Onomatopoeia - the guy who says Blam!
Is he a Batman villain? A Green Arrow villain? Why does he spout onomatopoeias? Who is he? Why does he hunt super heroes?
Watch the video to find out!
(Actually you won't, as I don't have the answers to any of these questions.)
Onomatopoeia was created by Kevin Smith and Phil Hester. The character is a property of DC Comics.
The song is "Doll Dancing" by Puddle of Infinity. - Розваги
When I first “met” Onomatopoeia I though he had the superpower to do whatever based on whatever sound-effect he made. Like if he said “Ka-boom!” An explosion would just happen.
That's not a bad idea
that would be cool asf.
My hero academia has "manga" a character who does exactly that
@@mr_indie_fan name

Im surprised he doesnt have the power of making the onomatopeias real when he says it.
Like he says "bang" and nearby gun fires.
Eh, I think that power is almost unnecessary, or at least a bit difficult to explain. Like, where would the gun fire from? Would it be a gun he’s holding, or any guns in the nearby vicinity, or would the bullet just come out of nowhere? And if it’s any of the options mentioned, how does he control it? Does the gun just fire at anything, or can he mentally direct the bullet to his target, and if so how? And how does this power apply to other weapons like knives, swords, bows and arrows, and piano wire? Or what if he wants to do something like send a table or a car flying, what sound does he go for there? Can he mentally control them? And how does accuracy work with these powers? Does he just have to think “hit this” and it works perfectly, or does he really have to focus?
I also think it’d be a bit of an unnecessary power. If his powers are to use guns with his mind, why not just have him fire the guns normally to save time on a confusing power?
It’d also sort of make him too overpowered, since he could presumably just hit anything he wants to. He could just not even wear a costume and go to a press conference held by non-powered heroes and fire a gun from a distance with no way of anyone stopping him.
And giving him weird superpowers sort of takes away from the cool idea of him hunting non-powered heroes. There wouldn’t be much of a challenge, and thus no cool “hunt” aspect. Plus he could probably go after super-powered heroes too.
I dunno, MAYBE you could go for this power with the character and still keep him cool, but at present I don’t really see it working out.
@@legoarkhamiteproductions4869 Doesn't inherently need to be a power, he may just have a gun rigged out of sight somewhere that he can control remotely, that kind of thing
@@legoarkhamiteproductions4869If he could make a gun fire by saying bang, maybe it could just be, any nearby gun , but without any particular influence over the aim? That probably wouldn’t be all that useful.. but uh, the other idea by other comment of just having a gun rigged to fire upon the word “bang” could work…
I have news for you...
@@drdca8263 well that power could work. if he is hidden and his enemies are armed with guns, he can just say bang bang and disorient the enemy, that will make the enemies accidentally shooting themselves.
He can also just say bang bang constantly while hiding behind cover to run out the enemies ammo, then attack when they reload
I love how he's like "He doesn't work in a format outside of comics" and here we are in 2024 and he's being used in the new Batman show... what a time to be alive! Ono is literally the thing I'm talking about most after that trailer. #justiceforono
Batman steals another bad guy, like he has none of his own.
@leesimmons5453 valid, I just want more Ono in whatever form but having him be a dedicated team Arrow rogue or a more widespread threat to nonpowered heroes would obviously be better
@@leesimmons5453 Is he really stealing a villain if they exist in the same universe as each other and have have fought already. Also, he's spent more time fighting the Arrow characters sooo.
@@TheOddestBall That's like deal with Deathstroke where most people wrongly belevie he is a Batman villain.
And if Slade's popular with Batman he is gonna be in more Batman media, so Prometheous will be pushed aside more and Slade's rivalry and hatred for Nightwing also could go away. See where I'm getting at?
There's a new batman show?
"The Widening Gyre" is seriously one of the worst Batman stories I've ever read. I remember reading that Kevin Smith was high when he wrote that arc and I can believe it.
A guy who came up with "Tusk" is sure going to produce some underwhelming stories
@@mysoncrumphaseveryinjury3853 I've never seen Tusk, but I haven't heard great things about it.
And he's going to be responsible for the ruination of the he-man reboot. Joy.
Definitely not as bad as Cacophony in my opinion
Just finished the arc, if you guys think its the worst one you havent read much batman.
Tusk wasnt so bad.i cant get more than ten minutes into clerks 3 tho.
That green arrow cover with him snapping the arrow looks so good.
