- Way more to talk about in this one than I originally intended!
#TheOffice is one of the greatest shows of the 2000s! I’m reviewing every episode with some background, trivia, the deeper meaning, and more. Today, we're looking at the #Customer #Survey episode.
Thanks to our NBC overlords for their creation and ownership of the Office. The clips used here are for reviewing and education.

“A more micro form of management. Jim why’s that called?”
“Microjiment”
The William Buttlicker scene is iconic, one of my favorites. But it's a different scene from this episode that might be my favorite line in the entire series.
"Well, Dunder Mifflin would have to be a front for money laundering, and there's little evidence of that..."
"...is there SOME evidence?"
Jim vs Dwight will never be as good as JIM WITH DWIGHT! remember the time they planned Kelly's birthday
Your format is getting SUPER rock solid... CONGRATS
Speaking of "Psych", you should TOTALLY do something like this series for THAT show lol
Omg I love psych
@@mattbrashfanatic6162 it's amazing I love it tooo.
And community
I SUPPORT THE FUCK OUT OF THIS
Angela getting married in a tent is not a mistake, it's character growth.
Jim saying Dwight was right about the sabotage and Dwight being so surprised and excited about it made my day. Great team.
@5:05:Can something be sad and cringy at the same time? Definitely. How about when young Michael talks about his dream of having 1000 kids so that he’ll have 1000 friends and no one will be able to say no to being his friend (on a kiddos’ show, preserved forever on VHS)?…😣😢
Honestly you are better then so many youtube channels. You need more attention
For the trivia, I believe andy said "Hobo's live in trains"
Yea he did
I feel like "Hobos live in " is funnier... 😂

