Just remember that no character or concept in comics is ever truly lost. The medium has an infinite memory and all it takes is one writer shooting their shot with a whole new twist to turn these silver age Mr. Zeros into modern and unforgettable Mr. Freezes.
In an alternate Universe it was Mr. Hydro and not Mister Freeze who got rebooted into a tragic Rougue in BTAS. Also The Mental Giant walked so that Azrael Batman could run.
The Most Forgotten Batman: Mr. Rogues, One of Batman's Deadliest and Epic Enemies, He was a Threat to The DC, Marvel, Image, Walking Dead and other Universes,
I'd write Mr Hydro as a metahuman with water powers, that he developed during his teenage years, he'd be born with the metahuman gene, and after almost being drowned to death by his parents, who were trying to kill him because they thought he was a demon, his powers kicked in and he killed them both, and then in the present he would use his metahuman powers to drown men, women and even children, thinking he was saving them from the horrors of the world, taking them to a magical underwater fantasy world in his twisted mind, due to the trauma he suffered at an early age
honestly i was thinking of him being a serial killer who finds ways to drown victims, wasn't thinking of him being a meta human jsut using more mundane methods
Maybe he works at an aquarium or water park outside town which he uses as a hideout after hours. Put a good artist on the book, and you could have an atmospheric finale in the dimly lit environments.
I wonder if Mr. Hydro was more then just a one shot villain if there would be a story where the he, clayface, Phosphorus and a wind villain would team up and become a elementa villain group.

Even comparing Mental Giant to some of the modern fanatical vigilantes Batman (or just super heroes in general) would fight, ala say Jason Todd or Punisher, I would say he's still unique in that he wouldn't go toe to toe with Batman in a physical encounter as this type of character typically would. I wasn't sure of it at first but I oddly like it now.
He kinda reminds me of the Leader from Hulk, but as a vigilante instead of a conqueror. A battle of wits might not be possible with a man whose intellect dwarfs even Batman... but maybe in the revised story Barney *doesn't* reveal his origins to the Caped Crusader. Just open with him walking into Wayne Manor and delivering the ultimatum. Then the story would become about Bruce (and possibly Damian or Alfred) unraveling the mystery of the Mental Giant, while hiding his investigation from the ever-vigilant genius (throw in a villain like Penguin or Black Mask as the crime lord the Mental Giant is hunting). Then, once Batman learns his origin, he can use it as part of the story's solution.
Maybe Stan Lee remembered that story, and used the concept to make the Leader from. It wouldn't be the first time he stole ideas 💡 from DC, cough "Doom Patrol (DC) = X-Men (Marvel)" cough! 😅
Mr Hydro could be a good villain, his design could be an armoured scuba suit and his lair is a submarine or maybe an underwater cave. For some reason Mr. Hydro reminds me of early Mr. Freeze. I think it’s the name and the bad costume. Two similar and also underused rogues that fans of this channel will recognize are King Kraken and Cavalier II. I'm not sure I agree with you about Mr. Hydro. Yes, his design is not the world's most impressive, I'll certainly grant you that, but in concept, he's not bad - I mean, a shrimpy, pathetic loser of a crook who winds up transforming himself into a threat through sheer ingenuity? There's something Scarecrow-ish about that, or even Penguin-ish, in a way. And there's a lot you can do with a water theme - the ocean, ice, drinking water, marine animals, floods, ships, etc., etc. And clearly, he's a clever fella - that scheme to flood the Batcave is not bad. Here's what I'd do with him. Tim Flagg is back in jail again, but his plan worked - after a successful crime spree, he's elevated himself in the eyes of his fellow crooks, and he soon makes it clear that nobody messes with Mr. Hydro - you try, he'll poison your water or flood your cell or something. He's a 'big man' now, his former dream, but now it means nothing to him - because Batman kicked his rear. Batman 'made him feel small'. This forms a blueprint for his criminal career: he breaks out, and tries more and more ambitious schemes for showing up/wiping out the Dark Knight, only to fail every time and wind up back in jail. There, he's a big shot; outside, he's just the weird little guy who Batman keeps defeating - and he can't STAND that! He will make EVERYONE respect him, or they'll be sent to a watery grave - and the first one he'll send there is Batman!
Yeah, I mean using a thing you were mocked for or afraid of as your MO is frequently seen in comics (it certainly worked for Batman and Penguin), plus an idea of Mr Hydro's growing ego, obsession with Dark Knight and all types of water crimes would make for some cool stories. How exactly would you change his design though? His original one is meh, but going full force and giving him a diver suit sounds way too ridiculous.
