I'm sorry you've had to justify your decision re not to show River like this, I just want to say that most of us totally understand and respect your choice and I personally love that we get to hear her singing and finding her voice xxx
Abigail Pearson Yes! It always amazed me to see the comments where people thought they were entitled to see her! I think Fleur has made the best decision for herself and her family, I think I would be the same in her position.
This was the most SENSIBLE parenting-related video I've ever seen. I really admire the way you speak about your daughter as an equal, a person with her own sensibilities and character, and you just love her for who she is and what she brings to your life, but you are not stupidly blinded by her existence and she is not your toy to play parent with. The fact that you still look after yourself just as before makes you a brilliant example for all women.
Can’t believe you’re still having to defend not showing her!! You are protecting her privacy and I think you are and should absolutely be free to make that decision without people giving you hell for that! I don’t mind. I love your content and appreciate every snippet of her. Especially those little noises she makes during this video❤️
TheBrazenGirl actually i think it's more disturbing to see people sharing every single thing about their children with hundreds of thousands of viewers.
Marina S Exactly, it skeeves me out, and I can't watch them. I would have hated having my every move vlogged when I was young, especially the tween years. I don't even post publicly on Facebook, I only share pictures with family who are too far away to visit.
I still don’t get this issue with Fleur not choosing to show her baby’s face. So what if she gets sponsorship opportunities with baby brands? What right does it give everyone to see her baby? Really don’t understand why grown up women get frustrated with not getting their way? None of us have the right to see River, whatever the reasons, and none of us have the right to remind Fleur that “we got her where she is”. So immature.
Louise T ..but she also cannot consent to the headless shots Fleur is posting?! I understand what you all are saying and I am all for Fleur not showing her...but she IS showing her just without her head on her IG stories constantly.
While I would (selfishly) love to see more of River purely on the level that cute babies are delightful, you don't need to validate your decision! It is completely understandable, and honestly a smart move in the world of the internet, when our lives are shared so freely and so permanently. At the risk of sounding like a granny, we really are all still working out what privacy means nowadays, for ourselves, our kids, and even for people around us. I think it's admirable that you are allowing River to make her own choices about sharing her life online when she is old enough to do so.
I so appreciate how you share your motherhood journey. You are honest and still, you have healthy boundaries. You radiate so much joy as a mom and I think that is wonderful.
You are amazing! Never apologize for choosing to not share, she's your number 1 priority! Love you, what you do and how classy you are! You inspire me!
I am not a parent but I would think that being a well known person, to be a child of that person have someone come up to that child say “Hello River” and not know who that person is, that could be confusing and dangerous for that child. I hope that makes sense. She should be allowed to have autonomy.
I know a lot of subscribers are frustrated about you not showing her, but I honestly don’t see the issue. I know I’m probably in the minority with that! Lol Whilst I don’t have children yet, I find your baby videos fun to watch...if nothing else but to see how you’re handling the juggling act of motherhood and career. I’m really liking the mix of content and all the hauls! :)
ASHLEY CASHNER, you’re definitely not alone. I wouldn’t feel comfortable putting my children on UA-cam so why would I expect Fleur to? I honestly think it’s ludicrous how people react and how entitled they are. Like, get a grip guys.
Amy Hayward I feel the same! I’m not big on sharing a ton of personal info on the internet anyway, so I definitely wouldn’t want my baby on the internet especially if I had the huge following Fleur has!!
Same! The entitlement is wild like it’s her kid, her decision. She shares so much with us. I get that people care, but channel that into being respectful of her decisions.
With risking that you all are gonna come for me, here is my opinion: I have no problem with her not showing her baby. I follow Rachhloves and she did a lot of pregnancy stuff on her channel, however after her children were born, decided that her children should have a say when they want to be in videos. That is the best decision in my opinion. HOWEVER, unlike Fleur, she's never posted a picture on her public IG since; not with or without head. She's never done any sponsored outfits or other sponsored baby stuff. I think Fleur is trying to a middle way between not showing her at all but still wanting to be a mummy vlogger and it's not working out. I would prefer her just talking like she does in this video but her showing her baby without her head so she can shill clothes seems just so...time-consuming and unnecessary. So it's not that I am DESPERATE / feel entitled to see her baby; I think choose one way you wanna do it and stick with it. But don't do this half / half thing.
loved that you talked about the fact that you weren't really a "kid person" before River. I'm the same way and often wonder what it'll be like when we do have kids. I know I want them, I just feel a bit awkward around kids haha. Still waiting for that light bulb moment telling me now is the time to go for it.
