I am crying listening to this beautiful, beautiful music and her utterly angelic, yet powerhouse voice. Such a better time then. Hope we can find our way back to civility. Blessings to all, as we plod our way through covid and the devisions in our country.
Sadly, I don’t think mankind now possesses the knowledge to be like we were. As a kid in the 60’s and a teen in the seventies, I’ve seen massive change. Some for the better socially, but much good is lost, especially in music. There’s not much like this music that touches your heart like this anymore… praying for the human condition….

They are one example of why the 60s music has been so great!
Judiths energy is mesmerising. That beautiful voice and peace she exudes is timeless
The fans will miss Judith Jorham RIP juice such a beautiful lady and a beautiful voice she has given the world so much she will be missed immensely I listen to her and think back of all the times in the concerts I made and the people they made happy this is what we share in this world and thanks to the seekers and they’re beautiful music all of them the band Judith your home RIP sweet lady you will be missed
And we have just heard here in Melbourne, Australia...the "HOME" of "The Seekers"...that Judith Durham has passed away..."shuffled off this mortal coil"...due to declining health...at age 79. We all LOVE YOU Judith: R.I.P.
There will never be another. She was great and the others were great with her.
Rest in memory.
Why does there have to be such a great song of its time that brings back people, places and things.
I was thirteen years old in '68, I loved this music then, and I love it even more now....
Brings shivers down the spine.
@John Hadleigh me too!
Judith said in a recent interview she thought her voice wasn't the best.
She was fantastic.
@@LazloNQ It was nice for them to reconnect and the mending for those wonderful, guys, Judith, and the world . This show must have been so painful. It shows on Athol’s , face.
Hard to believe they could have broken up when their music was so incredibly beautifully and entwined. How many more wonderful hits could they have gone on to produce Rich
If they hadn’t, would they have reformed after 25 years, (few groups last forever), and continued delighting us for a further 20 odd years? We’ll never know.
You’re ever among the treasures of the world and forever remembered! Salute~ 🌷💜
I'm so glad the carnival wasn't really over and that they are all still with us.
“The Carnival Is Over”......what sublime singing! She’s had the best voice in pop music in the 60’s.
Better than Aretha Franklin and Darlene Love?
Robert Stevens Judith and Tom Jones great Voices, genuine Talent.
@@alfching2499 Don't forget Beverly Bivens! But We Five were just a one-hit wonder, so nobody remembers her.

