They work due to the temperature (if put in freezer or fridge) the reason some people buy it is the shape works well for eyes , however the spoon suggestion is perfectly viable 👍🏼

Same! Everyone tells me I don’t get enough sleep or I’m dehydrated, but I was born with dark circles under my eyes. Most of my family has them. People compliment me on my eyes a lot, and it makes me even more self conscious, since I know people are looking at them a lot. They just like the color, but it makes me feel like people are staring.

You didn’t mention Vitamin D! I had dark circles under my eyes for years and it turned out to be low Vit D! Started taking it and the dark circles disappeared!

I’m glad that it worked for you because it didn’t work for me. I was extremely deficient of Vitamin D and have to take 5000 IU for a month and then 2000 IU everyday and I have not seen any improvements

I love Youn's supplemental Collagen. I've used it now for over 6 months. I've tried grocery store brands but many give me a headache some add additives, so I went back to Dr Youn's brand. I noticed my joints in my wrist felt better also which I wasn't expecting. I don't know if Dr. Youn knows this, maybe it's just me. My hair feel's full and healthy and I've let it grow longer now. Had dark circles since I was born. My grandpa also had those. We have very skelety faces, very thin skin and very deep set eyes. A lot of bullying because of that growing up, because I looked ' almost dead', ' very tired', 'malnourished', doctors always sending to do bloodwork, bloodwork is always good.. And those dark violety circles come with a almost non existing eyebrows and white lashes (nordic person). So overall I look like a very sick alien. But now for a second year I am doing undereye fillers and they are great. Of course, they doesn`t fix darkness, but they fix holowness and with a little bit of a concealer I`m actually starting to look like a living human being in the age of 33.

There are places in the country where you'd be considered cool. I'm so sorry you were bullied. My sister has a prominent nose and chin and they always picked on her saying she was a witch. Today that would be considered cool, but not when she was young. Hang in there, thank you for sharing your story.

I have been putting collagen powder in my coffee for 4 months now. Although I have not noticed a change in my dark circles, my hair has gotten so much thicker! I went from having fine/thin hair to "normal" thickness.

I had surgery for my undereyes when I was 44. I am 68 now and my eyes still look great. It was the best decision I have ever made. I also do not eat processed foods, sugar, or anything with chemicals. My vitamin D level is currently at 76ng. and I get tested once a year. Vitamin C is also needed to make collagen so I take several forms of it every day. Thanks Dr. Youn for the great video. Would you do one on hooded eyes?

OMG, this is so timely for me. I’m 60 and never had problems with dark circles but lately I see discoloration or darkening of my eyelid and now under my eye. I’ve never had puffiness either. My eyes have never been a problem but now I’ve also noticed, on my right eye, puffy spots under that eye. Not all around the eye or in a half moon shape but literally like lumps of puffs. I have no idea what it is other than another of natures gifts.

I’ve had them since I was a child. I inherited them. When I was 7, my teacher reported abuse because she thought I had black eyes. I’ve tried everything and makeup does help but there is not a definite way to get rid of them totally. It’s the first thing I see in the mirror and it really has hurt myself esteem- I don’t think I’ve been outside my home without makeup since I was 12 because of this.
I got a black eye from my dog head butting me my under eye circles are so dark it looked like nothing happened to me despite being sore for five days straight
Me too. Mine are black and are due to genetics and severe year-long allergies. They’re so so bad...
When I was in basic training my training instructor humiliated me in front of my whole squadron by shouting at me "who hit you? Why are your eyes black?" I wanted to disappear.

You've explained this problem in a very detailed and concise way. I think I fall in the first category where my puffiness happens due to the shadows that were formed because of the fat under my eyes. Under the sunlight I don't see any puffiness at all. It's when I'm in a room which is dimly lit eg. a club that I notice the puffiness and of course at night. I'm going to follow through with your advice. Thank you Doc.

