Bronn had raised himself to one knee, his sword in one hand and his dirk in the other. Tyrion saw the glint of moonlight on metal. “Our mountain,” a voice called out from the trees, deep and hard and unfriendly. “Our goat.” “Your goat,” Tyrion agreed. “Who are you?” “When you meet your gods,” a different voice replied, “say it was Gunthor son of Gurn of the Stone Crows who sent you to them.” A branch cracked underfoot as he stepped into the light; a thin man in a horned helmet, armed with a long knife. “And Shagga son of Dolf.” That was the first voice, deep and deadly. A boulder shifted to their left, and stood, and became a man. Massive and slow and strong he seemed, dressed all in skins, with a club in his right hand and an axe in his left. He smashed them together as he lumbered closer. Other voices called other names, Conn and Torrek and Jaggot and more that Tyrion forgot the instant he heard them; ten at least. A few had swords and knives; others brandished pitchforks and scythes and wooden spears. He waited until they were done shouting out their names before he gave them answer. “I am Tyrion son of Tywin, of the Clan Lannister, the Lions of the Rock. We will gladly pay you for the goat we ate.” “What do you have to give us, Tyrion son of Tywin?” asked the one who named himself Gunthor, who seemed to be their chief.“There is silver in my purse,” Tyrion told them. “This hauberk I wear is large for me, but it should fit Conn nicely, and the battle-axe I carry would suit Shagga’s mighty hand far better than that wood-axe he holds.” “The halfman would pay us with our own coin,” said Conn. “Conn speaks truly,” Gunthor said. “Your silver is ours. Your horses are ours. Your hauberk and your battle-axe and the knife at your belt, those are ours too. You have nothing to give us but your lives. How would you like to die, Tyrion son of Tywin?” “In my own bed, with a belly full of wine and a maiden’s mouth around my cock, at the age of eighty,” he replied. The huge one, Shagga, laughed first and loudest. The others seemed less amused. “Conn, take their horses,” Gunthor commanded. “Kill the other and seize the halfman. He can milk the goats and make the mothers laugh.” Bronn sprang to his feet. “Who dies first?” “No!” Tyrion said sharply. “Gunthor son of Gurn, hear me. My House is rich and powerful. If the Stone Crows will see us safely through these mountains, my lord father will shower you with gold.” “The gold of a lowland lord is as worthless as a halfman’s promises,” Gunthor said. “Half a man I may be,” Tyrion said, “yet I have the courage to face my enemies. What do the Stone Crows do, but hide behind rocks and shiver with fear as the knights of the Vale ride by?” Shagga gave a roar of anger and clashed club against axe. Jaggot poked at Tyrion’s face with the fire-hardened point of a long wooden spear. He did his best not to flinch. “Are these the best weapons you could steal?” he said. “Good enough for killing sheep, perhaps . . . if the sheep do not fight back. My father’s smiths shit better steel.” “Little boyman,” Shagga roared, “will you mock my axe after I chop off your manhood and feed it to the goats?” But Gunthor raised a hand. “No. I would hear his words. “Conn speaks truly,” Gunthor said. “Your silver is ours. Your horses are ours. Your
hauberk and your battle-axe and the knife at your belt, those are ours too. You have
nothing to give us but your lives. How would you like to die, Tyrion son of Tywin?”
“In my own bed, with a belly full of wine and a maiden’s mouth around my cock, at the
age of eighty,” he replied.
The huge one, Shagga, laughed first and loudest. The others seemed less amused. “Conn,
take their horses,” Gunthor commanded. “Kill the other and seize the halfman. He can
milk the goats and make the mothers laugh.”
Bronn sprang to his feet. “Who dies first?”
“No!” Tyrion said sharply. “Gunthor son of Gurn, hear me. My House is rich and
powerful. If the Stone Crows will see us safely through these mountains, my lord father
will shower you with gold.”
“The gold of a lowland lord is as worthless as a halfman’s promises,” Gunthor said.
“Half a man I may be,” Tyrion said, “yet I have the courage to face my enemies. What do
the Stone Crows do, but hide behind rocks and shiver with fear as the knights of the Vale
ride by?”
