I switched to Logic from Studio One back when it first went Atmos long before Studio One did. $200 free updates for the past decade, always compatible with your OS. But I only mix and master stereo and Atmos in Logic. I still track in Studio One 5 Pro as I prefer the comping and event based processing. And I compose in Maschine because it's super fast with a Maschine Studio & Jam combo.
I don't know why you would record 3 separate perc tracks in 3 passes into 1 drum instrument, then split it out into 3 separate tracks and switch them to the sampler. Why not record it into 3 separate tracks of sampler in the first place and save all those steps?
You’re absolutely right Mr Calderon. My template is full of sample ones for the drum programming, i never use impact XT because it makes a little bit more complicated and i like fast workflow. the thing that i would like them to change also is being able to drag and drop a sample directly into the track in the left so it loads directly into the vst (sample one ) instead of having to open the instrument
DMD is literally the main thing that keeps me on Logic. It’s a game changer. To add to your points… you can bring a drum loop to quick sampler, slice it up, THEN convert to DMD and have your slices chopped. THEN if you wanted to, take whatever track…let’s say the track with the hats, and convert the midi output to the step sequencer. So for making rolls or pitching, it’s easier. But anyways, great video. I just subscribed 💪🏾
in pattern mode, right click the pitch pot on Impact on the pad you need to pitch and set the automation to the pattern and there you go: you can now change the pitch for each of the pads independently for each hit. you can also automate almost any parameter per event just by dragging the little automation hand (top left of window) to the event and holding alt/option before letting go. that's available for every pad. pro tip: once you split by pitch you can set each of the channels to the corresponding mixer track in the info panel so it'll be 1 to 1 between arrangement view and mixer view. from there you can a just create Track presets and you never have to do it again.
Can't say I have much need for pitching individual drum hits up or down but I can see why the Logic approach would be a game changer for the types of genre you mention. I don't make electronic dance music and use mainly multi-sampled acoustic drum sounds where the pitch is (very subtly) higher (and very subtly brighter) if the velocity is higher etc. I also decrease the transients a tad on the softest hits for extra realism. Keep the videos coming as they're great.
S1 is great but they are always late to adding features for best makers. I haven’t used logic but I realized from your video that you can program 808 in the drum machine too. I wonder if you can slide notes from the drum machine though
Ivan!!!!! Thank you! Thank you! Bolo Da Producer made a similar video recently. Man, I posted the video on one of the Studio One Facebook forums and guess what? They flagged me and deleted the post. Never had this issue until Fender took over.

But i suppose i can also just dive into your videos LOL Also on a separate note -- i've been using Studio One because i'm a singer-songwriter first, but have been co-producing my tracks in session and getting interested in doing it myself too! I'm not sure if i should buy Logic atm, but this was pretty convincing since it seems like a great learning tool as well since it automatically names the different drum patterns. I always found creating drums the most intimidating part of getting into production honestly!
Also Logic has a step sequencer that I prefer to use for drums. I've never used Studio One so I am not sure if it has that but it's definitely something I miss when I use Ableton.
Man you are one of a kind! At last someone had to tell the truth that studio one needs some improvement ! I use macro for layering...mostly orchestral instruments and synths...for example if a play one lead thn with macro m able to create two or more layers with different instruments with different octave...it really helps in layer in seconds....and even widening including the panning left and right.
I was using studio one for more than a year, and i loved it because of how they were integrating hardware with the software like the faderport…. But since the Fender deal I don’t think they are going to focus on hardware that much. Seems like they only care about the subscription model.