Andrea Clare same! It's like, I don't know how to interact/feel comfortable with other people's children but I think I would be different with my own children
This was me, I’m really not a fan of other people’s children, even my niece and nephew I have no idea how to talk to them or be with them however I have two of my own now and was incredibly broody, and I love my own. I have so much time for them, still find other people’s kids really annoying though 😂
The fact that you tried breastfeeding and continued for as long as you did before stopping even though it was difficult is something to be really proud of, also my baby weight didn't even start to come off til after 6 months postpartum, i compared myself to other mums who lost it straight away and it does no good, we're all different and you look amazing!!x
Fleur, don't let anyone judge you for the decisions you've made for yourself and for precious baby River! You are doing great! Mom shaming shouldn't be a thing, unless the baby is seriously in danger. There are plenty of babies in the world that were fed only formula and they survive and thrive! You are the best mom River could ever have, so don't let other people get you down! I'm a new mom too, and I'm SO over the unsolicited advice and the mom shaming! It's hard enough to feel like we're doing the right thing. Just keep doing what you're doing mama! You're amazing!
I love hearing your perspective. It's so lovely to hear about how you're bonding with your little one. Sounds like you're taking a really sensible approach to things like weight loss and feeding. You have to figure out what works for your family. Sending love to you all.
I think it’s important to have voices that share a wide range of experiences after baby is born. Social media is wonderful in many ways, but absolutely nobody needs to be exposed to unrealistic standards for weight loss postpartum (or perfect bodies at ANY age). I had three children and can tell you that finding balance with one’s children in life is a constant challenge, no matter what their ages. Thank you for this update!
Fleur I really enjoyed this video, it was so frank and honest and helps other mums to know that they are not the odd one out if they don’t spring back into shape etc. I am a new one myself with my 5 month old so have followed your journey of motherhood alongside my own,
Fleur I’ve been a subscriber for years. I’m a mom of 2 (I have an 11 month old) and I’m also a pediatric nurse. I must say you’re doing a wonderful job in every aspect that you mentioned. You never need to defend your decisions or explain yourself. Be confident in your own journey of motherhood. Own it. There is no perfect mom. I still can’t fit back into my prepregnancy jeans. Most days I feel like a hot mess, I work part time, I have major mom guilt. We’re all on this crazy journey together! It’s ok to let go and relax and enjoy the ride. River is beautiful and she couldn’t have better parents to raise and protect her.
Fleur please don't ever worry about not sharing things about River, just because you share certain aspects of your life online doesn't mean that you're obligated to share ALL of your life with us- the vast majority of us completely understand that so please don't let the few exceptions make you feel bad about a personal choice that you made for your daughter, you have every right to protect her, you're doing amazing! xxx
Love this real video from Fleur. I don't understand why people would be annoyed of you not sharing more of River, it's not like she can give you her permission! I'm currently 17 weeks pregnant and found your early vlogs so helpful x
I love your honesty. Science is great, formula is great. Great if breastfeeding works for you but for those of us who it doesn’t, it’s wonderful we have the option to formula feed and not something we should feel bad about. I totally respect your decision not to share photos etc of River, I don’t understand why others are getting upset, she’s your child it’s got nothing to do with them. Thank you for the update and being so honest. My little girl is 6 weeks younger than River so I’ve found all your updates really useful xx
Fleur, I love love love babies and although I’d love to see River for my own selfish reasons, I think it’s awesome and very smart that you keep her private. As any good mom, you are concerned about her safety and well-being and you don’t owe anybody an explanation or apology. The people who don’t understand and are upset that you don’t show her on camera don’t truly love you or respect your wishes! I’ve been watching you for countless years, since before you got engaged to Mike. It’s been so nice for me to see you start a family and grow.
