Since the rubber strip you have to lift to install the rack also serves as weather stripping, and the rack does not form a tight seal directly on the roof of the vehicle, where does the water go when the car gets rained or snowed on?

The Ski rack fills the gap in with its own rubber seal when you attach the ski rack to the car in the space the strip is lifted, Thank you for watching!

No, it should not if it is the OEM factory ski rack for that year and model | Here is a video detailing the process: ua-cam.com/video/slrK6FXxCnk/v-deo.html

Great video. two questions - (1) does the 992 911 coupes (including 4GTS) have the same setup as the 991 you show in the vidoe? (2) for only $60 US, is there any reason not to tick this option box even if I never use it just to have that flexibility for resale, etc; that is, any risk of a rattle, leak or other issues?

We have found that the 992 ski rack works on 991 and 991.2 but it has to be coaxed on as you can see in the video. You now have to selected “preparation for roof transport system” option for $75 whereas before you did not, and it must be selected despite what roof was selected; we have found that roughly 2% of new 992’s are being optioned with them on order. Thank you for watching!

@@OfficialPorscheCentreCalgary Thanks for response. Any risk of a rattle, leak or other issues by merely selecting the "roof preparation" option even if a rack is never installed? I'm planning on buying 2022 992 4GTS and just wondering is there any downside for what is an essentially free option?

@@roylubetkin5732 We have had no reports of roof issues, rattle's or leaks, granted if the roof is damaged then that is a different story; Thank you for watching!

Looks cool outside. But still inevitably a lot of wind noise inside that drives me crazy.

@agnesf2659 I have recently learned that you can wrap some paracord around the bars in order to reduce the noise of the wind, we hope this helps a small solution to your problem: ua-cam.com/video/arVoHN1KMw4/v-deo.html

I assume the procedures are the same for a bike rack?
