    This is a little off topic, but I think your the man for this question. I have a jandy aquapure 1400. My salinity is at 3.2 before I turn on my cell, once I turn on my cell the salinty jumps all the way up untill I get a reading of HH. The cell shuts off, the salinity comes back down in about 15 sec and when the salinity is at the proper level it restarts and repeats the same process over and over. When I metered the backboard cell ouput it was only 12vdc so im gussing the board needs replacing.

    Yes. Turn the valve and see if it works. Maybe you have a Home Warranty Policy from the seller in effect still if your house was purchased less than 1 year ago. You can get someone out to look at it for $55.00 in that case & all repairs are at no cost... if it has been more than a year or if you didn't get a policy through escrow it will be more.

    Question I have to replace my heater. I was wondering can I put an automatic valve that cuts water flow to heater when it’s not in use? I have one already to go to spa mode . I just want to stop running water through heater when I don’t need to

    • @SPL
      @SPL  Рік тому

      You can add a bypass valve. Easy to do when you install it. 3-way valve.

      @@SPL would I just connect the new actuator to the same place the current one is connected so when it goes into spa mode the actuator sends water into heater? Hope that makes sense .

    Great video. My problem is that when I turn my suction and return valves to spa mode the spa water level starts to drop. I suspect that the return valve is faulty and needs to be replaced. Thoughts? Thank you.

    • @SPL

      sounds like the gate in the valve might be letting water back to the pool. If it is a Jandy valve that is an easy fix - just replace the gate valve.

      @@SPL Thanks for the reply. I don't have a Jandy valve, just a simple diverter valve. I'll probably order a replacement diverter valve and install it myself.

    How long should I have the heater running before I use the jacuzzi?

  • @SPL
    @SPL  11 років тому

    I have a specific video on that salt system. It is racked with errors and problems. As far as I was told the board is not a replaceable part any longer (Jandy Tech support) - although I see it online for sale which is odd. Watch the readout for a while and see if an number pops up like 172 or 181. It should display some error code. I have three on my route and 2 are offline. I noticed that you have another bypass pipe with a simple on/off valve(blue) going to the spa. Doesn't water still flow to the SPA even though the diverter is turned off to the Spa for Pool mode. I can see it at 10 seconds into the video. Do you always leave that valve open? What is the purpose of it? Thanks.

    My question is should the spa be overflowing while it’s heating in the Jets are on. I have this problem all the time and I can’t remember if it’s OK for her to be overflowing or is there a way to turn it off if need be. Can you let me know? Thank you so much

    • @SPL
      @SPL  3 роки тому

      No, water should not be spilling into the pool. That means the valves are probably not correct.

    My pool heater hasn't worked since I bought the house last year. The spa stopped working after a guy came to fix a leaking pool pipe. To see if the spa jets are still working, would I follow all of your steps except turning on the gas to the heater?

  • @ejrSpAcE
    @ejrSpAcE 7 років тому

    Your heater has temperature control for both spa and pool, what difference does it make if when diverting the flow at the valve what temperature is set at? In this case you are using only spa, how does the heater know where the water is flowing to? If you set temperature at heater for pool and have your valves flowing only to spa does the water not get warm? Or the two being that it heats in a different manner because of the size difference?

    • @SPL
      @SPL  7 років тому

      It is so you can set them at specific temperatures. For instance you can leave the Spa Mode at 100 degrees and Pool Mode at 83 degrees. But if you hit Spa on the heater and don't move the valves, the pool will heat up to 100 degrees. Hope that makes some sense.

    Great video, like usual. Thank you for all the information. I have the exact same setup as your video but my spa jets do not produce bubbles. They just rotate and feed the hot water into the spa. We bought the house 3.5 years ago and I think it has only worked a few times. Any ideas? Thanks!

      Maybe the line that lets air in got clogged up. Look for a cut PVC pip sticking up 2 ft off the ground - sometimes behind the spa or by equipment.

    I know this a simple question how do you heat the pool only?

    • @SPL
      @SPL  8 років тому +1

      +Martin Warren Just turn the heater on with the valves in pool mode. If your spa does not have a bypass valve it will not heat up along with the pool. If there is a bypass valve there is no way to heat the pool without heating the spa up also.

    My setup is similar. I hate it. I think there should be separate pumps/filters. My spa remains off all the time because I don't want to keep switching manually back and forth. I also don't want to heat the pool. It's a really stupid setup, IMHO.

    • @SPL

      Fej Stipp It could be that you have multiple programs in the system. That happens a lot as it is sometimes complicated to delete a program, so when you add a new one the old one is in there. So putting it in time-out mode and using the outdoor panel is a safe bet since it will give you 3 hours and then go back to auto on it's own. I don't like Service mode as you can forget to switch it back.
