I reviewed the 160 mm a long time ago and have been using it for over a year with amazing results. I purchased the ZTTO just to review something different but after 3 months I had to go back to Himalo. You cannot beat the quality for the price.

The 32 fork can not take the roots and rocks in Missouri. Mine had a large (old tech?) air chamber that ended up leaking.
I watched your build on this bike - you can not compromise on the forks. Get a Marzocchi Bomber z1 coil - that is the budget e-bike fork - then you will see what you are missing.
Nice ride there. Just wondering could you do a breakdown vid to see whats on the inside and to what extent these things can be serviced? Also its advertised as having 180mm of exposed stanchions size but only 140mm of actual travel though. Is this accurate? It would be interesting to find out in a travel test review. I think the hollow bolt holding the compression cartridge is the weakest link on this fork. It could break easily. Maybe it could be replaced by a standard m8 bolt.
My current light set up was greatly improved by installing an accessory bar to the handle bar... light is centered... higher..can see further plus gives me greater detail / depth of roots/rocks
I have this fork. just did a quick tear down on the lowers and they didn't come with foam rings. You may want to double check yours to see if this is just how the fork was built. There is a notch for a foam ring but they slots were empty. I ordered a pair as these are required to keep the stanchion lubricated.
i also put 10ml 15wt oil on each lower leg bro to keep the foam rings soaked. put no more than 10ml or else the oil might forcefully enter the damper during full travel.

Please evaluate the quality of the anodized legs. Will it last for years or months? Did you try to scratch the legs on the top? Where scratches does not mess a work of the fork.
@@joelarmstrong6127 I sold the bike soon after the upgrade but they were really good. I was using them on a very heavy E Bike ( 50 kilos ) and they worked nicely for that, needed pressure and preload maxed out though ( I'm 80 kilo) with my set up I wouldn't trust them for big drops but but I done jumps onto flat maybe dropping 4 feet and they stood up fine. On a regular bike they'd probably be more than decent enough.

There are no front fork options on Ali - except for Manitou. Rear shocks DNM rear shocks are very high quality - you are getting something on par with fox or rock shox. But again unless going with Manitou - no options on Ali are sufficient.

I liked your video. Lower cost forks arent for everyone, but thats why higher end ones are availible. They have a 140mm 36mm stantion fork availible now i think im going to try, 180mm seams like too much on a hardtail.
This fork is Boost. I have seen other video of the ZTTO fork where volume reduces can be installed/removed. so yes it is possible. But I would recommend just going with the 160mm model from Himalo. Cheaper and less work. I have a review on that fork as well.
@@arden1821 There is a top out spacer about 5mm thick just below the negative coil spring to cushion the fork on full extension. You could add another 20mm worth of spacers to shorten the travel. The actual travel is only 155mm even though the stanchion length is 180mm. I think I'm going to shorten my travel because my frame geometry was only meant for 130mm travel.
I'm really curious of the durability of the Himalo forks. I just bought a 26inch doubleshoulder Himalo 680DH fork for my electric motorcycle build, and I'm wondering if it was the right choice. I got the air version with the 15x100mm Thru Axel. I got a Halo SAS wheel to go with it, and a nice high cooling 160mm disc brake rotor and a ZOOM Xtech hb100 hydro cable brake caliper. I've been crawling youtube trying to find Himalo fork fails and I cant seem to find any. I really dont need a fork failing trying to brake at 35mph+.
keep us updated how it works out for you. I have been looking at the same double crown fork to upgrade my very old DH bike since it only had 80mm of travel and v-brakes. Yes it is old enough that disk brakes were not around yet.
I have a pair of the dual crown himalo suspension and rode for a while no problems but i found the air bike dh forks better because they have more bolts for the crown to grab the stantions and just feels sturdier
All is good! To be honest I seldom have any issues with Aliexpress parts. Even the carbon frame is holding up well. The ZTTO fork leaking is the first issues I’ve had with Aliexpress components.
@@gravitycheckmtb All you need is a cheap lavalier mic (little mic that clips onto your collar or wherever). $20. You might still need to balance your levels but you won't be fighting room acoustics any more. The audio when riding is good. Cheers for the reviews and whatnot.

your brake cable is installed wrong, it should be behind the leg to protect the cable in a crash. one crash can ruin the brake cable, at least common brake cables. but braided cables exist they will be more than twice the price but will be more durable.

I pet on 140mm closed air cartridge and a closed damper cartridge, which you can't service, probably just lubricated with grease, no oil, maybe this one has oil, in lowers, who knows. but yes, this is not a legit review, it's just a first impressions, test ride, install video. but proper review would be nice, but this fork is trash.
This fork is rediculous, as all of those copy cat forks, and they keep changing the names, and they keep doing illegal things, like using Trademarked names from other brands. The forks don't have proper internals just closed cartridges. I assume this fork has that too. Not a fork i would install on any bike. But with shortages now you got to do what you have to. I am sure I would not get along with it. I had a fox 36 and no this won't be anything like that only similarity will be the horrible creaking I guess, cus most forks are not made to take these loads well. Now I am testing Ext Era. But that's a top price class fork
@@NS-zv9qf I've not tried them, but if their shocks are done properly then that's a nice deal, as they do have dual air chamber shocks, so no volume reduction spacers. I've not tried their shocks. My first shock was Trek/Fox Drcv then I got a proper bike and now I have Ext Era but that's a premium shock with Wrc tech in it. I have spherical bearings too, my bike is Geometron G1 so quality German manufactured frame, but you don't have to have a expensive bike to have a decent bike. But I went for it, as I could and it was a long term investment, I won't buy a new enduro bike in a decade probably, mabye more will keep it until it dies. There are some brands That seem to make decent quality frames. And there is some nice suspension for less than the premium brands, but remember second hand is also an option. But now there is a shortage on forks here in Norway 🇳🇴 atleast.