His pose, the background and the tiny sprach bubble are amazingly put together
I like the character too. Probably the only way I can think he could work in live action, is if his mask is designed in a way
that covers his voice with that of a text-to-speech bot. And whenever he performs an "action", the mask will simply replicate
the sound of it.
Bro you were exactly thinking the same thing as me.
Superman & Lois changes the character to more resemble something like BB's Shriek
Nah, big cgi words around him

Okay, he works better as a green arrow villian
I live around seagulls too. I hate them as well. Crap on everything.Make lots of noise too.
F'ing birds !!!.
Having a target on his head definitely makes him an ironic foil to GA
Oh so bc he kills minor superheroes you’re saying green arrow is a minor superhero
@@Chineseisntalanguageapparently He works better as a Green Arrow villian because Batman already has an iconic rouges gallery. He doesn't need to take from other characters. Green Arrow on the other hand doesn't really have that many I would call iconic. He needs more of his own. Onimonipiea worked to fix that problem.
@@LizardClone2 ok? tf does that have to do with what I said?
I always liked Onomatopoeia since he uses the gimmick perfectly. I would also like him to become sorta like Green Arrow’s equivalent to the Riddler. Not his main nemesis but a solid number 2 nemesis
If dc wants to do a horror movie this guy is perfect.
He would have been better for "the batman" movie then the riddler.
@@mr_indie_fan not really. Anarky should’ve been the villain instead of the riddler.
@@damiantirado9616Hopefully they'll appear in the upcoming sequel film
@@damiantirado9616 Nah the Riddler was a perfect fit. I don't think the movie could have been any better tbh.
@@vn9574 to me the movies was painfully mediocre
I like him, but I feel like he stating things like “blam”, or “crash”, would get annoying pretty quickly. I feel like it’d be better if he said it only a few times and he’d mainly be a man of few words. I like him having a family, that’s an interesting idea that could used more in the future. I agree that should be a green arrow villain, Batman has too many as it is. I like his design too
in fact, apart from his onomotopeia's he NEVER speaks (and thus my surprise when he does speak like...A PERSON as Baphomet).
@@sarafontanini7051 - Nope, he's also said the word "Onomatopoeia" to Virago in his very first appearance.
Imagine you are with your girlfriend.
Then you hear "slit".
You are now confused and you see a man slitting your girlfriend throat.
He is nightmares fuel.
When I seen the slit speech bubble that broke me.
People judge these concepts to fast. Kevin smith made a movie about a guy turning some into a walrus.
I imagine him saying it in a robotic voice with a modulator Text to Speech.
Maybe if he was like a creepy failed ventriloquist that eventually lost his voice from cancer ( he had a high pitch voiced so he did every thing to deepen his voice even dranked poison mostly smoking cigars ) causing him to develop or create something to give him limited speech
I think Onomatopoeia could work in a animated show or film but it would have to be stylized. Something like Onomatopoeias only appearing when he’s on screen, maybe he would whisper it before the sounds go off
He's now in batman caped crusader animated series
Batman being selfless enough to save the Joker is one thing but trusting enough to reveal both his lair and secret identity someone he only just met is another
thats just bad character writing nothing more

Had he been created earlier, Batman 66 could've used him. Onos were one of it's chief gimmicks after all
Great idea. Where ‘66 is campy and bright with “POW”, “BLAM”, etc., if they ever DO use character in live action they can flip it and make the interjections dark, menacing, and creepy.
That scene in the Bat cave had the atomic pile from the TV show in the background.
There’s nothing wrong with him being an enemy of both Bruce and Ollie. Spider-Man and Daredevil share the kingpin, mysterio, the punisher ( when he’s being the antagonist), the Owl, etc. It doesn’t take away from either hero and gives them more of an excuse to team up). Why can’t this guy be that for Bruce and Ollie?
I don’t think his origin should ever fully be revealed. His gimmick requires a bit of “What the Hell?” to it.
Mysterio is more of Spider-Man’s enemy than Daredevils and Kingpin is now Daredevils main enemy, and no longer Spider-Man’s enemy as much. Pretty much a villain leans on to 1 person as their main enemy typically.
@@chaitanyatanamala1464 kingpin is still very much Spidey’s enemy, just read Nick Spencer’s Amazing Spider-Man run. Sure, he’s not Peter ARCH enemy, but he’s still a thorn in his side. Just like his is with Matt.