Hello Ivan, you can pitch the notes individually in semitones (48+ and 48-) without having to create extra tracks or use Sample One. To do this, you have to create an automation track with the destination "Sample Transpose" for the respective pad in the lower automation section (where you can also set the velocity). Example: New (...) Create -> Bank A -> Pad 1 -> Sample Transpose. You can then determine the pitch for each individual note in the timeline of the automation line. This may sound complicated at first, but it is quick done and clear because the drum editor grid and the automation line are displayed one below the other. These automation points are also not lost if you move or duplicate an event, etc. However, there are also disadvantages, because on the one hand the sample is not stretched by pitch (so it is always played back at the same speed) and on the other hand it becomes problematic if you want to pitch a lot of pads, because then all the tabs in the lower automation section are labeled "Sample Transpose". You then have to memorize the sequence or count them off. But for one or two pads, it's very practical and quick to make. But that doesn't matter to me anymore. I was so annoyed by the last update and the harassment with the exclusive content that I switched to Cubase after 10 years of Studio One. Their drum sampler is also significantly more flexible; You can assign multiple trigger notes to a pad and then pitch and modulate whatever you want there. The pad can then be triggered with the respective modulations using the piano roll quite regularly and without any tricks. It's a shame actually, I liked S1 but I no longer support this coercion and business behavior.
You are spot on...I agree, no shame, in a world of tedious production tasks, every second saved counts at the end of the day...And will be much appreciated.
mate, you have a pitch bend machine right there in studio one in the same exact screen as every midi note... no need for sample one, and all that work. just pich up or down as much as you want
Hey Ivan, do you know why IMPACT XT will not let me overdub? For example, if I record kick and snare in one go, it will allow it, but if I record a kick stop the session and then try to record snare record over the kick. And I don’t hear the kik at all. Can someone please help. I hope my explanation makes sense. Thank you.
I really really really want to be able to group / mirror plugin parameters across tracks. Like guitar sims for stereo panned rhythm guitars for example. Great for dialing in. Pro Tools and Cubase has that feature in group options for real time parameter miring across certain plugins on certain tracks that are grouped together. This feature is also badly needed for atmos mixing and mastering. It’s such a simple feature I’ve been waiting for years for. I won’t upgrade again until it’s implemented.
You can - click on the channel header and copy the channel setting, then paste it into your opposite channel. Or, you could click control D and it duplicates the channel strip, then just pan them opposite. Edit: this is for Logic 👍🏼
@@fattommy4436 Yeah I know that. I know a lot about studio one. That technique on dialing in a matched stereo tone like heavy stereo guitar sims becomes guess work and a whole lot of back and forth. The feature I request and have used on pro tools before is simple and important. Studio one is better in most ways that’s why I’m requesting it and not using pro tools or Cubase. I want it in studio one
This is exactly why I've been opting to avoid the impact plug-in unless I'm just doing a demo. I also wish we could steal pitch automation on an audio track like you can do in abelton (think tape stop effect on a vocal). Needing to add a plugin separately, or creating a completely new track with sample one just for the effect is a pain. Love these videos!
Great job Ivan, I have been a Studio one user for over 10 years and agree with everything you said about the much needed Studio One upgrades. It is definately has the easiest workflow and is my favorite daw to record in. I hope you are able to make a part 2 to this video showing how you can drag a sample in to Logic's timeline and it will give you chioces how to use your sample. Logic offers amazing ways to manualy chop and minipulate samples, or have the Logic drum sampler chop them for you.The sampler allows you to choose the traditional trigger mode or select the all black or all white keys to trigger notes in the sampler. One of my favorite drum programming features in Logic is the quantize slider. This is a game changer!!!! While programing my drum patterns, I can drag the quantize slider back and forth in real time and hear the affect for the quatize to dial in a human feel. That is amazing!!! If Studio one would add models like these to their daw along with a new cusomizable file search system and new usable vurtual instruments and samples, I would probably never look at another daw again. I hope Presonus will see this post. This would blow the competition out of the water.
I recommend looking into Logic for a step sequencer for this purpose. You'll discover some more nice features there. With it, you don't even have to split into separate tracks to create melodic parts. You can do it right inside separately for each sound by shifting to the desired note. But all this is dangerous :-). Fall in love with Logic :-)
I've heard that there haven't been many significant updates over the years for S1. It seems as if S1 is the Final Cut Pro equivalent in the DAW world. Obviously, you can get done what you have to get done in it; it works incredibly well, especially for those who have mastered it. But, compared to Davinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, or even Capcut, FCP is severely lacking on all fronts. It appears S1 is in the same boat.
