I have yet to see a Saab motor blow up from a turbo these things are so reliable and good and it’s why I will always love them
Yeah they seem happy up to maybe 350 or so hp. Then I think pistons might melt.
@@g3mccotter You are thinking of the later b205 engines. The pistons in your b204 should be good for around 450hp.
The transmission on the other hand...😬

well let me be your first, my saab motor blew going 110 on a slight curve. It was stock too so i didnt even get the chance to make it pull more power :(

Nice build . Looks and sounds like fun! I have 1993 saab 9000 2.3 fpt turbo stage 1 5 spd. Its torquey and passes 3 cars . A ng900 like this would be a fun im thinking

@@g3mccotter my aunt has a 95 900 SE turbo convertible with the 5 speed and I pulled off at 145 out of fear for my life but it was still climbing pretty quickly.
I imagine with your turbo upgrade you could easily fly past that

Everything is so clean and then there is your bumper lol. I'm guessing intercooler was to big and you need a 9-3 bumper to fit it. Man it pulls nice! I have a 96 900 turbo with only 46k miles. Just did stage 3. Looking for more but mine is an auto. Need to do 5 speed swap first. Nice job like the top mount setup. You put some serious coin into that ng900 dam. What kind of power is it putting down?
Haha yeah. Basically had to gut a lot of the bumper to get front mount to fit. I didn't dyno it but street tuner who hold fastest Saab record said easy 350 to the wheels. Thing was stretchy fast. Pull the wheel right from your hands. Would hook and book in 2nd just had to have 2 hands on the wheel. 3rd it really pulled hard well the into triple digits.

I know you a lot of it was custom (I have a shop near me that I'll be going to for that stuff) I have been looking all over and i'm not sure which one(s) make sense. I have a 95-900 project car i'm looking to do upgrades nearly identical to yours.
Did you dyno it? How much whp. Nice build working on my 96 right now. Stage 3 so far 3 inch full exhaust tune cold air intake box and green giants. Pulls hard dam!
Tuner figured at least 350 wheel. We street tuned it. He has fastest quarter mile Saab on record also.

Thanks mate! It's a stage 3 excedy from what I remember. Grabs good, quite easy to drive still. Pretty sure it's organic. It's hydraulic now

At what revs does your boost come in?
At around 2500 it comes in, full boost about 3300 in third.
@@g3mccotter iv the same turbo on the same engine so was wondering. I'll have to check mine. Usually going too fast to look as the roads around here are tight. Iv not yet got out of 3rd gear under acceleration but I wanted to know as a base idea. Love your motor. Bet you've shown a few cars up with it :)
Where did you get the parts
Exhaust manifold back is all custom. Turbo was bought new from a local shop. Charge piping and intake all custom. Some off the shelf parts like clutch, pp, flywheel, bov, injectors

How did u tune your t5 ecu?

Nooo way that thing is on 20psi. My 99 9-3 se is that fast with a stage 1 and a t7 bcv conversion. It would sound better without that muffler too.
That's awesome. Do you have video of these claims? This was plenty loud of an exhaust setup. One of my fav sounding 4 cylinders with those equal length headers.

Corners quite good for being stock. It's a fwd coupe with some fairly wide sticky tires handles as good as that would.
Cool car looked about as fast as Volvo C70 stock though

He worked out of his garage. Jzw. This was just street tuned. Dyno shops can tune it for you. Need the right cables and t5 suite

@@JustASaab Yes it should go faster, my 330hp 16T 9-3 ng sometimes lose grip on second gear and is way faster. The backfire say that it could be a bad map.
