Probably as a sellsword traveling around Essos. In some of the animated lore vids, he talks about having to fight Dothraki, Unsullied, and other sellswords.
"Me and the lads rounded up all the known thieves" Bronn understood the point of the gold cloaks with scary precision. I mean, Daemon's original gold cloaks' first act was... Exactly that...
Wait, so by rounded up, you mean he killed them all? I thought he merely arrested them. Also, the original goldcloaks as shown in House of the Dragon were, how do I put it shortly, BRUTAL. A hand cut off for robbing, another limb for treachery and your "nether parts" cut off for rape. I don;t think Bronn's goldcloaks would even do something close. You can rule by fear, but without respect and credibility, the minute the townsfolk find an alternative, they will rebel and throw you out with full force, severing all the goldcloaks limbs in the process and granting them ghastly deaths.
You know, despite Geoffrey and Cersei being thsee, this was peak King Landing politics. Both Varys and Little Finger on "the same page", Tyrion as hand, Bronn as the gold cloacks commander and The Hound as the personal bosyguard. That was Kings Lansing at the peak of strength in a post Robert Baratheon world. Imagine if it was Tommen who was crowned instead of Geoffrey. A fairer king, treating Sansa fair, having not executed Ned, and treating Tyrion with love and respect, etc. Kings Landing would have been impossible to succesfully invade. And that is without Selmy and Jamie.

Yea 6 feels like where it starts to really lose it.. recycled plot and lazy rushed dialogue. The whole thing is gradual decline after 1-2 really which are masterpieces, then just devolves into steaming poo by 7-8.
That's because "pig shit" was their nickname for Wildfire. When Tyrion says "pig shit" he was referencing Wildfire to Bron. That's why he says it seriously.
It's hard to choose a favorite character in this show, but Varys is definitely one of them. He has worked himself up from the streets to where he is now. He's still able to feel empathy and his overall lfe goal is to contribute to a better world. And he's very subtly funny.
Though being truly authentic you’d have a hard time reading any of them. Damaged pages, dirt or grime covering up text. T’would be exciting seeing the videos of people translating it though……early on till it became copy and pasted by others
@@TheKpa11 Real medieval books weren't like that. In fact, people who did own books treated them better than their own children. Books being "dirty" is just another Hollywood glamorization.
George RR Martin has released "Fire and Blood" and "The World Of Ice and Fire" which are written from the perspective of in-world authors trying to document history, they're both incredible reads I very much recommend picking them up if you haven't already. Fire and Blood is an awesome biographical work following the lives of Targaryen kings from Aegon's Conquest to Aegon III's ascension/end of his regency, whereas TWOIAF is more encyclopaedic in nature and covers literally the entire known history of the world, or rather the fragmentary myths that make up said history.
@@SergeantExtreme How is representing medieval books as dirty in any way, shape or form "glamorous"? Also, yes, books _would_ be overall dirtier in an age where cleanliness was difficult to maintain compared to nowadays.
"Tactics win battles, logistics win wars." Bronn understood that in a siege, basic supplies like food and water are far more important than strategies cooked up in battles from centuries ago.
How would Bronn's brilliant insights not be in any of those books? The whole concept of a siege is that it's a starvation fight. You surround the city so they can't get supplies, then you keep your own supply lines running until they run out of reserves.