Love the flow. You hit the nail on the head with a sledgehammer. Hope they are listening and it's not something hard for them to do. Great job my friend
I miss in studio one the Ableton sampler (simpler) method to chop samples. Just drag and drop no matter about the tempo or length (loop) of the sample...
I bought S1 Professional just coz of the chord track, but I still struggle with rest of the things. So work mostly on Logic only. With the help of Toontrack Ezkeys , the chords management is even faster now.
I originally got into Studio One because I wanted Logic but hate using Macs! Hopefully videos like this will help Presonus break out of their complacency, because we’ve had these complaints for years at this point.
We need to open a forum post for this feature and just push it. Would be awesome to have it. Work around could be a template with multiple instances of the sampler then you good to go. Works for me :) but the feature would be nice
This Logic's drum machine is so fantastic! Unfortunately I can't run Logic Pro because I don't have Mac. But I wonder what keeps Presonus so many years from updgrading their Impact, which acts and looks so outdated today? I hope they plan to do it in Studio One 7.
I agree Logic has a great workflow but a crazy flaw is you cant browse samples while the beat is playing. So it just makes drum machine designer and every sample browsing option in logic a huge pain. I just use 3rd party software (maschine 2.0) to program my drums.
You CAN browse sample while the beat is playing, the issue is that during playback Logic will try to align the downbeat to your project's BPM so it takes a while for it to calculate this, hence the short delay between clicking and the sample actually playing.
@@drvoodoo3073 Still an incredible inconvenience. The work around is to make all your samples 24bit. I download sample packs all the time and having to convert every file to 24bit just to browse while the beat plays SUCKS! Thats why Im stuck with using 3rd party software for drums.
You missed out.. trying to record and edit into the piano roll editor. I recommend you check out Logic Step Sequencer.. you can transpose a snare/hat/808 or whatever on a single pattern row.. yep.. including rolls, dynamics, etc..
so many more issues regarding sampling that weren't even covered here: - when chopping samples in the timeline and dragging these into impact, sometimes the samples get truncated, sometimes not (makes no sense!) - cannot freely drag samples between impact and samplext back and forth - cannot select samples from multiple padbanks at the same time - cannot move samples, or complete banks between impact instances - if different sample chops have different pitches, it's not possible in impact to keep the pitch relation/offset, while transposing them simultaneously - once one has chopped samples in samplext, its practically impossible to add some more samples into that one xt instance, without completely killing wf - if one wants to use another sampler, ie. kontakt (to avoid all this mess), one cannot drag a selection (or even the entire sample for that matter) from the arrangement timeline directly into the open kontakt instance, which is something that can be done in at least ableton8 with kontakt5 and not to hate on logic, quite the contrary, wasn't aware that this feature/wf made it to logic, but maschine (i know i know, not a full daw), has had this from the beginning - a piano roll for each sound, within a group bank i like S1, but def don't love it lol
This is great Ivan!!! I am mostly using Logic and Ableton, a bit of FL Studio, would you still recommend getting Presonus? I am waiting for one, also got Nektar Aruba, not sure which one integrates better :) Any help appreciated
Thanks Ivan, always love your stuff and I think you are spot on with Logic's Drum workflow...very cool, I must admit that the best thing about the FenderSonus thing is that for the 1st time in more than a decade, I'm seriously at other DAWs and I'm impressed. For me and my style of production, other tools (Lile Live 12) offer way more than I expected and compliment the creative side of my process. I only wish I had looked years ago. Thanks for all you good stiff and thank you PreSonus.
This would be awesome in s1...another thing i would like to see is adding 16 levels to impact xt...instead of manually adding the same high hat with dif. Velocitys across my atom...one click and bam
I'm more of filmscore and not so much into beats, so this might be a very dumb question or I just totally don't get it, but why don't you automate the pitch knob for example for HH, this pitch is per patch. And you could just make a track preset of: 8x Sample One (I don't think that is very hard on your CPU) tucked together in a bussed folder track all adequately labelled. Then every sample even has his own sfx and on the corresponding track you can even add more sfx. It's all on recall with just one drag. Ohhh damn my fellow downstairs says exactly the same 🙂 BTW I've also been looking at Logic as an alternative after the S1 6.6 subscription move. When Presonus decides to make real DAW features, liken an updated version of Sample One subscription only, then I'm out. Logic has a lot to over too and is for my line of work perfectly sooted and ha ha also looked at Cubase, but boy it's just so ugly, feels like back to Windows 98.