Shagga gave a roar of anger and clashed club against axe. Jaggot poked at Tyrion’s face
with the fire-hardened point of a long wooden spear. He did his best not to flinch. “Are
these the best weapons you could steal?” he said. “Good enough for killing sheep,
perhaps . . . if the sheep do not fight back. My father’s smiths shit better steel.”
“Little boyman,” Shagga roared, “will you mock my axe after I chop off your manhood
and feed it to the goats?”
But Gunthor raised a hand. “No. I would hear his words. The mothers go hungry, and
steel fills more mouths than gold. What would you give us for your lives, Tyrion son of
Tywin? Swords? Lances? Mail?”
“All that, and more, Gunthor son of Gurn,” Tyrion Lannister replied, smiling. “I will give
you the Vale of Arryn.”
and at this moment tyrion became my favorite character
Waldorf: I don't think this show is suitable for children.
Statler's grandson: I don't think this show is suitable for anybody!
[all three laugh]
I was half expecting Shagga to demand a shrubbery.
We are the knights whose say ni, oops, sorry, I am Shagga , son of Dolf, we watched Holy Grail on cable last night.Tonight we will cut out your hearts and eat them raw before your dying eyes.
Shagga, son of Dolf... Its hard to imagine this is the same actor that played Captain Canady of the First Order-Dreadnought, as well as General Pikalov in Chernobyl.
Mark Lewis Jones is a véry underrated actor.
Wow, I would have never noticed he was this general in Chernobyl : )
I actually liked Captain Canady of the Dreadnought
" You will bring us... A SHRUBBERY!"
"You must cut down the mightiest tree in the forest WITH... A HERRING!"
Shagga, Son of Dolf, of Stonecrow : "What is this?" 👐
It is such a master storyteller behind all these wonderful scenes from Game of Thrones. And Tyrion is his great character, his Falstaff. Peter Dinklage has his part of a lifetime.
"My father will shower you with gold"
This hits differently after episode 6
I still had to wonder where the idea of Lannisters way to please people is to throw gold at the problem started... Since their ancestors in HoD didn't much
10 years ago, holy shit. Seems like yesterday I was watching this with my bros.
Awesome bros.
“Take the half-man. He can dance for the children.” Just… damn. This show had great lines at one point.
A scene from when Game of Thrones was truly great.
"Come share our fire!" 🤣🤣
Awesome fire.
When you put all your points into charisma
I think the show could have done with more of the mountain tribes
The lad playing Tyrion is probably the most enjoyable character i seen in tv or movie so funny and yet so smart.God given talent and determination have made a great great actor
They went from this type of speech, to:
"yOu hAvE nO coC"
If he had S8 dialogue, I am pretty sure he would be dead.
"I don't want to hear Bronns screams. I don't want to."
I like the fact that Tyrion makes a point of looking back up at Shagga after he's been cut. It's like he's saying, "See what I mean?" The little head tilt Shagga does is icing on the cake.
I've watched this series three times over now and only on my fourth viewing did it click that Shagga & Letho have the same actor! Such a fucking badass voice.
Wait a minute Shagga is Letho from the Witcher?
***** Yeah! I even checked it and it's the same guy. :)
OD Music Holy shit if only he had Letho's abilities here then he would be the most dangerous person in the a song of ice and fire world
***** Just give him a silver sword and some potions and he'll take care of those White Walkers for you :)
OD Music Maybe not i kind of feel like the night king is sort of like the Unseen Elder a huge asshole and hard to kill
Bron : aye, we're friends. And when have you ever risked your life for me?
Tyrion : remember the Stone Crow?
Tyrion true diplomacy. True genius turns an enemy into a friend.
Bran flies past at the end there to save Tyrions life 😂
Tyrion's the best character in the book! I laughed really hard when he said how he wanted to die!
"Lannister Smiths SHIT better steel..." Nice.
back when Tyrion's IQ was triple digits
Shagga was like this is funniest thing I ever heard...a man after my own heart.. I like this guy. Also funny how Tyrion in bargaining with them still giving them backhanded comment after backhanded comment 😆
when you max out speech on an RPG
I've noticed Bronn often gets interrupted before he gets a chance to kill everyone; this scene, his confrontation with The Hound, Ser Meryn Trant.
