That fork is a really good idea. I'm running with no suspension and rim brakes. You've inspired me to get a new fork, but doing so I could add front hydraulic brakes at the same time. Thanks for the idea!
Hey buddy I have a Stealth Bomber 8000kw with the Sabvoton 72v150amp. Controller. Like you said it’s very heavy weighting close to 200lbs your bike like half the weight of mine so it’s much lighter then mine. I see you have your frame welded for more support. Great idea with the extra weight your putting on the frame and that front downhill front fork shock-looks great and it looks like it’s riding really smooth and probably better handling also with the wider bars. I changed my goose neck to a real shot one and put on 30mm riser and180mm length handle bars on mine witch are much wider then the stock witch were I think 130mm in length. Much better steering and way more control. I have the same throttle you have and I love it, it snaps back real nice I wear gloves every time I ride I can’t ride without gloves because I’m so used to wearing them but also if you ever go down your natural reaction is to brake your fall with your hands. I would suggest you to wear them and your kids also for protection. I tell everyone this not just you so please don’t think I’m picking on you buddy. I’ve been riding for a very long time crotch rockets and been down and proper riding gear can save you life and even keep you from making a trip to the hospital. I’ve walked away from mine do to riding gear. Great upgrade to your bike. Please you and your kids ride safe and wear riding gear all the time and remember what I said about gloves. I sure would hate to hear you or you kids got badly hurt on you e-bikes. Love the video buddy I’ll be looking forward to more videos by you. Take care and God bless.
Thank you for you support I would try to add more protection with me and my boys and am concerned about their safety, yes the mod I did to the frame also add strength to the bike I can't believe that that fork took 3 pounds off the bike the front end lifts up faster which caught me off guard, lol at only 95 pounds it's super quick and fast top speed so far is 74mph which is faster than I need to go lol we ride almost everyday and enjoy every bit of it so how do you like your stealth bomer and what's the range on it? Love the advice and stay safe out here 😁
During the first maintenance, make sure that the fork is lubricated well enough. Someone on UA-cam tested and disassembled the cheap china double bridge forks and surprisingly found that they are no less stable than the well-known ones from rockshox or something. However, it turned out that the Chinese skimped on the oil, and there was almost none inside the fork. If your fork squeaks, you know what's going on.
Yesterday I exchanged the old suspension fork that was on the bike for a new one, now the bike rides safer in the rain than before in the dry :D someday! i will also install a nice double bridge fork like yours
You will have more freedom to ride over them bumpy terrain of a lot of fun. That video of the guy s front forks likely due to having two motors of the front constantly getting heavy friction on the bolt ends leading to constant riding over bumpy terrain. It was one of the videos I put in thought when formulating right set up of practical use of making my Dual Turbo Booster e bike.
@@E-bikeguy You using a rear 5000watt motor unlike the break guy for he used two 1500 watt motors which is hell a heavy of both motors at 50plus pounds including his 2 batteries at 30 pounds plus and with frame n parts his bike was about 150 .lbs which is way too heavy to use bike parts. Only using a Gear motor of being the 2nd lightest next to mid drives is Practical to use a 2nd motor. It's best to just get a 5000 watt single gearless motor like you have. Bike looks awesome now with them forks.
@@E-bikeguy I need them forks now too, lol. But need to upgrade battery to be at 60volts for my 2000wayt turbo dual. I've been using the 1500 w 52.v 20ah. Believe it is the terminal wires from battery that needs to be thicker. I go 2 mph more using 52v on 2000 watt but I'm feeling 40,mph off a 60v which is fast enough for me. Want the 72v but at 14.5 lbs is a bit too heavy for the size of my tires to handle pressure weight. Hey, great work on them new forks and going to get them in January. Making another Gear ⚙️ with a gearless motor but with a Dual Shock hard tail frame
@@E-bikeguy be careful with the compression cap screw it's cheap it will brake easy I have the same forks on my 26inch I ruined them messing with that screw
That red o-ring so you can do compression adjustments. It pretty much tell you how much the fork is compressing with your weight on it. It so you can set fork when you sit on bike not to go no more then a quarter down, that way it not bottoming out while riding. You want to set it where it 3/4 of travel left pretty much while on bike. It make it nice and smooth and not a pogo stick effect especially when stopping fast. After you have the correct PSI adjusted to pretty much lock out and turn 3 clicks to loose adjustment and that will likely be a good starting point with that fork to start to fine tune. Dealt with that same forth as a friend has one on a mid drive built for him and now moving it to a different frame as doing a bbshd built on that one.
$200 is about what it cost to get out of the pogo stick class of forks and get a fully tunable air fork. Don’t overlook the 4th and least known settings, air volume, which changes the spring progression rate. My fork originally had the same problem, if I adjusted the air profile for sag for 25% travel then it easily bottomed out. So you have to reduce the air volume in the pressure side with either special air volume reducers or just add more oil. In my case i just bled the air pressure out, removed the cap and let the fork fully compress, then added oil until it was about 1/2” under the bottom of the top cap. Then put it back towards and inflated it. Inflating it can be a hassle because the air volume is so small that 1 second of leaking when you remove the air chuck you lose half the pressure. Once the air voltage is correct your fork will feel more stable and predictable. It might allow you to use less compression dampening which some people use to prevent bottoming out when the air volume is too high. With sag and spring rate set, and rebound and compression dampening dialed in to your preference, it should give you a great ride.
The funny thing is that it's a downhill fork, but there's a yellow sticker on the bottom left that says you shouldn't use it for downhill :D, but the upgrade is 1000% noticeable, I also converted it to rockshox at the time and it's really great
Going to get those curved handle bars. Those forks you have I have to put on my later on list for I'm planning to buy e bike with dual shocks to convert with Turbo boost front motor. It be a Gear 350 or 500 watt to keep weight in range of practical over an Overkill of having two gearless motors which are the heavier ones and best to get high watt single motor like e bike life

No. Not really, the old forks did wore out, just didn't have enough travel, heavier, the lock out didn't work no more, so that's about it. So I brought the DH forks and it been great.