I am 100 percent sure collagen has helped with my skin, hair, and nails. Not sure if it works for everyone but definitely worked for me. My skin looks younger, my hair is fuller and my nails do not break like they did before taking the supplement. I use a hydrolyzed powder version.

Laura Mercier Secret Undereye Concealer is magical for darkness under the eye. I don't even work for her anymore but that and her secret brightening powder are must haves and the two of them are a bit pricey but they last about one year.

I have had dark circles for as long as I can remember and thought it was the dark skin pigmentation situation you covered. I recently learned from a plastic surgeon that I have the opposite of the fat issue where I need some padding. I was in disbelief until he showed me by looking up with a mirror my dark circles disappeared; it was magic! He recommended an eye trough treatment where they use an injectable under the eye to fill in and make the dark circles disappear. It’s called a tear trough fillers. Have you seen this or done an injection for this? I understand it lasts about a year and cost ~$650.
I've had my dark circles since age 13. So I assumed they were caused by hormones. I'm not sure how to fix them but good sleep does help slightly.
if you lay down and look in a mirror, and your circles disappear, you have thin skin. I had dark circles all my life - my skin is so thin it's basically showing a shadow of my eye socket :D

Great tip. Other fixes for dark circles caused by puffiness are manual lympathic massage around the eye area, or applying a cold compress. It take down the swelling in several minutes and can reduce the look of dark circles.

I found out that puffiness under the eyes is caused by dry eyes. It's a sign that the body is trying to make more moisture itself. By applying "natural tears" or moisturizing eye drops at night before bed it makes an amazing difference. I found that out from an eye specialist when my dad had ocular shingles and I hope more women as they get older learn this too! Thanks for all your great videos. We all adore you. :)

Over the counter treatments are a waste of money. I had puffiness under my eyes for years. Let me tell you first hand, castor oil along with rosemary oil will remove the puffiness and dark circles from under your eyes. Make sure the essential oils that you purchase are organic. God Bless You. 🙏🙏

Massage your face, drain the fluid from face. This helps a lot!
A hot wet towel treatment works wonders. A half hour of cycling hot water soaked hand towels at what you can stand daily for a month followed with a weekly session. Also shrinks your pores.
Sleeping on a wedge type pillow to elevate your head and upper torso when sleeping on your back prevents excess fluid from pooling around your under eye areas.
I dont have fluid because i message my face bit still mine are bad .thanks genetics...🙄
i've had very thin skin underneath my eyes for as long as i can remember - even since i was a teen! i think it's just my bone structure and as you mentioned it's so transparent that you can see all my veins under my eyes. I tried under eye fillers once a couple years back and it made a subtle difference but i never thought to thicken the skin using a retinol eye cream so thank you so much! xx

@@varunreddy695 I recently got them filled again and the answer is no for me in particular because I have very transparent skin with veins showing but if you don’t have this problem and just have hollow undereyes then the results are amazing - they did take away my hollowness just not the appearance of veins.

Thank you for sharing this I’ve learned some things as a result! However, my skin gets red and inflamed when I used retinol based skin cream. I try different products: L’Oréal, Estée Lauder, Revlon, Neutrogena, but Olay is still my favorite and is what I’ve been using

You know what I appreciate about this particular Doctor is the transparency. How do you stay encouraging and remain scientifically realistic? NOT EASY. Aesthetic professionals often face an immediate challenge. What once was a respectable somewhat guaranteed profession had changed. Positive and negative ate perception. It would be far and few in between to find a Doctor who is not far more challenged their predecessors. Aesthetic practice has always been very controversial. A plastic surgeon can create a younger appearance but it is far more then superficiality. and takes the same amount of time , commitment and MONEY as a heart or brain surgeon. No less integrity or ethics as any other specialty. It takes courage and diligence to commit and finish medical school My point is support is so very important in this time and age, especially when integrity and sincere effort are integrated. This person deserves every ounce of success available. Just my opinion and a respectful peer.