Sweetie, your a great mother. Your family is happy and healthy so you are golden. People that tell you how to live your life need to look closer at their own.
Thank you for creating this Fleur! As a women is anxious about motherhood I found this invaluable! So much focus I feel is placed on the baby's arrival and little on life after birth and how things change in your life, how your mindset changes, your body, your routine, your relationships. You acknowledgement that you had felt awkward around other babies before River was born is exactly how I feel now, but that does not preclude us from becoming incredible mummies! You have continued to inspire, educate and reassure me throughout your pregnancy and I really do value your content for its insight. Thank you! Also happy birthday! Heres to an awesome year ahead! :-)
I think your decision not to show River is not just understandable but the best decision to make. Something often glossed over is how many youtubers exploit their children for views which is both unethical and carries a high chance of damadging the child psychologically, particularily if they are expected to perform for the camera every day on daily vlogs. (Not saying every family vlogger but many do) A child lacks the ability to consent to their lives (often intimate details) being broadcasted on the internet and has a right to privacy. I am sure River will grow up to thank you!
The SacconeJoly family is one that seems to heavily feature their children in videos. They don't seem like bad people but it really feels wrong - those children are not choosing to be shown to millions of people. Really creeps me out.
Nat T any vloggers of children personally, until they’re 13 or choose to be actors or singers in public life, they have a right to their privacy like anyone else
Nat T Jonathan says that although it seems like he shares tons of the kids, the actually don’t & a lot of the kids life they actually keep private most of it
My babe is currently 9 months, and I can certainly relate to so many of the things you have shared in this video. I went back to work right away (also at home) and my husband has taken leave and I find the work-life balance to be so difficult. Thanks so sharing, it is so helpful to hear of others experiences that are similar!
Thanks for sharing this. Don't feel like you owe anything to anyone you're just doing what worked for you. A lot of people feel judged by their pregnancy choices but it's nice to hear a real experience with all the stuggles and joys x
I relate to so much of this. The hair loss, struggling to shed the last 10 lbs, the loss of motivation, but also loving it all. You’re not alone Fleur 💕
I've said this before on one of your videos but you give me so much hope. I've never been someone who's great with kids or who interacts with babies a lot, but somehow I've always imagined a future where I have my own kids, but this juxtaposition is causing me quite a bit of anxiety so I love hearing how much you enjoy your new mum life.
I don’t understand why people are getting upset because you’re not showing River. I love baby content, but I’m mostly interested in your experience as a mom. There is so much pressure on new moms (and moms just in general) and I love to hear about your experience since you’re obviously rocking at it!
You are so inspirational! Thanks for always being real and honest with us and not trying to gloss over the hard parts of life. I'll always look up to you!
People love to judge and compare. I don’t understand where do people find the right to say things about other people’s choices! People should just lift one another! Fleur you are an amazing mummy !
Thank you Fleur! watching your videos about pregnancy and becoming a mum have made me very excited to become one myself! And i've found that I'm a lot less nervous and more confident in myself because of your videos.
So glad to hear the little bit at the end about how you weren't sure you would be a natural mum - I feel the same (don't have kids yet) and think it's not something a lot of people talk about! x
I really admire you not forcing River into the spotlight. You have your priorities straight, and one thing I've always loved about watching you is how down to earth and "realistic" you are, and I think this decision reflects that. The internet is forever and I always think it's a bit sad when it's obvious that babies and little kids are forced to be in videos when they're the ones whose friends will be going back and watching these in the future. Plus like you said, being a new mum is such an overwhelming whirlwind that truthfully so much time goes back that you just don't think about it! And with all the super strong parenting opinions out there, it just frankly makes it easier to not always have that pressure on you. You guys are doing fantastic!
