- Tzipi Hotovely, the Israeli ambassador to the UK's recent appearance on LBC led to calls for her expulsion as she told host Iain Dale in no uncertain terms that Israel's military must target civilian infrastructure in Gaza. This is a war crime under the Geneva Conventions.
Hotovely told Dale that the IOF have found that "every school, every mosque, every second house" has an access to tunnels, which were first built when Gaza was under Israeli control in 1980.
"That's an argument for destroying the whole of Gaza, every single building," Dale said, and Hotovely swiftly replied, "do you have another solution, how to destroy the underground tunnel city?"
Journalist Hamza Ali Shah said the ambassador's statement amounted to "a clear call for genocide."

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24th 2021, Ukraine did not attack Russia. Ukraine has not said they want to kill all Russians. Ukraine has not committed atrocities against Russia, taken Russian civilians hostage, built a 500+ mile tunnel system with entrances from homes, hospitals, schools and religious buildings.

I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of the big dig in Boston. It’s not a giant underground city but It was an immense, expensive, difficult and time-consuming project. It took forever, and there is plenty of evidence of it. it took many years with unlimited supplies and equipment. It’s a very flawed argument to say that 2.2 million people can actually live just fine on top of one another, like in Tokyo. Of course she neglects to consider the centuries of architectural development and decades of urban planning it took to get to that point. It would be more accurate to compare Gaza to Tokyo just after march 1945 after the firebombing, but even then, I still think I’d rather be in Tokyo as a civilian under those circumstances, that’s just how bad the situation is.