It took logic to reprogram the whole ExS24 to sampler to the results your talking about where alll the stock plugins are inter working together as one with the ideal of summing trick
I do mostly rock music and metal but find these type of videos really interesting for comparisons sake. What you should do next is to compare Cubase 13 arranger track vs Studio One. This is another area Studio One is really lacking (and I still love it).
Hey Ivan. Great video would be good see an upgrade to real time strip silence like logic in studio one. Cleaning adlibs in studio is a bit painful as the strip is hard to use. Also stop tape effects like logic would be a good upgrade
to keep it plain and simple Presonus does not care about producers. There is no reason to upgrade to S1 v6 unless you want to mix in atmos. Overall Logic care about its users, has better plugins and has a lager sound library than S1. I think once I get the chance I am moving to Logic
The new Studio One has NO - ZERO Akai MPC or Akai VIP compatability as of 6.1.2 and have no plans of fixing it as i have emailed them from November until now..Stil no Akai love and all my projects use Akai MPC…So this should let you know that since the school updated we have NOT been able to open our projects with Akai plugs so we have been going forward with different DAWs as we cant downgrade to 5 because 6 doesnt open in 5…havent used SO in months…
i switched to logic in 10.7. it has plugin sandboxing which stability was my biggest issue personally with s1. so when u right click the sample in quick sampler. you get a retune option. dont get me wrong it doesnt work every time accurately but it does a lot. but when you tune the drum you can make melodic percussion rolls very easily. i prefer s1s piano roll and automation but overall logic is def better tool wise. sample alchemy is sick. alchemy is sick even though modulation is slow to use, step fx, phat fx, chroma verb (my favorite reverb period some presets suck though its wild) they have some really cool fx ones like the wobble. but yeah logics sampler is sick. logics samplers are sick. dont forget you can import waveforms and samples into retro synth, sample alchemy, and alchemy. and as i said you can tune in quick sampler but also inside of drum machine designer you can. there is a wrench in the top right with other features. s1 has overall better workflow but logic is just better period, sry i know your not looking for these comments when just showing hte problem with sample one and impact. but logics sampler is what made me leave s1 period. the sampler makes my life personally so much easier. if s1 improved theirs i could be back but now that i have sandboxing on logic idk very stable daw.
Ivan you didn't talk about the crossfade and time stretch algorithm inside Drum Machine Designer and Quick Sampler. Even stock tuning plugin inside logic, no formant shifting in S1 for over 13years, no clipper, no transient shaper, no haas effects or align delay like Ableton. No third party note fx, no dope stereo shaper or wider, chord track is limited compare to what you get inside cubase, no chord suggestion, no mid side plugin, no FM plugin which is really important when making amapiano and Afrobeats. S1 is lacking a lot, we only decided to use it for the love we have, but presonus is talking our love for granted.
Cubase is the most complete daw but it is to clunky to work with. The workflow is to slow and the gui is ugly and outdated. No Step Sequencer, Samplebrowser is painfull. Logic have fantastic instruments and effects. The Samplers are one of the best, but the Samplebrowser is the worst of all Daws out there. To preview samples u have to stop playback. 😖 U cant even search insert effects by typing the name. Ableton Live is the best of all when it comes to work with samples. Fantastic new Browser in version 12. Nice pianoroll with cool new Midi Generators. But still missing important things like ARA, a basic Clipgain, bounce in place, dolby athmos…. Studio one lacks in instruments and some effects, but the workflow is goat level. Creating a send effect with a delay? Just drag and drop a delay in the send inserts. It automatically creates everything. Try this in logic, cubase or ableton. Things like this keep me using studio one. (The limiter in s1 have a clipping mode. Haas effect? Just use a delay 😂)
@@iliravdyli4109 How can you say Cubase is the most complete DAW and yet admit that there is no step sequencer or sample browser? Also, you don't have to stop playback to preview samples, the samples DO play during playback but there's a slight delay because Logic is trying to align the downbeat to your project's BPM.
