Don't forget to sign up for Nebula: go.nebula.tv/geraldundone
The first six million people to sign up will get an NFT of my Prof Yeti pine needle soap. All NFTs will be delivered by the 33rd of Jantober 2066. 🦄
But seriously, the Nebula + CS bundle is a great deal. 🤓👍
Done, sir. It's actually an incredible value even without the Prof Yeti soap :)
Amazing deal! An entire year of Curiosity Stream + Nebula costs less than the free shipping from Dr. Squatch!
Kind of want the soap, not gonna lie.
Thanks for the reminder to sign up, I don't do NFTs though and I make my own soap from the tears of unicorns and leprachaun poop. As you would imagine it has an overpowering scent of sandlewood and hipster beard.

Gerald losing his mind over overpriced soap is exactly what I needed tonight. Cheers, Ger!
Yep....made my day.
I can fully relate.
Some things in this world are just getting ridiculous.
Keep "Em Coming Gerald"!!

It’s not really overpriced it’s good soap and lasts for like 3 weeks
They’re selling these bars of soap for $5 a piece at my local Walmart. So much easier than ordering it online.
Just got two last night from there and they had the Star Wars collab
Wait a minute. I thought buying online product was supposed to be cheaper than in stores?
@murderfacex30v EXCEPT when Wal-Mart sees an opportunity to undercut overpriced online crap.
It's what their corporate buyers do all the time -- It doesn't matter that they undercut the Net instead of local mom-&-pop stores.... it's the same game.
Same
Not worth it for $5 a piece.
Note to self. Don't show Gerald any ads.
Too late.
😅😂
Can't believe that I didn't realize when the video was over!!! Thank you, Gerald, the next time I buy a bar of soap, this video will come to mind.
THE GOD GOAT OF ALL THE GOATS !
Didn't expect to find PiXimperfect in the comment section of a soap review...I thought you only exist back in the magical world of Photoshop.
this was completely biased, just going on and on about prices and crap
I never asked for a soap review, yet I didn’t realize how much I needed it.
I've used Sasquatch soap before and I honestly quite like it. I mean it's absolutely unnecessary expense it for soap. But I enjoy how strong the sentence, the texture of it on my skin, and I actually enjoyed the grainy texture of the Sand & Oates as well. Maybe this is just psychological, but I actually feel like I'm scrubbing the dirt and grime off of my body. My skin it's also very sensitive and gets very itchy a lot so it honestly helps with that as I'm wiping down cuz that grainy texture with these scratches it up real good. That's just me personally, probably other people may not like that. I could tell from your tone that you didn't. But I personally enjoy it. It almost feels like I'm scratching my back as I wipe with soap. It's just quite awkward to hold in the hand given that it's a perfect square ⬛
My thoughts as well. I guess we all have our preferences and I love the natural gritty soap feel. The prices aren't too bad if you subscribe and bundle it. In the end I was paying about $7 per bar of soap.
I get a few at Wal-Mart for about $6.98/bar. That's not too bad for me, in my opinion. Although $5/bar would be better. I also enjoy the smells and I personally enjoy them as well especially considering other soaps and what the ingredients are in them.
Sounds like the soap is killing your brain cells
Absolutely LOVE your sarcasm!! Great video & review. Honestly touched on every point that annoyed the sh** out of me as well during the ordering process. Just today I recieved the soaps and deodorant...so can't say much about the products myself yet :)
Gerald screeching "it's just soap!!!" is how I feel every time I walk into Whole Foods, but about most of the stuff in the store.
and yet he made this "its just soap" in to almost 15 mins 🥱 😴
I got a cool soap saver carved from solid stone for $12. That wood one is a rip off. A local wood worker could make it fast and cheaper.
*mental breakdown*
5:51
Not sure how I feel about enjoying this man's quite rapid descent into madness 😂
Gerald: that’s my secret, i’ve always been mad.
🤣
i feel like i jipped them because they gave me an offer you couldnt refuse, if i bought 3 bars RIGHT NOW, theyd give me 3 more and the little block thingy, all for 40, i think that was around the time the company was getting desperate hahah