We totally understand and respect your decisions. Be it showing your baby, feeding her, your work life. It’s not anyone else’s place to tell you what to do. Lots of love
Don't let the comments about your decision to show River bother you; she is your daughter and its totally understandable that you want to protect her. I for one respect your decision. Each to their own. Thank you for sharing your experience! Ive always loved how transparent you are with your feelings and things. I really do enjoy your videos 💓
I love how you are unapologetic towards your protectiveness with River. I know it must be hard to make all of your subscribers happy, but sometimes you have to put your foot down. So interesting to hear your perspective as I hope I will go to the next step within the next two years.
Six months already?! My, how time flies!!! And I'm sure that people are frustrated about not seeing her because they have become so invested in you and just care. However, it is important as you've said that everyone respect your decisions! This is also YOUR channel, not River's or anyone else's. And she is your daughter! You choose what you share with us. I think it's wonderful how much you HAVE chosen to share! You just keep sharing what you're comfortable sharing about your beautiful family ❤️ Best wishes to y'all! You look great and from what we've seen of her she's an absolute doll
So happy to hear that you’re doing well and River is doing well! I’ve always loved your vlogs, you have such an amazing relationship with your friends and family, and I genuinely enjoy you sharing with us.
Thank you for sharing everything about where you're at, breastfeeding, weight, all of it. It helps me feel much less alone in my own experience. We all go through pregnancy and parenting in our own ways, and sharing need not be judged, just taken from if it helps and bonding over the ways it's both the same and different.
So glad to hear you are doing well! For me, it took time to get comfortable in my mom decisions and to get used to being a "new" version of my "old" self. It seems like you are finding your groove, too! Lots of love to you all! 💚
I still haven’t lost my baby weight, my baby is 15!!! 😹 sounds like you are having a fab time, I do miss the baby days. I totally understand keeping your baby private, the internet is full of weirdos xxx
Appreciate your honesty about breastfeeding!! I’m literally days from having a baby and SO nervous about breastfeeding... it’s just nice to hear other stories.💙💙
Absolutely understand your decision to keep your sweet River’s privacy as a priority. We have a 8 month old little girl and she has changed our world in the best way possible.
I had asked a question in regards to feeding and wasn’t sure if you were comfortable, but I want to thank you for answering. I had latch issues and wasn’t able to breastfeed exclusively and pumped until I just wasn’t making enough even with doing everything to try and produce more. No mommy shaming at all, it’s something I even struggle to accept but fed is best is what my friend always told me. River is beautiful and I wish you all the best from one long time viewer turned mommy.
Fab vid. My twins are 1 now, I also struggled with breastfeeding - wrapped it up when they were 3.5-4 months. STILL struggling with weight loss. I'm also very private re my kids, even as a regular person. Totally get why you want to keep her life private. Best wishes for everything ahead!
Love your honest account of the first 6 months. My youngest is just over a year, and my body is now a totally different shape. Your body has done a wonderful thing ❤ xx
Ahh thanks for the baby update! Mine is 20 months and a joy,, definitely moving now. My mom got a baby-proofer right before she started walking...definite lifesaver!
I love My Fitness Pal! It makes you definitely think about every single thing you put into your body. What I always loved doing with it is submitting my meals all that morning and then tweaking it slightly depending on how the day went. Made me meal prep like crazy and really be strict about things. Regardless of all of this you look amazing as usual.
I love how candid you are about the thoughts you had before birthing River, regarding work etc. I’m not a mother yet but hopefully will be in a couple of years and I feel the same...I know I want to keep working and I’m afraid I won’t feel attached to my baby and/or feel super guilty. I’ve never been super maternal either, when compared to many of my friends. I guess you never know how it will be until you actually experience it!
Hi Fleur! Thank you so much for opening up about how you felt about having children before having River. I'm also someone who probably wants kids down the road, but was always worried because I don't love children and can't necessarily picture myself with kids, if that makes sense. It's so reassuring to know that you felt similarly. Loved your content for a long time and it's great to see you so happy and settling into this new phase of your life!
I can relate, I actually hated kids when I was younger, I had my first at 23 and found that I didn't want to go back to work, I loved being a mom so much, I had two more and never went back to work until they were all in school full time. Hearing River was priceless, it put a great big smile on my face!
I lost so much hair between 3 and 6 months postpartum! Now my baby is 8 months and I am pregnant again! My hormones have re-activated all my dormant hair folicles which are rapidly growing again. I now have a strange sort of fringe and thicker hair again.
