Hey you should be wrapping the exhaust in heat wrap or putting down some heat shielding on the plastic as the supper charger will bring the operating temp much higher especially with such a small motor

Plastic airboxes are a thing and they don't usually melt, it will be fine for awhile then will fall apart lol.

I would remove the blow off valve, with a draw through carb configuration and the BOV located below the supercharger its not doing anything useful anyway.

That type of system does not require a blow off valve, its creating a huge vacuum leak when it opens. Only time you need a blow off valve is when the throttle plate is post turbo/supercharger.

Maybe in this draw through setup that BOV act as a pressure relief whenever a backfire happens so the pressure won't hurt the supercharger.but the released contain combustible air+fuel,so be careful

You could consider recirculating the blow off valve back into the intake, post filter. Might loose a bit less air fuel mixture under boost. I'm super stoked about this project. Keep up the good work

@@prodzektownia it would still be relieving the excess boost from the high pressure side of the supercharger. Not sure how you think that routing the excess air to a different location would stop it from functioning.

The carb will shut the air off going into the charger. The blow off valve is just a leak and headache with the setup the was it is.
If the carb was after the supercharger and the valve was before the carb then the blow off valve will work as intended

14:17 was like that looks like a Subaru blow off valve flange and then you said you got it off a Subaru so that's probably what it is

Throw a lectron carb on it probably be easier to get it running smoothly
Is this motor a single or dual cam? You might end up needing some new cams with slightly larger lobes. Probably do some slight milling to smooth the intake/exhaust flow. Make a timing adjustment to finish off. Maybe even play around with the jetting. Alas, great video! I'm looking forward to the finished upgrade.
Its not gonna live long they dont seem to have any kind of way to retard ignition in boost for now
The Honda crf450 has 2 cam shafts. That a good idea
@@leodavenport4417 The Honda CRF's & TRX450's aren't DOHC engines...they're Uni-cam...which is a single cam.

Grind Hard Plumbing. Cool build guys, make sure to give her more ring gap before you bust a piston, also are you running any kind of fuel pressure to the carb? You will definitely want to, also get a larger bowl or atleast set the floats as high as you can before it starts spewing out. Just a couple tips for you guys.

@@davidreynolds731 if youre running too rich the engine isnt going to run as efficiently as it should
@@scubascuba there’s nothing wrong with a bov shooting flames, in simple terms, we often change the timing on cars so that the exhaust ports open sooner too let the tail end of the “explosion” proceed through the exhaust to spool turbos faster. Once it spoils the bov opens to let excess gassed out as to not build too much boost.

What's the point of the BOV? It's after the throttle, so it's not really bleeding off excess air, more just acting like a vacuum leak when it opens
Where did you get your muffler packing from? Ive had trouble finding good stuff in the past.

Just started video and I can't believe that exhaust is restrictive. Its nearly 2" on a motor that size. There are cars out there with bigger motors and smaller exhausts than that haha.

You guys amaze me. I have alot of ideas i never do anything with. Less timing, more fuel read the plugs after a good chop. Belt tension for sure. Nothing makes measurable boost without load. I bet the higher gears will pull way harder than before