@@chaitanyatanamala1464 I don't know, a lot of Spider-Man's enemies work for Fisk including heavy hitters like Dr Octopus, Chameleon, Scorpion, and even Rhino
Mysterio is really more of a strict Spider-Man foe. A better example might be Electro, since he was Daredevil’s first villain and has tried to get revenge on him since. But even then, I’d say Kingpin is the only valid example.
@@leftyknox8296 but of course both Mysterio and Electro are on the Kingpin's payroll
Maybe Onomatopoeia could possess the ability to absorb all the sound around him, allowing his to use his own sound effects? That's the only way I can think that would work in live-action.
Maybe also make cgi song effects appear every time he makes a sound like the black and white gimmick in sin city
You've just described the DC character "Honor Guest", aka *The Silencer* ^^ In *Arrow* season 7, she's a mercenary (part of the Longbow Hunters) working for Ricardo Diaz to kill the Green Arrow.
She can manipulate sound waves and makes everything around her go silent, which is useful when she faces Black Canary for instance...
kinda what happens in Superman and Lois
Reminds me of a stand in jojo part 7 named “In a silent way” who can store sounds/onomatopoeia on objects and whoever touches the object the sound is stored on will be affected by it. For example he can cut an object and then store the “cut” sound on it and then anyone who touches it will be cut to pieces or conversely a part 4 stand named “Echos act 2” who can make and place onomatopoeia on objects and when touched the object will act out that onomatopoeia. For example he can place a sizzle sound on an object and then when touched it will become extremely hot.
And nows he's in the new animated series!
Nice
Which
@@mogbo8111 batman the caped crusader
I think he must be a villain for any unpowered vigilantes in general (specially with Green Arrow and Batman). But at the same time one of the things that make this character special is that he´s a hero-hunter, and I doubt that he´s gonna get a relevant hero as one of his many victims.
He always gave me the vibe that the unpowered only thing was a self imposed rule so that he wouldn't get himself killed and hurt his family. That makes everything else he does even more fucked up as it means two things. One, he cares for his family; a capacity to love and care that doesn't extend to heroes. Second, that if he had the capability of going after bigger heroes, he'd definitely consider it.
He could work in an animated series, or even in a live action, as a 1 shot villain. If well supported (in a "Criminal Minds" kind of episode), shifting between his prospective and the hero prospective, he could be really creepy.
His gimmick is really interesting, even for a TV show: it could be used in many ways.
For example, Ono whispering - BOOOM- while throwing something at you. You would instantly take cover, thinking that's a bomb.
Or him putting a hand in his pocket while spelling BLAM and the hero killing him (or Almost killing him) , thinking he had a gun while he was just pretending.
Or using pre-recorded onomatopoeias as baits or as part of traps.
You can really work with this gimmick.
Onomatopoeia (Man, that's a long name) would make a interesting villain in a live-action Green Arrow film.
Would boost his status.
Onomatopoeia has appeared in the show super man and lois, but instead of being a human who says onomatopoeias, they can fully mimic sounds, which I think is a cool idea for interpreting them outside of comics.
Wish DC would bring this guy back as he was an interesting villain for Bats
No. For Green Arrow.
@@mayotango1317 yes and no. Yes because it could work depending on who is writing for him in the story and no because Ollie already has alot to contend with including being a crappy mentor to speedy/arsenal for not helping him kick his bad habit but hey that's just a theory.
@@demoniod619 but still Green Arrows villain
@@punisherrafi6440 I'd like to think he works better for Batman as he fits best in the realm of Gotham more than Star City. I would also like to point out that we have a bigger unresolved problem that needs fixing from Batman's side and that was as Mr. Rogues stated his fiance's death by onomatopoeia. Furthermore, he was in batman stories just a wee bit more thanks to Kevin Smith more than the one story from green "I am a terrible mentor" arrow.
@Johny Morisson yes, I am aware he started out as such but notice what mr. Rogues stated that he moved away from Ollie and Star City and went straight to Gotham to be Batman's enemy...TWICE! I have the cacophony book and that story spanned a few issues more than the I believe the two issue story that was Green Arrow's. Not mentioning the story when Onomatopoeia comes back to Gotham and kills Bruce's fiance.
I’ve always thought he looked really cool. I hope we see him in a movie.
But how would that work?