The Col Walter Kurtz of soap....the horror....the horror...blub, blub, blub...
Between the vid, and that comment I don't what to laugh more with 😂❤️
The bar is not overpriced when you learn how much it cost to make real natural soap.
People have the option to buy commercial soap and they are really affordable, but they have bad ingredients like SLS, parabens, phahlate and others.
Real soap is made from fats and Lye. Oils and lye are really expensive, like Shea butter, mango butter, Olive oil, coconut oil, avocado Oil, Palm Oil RSPO certified, sweet almond oil and much more. If you add additives, Kaolin clay, dead sea mud, oatmeal, honey, activated Bamboo Charcoal and much more.
People don't appreciate natural products and don't know the real monetary value of those artisan products.
Believe me, making real soap from scratch is expensive, difficult, dangerous and time consuming.
Commercial soap is just detergent, skin drying and triggers eczema.
Thank you it's very annoying how people don't understand why the product is expensive and how much it costs to make
@@TheGoldenConnorificThis doesn’t explain why they charge $20 for a block of wood 😂
@@user-mv9re6ob7m the wood saves your soap making it last longer. It's a block of Cedar Handmade. Very Quality.
@@user-mv9re6ob7msome people just don’t realize how expensive the process of making a wood block is😂😂😂
Lol this is just wrong, look up soap guy, squatch was selling relabled soap guy before they were big enough to make their own (soap guy (and others) offer the relabling service), you can buy a loaf for the cost of a bar on that site.
The best soap I’ve ever bought and still use today is from Caswell-Massey. It’s not cheap but it’s triple milled and has whatever fragrance u want in the soap. One bar last 3-4 weeks if used everyday. U buy the 12 pack and u get a year of soap for under $100 and no need for cologne after using it.
“THIS IS SOAP, THIS IS SOAP. IT’S SOAP, MY GOD.”
I didn’t expect this but damn do I love this 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I broke down one holiday season and bought a bundle and whatever that bundle was came with a Soap Gripper. My thought on the Soap Gripper was exactly what you suggested before I used it. The Gripper is a hard plastic that you push into the bar and besides making it easier to hold it greatly helps bars from falling apart when they get thin. For what it is the Gripper is overpriced but it does work. I found that a number of the soaps smelled very nice, especially the Bay Rum.
Yea, idk why this guy is shitting on them so much. The soap is good, it works really well and smells nice. It has good exfoliating properties and in fact I can get more uses out of a bar of dr squatch than i can out of the equivalent price of something like Old Spice. And, Dr Squatch doesn't irritate my skin. Plus most of the people complaining about 1) dripage or 2) the bars not lasting obviously dont know how to use a bar soap. You dont apply it under water. The bar should never be in direct water. And the soap dish that lets the water run away does make it last longer
This is the company 😂
@@pokeraddict Love my Dr. Squatch. I wish they paid me to say it, but they don't unfortunately. The soap is a little pricey because it doesnt last so good, but the shampoo/conditioner/deodorant/ toothpaste/cologne last just as long as any decent stuff you'd get at Walmart for honestly not that much different of a price. 10/10 for me would recommend to anyone.
@@pokeraddict yup funny shit
@@xmobstersal4167 nah just people who’ve actually used it and enjoy it. If it’s not for you then fine, but I’ve gotten actual positives from using this soap.
“On the side here they’ve got instructions in case you’r3 new to soap” was funny ngl 😂 6:37
This is the first Jerald Undone video I have watch. His ranting is truly the voice of the people. It gives me the comforting feeling of getting a second opinion from a reliable source. Well done sir! 👍
So, the issue with free shipping is actually that they don't have the promo setup correctly. It's set to trigger at $77 instead of $75. The screenshot of the support chat you put in the video is hilarious because they obviously just made up the "international processing fee" on the fly to avoid actually supporting a possible customer. If you go to the Canadian store and create an order value of $77 you should see free shipping(works for me).
