Awesome overview 👍. I'm configuring a 100 gal tub as a mini pool. I was going to tie in a skimmer and a port at the base of the water tank, then to the pump & filter. I think a valve to regulate the skimmer and the lower port may be helpful, but it's trial & error 🙄.
I dont have either one of those vavles😪😪 I'm losing water and only know what one of the vavle do. The other one is stuck open and needs to be replaced. Could that be why im loosing water?
I only have one diverter valve. It didn't have the nut, so I don't know if my handle is facing the correct way before putting a nut back on. Is it possible for me to put the diverter handle any direction?
Question: I replaced a check valve and a 3 way valve and I still get a slight dribble of water out of the waterfall. Also, Should a reducer be used when connecting PVC that goes to the water feature feed?
I am confused. I have one red ball valve that I only use when backwashing but every year I get confused which way is which and this video was a little confusing because in one picture up and down was open and side to side was closed and then you said it the other way around. Could you please clarify for me? Also, when I am not backwashing does it matter if it’s left open or closed? I can take a picture if it helps. I also have a weird looking thing that you have to turn but I have never touched it cause I don’t know what it is. Right now my skimmer is not working at all but everything else is working fine. I have a few more questions but before I ask and attach pictures I wanted to be sure you were still viewing this page. Thank you so much.
3:48 is the ball valve section. Parallel with the plumbing and the valve is open. Perpendicular and the valve is closed. As for the other question, you'll need to be more specific with "If it's left open or closed".
If the valve is on the suction or return side, it should be open. Some filters have one discharge valve on the bottom that should remain closed when filtering.
@@cleanpoolspa-ultimateswimm6373 I am not sure I know what you mean by on the suction or return side…sorry. How do I know if it’s on the suction or return side?
Could you do a video about the pool equipment being below the pools water level? And what to do when it isn’t closed off and you open the pump to clean the basket or open the filter to clean the cartridge filters and water comes rushing out the equipment?
Also, thank you for posting these super helpful tips!! You’ve helped me with so much stuff since I’ve started working in pool maintenance 🙏🏼🙏🏼 I give you a lot of the credit on to why I still have my job lol 😆
If you're system is below the pool you want to close off all the skimmer valves and main drain valve. Also if you have a MPV or DE filter you put the valve on close. You're gonna get some water that was already in the line but it will stop. Now sometimes you mite have a faulty valve we're water just continues to run out. Don't panic just turn on the motor and it will suck in enough water to we're you can get the lid back on. Same with a 2 stage motor.
Pool valves usually input or output to multiple sources. For instance, one of my valves feeds either 2, 4, or 0 of my returns. Another valve eithers pulls water from the skimmer, main drain, a little from one/more from the other, equal from each, or nothing.

Be nice if you explained the functions of the spa, pool, and cleaner.

@@pmarieb4083 Suction side is from the pool to the pump pot. Return side is from the pump pot back to the pool.

Great idea. When I find a pool that meets those parameters I'll surely do it. Thanks for watching.

Why not just leave a valve open