@@spencermalley10 that’s something I’d need to think about haha
@@spencermalley10 - Weeeell, even if our dear Mr Rogues is right when he says that Kevin Smith has stated that Ono wouldn't work on screen, Smith later recanted himself in an interview with Den of Geek:
“I’ve figured out a way to do it that is kinda bad-ass and also connects to comics more or less. So instead of just doing the actual sound - which to me, in the real world, would be like the dude from Police Academy making noises with his mouth - he’ll just have little cards. Business cards that have typewritten words of whatever the f---. So instead of him saying ‘blam’, you’d find this card on your desk and turn around and ‘blam’, he’d shoot you and stuff like that. Which I think is a little more chilly, you know, for doing it in live action.
“On a comic book page, those big word balloons with a tiny word in it were so f---ing sweet. It looks beautifully graphic, like, at the same time it creates an image of ‘this is weird’. But I don’t know if audibly making noises would ever work in the real world, so I think those cards would be bad-ass, man. So [you read] ‘slit’, and you’re like 'slit?', and then all of a sudden you turn around he cuts your f---ing throat and dude just cocks his head Michael Myers style and watches you go down."
“Oh my god, I would love that so much. I’ve not heard from anybody over there, even though I’ve talked about it in the press quite a bit and stuff... I know I’m going back to The Flash, first week of September, to direct episode 7 of season 3. Still haven’t heard anything back from Arrow. You know, I wish, it would be amazing because I would love to write and direct Onomatopoeia in the show... At the moment, anyone over there raises a flag; I’m like ‘please, let me in!’”
So, that might have worked...
There was another reference to Ono in *Arrow* a couple years later, in the episode "The Emerald Archer" from season 7.
In this episode, Team Arrow face off against Chimera (real name Kevin Meltzer, an amalgamation between Kevin Smith and Brad Meltzer).
Chimera has the same shtick as Onomatopoeia, as he's hunting non-powered vigilantes for sport, and keeps their masks as trophies.
In his lair, he has the masks of heroes like Huntress, Ragman, Wild Dog, Emiko's Green Arrow, etc...
Unlike Ono, it seems that Chimera doesn't need to kill his victims to be satisfied, taking their masks seems to be enough.
I vividly remember just before the episode came out, how the fandom went berserk in the *Arrow* trailers sections, since we were all convinced that FINALLY Ono was being ported on the small screen!
We were looking at every detail on Chimera's exoskeleton, looking for Ono-clues, and some of us thought that the symbol on his chest could be the double Oo from his mask...
Sadly he ended up being a simple homage, and not the real deal, but that's ok... Kevin Smith will release *Bellicosity* one day, right? ... right guyz?
I hope so too
Seems kinda odd, but I mean, name a Green Arrow antagonist you can name off the top of your head? Ono has a personal rivalry with Oliver, and in my opinion is criminally underrated. So maybe if our boy Oli gets a film he'll be the main antagonist or one of them. But unfortunately as the video mentioned he probably wouldnt work in any film or TV.
Onomatopeia is a delightfully creepy and cool villain and I've always considered him to be my favorite Green Arrow villain.
What you say about him not working in adaptation is true but I still actually want to see someone attempt it. I have no clue how but Id be interested to see how they'd try because I love the character so much.
I just cant get over how much Kevin Smith can be dense. He created a threatening villain character with a genius comic gimick but instead of making him some kind of telepath who can make things happen by making a comic sound (aims fingers like a gun make gunshot and a telephatic bullet would hit what he is aiming on), Smith had turned him into run of the mill serial killer of not even Z listers but killer of for issued made up mask no name characters. Just... And of course he should be GA villain
Yeah right, when i first this villain i was thinking “oh so when he made a sound that happen like if he said bang he can shoot without weapon right” but when i see that he just have guns and said random things i was like “well that’s pretty disappointing, hope is got a reboot” but i think he’s mask is cool thought
Giving him telephatic powers would make him too OP for GA and Batman. But in that case his gimmick would make more sense like now does.
@@zoltanperei4789 No it wouldn't. I think he should be a reality warper not just a telepath. I was thinking that about The Mime in Doomsday Clock but, they gave him invisible weapons...😒
At least he's going to appear in Batman: Caped Crusader (a brand new Batman animated series that was initially made by HBO Max before Amazon picked it up following Warner Brothers being a shithead and purging properties from it left right and centre)
Odie Monamia played cops and robbers with his three brothers, but they always made him to play the robber alone, same thing when they played cowboys and Indians. Now, Ode adopted the Onomatopia guise so he could once in his life win game of cowboys and Indians, going against the biggest cowboys around, the vigilantes. And like a kid, he makes sound effects with his mouth.
