ZK, I love your videos. But being an X-farmer makes me wonder how I would cope with the charges for your knowledge and skills. Of course, John Deere builds what it can sell. And you fix what’s broke. Ouch from my point of view, but I’m an old man.
Hence the lawsuits against JD. They know how much money they’re making with service and ensure lock-in by not making repair information available, and ensuring it’s impossible to repair without paying a JD dealer if it involves anything electronic. Which means everything.
And JD isn’t the only one either. McDonald’s relationship with the company that makes the ice cream machine for the, (which makes other models that ARE reliable) is getting hit with lawsuits too. Hopefully at some point we will have federal right to repair law enacted. States are starting to pass legislation though.
They could build and sell tractors without component protection for example, but it would mean less money in the parts and service department. I'm not American, but it's great that Biden supports right to repair. I'm even surprised that corporate allows ZK to publish these videos 😅
In 1997 they said the same thing about Fendt with their terminal and advanced electronics. But those tractors are still going strong with 20.000+ hours on them. Ofcourse some have their issues but they outweight the comfort given.

Hi ZK i have a master tech question for you. I have a 2011 9570 combine. the problem i have is that we can not get a set of thermostats to last more that a few days. the thermostats fail by cracking, this causes the engine to never get hot enough, only 1 bar on the guage, then that causes other problems with power ect when we are running in cold weather. there is no oil in the coolant and no coolant in the oil.
@@jimsfarmingandfun9498 has your dealer looked at it? Without actually looking at it myself it’s hard to say. Doesn’t make sense that they would break like that. I haven’t seen a 6.8L do that before.
@@ZKMasterTech yes the thought was they were bad thermostats. The original set failed the dealer put in a set and I put in a set. And now at least one is failed now. 2300 hrs on engine. I'm looking for a heavier built thermostat, because they are kind of flimsy
@@jimsfarmingandfun9498 Just a thought, but I'd check that if there are any thermostat bypass systems that recirculate the coolant, that they aren't plugged, blocked or otherwise disabled, that could cause abnormally high pressure against it...

So happy I don't own a tractor like this, they are very complicated . Can you imagine owning this tractor without a warranty?
If it is those splines, what causes them to shear themselves off? Inteerested to see a part 2 of the actual failure part.
Probably a pump locked up is my guess.
U would think u could change an address to allow oil flow rather than having to plug in that jumper cable. Atleast they thought of steering
That would be handy. And it would be nice if the back up system would provide pressure for the park brake like the 8Rs do.
Do you also have a video of fixing this John Deere 9570R tractor with now charge pressure?
Just pulled it into the shop. Just got the pumps in today.
Is there a max limit on distance you can tow like that before you start tearing up the transmissions, clutch packs etc due to no oil circulation?
Should be fine as long as you go slow under 4mph and don’t go a terribly long distance.

John Deere dependability. hmm
They all break. He is just man enough to film the video.

Question why can't it just use the backup system to disengage the park brake?
Wish I could but it's not tied into that circuit on a 9R.