Or a survivor at Duskendale?
Probably as a sellsword traveling around Essos. In some of the animated lore vids, he talks about having to fight Dothraki, Unsullied, and other sellswords.
Alternatively, he could have been a soldier in an army besieging a city and winning.
2:10 Varys.exe. Has stopped working
"Me and the lads rounded up all the known thieves"
Bronn understood the point of the gold cloaks with scary precision. I mean, Daemon's original gold cloaks' first act was... Exactly that...
He could have kept some alive for interrogation in case he needed them later.
I know, ironic.
@@muhammadeisa1459 or just interrogate them before killing them
Holy crap, Daemon and his Gold Cloaks were cold as frick.
2:10 You can hear Varys saying inside: My birds!
He would not kill little kids
@@attiepollard7847 It's not just child spies working for Varys. See Jorah
@@attiepollard7847 Varys was a Thief even if he dont use thieves, he thinks about himself getting kill in the Young LMAOOOO
also maybe he knows about some thieves he was in Kings Landing in the Aerys 2 reign, all Robert and now
Is like 30 years maybe ?
''For questioning?''
The way he asks that hahaha
Bronn: Me and the lads rounded up all the known thieves.
Tyrion: For Questioning?
Bronn: No, hanging.
They're probably in a soup by now
Bronn is such a jewel
@@codibick I'd use him in a state of emergency.
I love how Bronn always kept wearing this obviously too long vest, like some beggar, but still one of best swordsmen there existed.
Not one of the best swordsmen. One of the best fighters. He didn't rely upon his sword. He fought dirty, and used whatever weapon gave him the best advantage. Sword, knife, crossbow...
The little pronunciation bet they played and Tyrion's face when Varys confirmed Tyrion was (closer to) right is so good
Bronn brings the sort of wisdom the books leave out
Lol varys’ face when bronn says “uhhh no”. Makes sense considering he used to be a thief in his younger days to survive
I defy you to find 4 minutes of dialogue anywhere with more storytelling, character development, and motivation. Brilliant.
I love that Varys subtly snitched on Bronn with his compliment of the “marked downturn in thievery.”
Gods, the dialogue was unbelievably well crafted early on.
I’ve rewatched this scene more times than I’ve watched all of season 8
Well yeah, I mean, this was back when the show was great.
The "what" "what" to me is such good acting, like genuine response whens someone annoys you lmao
1:33 How Bronn answers it wrong with such confidence🤣🤣
1:00 is hilarious 😂
“What?”
“What?”
“What?
The essential difference between 1-4/5-8
Even stupid dialogue was funny, meaningful.
@@asepheleleshabalala1352 5 and especially 6 were still good. Dont lump them in with the trash that was 7-8
Yea 6 feels like where it starts to really lose it.. recycled plot and lazy rushed dialogue. The whole thing is gradual decline after 1-2 really which are masterpieces, then just devolves into steaming poo by 7-8.
@@el34glo59 the dialouge in ss 5 was worse than the previous ones if u noticed
THe way Tyrion says "pig shit" with intention of humor while still looking as if he says it seriously cracks me up every time...
That's because "pig shit" was their nickname for Wildfire. When Tyrion says "pig shit" he was referencing Wildfire to Bron. That's why he says it seriously.
The conversation about the thieves is so funny to me. Just how Tyrion reacts to Bronn's "uh, no..."
I love the way Bronn sounds like Blackadders Baldrick... (same view of life, I presume...) 😅
The changes on Varys's face's expression while Bran is talking are just fantastic... womderful actor's play here!
Ohh god after rewatching the whole series 7 times it was today i realized tyrion was referring to the wild fire pots when he said pigshit
"Me and all the lads rounded up all the known thieves."
"For questioning?"
"Ah no..." LOL
At the end
Tyrion: "Pig shit."
Varys: "..is that a reference? I just got here, what are you talking about?"
Favourite game of thrones scene . This, battle of the bastards charge, and tyrions trial speech . Gold.
Love how after Bronns rise in authority during this conversation, he goes back to cleaning his nails.
It's hard to choose a favorite character in this show, but Varys is definitely one of them. He has worked himself up from the streets to where he is now. He's still able to feel empathy and his overall lfe goal is to contribute to a better world. And he's very subtly funny.
I really wish they published real copies of in-universe books like the one Tyrion read in the real world.
@@TheKpa11 I was more referring to the books are about than the actual texture of the books.
@@SergeantExtreme How is representing medieval books as dirty in any way, shape or form "glamorous"? Also, yes, books _would_ be overall dirtier in an age where cleanliness was difficult to maintain compared to nowadays.
I like how Tyrion is completely stumped until Varys walked in. It was like Varys had a "+100 to instant ideas".
“Ah, the great sieges of Westeros, thrilling subject. Shame D&D weren’t better writers”
With all his intellect, he would rarely never get one over on Bronn. So entertaining, this duo.
Tyrion's tone of voice when he says "For questioning?" always makes me laugh
The look on Vary's face at 2:10.😆
"Tactics win battles, logistics win wars."
Bronn understood that in a siege, basic supplies like food and water are far more important than strategies cooked up in battles from centuries ago.
Why is that?
Tyrion Reading the book cover is the best part
Bronn's finger tapping is pure asmr in my ears. 😂
I love the small hand gesture Tyrion makes to Bronn when they didn't learn the pronunciation of the author's name
I think we all deep down want to be like Bronn; getting that bird's eye view and just seeing the world for what it is, no romanticism.
How would Bronn's brilliant insights not be in any of those books? The whole concept of a siege is that it's a starvation fight. You surround the city so they can't get supplies, then you keep your own supply lines running until they run out of reserves.
Shivielthin was a dismal writer, that’s how
Conleth Hill's facial expressions in the background were one of my favorite parts of the show. 😭
Sept. 6, 2018----First time I heard of this series was some time earlier this year when my aunt commented on how she watches every episode. My response was: yawn. But then I watched one, quickly followed by others. Which means I want to buy the tv series AND all the books just so I can compare the two. Thanks for the video clip.
After seeing HoTD what daemon does to the criminals first as the commander of the city watch this is such a cool parallel
3:02 George RR Martin knows GOT. He knows which storyline is the strongest, he knows which Season is the weakest. Season 8. Could destroy the fanbase in minutes and it's only 6 episodes long
I’m sorry but this is the best scene in the history of HBO.
It’s up there, for sure
1:58 - Bukele's policy in El Salvador!
Love those small moments when Bronn reveals himself to be smarter than you expect, even if he screwed up the pronunciation
What..?
What?
Why you staring at me?
Lol that part had me 💀

uh no
lololololol lmao
The best pair of friends in series, loved their banter in the books
Brilliant acting...pure gold
This scene reminds me of high schoolers cramming the night before a test. “Planning the defense of the city, Stannis will be here any day now”
Brilliant acting, all three off them, in all their scenes, their characters are masterpiece. But here they are very funny, too. :D Absolute joy to watch them. Tyrion is my favourite.
When Brawn was low key the smartest and most practical person in that room bringing all the others back down to earth.
i love the irony of bronn saying he likes to keep his hands clean, when his profession as a sellsword requires him to "get his hands dirty" often.