But even the pricy forks from Fox and Rock Shox are not always perfect as teet don't do deep quality check, and Dyno test, on every single fork, and fox don't always do proper job with grease so they over grease it alot of the time. That's massproction with assambly and quality control that is not up to my standards. So I try to have the best of the best on my bikes when possible. But Tha t level of quality control costs more money and takes more time. So takes slower to get product out then.
Open or closed you still get oil cavitation... ones affordable and the other isn't. Maintenance is the real question here. Even if this fork lasts 1/3 of the time a name brand fork does (which is also made in Taiwan) you could buy 4 of these for the price of fox 36... fox makes good products no doubt but it's brainwashed fanatics like you that allow them to continue jacking the price up for their stuff.

I have tested the 160mm fork from Himalo for over a year with 0 issues. I am many other have not experienced what you say. I can’t find many reviews of the same issues with all major brands as well. Every brand is bound to have products that fail. You spend a lot of time on here hating for no reason. This product is clearly not for you, move on, you’re clearly to good for “budget”
@@gravitycheckmtb most forks get horrible creaking in a year or two or few months, my Fox 36 did it sounded like I was snapping it in half, that's a pricy fork, I sold it, now will see if I will make Ext Era creak. But I read reviews of Sr Suntour duralix reviewer wrote sr suntour forks usually did not creak, so that's a good sign. Not tried one. But can't find any in stock, but they are cheaper than other more popular optiond. I am just sharing my conserns. I don't know how how far you pushed those forks. I have nothing agianst cheap stuff if it's actually good and safe and not a lie. But atleast this fork does not use Trademarked names from other brands. Seems like legs and crown is their own design. But not seen any strip down of these forks yet.

I have no clue wha tthe make their forks of or how, and not much info on them, but I am skeptic and critical, and careful, and dive deep into things. Most forks will handle gentle rising well, but don't do well on harsh stuff, but the 36 mm stanchions should help with stiffness. Did you experince any creaking? I did with 130mm Fox 32 on a trail bike, it was at 70 deg, but Fox 36 was even louder, but I ran it at 62 deg head angle at 170mm. But flawed crown design. I suspect you fork might get that issue too, but it might not it dwpwnda on several factors. I am not saying expensive is great and chepa is bad.
@@gravitycheckmtb did it actually have 160mm travel? Or 140mm like this 180mm inner tube lenght as the call it. How do the knobs turn? Do they move smoothly, do they have clicks? Are they firm? Too firm? Too light? Do they stay secure or do they shift during riding, like Fox Grip did, awful, rough R terrain and fork would lockout. So zipties fixed that. But grip2 on fox 36 has firm clicks and requires some force to move, unessesary much effort, but ext feels good at the co presion knob and dials, but high-speed compression is smaller so will be less comfy 5o turn but Tha twill be the case on all forks. But budget forks don't have that adjustments, only have slow speed rebound and compression. But those are most important anyway, especially rebound which make wheel stick to the ground. But many cheap forks font have that, bad idea, good yours has. I see Dnm did a upside down fork which was a bad one, closed cartridge, and not good tolerances. That's a budget Brad as ppl sat, but mostly known for their shocks. But after looking at video of strip down i was not impressed. I rather go sr Suntour, Manitou, X fusion or any other fork secondhand. But hope the Himalo fork works for you.

the old one (the one being used in this vid) has around 160mm of travel that you can actually use. There's a new one though, that actually has 180mm.

What is the actual travel of this fork ? For example Himalo claims that the 160mm model has only 130mm of real travel.

The forks is copy of Suntour durolux 36, so probably the same dust seals like other forks with 46mm OD unlike Suntour's 35mm forks with 44mm OD😬.

Best brand I’ve come crossed is the DNM shocks. Can be found on aliexpress and Amazon. Been running the same rear shock on both bikes for over a year.

What size brake rotors are you running with this setup?
203 in the front and 180 rear. Takes a 189 front by default and requires and adaptor to run 203.

But grip2 on fox 36 has firm clicks and requires some force to move, unessesary much effort, but ext feels good at the co presion knob and dials, but high-speed compression is smaller so will be less comfy 5o turn but Tha twill be the case on all forks. But budget forks don't have that adjustments, only have slow speed rebound and compression. But those are most important anyway, especially rebound which make wheel stick to the ground. But many cheap forks font have that, bad idea, good yours has.
I see Dnm did a upside down fork which was a bad one, closed cartridge, and not good tolerances. That's a budget Brad as ppl sat, but mostly known for their shocks. But after looking at video of strip down i was not impressed. I rather go sr Suntour, Manitou, X fusion or any other fork secondhand. But hope the Himalo fork works for you.
@@mtbboy1993 Get a rockshox lyrik, zeb or if you are trying to save money a Yari. Fox requires a lot of maintenance to stay smooth.