This shall be his Silver Age origin story.
Ah, The Widening Gyre. The story where it was revealed that in Batman: Year One, during his big dramatic "I am the 99%" speech, the Dark Knight did in fact..... wet himself.
Oh, Smith... you juvenile bast*rd... Well, at least it seems like it isn't canon.... I think...
He onomatopeed himself.
Your opinions are interesting, and I've always been curious about this character, so it's really great to hear and see this. I actually think one COULD possibly turn this character into something screenworthy, but it WOULD be very tricky, especially since we know so little about him. He definitely works best in comics.
Having said that...(Nicolas Cage Voice) "NOT THE BIRDS!"
well, you just saved me from reading those two Kevin Smith Batman stories. Also Onomatopoeia might work in a spider-verse type Green Arrow movie.
THAT'S WHAT I WAS THINKING
Can't say enough how glad I am that your semi-back posting regularly
There is one man that could make this character work in a live-action series. I would have had Onomatopoeia played by Police Academies Michael Winslow.
Think about it. This version of Onomatopoeia using his sounds to fool and distract Green Arrow as he prepares to kill him. Such as fooling the hero into thinking he's under machine gun fire or that there's a group of people in a room. The possibilities are endless.
This, just this.
An interesting idea
Wonder what a Arkham Session with Onomatopoeia would be like?
Dude is clearly insane and he'd fit in just well in Arkham.
"Tick tick tick tick tick creek tick tick tick tick"-onomatopoeia
Arkham: From the patient files of Dr. Jeremiah Arkham, the director of Arkham Asylum. The patient’s real name is unknown, but he is often referred to as “Onomatopoeia.” The patient suffers from psychopathy and obsessive compulsive behavior. He is obsessed with onomatopoeia, and has a compulsion to mimic any sound he hears with said onomatopoeia. He also refuses to speak in anything other than onomatopoeia. Session one. So, Mr. Onomatopoeia, how’re you doing today?
(A clock is heard ticking)
Ono: Tick. Tock.
Arkham: Er, okay. Tell me, why motivated you to kill all those heroes?
(The safety of a gun is heard being turned off)
Ono: Click.
Arkham: What was that?
(Onomatopoeia stands up, and a scraping sound is heard as his chair moves)
Ono: Scrape.
Arkham: W-What’re you doing?
(Onomatopoeia pulls out a handgun)
Ono: Blam.
(He fires the gun into Jeremiah’s arm. He falls backwards screaming in pain, and a thud is heard as he hits the floor.)
Ono: Thud.
(He walks over to the door and opens it.)
Ono: Creek.
(He walks outside)
Arkham: Guards!
Something like that, I imagine? (At least in terms of the script, anyway)
@@legoarkhamiteproductions4869 Yup. It'd go exactly something like this. If Dr. Arkham was still alive. Cool work.
@@deshawnedwards6412 Thanks. It could be updated to fit Hugo Strange, too (maybe I’ll write a second version to fit that later, but for now unless you or someone else talked matters into their own hands you’ll just have to imagine it). I’d imagine Strange would ask more questions on Green Arrow, possibly to compare him to the information he’d already acquired on Batman, since Ono is one of the villains who got closest to killing a non-powered hero on par with the Dark Knight. He’d probably not even bother going into Ono’s motives or past, aside from asking once out of curiosity. After all, Rogues’ Hugo only cared about helping the villains of GOTHAM, not Star City, so why bother with Ono. Maybe he’d even try to use Ono to get to Batman somehow by appealing to Ono’s desire to hunt non-powered heroes. Just some ideas I had. Like I said, maybe I’ll give that version a shot later.
@@legoarkhamiteproductions4869 - Just a small detail; when Onomatopoeia was captured by the Teen Titans, and that Damian/Robin made Djinn wipe his mind out to make him "normal", his new name was *"John Thudd"* and he worked in a public library ^^

When I first saw this guy in that DC animated short and learning more about him I found him pretty cool. Awesome work rogues, onomatopoeia is a really creepy unpredictable character. When I first saw him when I first read widening gyre, I really didn't know how to feel about the twist reveal, but the design and vocal choice of ono was just eye catching and unnerving.
hearing you yell at the birds made me laugh through my nose
I didn't hear any birds, but it reminded me of something. Great videos, I have been watching a bunch lately. Really good, thank you.