I dunno... I give him about a 25% chance of getting out of hot water if he tried it with the Hound. The one way he had any chance was if he was significantly faster.
I started watching this show recently and a week later I replayed Witcher 2. Never would I have imagined that was none other than Letho's VA right there.
Miss this smart interactions in S5-8
"You think you can win us over with your trinkets?"
*Proceeds to get won over by a trinket
1:48 Good enough for killing sheep, if the sheep don’t fight back. Oh that was hilarious 😂
Legend has it the stone crows hide behind rocks and shiver when the knights of the vale ride by
Man this scene is so awesome. Sad we never got to see the stone crows fight the vale soldiers with actual armor and steel.
Tyrion in season 1 was able to convince a man who wanted to gut him to not just spare his live, but also join him in his cause.
Tyrion in season 8 was able to say that he does not like children's screams.
Well, when you figure out how to speak Dragon, let us know how convincing you are
2023 and am here......I come for "and what is this"........😂😂😂
This scene alone is better than the whole Season 8 combined.
the dump i took this morning is better than season 8
i give you this.... "holds out hands".. shaga whats this... "tries to do the same"
Remember when GOT had "neutral" groups that would still impact the storyline?
The show felt "large" back then, no small world syndrome.
Season 1-2 Tyrion was peak fiction
Letho of Gulet.
I just keep picturing Tryion dancing for the children...hahahaha
I'm a little sad these guys never came back. I would've liked to see more of them.
Did Tywin put them in the vanguard of his attack later? I'm pretty sure they just add them into the army and put them into the most vulnerable spot to have them all killed lol.
@@Synthetic-Rabbit in the books they joined Tyrion in King's Landing then were bribed to go home. So a happy ending apparently.
Thank you - I did actually end up looking that up not long after making this comment and I almost came back to edit or delete my original post but... it is what it is. It's been many years since I've read the books and I'm overdue for a re-read.@@Nordique777
I wanted to see Tyrion dance for the children
Holy shit *6 years ago*
Holy shit 9 years ago
@@RevorML holy s*** 10 years ago!
Holy shit 11 years ago but this scene is still interesting
Oh shit 13 years ago
I’ve met a few shaggas in my days.
It’s better to be brave then safe.
Bronn is such a badass lol lemme take out this sneaky blade as well
pretty sure Bronn could have killed those tribesmen. He's the most undefeatable character in the series
He has inside jokes, with strangers.
He has won awards, for his game face alone.
Bronn, is the most interesting man in the world.
Shagga is...THE DRAGONBORN !
Come, share our fire, help urselves to our goat
Awesome goat.
Tyrion before lobotomy!
Tyrion would reply with "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, then a frontal-lobotomy!"
S8 Tyrion: lol, Varys no cock
Shagga: Hehehe alright, you can go
Tyrion is the only man on Westeros that can get ambushed by hill tribesmen and not only survive the ordeal, but actually benefit from it.
tell Tyrion i want that ring back
Shaggy, son of Dolphin
Shagga plays Letho in the Witcher 2 lol
0 CGI better than S8's last four episodes combined.
The tribesmen had a great deal of importance on the books, having actual roles around Tyrion, on the shows they appear in 1 episode IIRC.
In the show, I think that they’re not just with Tyrion when he makes it to Tywin’s war camp, but also as part of his entourage when he gets to Kings Landing.
(Though, I still need to read the books; it’s interesting to consider that these guys have more importance there.)
@@inkubus6192They help him terrorize Pycelle. It's awesome.
He can dance for the children, he can leave his friends behind.
too bad Bronn, Varis, Podd and Tyrion are not together... there were the best in this show
yea podd is barely used now..
Well Tyrion and Varys have teamed up with Daenerys and are heading for Westeros as of S6E10. Knowing Bronn, canny chap that he is, he'll probably defect to aid her cause once he hears that his old friend Tyrion is Hand of the Queen. Then it'll be just like old times.
One of the best scenes of got. All the characters nailed the scene
Letho of Gulet