Yeah, he is a little tricky, design-wise. Maybe something like a yachting outfit - the sort of thing a rich man would wear on a pleasure cruise; gold buttons and epaulets and a captain's cap, that sort of thing. Or if that's too over-the-top, maybe just something that's waterproof and looks like it - lots of rubber and plastic and such. @@turkishjanitor3666
Gotta be honest, I think Mental Giant is way more interesting than Hector Hammond. He could be the anti-villain who fights crime more efficient and intelligently in a level not even Batman could reach, mainly because the methods are above the humane way.
Hey ya', Rogues! (👋) Really liking all these early day Batman villain content. Say what you will about how hit or miss some of them were, but these writers really cranked way more costumed villains than nowadays. Today, it just seems we're saddled with the two dozen or so proven players in Gotham, with the odd Hush, Court of Owls, or Mr. Pig thrown in every once in a while. Keep it coming!
Would it be more smarter to flooded the Batcave, and make sure they drown in it or something but then again Mr hydro is meant to be a not good villain, so I’m basically okay with it
Wouldn't a watermancer that can control water at will be super op? If he can control the water pressure as well then he can probably just look at a dude and instakill him.
Hey Rogues, do you know who were the creators Mental Giant? I was rewinding the video, but I don't think you ever mentioned them. Sorry if I'm just not remembering Also, since the batman movies usually reinvent the villains from the ground up, it would be interesting for a movie to tackle the more obscure ones. I think someone else was metioning something similar. Although I'm not sure how much you can do with Mr. Hydro, I think it would be a fun challenge for a screenplay. On an unrelated note, I wanted to ask if you guys are still using discord? I was there for a little while, but I never really got the chance to talk to anyone Sorry for the long comment
Mr. Hydro real name has nothing to do with water? And come on Rouges this is Gotham city every crook has a theme. If you'll work for the Riddler who leaves clues to the next crime a water crook is fine.

I kinda like mr.hydro, I would of course change him though.
Like give him a weapon that can fire highlu pressurised water that can cut steel?
@@Raximus3000 something like that, and change a bit of his origin
FLOWERS FOR BARNEY ALGERNON BARROWS.
You could also count Wrath
Batman machine is almost reminds me of His Batman animated series his silicone soul.
Gotta be honest, I think Mental Giant is way more interesting than Hector Hammond. He could be the anti-villain who fights crime more efficient and intelligently in a level not even Batman could reach, mainly because the methods are above the humane way.
Idk a water themed villan can work
Yeah, just look at Hydro-Man
How do you not get millions of views
I love forgotten rouges
Where do you read these comics? Is it a website or do you actually buy them?
He was in jail for making stupid water puns
Hey ya', Rogues! (👋) Really liking all these early day Batman villain content. Say what you will about how hit or miss some of them were, but these writers really cranked way more costumed villains than nowadays. Today, it just seems we're saddled with the two dozen or so proven players in Gotham, with the odd Hush, Court of Owls, or Mr. Pig thrown in every once in a while. Keep it coming!
Would it be more smarter to flooded the Batcave, and make sure they drown in it or something but then again Mr hydro is meant to be a not good villain, so I’m basically okay with it
Maybe he has power over water. It wouldn’t be the worst thing ever. Maybe he shouldn’t be a Batman villain though.
Wouldn't a watermancer that can control water at will be super op?
If he can control the water pressure as well then he can probably just look at a dude and instakill him.
I'm reading through the marvel universe comics and the book of the dead im sure it's alot of forgotten people in there
Hey Rogues, do you know who were the creators Mental Giant? I was rewinding the video, but I don't think you ever mentioned them. Sorry if I'm just not remembering
Also, since the batman movies usually reinvent the villains from the ground up, it would be interesting for a movie to tackle the more obscure ones. I think someone else was metioning something similar. Although I'm not sure how much you can do with Mr. Hydro, I think it would be a fun challenge for a screenplay.
On an unrelated note, I wanted to ask if you guys are still using discord? I was there for a little while, but I never really got the chance to talk to anyone
Sorry for the long comment
I wonder if Tim has a brother or relative named Rick.
Oh nose.
Mr. Hydro real name has nothing to do with water? And come on Rouges this is Gotham city every crook has a theme. If you'll work for the Riddler who leaves clues to the next crime a water crook is fine.
Personally I think a crooked magician could work too. Even got several 66 fanon episodes dedicated to him.
Mental Giant=the original antibatman.
Mr rouges? Your voice has changed..