@@drvoodoo3073. Even though Cubase doesn't have anything like a step sequencer (like logic, s1), it still has most of the features. Yes thats correct logic try to sync the bpm for long samples but have you try to preview short samples like kicks, snares, hats?
@@iliravdyli4109 Logic always tries to sync the BPM, for both long and short samples, it doesn't matter whether it's short or long. For short samples it will try and sync up the initial transient
I automate the pitch control to do that in impact. Pretty easy. I get the old fl studio way. But. Meh. Maybe s1 could have a note pitch option like velocity in the midi editor. That would be nice. Or just copying what logic does would be nice too. I kinda like automation on the pitch wheel of impact. Can get some kewl bends of the sample along with pitch changes.
You don't need to use sample one, You just right click the pitch knob in impact and add as automatization, and just up or down as You wish, pretty easy, just like change velicity, and with the patterns mode is the same thing, just like work with probability. Love You videos man, i know that is not the same but the fl style isnt the only one, You don't need to do it necesary with midi notes.. but it Will be great if Presonus let You Open a sample of impact in sample one with one click .. cheers🍻
Studio one has a drum pattern thing almost like FL studio for making quick patters too. But I don't use any of those, I use MPC in studio one. nothing sound better than a machine tailored to making drums sound like DRUM 😅
MPCs basically are just software, like any other DAW running on a PC. Sorry to disappoint you. It's a computer with an MPC hardware form factor. That's it. Lol Can't believe people are still writing this stuff in comments.
I had so many people telling me to change my main daw to Logic that I went ahead and purchased the little guy. I've been trying to get familiar with the daw. BUT there's just something about Logic that I don't like 😕 I'm so fast inside Studio One tha there's no other daw besides FL Studio that I can do a lot in just a couple of minutes. Logic has a lot of great tools but there's just something about it that keeps me away from using it. Studio One is amazing.
Logic is cool, but Studio One is a lot better if you are working on a macbook, because of vst3 support you’ll be able to resize the plugin windows. Just switched from Logic to Studio One. 😄 Your thoughts in this case are right, but this isn’t such important to me. But for others maybe. 🤷♂️ btw: really great videos ivan! 👍 i love your stuff! 👌 keep going 💪 greetz from germany 🇩🇪✌️
former hardcore S1 user here. Now back on Logic and Cubase 13 - and finally very happy. S1 lags in so many ways.... S1 has the worst boring plugins and lame uninspiring sample content. Presonus cant build Plugins!!! They only steal features from other daws like Cubase and Logic. And S1 6.6 is a desaster - only a few people uses this Atoms stuff!! and the new synth "Lead Architekt" sound like an old Roland Rompler from the 90s. Why??? But it´s ok, I will sell my S1 license.
I deleted my PreSonus account and walked away. No regrets. Cubase 14 is insane. Logic 11 is great. I think presonys is past the point where they could add the easy stuff in huge gulps and have their users cope on (amazing free feature updates). Now... they're budget Avid, Lol.
LPX has the best stock plugins and more options to do for one specific move!!!! One of the reasons why I chose to learn LPX first!!!! LPX will always be the GOAT 🐐 🐐🐐🐐 for my work flow!!!
The Linear phase low Pass Filter on the Pro Eq3 is stellar but I think they should use the same technology in all band and the ability to turn on or off Linear Phase, also adding M/S mode to it will be phenomenal, Sample One Xt should detect the pitch automatically for any samples, adding a library of Midi groves for all genres plus midi drum grooves for all genres to Impact XT, Improve Fat Channel Xt to add more than 1 eq or compressor or better yet: separate those modules to use as single plugins and add more bands to some of the EQs and M/S mode, also a few preamp emulations can be added, AND ADD SOME PRO PRESETS TO THOSE MODULES...even though it's a far stretch but invest in some type of automatic time alignment tool and/or real time pitch correction tool, a tape machine can be adequate, but Studio One Pro is still the best.
What do we think of Logic's drum flow? Is it something you'd want to see in Studio One?
