Honestly from what I understand about music and tone production. If you can find an open minded pro or semi pro saxophonist, since they are basically doing the same thing with their throat in order to produce very high pitches. It sounds very similar to how the produce note extending above the natural range, too similar. I like your profile. I love Hideri. She’s definitely my favorite character in Blend S. I mean she’s technically he. But I mean we can all tell he’s a she. In the anime they don’t do a good job of describing it. (Not trying to assume but). Ok sorry I should just stop, stop yeah stop.
Not out to my group yet but I have a female character as a backup. I want to get to the point that by the time I play her, I can break out the fem voice for the first time in front of them.
Ah, the pharynx and the larynx. I'm a cis guy, trying to learn how to do harsh Metal vocals correctly (so, not hurting my throat). I also find the whole anatomy, that's going on within human vocal tracts when singing, speaking, screaming really fascinating. This video was very, very interesting. In addition I can use this to give my female NPCs in my DnD campaign more of a female voice. I mean, yes, I can talk in a higher-pitched voice but it will just sound like a dude talking in a higher-pitched voice. I never thought about what makes a voice sound male or female (for example, on many Metal albums, you can clearly hear, when a woman does screaming vocals vs. when a man does screaming vocals...it just sounds different). Really, beautiful video for everyone, that does anything with their voice. Be it as a hobby or a job.

Cis male here. I clicked on your video out of curiosity and watched to the end. Fascinating and informative! Your lecture was very professional and well organized. I’m sure your students benefit greatly. Best wishes! 😀
I did the exercise poorly because my throath hurts a little bit. But at one point I just found a woman's voice that sounded perfect for me, it felt natural and it made me feel really good. I was just like "wow that felt super like me" it felt really good. Thank you for these clearly profesional voice lessons, you are amazing.
As a phonetics nerd, I absolutely love this! I used my knowledge of phonetics to better hide my accent and never thought of how trans folk can use it. That's really awesome! I'll definitely share this with my trans and nb friends. And probably with all my DnD friends who play female characters!
I‘m literally crying, this helped me understand all the other videos I watched much better and I feel like I already improved a little! Thank you so much!
I am a cisgender neurodivergent woman with a naturally deep, monotone voice that really holds me back socially. This video was SO helpful for me and I already feel more well-received by customers at work! Thank you so much!
At first, your videos were a little hard to understand when I start to learn trans-voice, but after 6 months of practicing, they are the most informative ones.
Thank you! I'm so glad you feel that way. I'm constantly working towards simplifying my material for beginners. I'm aware that my older videos were less approachable. Back then I was really focusing on theoretically documenting transvoice. Now that it's documented I can focus on making more "how-to" style videos! Thank you!
@@TransVoiceLessons It is me who should say thank you, so THANK YOU! There were times I hit the walls when I practiced trans-voice, I felt so confused and did not know what could I do to further improve my voice, and my friends told me that I had done well enough but I still felt somehow weird in my voice. OMG thank you so much. I've been working on my voice for over a year, tracking my progress with a pitch analyser, and I've found it really hard to break out of the "male zone". Within just a few minutes of trying the resonance test, I tried the pitch analyser again and it showed my average as being in the Androgynous area. I'll definitely be watching more of your videos to help my voice further.
You are so good at explaining! This was incredibly well laid out and presented. Seriously girl, you have a real talent for teaching and for you to use it on something so deeply important to so many people is one of the most beautiful human moments I've ever experienced. From every fiber of my being, THANK YOU!!!!!!!
This is a fascinating learning experience. The graphs at 2:28 seem to indicate this is a kind of frequency modulation such as used in Yamaha's FM synthesis: the voice pitch is the carrier, the vocal tract is the modulator. Amazing.
Cis man here, who's training to become a voice actor - while I don't think I'll ever try to explicitly do a feminine voice, this is actually still very interesting for how to do differently pitched voices. Thanks for the informative content!

