@@sydneyw7742 I'm glad you wrote that Sydney. I'm female with a deep and husky voice. To the point where telemarketers call me "Sir" all the time and when people call for my husband, and I answer his phone, they think I am him. I trained Alexa to recognize my voice, but a few days later my adult son had Alexa recognize his voice - and now Alexa calls me by HIS name. ALL - THE -TIME. Of course, there's nothing wrong with a deep masculine voice - if that's what a person wants - I just want people to stop calling me Sir. This has been going on for years. You are def not alone with the struggle! I send you all my support and understanding.❤

Unfortunatelly the video sugests inferrior exercises that rely on whisper that have all sorts of problems built-in, like encouraging the engagement of false vocal folds (which you can hear in the video above...)
Stay away from any exercises that use whisper or panting, or any teachers that suggest that you have to manipulate the larynx consciously. Instead, really on sounds you make as your main feedback, and work on the size and weight balance using normal phonation (where your vocal folds vibrate, not retract as during whispering.)

Alright so as I understand it, the voice you use from day to day at your natural pitch is referred to as your "base pitch". It's what you speak at without trying to make your voice deeper or lighter. A goal in voice feminization is to raise that base pitch to something higher.

    •  Рік тому +3

More back pressure balances the supra and subglottic pressure, allowing your folds to close more gently, resulting in lightness. (look up SOVT exercises for more info on this!)

Eh, I'm just nitpicking and take me w a grain of salt cuz maybe I'm being too autistic and/or touchy feely 'cuz I'm temporarily off my meds (problems with prescriptions) but something about "so this is gonna sound a little low in my voice but if you are transfeminine and you are feminizing this might feel a little in the upper range of your voice" doesn't sit right with me.
Personally I would've said more like, "see you can hear it sounds kind of low the way I'm doing it, and that's actually because of the brighter/smaller resonance giving it that timbre, but if you are just starting out feminizing your voice this might be a higher pitch range than what you're used to."
I'm just saying, to the uninitiated viewer, yes, that note can come to sound low in your voice as well in the future if you change your resonance. It's not gonna sound low in their voice but high in yours. It's gonna sound low in any person's voice whose resonance is at about that size.
