Well this ride review tells me the Evo frame I just bought can handle anything I throw at it in the PNW! Stoked to pound some rooty steeps with it once it's built up!
Sentinel V2 is a playful bike and I’m not a Transition fan, I’m more to Ibis, Revel and Yeti’s bikes. Based on the Pinkbike on review of the 2021 Stumpjumper Evo, it was mentioned that for bike park days maybe a 0.86 spacer will be a better option for the shock... so this suggest this bike bottoms out harshly on big stuff. Also a 0.86 spacer is not recommended by Fox for that size of shock. I can provide the manufacturer website link to prove this. So based on that detail it seems the rear shock of this bike needs to be replaced to be capable of competing with a Transition Sentinel V2.
Great reviews. Every time I want the bike you are testing. Makes it difficult to choose. There are so many awesome bikes. Plus, I can’t wait to get up to Bellingham soon.
Everything you’ve described about this bike reminds me of my 2021 Norco Sight. Same travel, very similar geometry - any first hand comparisons between them?
Would the 2020\1 PIVOT SWITCHBLADE beat this bike in every aspect? Climbing, sprinting, descending, tight turns, NOT destroyer of pedals and cranks, flat surfaces, roots, rock gardens, etc. overall quality, quality control...
I’m thinking about picking one up, but it’d be over biking for my daily rides in the hopes of coming in clutch when I need it on the steeps. How does it pop, and is it less planted compared to the old EVO?