Hey to anyone struggling with this video (I am slightly cause I’m a bit acoustic). I don't know why YT put this in my feed. I never looked up something like this or a need to adjust my voice or sound female. But, the science, explanation and showing examples of how our vocal cords work is fascinating. I've never felt my throat before when talking or making sounds. And to feel it move as I adjust my pitch is strange and cool. I learned something and it maybe useful to me, but also more important, helpful to many people. Thanks for making this video. (And others) PS: the great clear voice.
When I watched this, I thought, she's just teaching basic intonation and vocal exercise that all voice actors and singers learn. I thought that until she started going into the science of how vocal cords behave. Not many coaches or teachers will go this into depth. Thanks for sharing this.
This was so useful, as I often do covers with multiple parts, including female voices. And then I found your videos, and wow, I couldn't be more grateful. P.S. I love your female voice, it's way more feminine than the average, and that's because of the huge study behind it. A hug from Italy :)
I've been questioning my gender for some time. I don't know if I'm cis or not, but either way I like being more feminine so will make sure to be practising. tysm
I am cis but I follow kat blaque and contrapoints so it figures I would get recommended this. this is amazing. I had no idea humans could do that with their voices haha
Though I already "knew" those muscles, this video has really helped me make a clear distinction between the pitch and R1 as you call it. Now comes the training!
You are so incredibly well practiced and well studied. These videos are also excellently structured and practically curated. Your work here is a godsend. Thank you for your time.
Wow! This really does something with my voice :) My throat hurts a lil bit after that...but i guess thats normal? Thanks for all the effort you put in these videos! This one seems to help me the best, but i'll check out all your videos! Keep up the good work! And be safe! ♥
At first it can be normally to experience a tiny bit of fatigue, but as I said in the video: anything significantly uncomfortable or anything that feels unsustainable is wrong. A good indication to know if we are doing the right thing is if there is very little tension. Everything will "glide" into place and fit like a puzzle being finished. :) Go slow and comfy!
@@TransVoiceLessons Thank you for the advice! Will try to keep that in mind and to be very careful. Also i have to watch some more of your videos...it looks and sounds so easy when you speak. Btw, you've a beautiful voice :)
this is just cardio. not trans but for voice acting/singing. i tried watching a bunch of videos but the is the one the makes the most sense in depth enough but still practical enough to actually try things.
I never actually thought I would understand how resonance works until I stumbled across this. You taught me in about 15 minutes what teachers couldn't teach me in two semesters
This reminds me of a classic singing technique for male singers which involves the conscious lowering of the larynx. This has the reverse effect as it expands the throat and gives it a deeper pitch, more resonance and lets it sound more masculine. So, basically the same in reverse. I am not trans but I record audio books and short stories. And some people were really surprised by my voices for female characters and how authentically feminine some of them sounded. Now I know why 😂 Basically, I already used a basic form of this because I already used shifting my larynx for a lot of my characters. For example, dwarves in fantasy always had a very low larynx voice while elves were very close to my natural or even slightly feminized voice with a slightly higher and more narrow larynx. Now, I can work with this in a more conscious manner. Thanks for that.
This video has been insurmountably helpful, thank you so much! Without any of these videos, I would have continued feeling so awful and insecure about my voice. I'm a trans woman that passes with looks, but not with voice. Now, however, you have made it possible for me to pass in all aspects. My dysphoria is going away inch by inch after watching and learning from your videos, and for that, I can't express how grateful and thankful I am for your videos!

This is why I love your channel. You don't just say "oh I did that thing and somehow it worked kinda" but you explain how the voice is formed and then say what you can do about it.
That's how everything should be, it is so much more helpful.

The throat pitch part blew my mind. So much great info, very technical and in-depth.
Very useful for D&D character voices considering I'm a cis male. Thanks! I'll make sure to practice this!
A brilliant technique and I must say, you have an incredible voice! 😁
As a professional vocal coach my self I find this extremely fascinating! Great work training your own voice and explaining the exercises so clearly. Truly masterful voice control and meticulous pedagogy 💜

My dnd sessions are about to be wild.

Yep, lol! Applies to singing too!

Thank you!

So thankful I get to help you! Thanks for being here!!
She has a nice voice but I didn't understand a word of these exercices.
This is a fascinating learning experience. The graphs at 2:28 seem to indicate this is a kind of frequency modulation such as used in Yamaha's FM synthesis: the voice pitch is the carrier, the vocal tract is the modulator. Amazing.
I have no idea why I'm watching this at 3 in the morning, but I'm really happy for y'all.
I have house mates, and doing these sounds alone in my room probably sounds really weird, and it's pretty embarrassing

(And others)
PS: the great clear voice.

At first it can be normally to experience a tiny bit of fatigue, but as I said in the video: anything significantly uncomfortable or anything that feels unsustainable is wrong. not trans but for voice acting/singing. i tried watching a bunch of videos but the is the one the makes the most sense in depth enough but still practical enough to actually try things.
I don't know how I got here but this is one of the more fascinating corners of YT I've discovered and I'm here for it!
I never actually thought I would understand how resonance works until I stumbled across this. You taught me in about 15 minutes what teachers couldn't teach me in two semesters
I'm a woman, but I have a really deep voice and I'm curious what it would sound like a bit higher/more feminine. Great videos, super interesting!
I'm a cis woman and omg she sounds more passing than me! Such a sweet voice. This is amazing.
Aww thank you. 🥺 welcome to our lil community!
Now I know why 😂
Basically, I already used a basic form of this because I already used shifting my larynx for a lot of my characters. For example, dwarves in fantasy always had a very low larynx voice while elves were very close to my natural or even slightly feminized voice with a slightly higher and more narrow larynx. Now, I can work with this in a more conscious manner. Thanks for that.
This one video landed me **FOUR AUDIOBOOK CONTRACTS IN 24 HOURS** after months of no-offers. This works, and it's MAGIC.
❤❤❤❤
This video has been insurmountably helpful, thank you so much! Without any of these videos, I would have continued feeling so awful and insecure about my voice. I'm a trans woman that passes with looks, but not with voice. Now, however, you have made it possible for me to pass in all aspects. My dysphoria is going away inch by inch after watching and learning from your videos, and for that, I can't express how grateful and thankful I am for your videos!
