  • Another fantastic edit of mobile phone footage found online. Thanks to elixir101 for having the patience to do this.
    Peter Tork was so intrigued by this DVD that he asked for a copy to be sent to him.
    You can buy this DVD online, but why? It isn't elixir101 selling them - he wants this to be shared for free. So please do share it.
    Also, check out www.monkeebootlegs.com and monkeesbootlegs

    It is so much fun to relive the past. Look how many people were there at the concert! I hope we can get through this present crisis of the Corona -virus isolation. I want to go to concerts again. I have all these tickets to go to plays and concerts, and they had to cancel them. I love the energy one feels being there in person. This looks like it was a great time at this concert. I will always love the Monkees. You guys will live in my memories. RIP Davy and Peter.

    Peter was always complemented by Mike, Micky, and Davy for his ability to play a total of 7 instruments. They always said that he was most musical member of the Monkees.

    I was at this show. So grateful to see Davy live as he passed away the following February 💗 Wasn't born until the late 70's so didn't get the experience them the first time round. Saw them live for the 1st time at Wembley in 1997 😍

    BTW, i remember going out for a saturday with an older relative and during the walk home we stopped at a store where i was bought the 45 rpm "Last train To Clarksville". I had later gotten the 1st Monkee's album as a Xmas gift. My local TV stations didn't carry the TV show in 1966 B.C.( before cable) ,but during re-runs larter on I saw the show in Colour and already knew about the Monkee-Mobile from a 1966 GTO by George Barris.I actually liked their style more than the Beatle's .

    Can't believe they did "Saturday's Child" and "As We Go Along", the former, unfortunately, is only included here as a snippet. "All of Your Toys" sounded great, too. It's nice that the material from "Head" was really given a separate section.

    Wow, this is actually available on DVD? I did notice there were cut offs at beginning of a number of songs, though. I would love to own a version of this on disc if possible. For the 13 credited camera people who got together for this project...thank you all from the bottom of my heart, because people who love their songs and music are unconditionally like family to me. The shots of Peter & Davy singing duet style in "Shades Of Grey" as well as Davy singing "I Wanna Be Free" really had me crying hard. I was aware that Peter was starting into Chemo Therapy since I noticed his cropped hair in 2001. I read he had a portion of his tongue surgically removed, I think before this tour, so I was surprised he was able to sing as well as he did. Davy seemed to look a lot more well considering his death was barely a year away. I was lucky to have seen two shows in Summer 1989 when they were more fresh and bursting with energy, and without thoughts about death tugging at their elbows. I did have a front center seat at one of the shows, and all three of them were within point blank range. I am now looking at turning 60 and aware that you must be some decades younger, so thank you all for keeping the positive spirit going. Please keep in touch.

    The whole intro was great and a certainly a piece to reminisce better times when we were all younger. I saw the Micky and Mike show a couple weeks ago...great fun but without Peter and Davy it was a more melancholy for what's ahead. Micky was my favorite Monkee and to see Mike join him was a true delight though it was clear there was some cognitive issues happening. Enjoy it while it lasts.

    Wow!! I know the video/audio isn't that great but this is such a fantastic concert!! Thank you so much for the work putting this together; I really enjoyed this immensely. I think this is one of the best shows they've ever done and and a real honor doing it at the Royal Albert Hall. Micky is in fine form and so are the others. I wonder why they didn't have this professionally recorded; it would have been worth it. THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS!! : D

    All of your toys a great and deep cut. Too bad the person recording this didn't pan Peter's parts enough. Synthesizer was the backbone of this song.

  • @garywood9525
    @garywood9525 11 років тому +9

    Don't be fooled by Davy on tamborine as the no talent musician of the group, you need a keen ear to the beat and play it while you sing. The drummer keeps the beat but remeber, you don't always have the stage speaker for feedback for the other musicians. After awhile you learn everyone elses sheet music to take the cues for your parts rather than counting out some rests .
    Check out the 2000 movie "daydream believer" about the Monkee's history. Filmed in California and Toronto canada.

    • @lindas.5191
      @lindas.5191 2 роки тому

      @@jocook17 He really did not look well or as lively as he usually was, but you have to give him credit, he certainly gave his all. Such a shame the cancer came back, but he lived another decade. I don't know if that was a blessing or a curse as I never heard of him complaining, and the last year or two I never heard a thing about him. So sad. He was my favorite by far.

    That video thing at the beginning was WAY to long in my opinion. And that guy on the guitar in what looks like a white shirt who stands with his legs so far apart pretty much the whole time, he seems like some rock star wanna be. He looks silly.