I guess that is technically $75+.
@@davideffiong1198 I think it's because the banner is set up for USD and the conversion rates make CAD need more or something. But also that's really funny as the package he was getting cost $1 less than free shipping. That's how they get ya 💀
Must not update for CAD. Can't imagine it would be that hard to do. 🤷♀️
The tone of the third "9 dollars each" where it's like maybe it's different actually got me. I don't normally laugh at youtube videos but god damn was this a good one. Toxic marketing is a goldmine of comedy. I think you should do a whole series about Amazon marketing with the horrible grammar and the ridiculous brand naming. Could be a good source of content. Great video man!
I wish he had hidden the deals written next to each other though
There is an article (I think WSJ?) detailing why Chinese brands use these names and why they use so many labels in their listings on Amazon.
Short: it is because it makes applying for trademarks much easier in the US-- any combination of letters that sounds follows English phonotactic rules appears to make it's way through the system easier.
The labels comes down to how Amazon suggests items based on search queries, it makes the most sense for a product to list itself with as many tags as possible (specifically phrases, since many people use combinations of words to look for products).
They try to brainwash impressionable men into thinking if they don't buy this they're not a man, or they'll get cancer if they use the soap that many healthy centenarians used for decades, or they'll get divorced just because they don't use this product. Womens products don't need to be advertised this way so why are men's advertisements trying to insult men?
I've been enjoying your content for a couple of years now. Never did I think I would watch you make your own block of garden dirt soap. :D
If the product needs advertising from youtubers, its undoubtedly going to shit. Like all the insta sponsored ads, it's all crap
“It definitely functions as soap.” -Gerald Undone
First Reaction: Lolwut Gerald is reviewing soap?!
Second Reaction: I will watch Gerald review anything.
Same. I'm fine with this channel pivot
Gerald can review a park bench and I would still totally watch that, as he does it in such an entertaining way!
This is why I use Duke Cannon. You can get it in stores. Though they also had an activated charcoal soap that made the tub look black.
I like how it lasts 3 times more and smells just as nice for the same price, as for if it prevents cancer, do you think they really know, they are still debating on if egg yolks and milk are good for you.
Lol oh heck naw 🤣 😆
I started to consider Duke, but realized my main reason reason for going to Squatch was for avoiding all the chemicals in the mainstream soaps.
@@mitchperry9003 You can see the ingredients for Duke on their website, the only chemicals in it is salt and the fat they use.
A few years ago, I got the urge to make my own soap. It's extremely easy, and there are literally hundreds of fragrances to pick from. Personally, I'll never buy another bar of soap.
Honestly, i love this creative redirection on your content. holy hell so great
"Instructions, in case you're new to soap" - 16 min of comedy - the best
I wish there was a channel that was solely dedicated to reviewing the most common sponsorships from various UA-camrs and those annoying ads.
The ads are so annoying. I'm so tired of seeing and blocking the ads but I still get tormented by them
As someone who has worked on ads, the moment I saw their ads I knew they were spending more on those than the products themselves. Thank you for this, Gerald
Literally skipped through several videos in my list but of course Gerald got me to watch an entire review of something I don’t even care about. 😂
100% agree. Makes me feel rubbery like most of the artisan soaps still haven't figured out why. Even after reading all of the google searches concerning the I guess there could be 1 of 4 reasons why.
Just bought a bunch of their products and I was unsure if it would feel rubbery afterwards…. Used it and felt rubbery but as soon as I dried myself, skin actually felt really nice. Birch wood scent smells great honestly. But bummed I spent a fair bit on it but I do like their scents 😂
Dude you just brightened my day man😂