Fender should hire a company like native instruments, arturia, spitfire… and let them develop vst exclusively for studio one. That would be the best solution.

It's a shame actually, I liked S1 but I no longer support this coercion and business behavior.
yes ivan we need this feature in s1 asap
It's not the daw it's your workflow. You should be using a sampler instead of a drum machine for what you are trying to accomplish.
Thank you i agree.
the file browser in logic pro is broken.
the automations as well.
logic is the best daw as soon as these two are fixed.
Fast forward two months Ivan starts releasing Logic tutorials lol
Good suggestion on this. I love Studio One . currently using SO5.... Hoping to see if they take your advice for SO7 lol
This is good criticism- presonus can and will make improvements. Good stuff.
Talk About Custom Track Icon...Cant Wait For It To Get Inplimented
5:03 it’s called velocity in FL
This is a spot on comparison. Hopefully we see some change soon.
Looks pretty interesting but it's pretty much doable in Reaper as well with Lanes.
Please Presonus……Listen to this guy
Is this not available in Ableton Live?
I appreciate u taking the time to make this video. People from fl been living smoothly since they started and we been clenching our fists . 😂❤
im a studio one user is my first daw but i hate impact i dont use it at all. always i used sampleone
You missed out.. trying to record and edit into the piano roll editor. I recommend you check out Logic Step Sequencer.. you can transpose a snare/hat/808 or whatever on a single pattern row.. yep.. including rolls, dynamics, etc..
so many more issues regarding sampling that weren't even covered here:
- when chopping samples in the timeline and dragging these into impact, sometimes the samples get truncated, sometimes not (makes no sense!)
- cannot freely drag samples between impact and samplext back and forth
- cannot select samples from multiple padbanks at the same time
- cannot move samples, or complete banks between impact instances
- if different sample chops have different pitches, it's not possible in impact to keep the pitch relation/offset, while transposing them simultaneously
- once one has chopped samples in samplext, its practically impossible to add some more samples into that one xt instance, without completely killing wf
- if one wants to use another sampler, ie. kontakt (to avoid all this mess), one cannot drag a selection (or even the entire sample for that matter) from the arrangement timeline directly into the open kontakt instance, which is something that can be done in at least ableton8 with kontakt5
and not to hate on logic, quite the contrary, wasn't aware that this feature/wf made it to logic, but maschine (i know i know, not a full daw), has had this from the beginning - a piano roll for each sound, within a group bank
i like S1, but def don't love it lol
This is great Ivan!!! I am mostly using Logic and Ableton, a bit of FL Studio, would you still recommend getting Presonus? I am waiting for one, also got Nektar Aruba, not sure which one integrates better :) Any help appreciated
Why not relating the velocity to the pitch in impact for that hat pad?
Bro I think I'm ready to make a switch. S1 isn't going in the same direction as me.
Ohhh damn my fellow downstairs says exactly the same 🙂
BTW I've also been looking at Logic as an alternative after the S1 6.6 subscription move.
Thanxxxx! Impact needs a key mode
Damn i didnt know this but i never use impact, anyway, use sample one always since u have full control on every sample
I do mostly rock music and metal but find these type of videos really interesting for comparisons sake. What you should do next is to compare Cubase 13 arranger track vs Studio One. This is another area Studio One is really lacking (and I still love it).
I need a fix for opening up MPC as a VST within 6.6
Great video Ivan,
I usually automate the pitch control in Impact to achieve the same thing, but I see your point.
Hey Ivan. Great video would be good see an upgrade to real time strip silence like logic in studio one. Cleaning adlibs in studio is a bit painful as the strip is hard to use. Also stop tape effects like logic would be a good upgrade
It would be better if we could change the key of an 808 in Studio One's Impact XT.