I honestly think Ono seems more urban, but Green Arrow is in SERIOUS need of memorial villains. Plus, I think him in a less gothic area kinda makes him stand out as this Boogeyman-like character. He has a hobby, and he likes to take his little hobby across the state. He's like the Ash Ketchum of Supervillains, travelling the world and slowly but surely getting stronger and stronger. In summary, I dont like the idea of him staying in Gotham as that's the home of one of the most famous superheroes of all time, but I do like the idea of him staying momentarily in a vibrant city where he doesnt belong.
Thank you for these forgotten villians videos again. Really missed then over the 2 years.

i wanna see this guy fight The Question and he just has this giant conspiracy board trying to find out his identity but never can.
I really like his whole aesthetic. It doesn't look like a villain trying to go for a "look", and it's not like the circles on his mask relate to his quirk. It looks like an outfit he put together exclusively to hid his identity, going function over form. Even with his somewhat goofy gimmick in concept, his no nonsense mentality of immediately going for the kill without ceremony and his general demeanor makes the fact that his few spoken words are these onomatopoeia striking and unnerving. Plus, that Green Arrow cover is great. I'm into it.
You CAN have him work so long as he is resolved into a very creepy and menacing tone that oozes with intent
8:46 is this the part where onomatopoeia starts going “chirp chirp chirp”? Man this guy really should be given more credit for some how getting away with *stabbing the Joker!* always great to see someone humble the clown. I’d be fine with him being caught and maybe his family finding out about him! But not seeing his face and learning about his motives would be good! Hmmm maybe he could work for a motion comic at least.
Excited to see more of him in Superman and Lois!
I’m really happy the video has finally come out! A very informative vid on the character, you did him justice. And perhaps a good way to translate him to live action is to have him be able to replicate sounds down to a T? Like, you’re in an abandoned space with him. Any creak, drip, whatever, could be him.
But yeah. Love the video Rogues!
I love this supervillain. Been w8ing for u to do him
So nice to see you making these videos again.
I feel like Onomatopoeia would work in live action if he was a sort of terrorist/ serial killer but is more in the shadows.
Like sending letters to people with "Ssssssslit" on it, graffiti the word "BOO-OOM" on buildings or public places or having monitors and phones to show the word "Bang" repeatedly being seen. And then have Onomatopoeia make go through with his actions depending on the threats made with just a word of a sound effect.
8:46 wasn't expecting that 😂 but glad it was in the video
Bang! **blows up the roof of The Penguin’s yacht**
A poor man's Gorr is what he would be with a back-story
He's really a cool villain and I like the concept of him. A truly miss opportunity to not have him in Batman: Brave and the bold. And since Green Arrow barely used his own rogues, they should have it too Batman in the first place. Also, Onomatopoeia reminds me of Stain from My Hero Academia as they both kill heroes.
I think you should make a video on Stanislaus Johns, aka the Librarian, next. He's another Batman villain.
Also, I don't think he's too forgotten because he appears a lot, but could you look at DC's Calculator?
Glad to see onomatopoeia highlighted. He's awesome.
Honestly Onomatopoeia could work as a horror/thriller style villain, just have him be completely deranged and brutal. Plus him say bang and bam would still work in a sense.
Great video! A completely new character to me.
This is a very interesting villain - I think the lack of information regarding him makes the character so much creepier. The fake hero version based on Baphomet of all things is quite interesting also - (Batman should have guessed something was amiss). Great video!.
Really cool vid mate
It's a cool concept, I'd love to see more of him
Underrated villain, if they are not gonna use him with Batman, might as well make him a Green Arrow villain
So, Onomatopoeia, what's the sound of your career and impact on comics as a whole?
Fluggrgschlushhhh.
Was... that you imitating a toilet flush?
*Ono just hangs his head and just trudges off mournfully*
Honestly, I think Ono would work in a film. If it where a sort of horror film focused on Green Arrow I think it could be an interesting watch, especially when the sounds he makes could be a sort of taunt.

batman has a no-kill rule but actively saving the life of the joker is crazy
He made reference to his Brother dying in Widening Gyre. Maybe a hero failed at saving him? Maybe it was a fake story he told Batman. But it is the closest thing we have to a motive to why he does what he does.

