’s just not my vibe anymore) but wow I didn’t realise they were so comparable in numbers. I also didn’t realise that Ali was SO big now and had built his brand so much. Dayum. Explains all the cars and birkins. Definitely Instagram husband to Influencer.

Catlin you really rock with your videos! I love how you connect the dots, put out facts (sometimes even backed by research), and help people to realise that the ‘influencer business’ is just a business like any other, but with a crucial difference or with an essence where all traditional business fail…creating the feeling of intimacy, relatability, closeness with target audience/potential customers (because truth be told this is what the viewers are). I’m waiting for the moment that more people realise how delusional this closeness and relatability is. With your content you’re definitely debunking this myth and unlike many other influencers you’ve named in your videos, actually bring value to your viewers. I’m writing this as someone who was following Lydia, Ali, Victoria and Alex for years…almost since their YT beginnings. But now I’ve stopped, because I rather spend this time on my own life or actually watching something that brings value beyond: This is my new 20000€ bag and I live such a minimalistic and connected to nature life in my 1+ million £ ‘mansion’. But at the end of the day each to their own, we all decide for ourselves what we bring into our lives. I guess this is just my thank you for all the effort you put into creating this videos. My apologies for diverging from the influencer husband topic a bit. 😋❤

My OG is Alex from TheFrow (Victoria),
I think out of all of them he is the absolute best ! His edits, his video editing is STUNNING!
Another one from UK is TheAnnaEdit, her husband Mark is massively behind the scenes but is basically a huge part of her business and I think since he joined it has significantly improved.
Also Leoni Hanne - her BF Alex is a huge part of her business but is not really seen as much.

    • @eleo_b
      @eleo_b 5 місяців тому

With The Anna Edit, I feel like he’s not as much of a contribution as she makes it out to be. For one, he’s just super bad at taking photos and editing and the difference from when she was a hired photographer is huge. But I also think that she’d do just fine with just her management without his big help. But women don’t just want to say their husband is a stay at home dad, so they have to hype them up to make it all appear better.

I have to admit that after thinking for 2 minutes about this topic, I've come to the conclusion that as a successful female influencer you either have an Instagram husband or/and cheerleader husband or you end up div...ed. There is not really an in-between option, respectfully 😅.

Oh gosh -we have wannabe influencers at work. They buy followers & edit their photos. The edited versions look nothing like reality - then they meet their ‘minions’ by flying to meet them, it doesn’t go well.

Hi Caitlin, its nothing wrong for couple no matter who is brain or money behind , to build their empire. Its just good example .In these times, we have some craziness going on… and its refreshing to see strong families. Now if that works for them, its great. Not every personality can work together. I definitely coukd not see myself working with my husband, well i dont know really. Since he was paralyzed, its like all the time together, no space. Honestly loosing it , its been 14 years. Thank God things are changing, like right now, cause i need my sanity😂. Arguments… i just dont think i would want to work all the time with my husband, especially type A personality. But these type of men, want to be leaders, so that wouldnt even be possible. But i do admire, and applaud who can do it 👏🙌🙏 Have a blessed day🙏❤️