I♥️Aretha Franklin and Darlene Love but they were fantastic in a different way

THAT YEAR WAS..LULU...TOO..!!
I'm the same age as Judith. I loved The Seekers in the 60's and I love them even more now. The melodious songs, the perfect harmony and the occasional change of key mid stream give me goose bumps. And as for Judith, she has the singing voice of an angel. I am thrilled to know she has recovered from her stroke. God bless you Judith.
You do realise ALL the Angels mentioned in the bible are male...
So you are saying that Judith sounds like a bloke!
@@EarlJohn61, what’s your point? I was under the impression that angels were asexual. It’s only because of patriarchal writing that they were assigned male names and gender.
Love this 60's music. I was a young girl when It was popular. It's the only music I really love.
There will never be music like the seekers God bless them x
she was the cutest little thing and what a powerful voice
She's still cute today and if anything her voice is even stronger. Amazing lady.
Brilliant voice
She sure was!!!
I was 18yrs old in 1968. I fell in love with her amazing voice. 👍👍👍👍🌺💕🌾🌹🌞✊🏻🌼🌟🥀💐🌸❤️
Their talent and harmonies are a gift from God.
Great act, well done The Seekers.
Yes, it does shivers down your spine!!!
They are national treasures. They bought happiness to so many people. Judith has the voice of an angel
She is so radiant i would have fallen in love with her in heartbeat , what a singer .... and what a group !
It was the time, when life was easy like this kind of music.
Their music are truly wonderful... I will miss them...
Like a drum, my heart is beating... every time I listen to Judith's flawless voice.
You can't autotune your way into greatness of this calibre. Judith is one of just two perfect female voices there ever were.
Karen Carpenter
Nope, Judith is the only one, Karen had a weak and limited voice
Such an. Amazing voice
Great video of the original seekers , thank god they’re still with us ,🙏🏼
Superbly done these gems, Richard. Your research, dedications, sincerity in collation over decades, all multimedia edits/video audio A***. Thank you. I remember the 1968 event (and reactions from the sudden closure). I was then in school, Melbourne, thanks kindly my late father Visiting Snr Lecturer OR/Statistics, Monash Univ (1967-70) (he loved Seekers music, Judith's superb vocal, being expert Indian raga s music, himself.).
They will have their own place in the history of popular music. Unique and very special. The one and only seekers.
That voice Seekers of the 60s RESPECT.
I was born in June 68. A privilege to be alive when this happened. A truly beautiful thing on every level.
Judith Durham has the most gorgeous female voice in the world
One cannot quantify the true joy this lady brings to the world accompanied by the male SEEKERS
Judith Durham's amazing voice is as clear as crystal. She sounds almost angelic.
Angels are usually portrayed as masculine...
Are you suggesting that she sings like a man?????????????? ;)
@@EarlJohn61
You know what she means.
We know that all the angels ever recorded have male names however when someone says "angelic" they mean like a choir boy high, sweet, crystal clear and trilling like Charlotte Church and Aled Jones
♥️🥰🇯🇲🏴🕊️🔥✝️
@@EarlJohn61 Wise guy
Not almost angelic. Actually angelic.
Yes fantastic voice,
I always told mom I felt was born in the wrong year because I felt this music was mine. We sang to the heart, love and values in life !!
Magistral !
Fueron, son y serán los mejores !
Todo en ellos es bello, sus melodías, sus voces, su imagen, su carisma y todo...
Ella, sin palabras !
La más hermosa !
Sad last song indeed. Musical groups staying intact is always a challenge. So much like a family, and change is always very difficult.
Like rolling Stones
Linda csnciones, gracias Judith, Dios la bendiga.
Amen
I know I grew up in the best of times, and the Seekers were an unforgettable part of it.
So pleased I grew up in the 50/60s
What a powerful voice. Sublime!!
Forgot how great they were. Enjoyed listening them again.
A voice to heal any pain, felt from life !
Sensational, they look like Mammas and Pappas, and some of them from the quartet are still active today. Liked it.

The wonderful age when music was music.
Yes, they could sing in tune and hold a note with good quality... not like so many modern outfits.
You are so right, what an era in music 🎶.
So right a great time for music

hearing and seeing jJdith Durhan wil allways bring a tear to my eye.her voice beauty , dress and moves are sweet beynd measure
Think how much beautiful songs we last because Judith left the band but luckily they were reunited.
I am always amazed at the poise shown by Judith in these final songs, given the finality of the situation. Her pitch is amazing, no sign of the emotion that is more evident in watching Bruce and Athol.
I agree. I did detect some emotion with "harbor lights" at 4:55.
smiles softly.. cuz she was kinda glad it was over.. at least that's how she felt back then..
@@qwertyqwerty6099, that is true. It's an interesting contrast with Bruce who looks very sad. What is interesting is that throughout the entire hour he hardly looks at her once. And when she gets the flowers at the end he briefly looks annoyed.
@@jeffschroeder357 nodding bunches.. noticed that.. much later she said in an interview that she regretted her decision.. shrugs a bit.. byegones.. we still can enjoy the songs that they did perform..
I love Judith💙❤️
The voice of an angel - Judith Durham
Brings back my youth days l was just 15 yrs old my favourite song Georgie girl
WONDERFUL VOICE.
What a voice. Judith was one of the best!
This is the classiest musical group of all time. 4 great people indeed.
Música, magnífica de esas épocas hoy muy vigente en 2020 Ricardo alegría Zambrano popayan Colombia.
I was an American kid living in England for two years. One month before I left the country I grew to love so much I saw this concert in 1968. I didn’t know who they were or what this was but I just was glued to the TellyThroughout this whole concert. But when they SANG Georgie girl I was so moved with the joy but I thought to myself how sad I’ll be in America I will never hear this song again. Little did I know Georgie girl was a bigger hit t in America than in England! I still love this song and the seekers
Great story .... yes. they took a chance and sailed to England, only expecting to be here 10 weeks, they were young and had no idea whether anyone would even like their music ..... how wrong they were!
Judith=the best for ever.
How sad, but what a beautiful voice and what brilliant harmony.
Tenía 8 años ahora tengo 60 años y si recuerdo este tema que bonito!!!!
I just love the Seekers
I was 6 when this was broadcast and the carnival is over song rung out. My mum and dad had just split up.. Man this song said everything at that time.. sad memories of a wonderful song.
I'm the same. Was coming up for my seventh birthday and on holiday at my grandparents house in Ireland. I remember my aunt breaking her heart crying when The Carnival is Over was played and that has stayed with me after all these years. I've often mentioned it to her but she can't remember it. I can't believe I've found the actual footage of that concert from all those years ago tonight and i can't wait to show her it. Hopefully it will jog her memory. 😁
Que hermosas canciones y voces , nos traen lindos recuerdos , canciones que jamas moriran , mujer hermosisima la vocalista , los años pasan muy rapido
Esta mujer tiene una voz angelical.
If I were in the audience, I would've been bawling my eyes out
Me too what I would give to have them back for just one more time I'm a sentinel twit nothing is forever
Great great music AND a beatiful group, a pity they were gone so early ! Love them
They just went in 'different directions' , that's all ..... one of them founded the New Seekers later, who themselves were quite successful.
Super. Just super. And also very sad it was their last concert. The best group ever! Their music will live on forever!
This will always make me cry. very deep memories
Какая прелесть и голос и как выглядят молодые люди, вот это эстрада прелесть💕💕💕