I thought Onomatopoeia would have an ability similar to Echoes ACT 1 or 2 from Jojos part 4
He’s appearing in The Caped Crusader animated series.
He should be a Green Arrow villain, his face is literally a target.
I found why he's a forgotten villain. He debuted in a Green Arrow comic
I think the best way to adapt Ono to Movies and TV is too have him be a comedic character who randomly sprouts random words which confuses the hell out of everyone
All I'll say is he'd work wonders in Spiderverse style animation.
He’s going to be in Caped Crusader
Anyone here after Superman & Lois (First Episode of Season 03) ?
#Onomatopoeia
Don't ever use those big ass emojis again
One of my favorite visual designs in comics
Whos else is here after watching the trailer for Batman: Caped Crusader?
Forgotten supervillain: auntie-gravity
Onomatopoeia is essentially the idea that you don't have to have a good gimmick to be a badass villain. I could also see villains like the Eraser, Condiment King, and Rainbow Raider looking up to him
You telling birds to shut up while my bird was constantly squawking during this video
great work!!
Can you make one about Lord Death Man next? His side kick just showed up in the Robin book...so he is relevant again.
The only way I can imagine seeing this guy on television or on the silver screen, is if he were in an animated movie or show similar to Into the Spider-Verse which keeps the onomatopoeias from the comics! Granted hearing him say the onomatopoeias will get pretty annoying, but at least the characters could make fun of his strange quirk!
He’s ba-ackkkkkk
Green Arrow was one of my first series. Loved him
Great video Mr. Rogues. Do you think a top 5 Green arrow rogues would be possible? I would love to see it
Onomatopoeia having a family is very interesting. The only thing I wish I knew is the motive to hunt non powered heroes.
I don’t know why they didn’t took the chance to make the villain have a speech impediment of some kind. Him being mute only being able to make those onomatopoeia sounds (or being able to speak but it sounds unnatural. Like he is making letter/word sounds the same way onomatopoeic sounds) would make a lot of sense.
He does look the type that belong in Arkham. But being part of the Green Arrow’s rogue gallery would probably be better.
I suspect that part of the backstory he told Batman in "The Widening Gyre", as "Baphomet" might be true, but twisted in certain key points.
That backstory being complete nonsense from A to Z would be kinda weird... we'll need to wait for *Bellicosity* >
I can appreciate the simplicity of Onomatopoeia. Sometimes you just want that. And yes, he should be a Green Arrow villain. Batman already has a few dozen rogues that never get used. Firefly, Maxie Zeus, Royal Flush Gang, Zodiac Master, Orca, the list goes on.All in favor of the same three or so villains and new characters that odds are, no one will care about.
Great video, dude. I laughed when you yelled at the birds. I know I've mentioned this before, at least I think I have, but have you heard of a character named Morphicius? Super obscure Hawkman villain from the very beginning of the New 52. I'd love for this guy to come back.
Thought of how i would revise the character. Make him a meta-human who, whenever he vocalizes an onomatopoeia, it manifests as reality. He says “boom” and it creates an explosion, he says “splash” and a burst of water appears. Just a thought
Here’s a concept, for onomatopoeia’s powers. Whatever sound effect he says, dictates what the effect of an action does. Someone shoots at him and he says ‘ting ting ting’ the bullets ting ting ting off him. He flicks someone and says “Crack!” The attack cracks their bones
Cool, but it seems really OP.
@@mr.rogues4145 There could be weaknesses, overwhelm him with too much noise or not enough noise.

That's not really op everything that the original user would be it's connected to this dude's lung capacity.
And his reaction timing.
The best thing this guy has is that maybe he is very talented in mimicking noises and what's why he can sneak up on heroes, like a door creaking behing the hero but it's actually just him
Being a Green Arrow villain is a fast rack to forgotten, so trading up to the Bat made sense, though he should have become a recurring threat in all the nonpowered costume set rather than targeting an A-lister like Batman or joining the rogues' gallery of a nonentity like Green Arrow. Routine appearances targeting the unpowered could have made Onomatopoeia a comic thrill since his gimmick makes no sense outside the comic medium

I'm sorry but Joker saying "Yo Blammy! Ya caught me and Slappy gettin' goofy" is so damn funny
10:00 Who has or hasn't noticed that in this panel, that part at the bottom is perfect because his mask really does look like a big archery target.
I think his back in the new Barman Show
I think so.