I'm 6 minutes into a SOAP REVIEW and I literally have tears running down my face from laughing, and I don't crack up that easily from youtube videos.
The way Gerald rants and also laughs about stuff is genuinely amazing.
I really like this kind of random content mixed with the camera reviews.
Cheers, Gerald! Keep at it.

Sounds like you crack up that easily. I didn't laugh at all and I was hooked the whole video.

I've gotten their soaps before I love the pine tar and I never had any problems with the soap except for the cost LOL probably cost like $0.02 for them to make
I got a couple of them to try them out including pine tar and I loved it just didn't love the side for the price I just get duke cannon soap now may be around the same price but you get a whole brick of soap and it's in stores.
@@CCXZBlur yeah only bad thing about them is the price, their scents are too tier though, especially ones that are heavy grit
@@him-ph6fi if you use honey, I got 40% percent discount on a holiday bundle with the 12 soaps and the colognes for just under 100$ so I recommend u try that and the price will at least go down
They cost a lot more to make. Oils and butters are very expensive
Actually it’s like 12$ per unit on these because of the natural oils and natural scent oils processing and the package.
I think it's funny how their ads are all like "soap is a chemical and chemicals bad" but their soap is also a chemical because that's literally how soap works.

I generally become disinterested when a channel I've been a loyal viewer of for years begins take a different direction... I do enjoy using the squatch soaps. They are my go to soap because they don't make me itchy like a lot of other soaps do. I have been buying mine at Walmart though. I live in the US and my local Walmart sells them for $6 a bar.
I've also tried their shampoo and conditioner. It's okay but honestly I prefer the Black Wolf shampoo and conditioner even though it is outrageously expensive.
Do you also use their deodorants?
I use the Rum barrel soap and its great and somewhat cheap i use it instread of shampoo and lasts for months

I was already on Nebula, but I want to say, Im so happy to see you over there, I really believe in the project and the Curiosity Stream alliance
I started making my own bar soap because of the complaints about their quality. Ended up lasting twice as long and didn't dry out the skin. Squatch uses palm oil which causes both those problems but makes you buy bars faster. They have great signature scents but there's much better options for quality.

Professor Yeti got me 😂😂😂. I do have to say though, as a woodworker I do enjoy their scents. But yeah, overpriced...unless you buy 4???
I know I’m a little late but yeah I notice the bundles are much better than buying one a piece
Sure, Gerald, but how’s the low light performance? Has it fixed the rolling shutter problem with the previous soap?
What annoys me about them is the fear mongering in their adds about other soaps.
I think they are going overboard with the "limited edition" fomo sales strategy now... I like the soap but it's been forever since they even added a soap to the regular availability...every single one is 'limited'.
I will never buy anything I see in media commercials. EVERY single one becomes a scam in one way or another (Usually the issue is it's nearly impossible to cancel).
I'm liking that Gerald is opening himself up over the years of his videos. he gets more and more funny!
I tried these soaps once. It wasn't for me, it dried out my skin. I just recently saw them being physically available at Walmart, which was a surprise.
Yeah, Their original line up was super harsh on the skin. But now they offer some moisturizing/revitalizing soap options. ( Thou it seems these higher quality/luxurious products) cause them to hike up their shipping price.
( As away to hide the real price increase)
In all honesty I wouldn’t buy it online. I only started using it because I saw that they sell it at my local Walmart for like 6$. So I get like 3 for 20$. But yeah when I looked at it on the website I was like “hell nah” but then I gave it a chance when I saw it at the store and surprisingly I really like the soap and the deodorant they have.

The best is getting a Dr Squatch ad right after this video! Thanks Gerald! 😂
One thing I will say having used this. They do have a few bars that are aggressive like sandpaper and if you work on cars it is great at getting that grease off you in a way that outside of mechanic handsoaps (which usually will have pumice or smth similar for grit) can but typically those soaps feel too aggressive on your arms and such do Dr.Squach kinda totes a fine line in that case of being aggressive without being too aggressive. Other than that it's just soap
At that point, I would just use lava soap. It's much cheaper and more effective. I used it a lot when I printed newspapers. Print ink is an invention of the devil. But you're right. It's just soap
I’m so glad you actually did this 😂

Was having a slow day with so much going on, you made my day much easier, for real ..... 😂
I went with the Pine Tar, found it at Walmart. I loved the way it smelled, but it made me break out on my whole body. And the extra punch to the gut was that it seemed to melt away too fast, and I'm not kidding here...it barely lasted a week.
I use a loofah to rub it into and I don’t put the bar directly in the water. One bar lasts me about 3 months

This brand of soap is the single biggest reason I will always have a UA-cam Premium account. Their adds are intrusive, insulting and just plain stupid. That assclown they have in their adds gets under my skin on sight. This brand is the single worst example of internet marketing and their website seems to show that.
