I too LOVE Stirling's Lavender Sage scent. I had the pre-shave/beard oil that I quickly ran out of. I have a sample of the Lavender Sage shave soap that I am saving for the winter.
It is inaccurate to say that tallow soaps are soft. Many tallow soaps, particularly those that are triple milled. But PrairieCreations and Queen Charlotte make tallow-based are quite hard.
Nick, look on ebay, as i'm scrolling through shave soaps, I'm seeing this ray's of Colorado shave soap, I think it says 2.5 oz or something for 5 bucks, free shipping, have some different scents, I'm thinking about picking me up a puck.
How would you compare Stirling to Mike's? I just received the Stirling Coniferous for Christmas, and I'm debating on picking up some Mike's as well. I'm just not sure if I want to pay more for Mike's- if it really isn't an improvement over Stirling.
Crixus The Gaul I don't think they sell in puck form anymore. It's been completely reformulated, as well, and performs significantly better than it did 3 years ago. They're still by far the best value in industry.
I have bought a bunch of their soap since this comment, I asked them about the pucks. They do make pucks... its the refill size. They aren't as hard as most triple milled pucks though, so you can press them down into a tin. Reeaaaaaal good soap. Kinda slipped into my favorite at the moment.
It's been 8 years. Do some of these videos need to be updated? At some point, do you plan on taking the videos down, because they are no longer relevant? Do you still shave with Stirling? The price, container and price per ounce that represents bargain and luxury has changed. Many soaps on your channel are no longer being produced.
3 minutes into the video & you're still blathering on about some other ¢rap - no lather info, so I moved on to a more focused & experienced video. Sorry.
Working on fixing that statement! Thanks for posting, I appreciate it. Leisureguy! Love your stuff
The best puck for your buck! Rod has amazing soaps.
They really are an amazing deal!

Haven't heard of them! I will check them out
How do you press a soap puck into a mug? Do you have a video for that? I couldn't find one
You also have to factor in that this soft soap compared to a tripple milled soap like Mitchell's is going to use up faster.
Hey Nick. Stirling soaps are approximately 4 ounces. But they're bigger. Keep shaving super cool shaving vids!
Thanks! Yeah - I weighed my here at 4.7 ounces - much larger than 4!
Castor oil is also for slickness
Good to know! Thanks for posting
hey thanks for this review but when I looked this product up on amazon nothing comes up for them hhmmm
What audio equipment are you using?

Did they raise their prices a lot?

I find Mike's easier to load and lather - though they give similar shaves. I think its worth a try!
Thanks for the reply! I think I will try some Mike's.
So does sterling no longer make their soap in a hard puck? And it is definitely more than double the price now days...

Oh, they still sell the 4.5 oz refills? I had heard that they didn't. In that case, that's plopped right to the top of my wish list!
search them on google, buy directly from their site
I don't know how you get Stirling to lather so easily. I have been having a real hard time getting anything thick going.
here 10 years later and it has almost quadrupled in price - close to 20 bucks a puck now
I wouldn't want to smell beer first thing in the morning either, lol. Of course I never tried a beer scented soap either.
Haha! I agree. But I do like this soap! Perfect for the weekend
Good Review
at 2 minute mark, I was almost confused whether I was watching a MCAT/DAT review or a soap review.
Nice work nonetheless.

I threw away my brush and cup when I discovered Cremo.
Really it works for you?
You got to lose the thermometer.
Yeah, I have dropped that now. Some people were interested in the temp - but it was a bit much