to keep it plain and simple Presonus does not care about producers. There is no reason to upgrade to S1 v6 unless you want to mix in atmos. Overall Logic care about its users, has better plugins and has a lager sound library than S1. I think once I get the chance I am moving to Logic
The new Studio One has NO - ZERO Akai MPC or Akai VIP compatability as of 6.1.2 and have no plans of fixing it as i have emailed them from November until now..Stil no Akai love and all my projects use Akai MPC…So this should let you know that since the school updated we have NOT been able to open our projects with Akai plugs so we have been going forward with different DAWs as we cant downgrade to 5 because 6 doesnt open in 5…havent used SO in months…
omg this is what wanted for years studio one better update now
Step sequencer took everything up a notch tbh
i switched to logic in 10.7. it has plugin sandboxing which stability was my biggest issue personally with s1. so when u right click the sample in quick sampler. you get a retune option. dont get me wrong it doesnt work every time accurately but it does a lot. but when you tune the drum you can make melodic percussion rolls very easily. i prefer s1s piano roll and automation but overall logic is def better tool wise. sample alchemy is sick. alchemy is sick even though modulation is slow to use, step fx, phat fx, chroma verb (my favorite reverb period some presets suck though its wild) they have some really cool fx ones like the wobble. but yeah logics sampler is sick. logics samplers are sick. dont forget you can import waveforms and samples into retro synth, sample alchemy, and alchemy. and as i said you can tune in quick sampler but also inside of drum machine designer you can. there is a wrench in the top right with other features. s1 has overall better workflow but logic is just better period, sry i know your not looking for these comments when just showing hte problem with sample one and impact. but logics sampler is what made me leave s1 period. the sampler makes my life personally so much easier. if s1 improved theirs i could be back but now that i have sandboxing on logic idk very stable daw.
U cant even search insert effects by typing the name.
@@drvoodoo3073 yes and you think thats a good thing? Thats a mess. Its broken.
Love You videos man, i know that is not the same but the fl style isnt the only one, You don't need to do it necesary with midi notes.. but it Will be great if Presonus let You Open a sample of impact in sample one with one click .. cheers🍻
LMAO. This is an awful suggestion.
I never use impact XT sorry, I always use SAMPLE ONE 💯
didnt even get to the step sequencer in logic pro
Hell Yeah!!! I want to see that is S1!
me too
i wanted that too in studio one
Studio one has a drum pattern thing almost like FL studio for making quick patters too. But I don't use any of those, I use MPC in studio one. nothing sound better than a machine tailored to making drums sound like DRUM 😅
MPCs basically are just software, like any other DAW running on a PC. Sorry to disappoint you. It's a computer with an MPC hardware form factor. That's it. Lol
Can't believe people are still writing this stuff in comments.
Studio One is the king of all DAWs
That is a really great workflow for drum programming!
instruments work flawlessly in logic. instruments in studio one is an absolute nightmare that will probably never get much better
Would a macro help speed this process up in S1? I have too much time in S1 to jump ship over the 6.6 release 🤣
It won't be as seamless as this, but I am working on something.
Logic is cool, but Studio One is a lot better if you are working on a macbook, because of vst3 support you’ll be able to resize the plugin windows. Just switched from Logic to Studio One. 😄
Your thoughts in this case are right, but this isn’t such important to me. But for others maybe. 🤷♂️ btw: really great videos ivan! 👍 i love your stuff! 👌 keep going 💪 greetz from germany 🇩🇪✌️
Nice One Ivan anywhere but Studio one at the moment
That would indeed be an improvement. or that you can simply integrate the drum machine into Studio one THX 4 the vid.
Wow this would be nice in s1 ,
S1 is kind of way back compared to other daws drum programing wise 😢
Hopefully, we see some improvements soon!
That would be an awesome thing if presonus did that
The problem with logic is the terrible sample browser. U cant preview your samples while the beat is playing.
This is one of the things I was talking about in the beginning. S1 still has to catch up, but they do make things like the Browser so much easier.
@@ImIvanCalderon lets hope version 7 is the 🍀 lucky number
Great upload, I've been requesting the same thing . I hope this gets noticed ..
Bitwig has the most intuitive UI of any DAW…but sadly they are lacking in arrangement tools and their MIDI editor needs improvement.
Luckily good for apple user... I'm a window user ... ableton 12 window based
former hardcore S1 user here.
Agreed !!
Hence why FL is the GOAT for beat making but we are stuck with S1
Logic really did a good job with this. My FL studio friends still give he a hard time for using Logic…
Great video