I really don't understand all the negative comments about not sharing River. Everything Fleur puts on her channel or any of her other social media is her choice. -This channel is about Fleur, and being a mom is part of who she is now, so she can talk about those experiences all she wants. River is not a part of Fleur, she is her own person, so she doesn't need to be shown in every video or post about motherhood. -When Fleur gets stuff from "baby brands" it's because she's a parent, and parents are the ones that buy things from those brands. River is not the one reviewing the item, the babies are not the ones purchasing things. Fleur is just a parent speaking to other parents. River is not required to be shown in that content. -When Fleur posts River's ootd on instagram stories it's because Fleur is the one that picked the outfit and wants to show it off, and show other parents where to get cute baby clothes. None of that requires River's face. -River is not an accessory or entertainment or "part of Fleur's brand." River is a baby, and she doesn't owe you anything 🤷♀️
Totally agree with not sharing pictures or videos of River! And good for you for not breastfeeding, do what works for you!! Please keep making more videos like this! I love them and they are super helpful!
I'm surprised (although not really) that people get upset when moms don't share their babies constantly! I don't disagree with anyone that does, that's their choice but we moms usually feel that motherly instinct to protect our children so it's not odd to me when moms don't share. Mine are going to be 16 and 12 and I still don't share very many photos of them. I just don't like the idea of their photos being all over for the world to see (even if no one wants to see them, lol). But, anyway, I loved hearing the update! She's beautiful! Much love to you all.
Michelle Rhodes I've had a couple of my friends become parents the last year. My Facebook feed has been going literally bananas with baby photos, a particular couple even posted a picture of their baby literally with the umbilical cord uncut, on the mother's belly, a minute after the baby was born... I much more appreciate the pictures where they either don't even show their baby's face or put an emoticon on it. It's a privacy issue! So many celebrities choose to have their children's faces blurred out and suddenly a blogger does this and everyone loses their minds?
Don't worry about not showing River, you're her mother and you and Mike knows whats best for her. People who beat down on you about not getting to see her need to understand that not everyone are okey with showing someone so innocent to the world. My personal oppinion is that you're doing just right, and when River grows up she can decide for herself if she wants a life in the "spotlight" and being recognised on the street. Motherhood suits you so well, lots of love to you and Mike❤
Such an impressive thing for you to say “stop watching my content because it is not going to change” about showing River! I completely understand. My husband and I have chosen to keep our 2 yr old off of our social media for the same reason! And we don’t have millions of followers. Keep on being true to yourself!
I don't understand why people get so frustrated with you not sharing more about your baby.... It's your decision! Actually, I appreciate when you decide to share a little bit! It makes it really special! And if you want to be more private with baby River, is your choice... People have to understand that
Thank you for being open about stopping breastfeeding. I feel the same that I’m going to be judged that is stopped but I knew it was the right decision. My c section wound became infected and I had to have surgery twice on it and I just had to preserve some energy for myself to heal
I have been loving your honesty and creativity and especially u the way u r! I totally understand that breastfeeding can literally drives u crazy as it does to me I think you’re being a good mom and the most important thing is that all family members are happy. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Totally agree with the way you've decided to keep river protected and private. I think people on here often forget that although we watch your videos that doesn't give us open access to your life all the respect to you! P.s she is beautiful
I exclusively breastfed for 7-8 mos and started supplementing. Baby is 11 months now. With that said, I would never judge a mama for wanting to go a different route. People don’t know what’s going on in that persons life. I never understood why people judge others and mom shame them. To me I believe that as long as baby is fed, it’s all good. Everyone’s different. ✌️
This video brought back so many memories of my own children at this age! 6-9 months was such a great age as their personality and character comes out more and they pay more attention to the world around them. You will definitely miss this stage when she becomes mobile! With my first I was so eager for each new milestone and tried to encourage her to crawl, with my second I just wanted her to stay in one place and not change! It really does fly by so don't feel guilty about wanting to spend time with her, they are little for such a short space of time x
I am so glad you included the bit about not being naturally maternal especially with other people's children, I have always been like this and always worried about how it will be when I have my own. I am 26 and in a long term relationship so you have given me hope that maybe it will be different when I have my own children and not just the disaster I picture in my head.
