We stayed 10 days, but we spread out to see other towns; Ronda, Cordoba, Nerja, Casares, Seville and Granada. ..and then left from Madrid. Beautiful experience.
any tips on how to navigate those cities from malaga as a base -we are going to malaga for 8 nights which 4 should we chose from ronda granada cordoba seville and marabella
For nicer beaches head to Pedregalejo or El Palo to the east of the city. Here you will also find the best fish and seafood restaurants. Whilst paella is available in Málaga it is mainly for tourists and made with seafood (i.e. not traditional). When ordering ask how long it will take. Many of the cheaper restaurants make the paella in advance, so you are served a lukewarm stodgy mess. For good, fresh, paella expect a wait of at least 30 minutes. In Málaga we are more likely to eat arroz (rice) dishes; they are similar, but different, to paella and are eaten for lunch. The best place in the centre of town is Beluga in Plaza de Flores. Since this video was made Café Central has closed. However, there are still plenty of small, local, cafés and I would ask you to frequent them instead of the overpriced international chains. Most of the museums are free on Sundays. I appreciate your tips on how to dress. Yes we are on the coast, but Málaga is still a working city. Walking around town in your swimwear is really inappropriate, and is an absolute no no in restaurants. Another little piece of advice when it comes to eating out. Tipping your server is not taboo in Spain. You don’t have to leave much (the 15-20% rule doesn’t apply), but a few coins or a euro is appreciated. Don’t forget, also, that there is a train every 20 minutes from the airport into the centre of town which costs about 2 euros.
You missed out the train from the airport. Super quick and convenient and for around 2 Euros into Malaga Centro. Right opposite the airport arrivals and takes around 15 minutes. Arrive at the train station and it's around a 15 minute walk to the old town, or get an Uber
Hi Kim! We are planning a trip to Southern Spain in the spring. So pleasantly surprised to find you and your video! Looks like we've all had many travel adventures since Peru (I think?!?) years ago!
Bus ticket price is 1 euro 40 cents for one trip, not 2 euros as you said. But if you bought for example bus card for 10 or more trips in a tobacco shop, it’s gonna cost only 40 cents for one trip.
Just pulling in on a cruise ship. Excellent video. Very well organized and presented. Not sure where I’m going to find Espidrilles. I’ll ask my wife, may e😊
Great content and provides lots of ideas during our visit! We're contemplating options between flying into Madrid versus Malaga. We're staying in Airbnb in Bahia de Casares, Andalucia attending the Solheim Cup. Wondering how much time to plan from travel between locations. If we train from Madrid, thats 2+ hours as you shared, but don't have a gage for the extra time/effort for the rest of the commute. Thoughts?
I would say whatever works best for you. When I first arrive in a Country, I like taking a plane all the way to the final destination instead of airports and train stations when I am jetlagged. Just my thoughts. Thanks for watching the video and have a great trip.
Very good guide , thank you. I have been there before (yes Casa Lola is amazing!!!) and i am going back this summer. Decided to watch some guides first this time .
I found Malaga to be very safe for solo travelers. They speak Spanish in Malaga, but most speak a little English in the tourist areas. Have a great time, and subscribe to the channel.
Yes, I recommend packing with layers, and fall. You might want to bring a jacket, but it’s possible you will have warm days. Thanks for watching a video and make sure to subscribe to the channel.
@@hayfa.sherine I lived in Còmpeta and the dialect is Andalus, fast and words clipped. However, I got by speaking Castillian nice and slow. They help you if you try. I loved my time there.
Great video! I’ve booked a flight to Malaga with my teen son for August. Can’t figure out where to stay - Malaga City? Torremolunas? Belnamedena? He watches a beach vacay and I want to experience Spanish culture. Do you have ideas?
Malaga city is a city with a couple of beaches. I would try some of the smaller towns, and research where you will find young people. Thanks for watching, and please subscribe to the channel.
Hi I just suscribed to your channel! Never order a paella if you are not in Valencia Where that dish is from. A ride from Málaga airport to the city centre is quite expensive if you take a taxi.So yeah it's much better cabyfi or ubber. I'm a 41 years old guy who works as an airline pilot for a company based in Málaga and i'm from Málaga too so i'm very Lucky. I like your content and by the way you look beautyful! Such a gourgeos girl! Besos

When I stayed in Malaga I was in Carlos Haya University Hospital. Free with an E111 card. The food was terrible but they saved my life.
That's good to know, thank you for sharing. And I'm sorry that happened to you! I'm glad they were able to help you.
Best way of travelling to the centre is the train, which is cheap and quick. Though bus is needed for the port.
So darn helpful.
Cheers ma dears.

Great information. Is it safe for solo travelers and is there a language barrier?
I found Malaga to be very safe for solo travelers. They speak Spanish in Malaga, but most speak a little English in the tourist areas. Have a great time, and subscribe to the channel.
Best way to travel to Malaga is direct flight to Lisbon, stay a few nights there then direct flight to Malaga.
Thanks for sharing your tips. I’m really glad you enjoyed the video.
I'm going in November what would you recommend to pack for fall ?
Yes, I recommend packing with layers, and fall. You might want to bring a jacket, but it’s possible you will have warm days. Thanks for watching a video and make sure to subscribe to the channel.

Il y a un train directement à la gare pour la ville! Ça demeure le meilleur moyen à prix modique 😁
Where can I book a house for a small family for a week/monthly rate at a good price?
I think the best place to look at the Airbnb. Have a great time.
I plan to go to that AC hotel. #views
Your link to the Malaga packing guide doesn't work.
Thanks for letting me know, I think it’s fixed now.
Andalusian is a dialect that is spanish with arabic words and influence because of 900 years arab empire.

Yes, the best paella is from Valencia :) Thanks for the sub. Safe travels.
How much would a regular cab cost?
Looking forward to long-liveing Malaga City.
What neighbourhood would you recommend?
Cok gùzel bir gó TR sel oldu lmus, sùper👍👍♥️♥️❣️❣️
Very beatifuulll👍👍👍♥️👍❣️❣️
Malaga was very beautiful. Thank you for watching the video.
I don't like to stay at a huge hotel. I love feeling the experience that the locals feel. I like to hang with the locals.
Agreed.
“Castellano” is actually the original Spanish, and yes, unles you’re a fast Spanish speaker like the Caribbean island, especially Cuban (me), it would be very difficult to understand 😂. People from Central and South America wouldn’t understand a word
I lived an hour away and yes, they speak fast and clip words. I had the best conversations with people from Valladolid.
All the more reason to travel there more and get better at understanding it :)
Your prices are not even close. AC hotel for May is 450USD per night. Not 175. And im a Marriot gold member. And summeris even more.
That's unfortunate. Those were the prices when I was there, and filmed this video. Thanks for watching and I you found the video valuable.

In summer it’s 100 degrees plus and 87 degrees in night 😂😂😂
I heard that; that's HOT! Thanks for watching, and please subscribe to the channel.

Thank you!
Sorry, but Paella is different in almost every town I visited. The best was in Madrid.
I agree, Paella is different in every city. Where did you have the delicious paella in Madrid? Thanks for watching the video, make sure to subscribe to the channel.
Im going to Malaga today...🛫🛬

Thank you so much!