Un grupazo de antaño, y la vocalista canta como los dioses.
Wonderful! Thank you for this lovely concert!
Joyful start to finish! Thank you, rich963, for this wonderful ‘Final Concert’ 4-part series (especially knowing that The Seekers later reunited (& that you have many other videos of their incredible performances)!
I had never heard of this group until now. Didn't know they were the Georgy Girl band. I have watched many of their videos since and am enthralled with Judith and the technical perfection of the group.
They stormed the charts here in the UK in the early sixties when they had the awesome might of the Beatles, Rolling Stones , and Motown to contend with ... but there was no holding the Seekers , they even knocked the Beatles off number one!
I think 'Georgie Girl' proved to be their biggest seller , and i'm pretty sure it went to number one in the US charts.

@@TwiggyArmstrong Honest enough to be a politician. :)
I wonder when it first occurred to the Seekers they had goofed by splitting up back in '68. If it took 25 years until their reunion in '93, well, better late than never. In any event, as far as this Yank is concerned, they'll forever be the finest singing group ever assembled, and God through His grace clearly gave Judith the most beautiful voice any woman will ever have.
Good taste mate
Judih had an idea that she has to get married and start a family at 25yo at the latest. I belive that's the reason she left Seekers in '68.
@@tilend89 As I understand it, Judith wanted to resume a solo jazz career that was interrupted when she joined The Seekers in 1962. She and Athol both worked at J. Walter Thompson in Melbourne. She married English musician Ron Edgeworth in 1969, but they never had kids. Much of their marriage was marred by tragedy:
- In the 1970s Judith's parents died.
- In 1974 her Swiss bank collapsed, leaving her almost bankrupt.
- In 1990 she, Ron, and their road manager were badly injured in a car accident near Melbourne. The driver of the other car, a teenage girl, was killed.
- As she recovered from the accident, she learned that Ron had motor neurone disease (ALS or Lou Gehrig's in North America). He died just before Christmas 1994 at age 56.
After The Seekers reunited, Judith had a near-fatal brain hemorrhage in 2013. Fortunately she survived. I sent her this song that composed itself in my head, to a very recognizable tune; I e-mailed it to Judith, and an aide replied that she was thrilled with it.
Hey there, Judith Durham
Leading up The Seekers through the years
You and all your mates gave us lots of fun
And memories too - then suddenly
Hey there, Judith Durham
You had quite the nasty scare that May
But your mates stood by you all the way
And you pulled right through
You ne’er were scared of changing and rearranging yourself
Nor scared of jumping down from the shelf
More than a little bit
Hey there, Judith Durham
You had quite the rocky road ahead
But you brought out all the strength you hid
And, oh, what a change there's been
The world has seen a new Judith Durham
smwca123 and she had only committed to a few years with the seekers. She left at the time she had discussed with them at the start.
@@donnebes9421 So she said last summer...a childhood respiratory condition caught up with her again, putting a stop to any more travel. That condition was mentioned in her 1997 appearance on "This Is Your Life".