I’m a newbie to UA-cam video watching this year, after getting pregnant in November, wanting to consume all the content and now having my baby a week today by c-section due to breech positioning eeek! I just wanted to say that I really admire your work ethic and your position on River’s privacy. River will grow up to be an autonomous individual and I love the fact that you have given her the choice to be a public figure or not. I’m already struggling with people’s opinions about my body, my pregnancy, my birth choices and I can’t imagine having to make decisions in the public eye and then having people be so critical and opinionated. Ultimately what matters is your little family’s happiness and if you continue to do that, you will at least continue to have one loyal subscriber in me - big love!
Thanks for the update Fleur. It's interesting how different every body is. I am doing 5:2 right now and in anout 10 weeks have lost 12.5 lbs. The fast days can be hard though. All I think about is eating. I get through it by reminding myself I can eat tomorrow.
I admire you for the decision not showing River.. Internet is scary place and keeping her privacy as much as possible is the best choice you could make ❤️ Love from Slovakia 🌞
Love this! I really respect how body-positive you are. I think you look gorgeous, but it is always hardest to see it in yourself, especially when your body has gone through major changes. Little River sounds lovely and she suits her name so well! Especially because she kept her blue eyes. Love to your family and furdeforce of course!
Fleur, maybe consider a play pen? Then you can just put her into that pen and know she is safe while you are doing things. Play pens are very popular here in Belgium.
EvelineUK, they are brilliant, IMMHO. I learned to stand in them and could safely play by myself (with things that were large and soft enough), and my parents or grandparents could keep an eye on me all while being busy around the house.
EvelineUK, Dutch & Belgian "culture" aren't that far apart are they? :D They could hurt themselves so much just being on the ground when they are that rolling over, crawling stage, and you are right a play pen is a safe haven for them. Some are these square full wooden boxes (most are in this country), but some you can build and you can "wall off" a part of the living room for them with it - they come in different sizes and modalities these days.
I paused this 5 minutes in to write this comment as I felt as though I was watching myself when my son was born! I also didn’t want to post pictures as I felt incredibly protective (he’s now 5 and I take any opportunity of a cute selfie with him now 🙄😂), also the breast feeding issue- again, I couldn’t do it, and I felt awful about that but honestly, she will be absolutely fine and healthy just as she is!! The reality of being a mum is hard, and I feel no-one speaks about that enough from a real life prospective so thank you Fleur for being so honest! X 💕
Ahhh you are a great mama Fleur! Total life changer isn’t it? I remember those pumping days....it is so consuming isn’t it? I stopped breastfeeding after 16 months and it was soooo nice to wear a normal bra again 😂😂 Working out definitely helps me feel me again too. It did take me a year to start it back up though xx
You’re such a pleasure to watch ❤️ I really appreciate you doing this update! Completely understand that you want to keep her out of the spotlight, but it’s so nice just to hear you talk about her. You’re going to be a wonderful mum and I’m so happy for you! You’ve really made me want to be a mum soon ❤️
Thank you for such a REAL update! Breastfeeding is such a personal choice and it's heartbreaking that you even have to think twice about sharing your decision. Motherhood is hard enough without extra unnecessary guilt from others. Thank you for talking openly and honestly. I'm 5 months PP and still don't fit back into my jeans either 😉
First of all, I just want to congratulate you (and Mike of course!) on reaching this 6-month milestone in River’s life. You two are incredible parents and you are an amazing mum! It’s hard not to worry if you’re doing the best or the right thing or if you did something wrong, but that’s okay. People are naturally curious and will want to share their advice but you don’t have to take it. You know what’s best for your child and people really do need to respect that. Everyone is different in setting their boundaries around sharing/privacy but that’s okay. I’m happy when you do share River with us but I don’t expect you to! You should not feel bad or pressured to share River with us just because other mothers like to. I understand the hesitation of being so public since you are a youtuber/social media influencer and you are subject to even more criticism and speculation than the average person. Please know that you do not need to defend yourself to people in your choices and that you are a very strong and amazing person!! Wishing the best with everything!
