Im a fan since Netflix documentary. Incredible live gig in 1970, despite a basic sound system and simple staging (not a video screen to be seen). The incredible voice, songs and talent ooze from every pore of CCR.
So cool to be able to see these live. John Fogerty is a legend. I love every one of his songs. Don't really understand what happened with the CCR band and lawsuits. Sounds like some jealousy and back stabbing going on. John wrote all the songs, played lead guitar and sang all of them too. John Fogerty is CCR.
Every thing you say is true but CCR had a special chemistry together and John was not able to recreate that chemistry with anyone else. He was the only one in the group with marketable talent as a solo artist. The others were let out of their contract and John was not.

They made an album called Mardi Grasss. Was a big failure. JF was tied by a contract to a record company via lies from Stu Cook the bassis and his jealosy FOS brother second quitar. JF got mad at that and stopped creating and singing for 20 years.

It is so great to see this footage. Johns voice was so gutsy and raw back then. For some reason it changed and got higher during the thirty year John Fogerty ice age brought on by Zants or what ever the fuck his name was. That prick derived us all of Johns music for three decades.

So much great music in such a short time. Too bad they couldn't have held together for a little bit longer. John was definitely the driving force behind the band, but together they sounded really tight musically. I've see John Fogerty shows when his new band plays his CCR hits, but it just doesn't *sound* like Creedence, if you know what I mean. They had a unique sound when playing together that hasn't been duplicated. Been a fan of CCR since 1968 and the music never gets old...that's when you know a group or artist was something special.