Thank you so much for these videos! I always watch them while cooking dinner! They’re great
Noice! What’s for dinner tonight?
"the three words I would describe you... "
..."are as follows, and I quote "
Been binging your vids! That episode was so solid to me. Really funny and all scenes worked perfectly! Love the format of your vids!
Omg I forgot Pam’s little excited that’s what she said moment it’s so adorable
Next week: ✈️🇨🇦🍹👩🏼💼🚪👞
I remember that for a long time there was a suggestion that they'd try to get Carol Burnett to be Michael's mom. The generational gap might be too great, and of course they didn't want famous people, but it does seem like it would be perfect. I do wonder, if Steve had stayed on the show, would we have ever met his parents?
So I will say that I have watched the full series before watching your videos, but I did wait for far longer than I should have before watching the final season in full. I own seasons 1-8 on DVD but never bought the last season. It wasn’t until it was streaming that I watched it in full and that was startlingly recent. My reasoning? The show got a bit weird after Steve Carrell left and I found myself caring less and less for the characters, even though I really loved the show in its heyday. I finished it more or less to get through it than out of legitimate excitement.
Your humor is much appreciated.
Another great field guide Chris. By the way, tomorrow is my birthday- period. Haha, I just had to say it. :)
Very cool! Thanks for the kind words!
I'm watching this without watching the Office first cuz in my country i cant find where to watch full episodes 😫 so I just watch youtube clips of it , and now i found this channel and it's awesome
Ahhh ok!! Well maybe a VPN might help out!?
Try prime video
@@SSett It's still on Prime? I thought NBC pulled it off of all other streaming services.
@@reginabillotti I still watch it there , but I don't know if they will pull it
1:57 saddest cold opening??? What about darrell’s birthday/grandma dying?
Oh yeah, I probably misspoke if that’s what I said.
Also this sounds like a video idea...
@@Mulverine 👀
This was such a great review Chris, I laughed so many times on this episode.🤣🤣🤣
June Squibb plays Sheldon s grandmother on the big bang theory and aunt Alice (hot sauce) on modern family
This episode for me is a 5/5. You're right about the role play call scene. It's is the best scene in all of television in my opinion.
Yea! I won the emoji thing for the first time! Thanks Office friends!
Well deserved!
I'd give this episode a 5/5 but 4/5 is good too. I always feel happy when this episode is next.
Definitely need the link to That Office instrumental at 15:00 lol I was vibing lol
The Buttlicker scene is one of the best sitcom scenes ever made. Also, it was unprecedented in the art form of TV sitcomedy. The rest of the episode is strong throughout with many gem moments and an unforced poignancy. It sublimely combines the relatable and the believably ridiculous. 5/5. The world is a bland place without it.
Chris: wears Nintendo shirt
Me: AH, A MAN OF CULTURE I SEE
Seriously, It's nice knowing that I'm not the only person who loves both Nintendo and the office
I'm probably a little late, but rapping michael and holly are at 16:28
3:06 - she played adam sandler’s mom in WHAT movie? hubie holiday?
I’m sorry I really thought Kelly should have faced some consequences for what she did. Jim and Dwight failed to attend her party so Kelly falsifies documents to affects their bonuses. Kelly was a psycho and not a likable character.
I like this episode but can’t see Pam’s art school friend the same way after watching him as Harry in Mad Men (he’s a huge sleaze ball in that show). If you’re into horror, his actor, Rich Sommer, is great in Summer of 84.
YES! I was expecting him to be the bad guy all the time.
Pam made “that’s what she said” i don’t know... cute.
BUTTLICKER! OUR PRICES HAVE NEVER BEEN LOWER !!!
June Squibb is a legend!
Dude please Turn This into a podcast in Spotify
June Squibb got an Oscar nom for the underrated movie Nebraska and was Jack nicholsons wife in about Schmidt as well
I believe, Steven Merchant guested on Big Bang Theory. He dated Amy Farafowler briefly and fan boyed on Sheldon.
Okay, I gotta brag a little. Do you remember the "spot the pineapple" contest on psych? I WON IT ONCE! It was amazing.we got lots of swag in a big box in the mail.
I love your T-Shirts
I think Andy said that hobos live under bridges...but I’m not sure I don’t watch this episode too often ;-;
The Pam talking head is one of my favorites - but the editing here ruins it. I'm so sick of YT censorship policies.
It's not censorship. It's a balancing act between copyright and fair-use, and actually UA-cam uses a clever Content ID system to sidestep a much more restrictive alternative in which online content creators would get sued to death, or even worse, youtube not hosting any unapproved content out of fear of being held legally and financially responsible for uploading copyrighted material. There's a great Tom Scott video about it.
Great watch, cant wait till you hit 100k subs, keep at it bro!!
Isn't the actress playing Michael's mom the same who plays Sheldon's Meemaw in Big Bang Theory?
Jam aren't smug. They are just sane.
Above but creating the nonsense is a good description of Jim
I normally don't like Kelly because her character is probably meant to garner dislike, but when she said "I was raped" it honestly never fails to make me laugh. This sentence would be terrible if read out of context lmao.
It honestly made her character sound even more screwed up. How many times has she done this? And against whom?
This is one of those throw away lines that is played for laughs when its incredibly screwed up.
Not to mention, she was messing with Dwight and Jim's livelihood over a petty reason.
I'll always see Micheal Scott as the 40 Year Old Virgin and that's why i cant help but root for him.
LOUDER, SON!
Alex doesn't have a crush on Pam- he's not straight. I could believe that he's bi or pan, but everything about that character reads Pam's gay friend not possible love interest to me.
I agreed that I thought he was gay
There was originally a lot more to the storyline of Pam's time in New York, and I believe that in that extended narrative, it was more evident that Alex had a crush on Pam. Even after that was cut, the scene with Alex was supposed to include a profession of love for Pam, but John and Jenna both felt that the addition of that drama felt too artificial (Stephen Merchant agreed with them), so this alternate version was used instead.
Regardless, I think it's pretty evident that Alex is supposed to have feelings for Pam. Men who are "just friends" don't seek out a woman at her place of work in the middle of the day to talk about her future.
Michael and Holly at 16:29
Even Office characters have plot armor!
I still don't like the ending of the episode. I do like the part when michael is very open and telling Kelly about being dissapointed but how does that put Kelly above the law? I just feel like they shouldn't have ended it with them laughing at eachother, there was just so much potential for a way more stern and funny ending.
Great videos!
I never really loved Kelly but this was the episode that made me really start hating her.
The client on the phone with Dwight, sounds like the glorified accountant who assesses DM in the Computron ep..
"Weird tornado of feelings" LOL!
Best scene ever!!!
Please do some community videos
Good news for you then!
Mulverine, is season 5 organized like the other seasons? I feel like I have missed some due to youtube algorithims.
Yeah! Should be! I’ve played a little loose with the titles, but they’re all there.
@@Mulverine was one a double episode, so it might look like one episode is missing in the numbering?
Yes! Weight Loss is a double episode. I’ll add the episode numbers to the titles later
to make it easier for people to skip 12:20
Was never a huge fan of this episode. I'll get hate for this, but I never found the Buttlicker joke that funny..... And that Alex guy in NY, he somehow reminds me of a Season 1 Roy, look wise I mean. The difference is Roy kept Pam away from her dreams, this guy is trying to help her keep them alive.
But as always Mulverine, great review! Look forward to the Business Trip episode. One of my favorites!
The William Butlicker part makes me giggle every time I watch it. However I think the whole Alex/Pam thing is boring. What was the point of bringing him on the show? It doesn’t go anywhere.
Anyway, thanks for your channel. I enjoy it
Did you ever watch Young Sheldon?
It’s way better than Big Bang Theory. There is no laugh track so they actually have to try to make laughs and it’s great
Everyone hates on Big Bang Theory too hard, the first seasons are good
@@GregoryJohnson-l1g I like all seasons
I wasn’t aware there was hate. Almost everyone in my friend circle loved that show and would tell me all the time how much I should love it, because I’m a nerd and work in tech.
@@smallgraydonguy Wow, the last 2 kinds sucked imo
@@Mulverine you should watch it if you already haven't, just be aware that there is a decline in quality in the last few seasons, so maybe just skip them
You sorta look exactly like david cross😂

...and yes, less 3's please 🙏
the people who say michael is their most hated character are just being contrarians. there are plenty of worse people on the show than him. jan, ryan, kelly, creed, Robert California, todd packer, etc. sure you CAN not like him for things he's done. but saying that he's literally on top of your list of most hated characters is contrarian stuff.
17:17 Micheal Jackson ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Kelly is my least favorite character. Hit and miss in the best seasons, an outright irritant in the later seasons. Seriously, there's absolutely no reason she isn't fired. And the way they reneged on the whole "Jim actually cares about his job" thing for standard Jim sthick is frustrating. Funny enough episode.

Keep trying to be funny. Those commenters are turds
For the first 9 seasons I wanted them to find Michael Scott hanging in a closet.
I have been watching The Office many times and your analysis is very routine and mundane. You just follow the general analysis. Michael's great evolution, Jim and Pam etc. Michael is just generally an horrible human being and Jim is the biggest villain on the show. Put that in your pipe and smoke it
Jim is so awful.