Love watching your journey and how honest you are. Very happy to see any little glimpses of sweet River.... but understand why you don't share a lot (I was the same with my son).
Whoa Fleur, I’m so sorry you are being bombarded with negative comments. It’s hard enough being a new first time mom, without being criticized by tons of strangers. I’m a new mom also, my daughter is 10 months old now! I don’t know how you deal with it. I really liked this video, and your honest chat! I’m happy to hear you guys are getting on so well! Hang in there mama! ❤️
Love you so much Fleur because you are real. Thank you for speaking up about postpartum body shaming. I soo agree that moms who “fit back in their jeans” almost immediately after giving birth should be sensitive that they are not the norm and that showing off (although they are surely entitled to feel proud and happy with themselves) will make NO ONE else feel good. Caring for your body so it can heal and caring for your newborn are what is important after childbirth, not zipping your skinny jeans. PS, I think that’s amazing that you can see sheep outside your window 😍🐑
Totally Agree about not over sharing children online it really isn’t a great idea for many reasons and still like your videos think your classy and sensible and a good mum xxxx
Thank you for the update! I respect your want to keep her private, you shouldn’t have to justify that to people. And I think you look great for being 6 months post baby!!
loved that video! you are such an honest und layed back woman! congrats, you´re doing a very good job! you can be very proud of yourself! and it´s totally OK to keep little one away from cameras and youtube. family life is private life and everyone should respect that. los of love xx
Just wanted to let you know I'm experiencing just about the same things you are. My first was born a few months ahead of River and I had to give up breastfeeding after 2 months due to dairy intolerance. It was a hard decision to make due to the pressure you get from people about breastfeeding, but I personally couldn't pump, change my diet while getting enough calories, handle the baby and work. You sometimes just gotta figure out what works best for you and your baby. There is nothing wrong with formula! Also experienced the same skin issues and weight loss issues and mom guilt about working from home, especially lately. Basically just wanted to let you know I'm in the same boat as you and that you can do it! Thank you for sharing your experience :)
I love how real and honest you are! Very sorry you feel you have to justify your decision to be more private with your sweet daughter but most of us get it and respect your choices! It's obviously up to you and your husband what you feel is appropriate in showing and protecting your child is always top priority in my book :) And thank you for being honest about the weight loss journey and breast feeding and it's difficulties indeed of glossing over things! I think so many people see certain people sharing only the positives of that and think if it doesn't happen that way for them there must be something wrong with them as a mother and that's very unsettling! Really enjoyed the video! 👍🏻👍🏻
Puréed pumpkin is quite sweet so try river with that. Also Sainsbury’s do a wheat puff cereal which are salt and sugar free. Will help with pincher grip and they sell pouches of prunes which are handy to have in the cupboard for constipation. Also the sell really really small pasta. My daughter is 10 months on July 17th and she’s only just getting teeth on the bottom. Some babies don’t get their teeth until later.
You are so relatable. I stopped bf after 1 month because it was so tough so dont feel guilty! My weight loss was so slow. Exercise has helped a little but has been amazing for mental health. Hes 3 months old and ive only lost 5lb but im happier than ever xx
Marijke Fox agree it’s one babies face, I don’t get the obsession, however beautiful River probably is
I know its so messed up. River is a person who can’t consent to be shared on the internet!!!
Louise T ..but she also cannot consent to the headless shots Fleur is posting?! I understand what you all are saying and I am all for Fleur not showing her...but she IS showing her just without her head on her IG stories constantly.
Sabine H this is silly logic
So she's willing to make money off her child without the child's consent but it's not ok to show her face?? It's ridiculous
The Age of Fabulous great comment
I know a lot of subscribers are frustrated about you not showing her, but I honestly don’t see the issue. I know I’m probably in the minority with that! Lol
Whilst I don’t have children yet, I find your baby videos fun to watch...if nothing else but to see how you’re handling the juggling act of motherhood and career.
I also totally understand. I have a 3 month daughter and havent posted a single picture online, because I dont want to show her off to the world.
Believe me, having your own is completely different from interacting with other people’s kids!
this is me 100%. I'm so worried my not being a kid person makes me unsuitable as a parent.
It's totally normal to be protective of your child. You owe us nothing, so it's actually quite nice of you to share at all. Thanks for the video!
Thank you! Best of luck with your pregnancy - so excited for you to experience it all... such exciting times ahead! Xx
Love this really raw and real side of Fleur! Not being afraid to call it as it is. I'm loving it!
It’s amazing seeing you growing into the mom role, you are doing amazing and what works for your family, lots of love to your little family!
I love how honest you are about your insecurities, so many people can relate. You look amazing btw, yellow is such a great color on you!
Sarah Jane honestly my son is 19 and that baby weight is finally starting to go😂😂.
Kymberli Shea that gives me hope, my daughter just turned 18 y/o and baby weight seems so stubborn haha
Appreciate your honesty about breastfeeding!! I’m literally days from having a baby and SO nervous about breastfeeding... it’s just nice to hear other stories.💙💙
A very honest depiction of how you feel and whats going on. Thank you. And Fleur keep doing you , the way you do you. You seem to be "killing it".
It's so cute when you say she's great company. Don't think I ever heard anyone say something like that about their 6month old :)
Thank you for your candor! It was nice to hear real Mom details and fun to hear baby updates especially since our daughters are the same age!
Meredith Volkman great comment
Love how honesty and real you are
Don't worry about not showing River, you're her mother and you and Mike knows whats best for her.
Did anyone else see that huge bug in the background flying!!! At around 3:45 ahhhhhhg
its on her hair right at the beginning!
It looked like a mosquito
Danielle Williams I don’t see it on her hair where
It is a dragon fly - not harmfull 😊
Daddy long leg on her hair 😂 it’s not harmful, if she’s looking back so funny
I exclusively breastfed for 7-8 mos and started supplementing. Baby is 11 months now. With that said, I would never judge a mama for wanting to go a different route. People don’t know what’s going on in that persons life. I never understood why people judge others and mom shame them. To me I believe that as long as baby is fed, it’s all good. Everyone’s different. ✌️
Dana Fuertez Chang well said! 👊🏻👊🏻
I still can't stop watching your lovely baby videos, despite not planning on being a parent anytime soon! x
Love this! I really respect how body-positive you are. I think you look gorgeous, but it is always hardest to see it in yourself, especially when your body has gone through major changes. Little River sounds lovely and she suits her name so well! Especially because she kept her blue eyes. Love to your family and furdeforce of course!
I'm glad you mentioned about breastfeeding / pumping / bottle feeding... I've gone through the same thing, I stopped pumping at 2 months.
Fleur, maybe consider a play pen? Then you can just put her into that pen and know she is safe while you are doing things. Play pens are very popular here in Belgium.
Marleen G. We use pack and plays and gated areas in the US.
Pack and plays are a big deal in the US. Are they just not popular in the UK?
Yep, playpens are just fabby. We used one for our eldest when he was little!! it was a godsend, that and the jumperoo!!!
I loved this video! I love how honest it was and how happy you are, and I totaly understand why you don't show her on camera!
You look fantastic Fleur!!! So glad to hear that everyone is doing well!!!
I am thin with a good metabolism and it STILL took me a whole year to lose baby weight. You look amazing. Don’t let anyone else drag you down!
Thank you for sharing her with us Fleur! I've been following you for a few years now and it is so exciting to see you as a mum.
loved that video! you are such an honest und layed back woman! congrats, you´re doing a very good job! you can be very proud of yourself! and it´s totally OK to keep little one away from cameras and youtube. family life is private life and everyone should respect that. los of love xx
Can you do an updated baby product video?? Like what toys, seats, etc. you find to be good?
You are so relatable. I stopped bf after 1 month because it was so tough so dont feel guilty! My weight loss was so slow. Exercise has helped a little but has been amazing for mental health. Hes 3 months old and ive only lost 5lb but im happier than ever xx
