Nice job; they are VERY close to new looking shoes to me....
I like the mahogany color. Those turned out great. Another great project, Steve!!
Every once in a while life gives you a little jewel here a little diamond there, maybe a little lightening in a bottle. You know that rogue onion ring in an order of fries. That’s the way I feel about Steve and this channel. Never disappoints. Love you man!
I think they look better than new. The character and beauty is something ‘new’ does not have.
I love them.
The best thing about your vids: Steve is the cheer you put into them. Thanks for being a patient, talented craftsman.
They're 100% better than they were ! And a great lesson on what will happen if you don't condition, polish and use shoe trees !👍👌❤
They came out so nice!!! More than presentable!! I can't tell you how many times I wander around, and say let's continue to myself since watching you!
Turned out great!! Thank you for showing your process of dyeing the uppers.
Steve, another amazing job! As always, thank you for sharing, I enjoy watching a master craftsman at work.
Yay! my first weekend of the year is a great one now!! Thanks Steve for being you!!
I love how you give in depth instructions as if someone was really gonna try this at home! 😊 I dont think many people will try it but it's great to get all the tips as to how! Thank You, Steve!!
Sanding your bottom's, great social life Steve...😉👍
I love your attitude about your work and it is strongly reflected in your work. Do what you do and do the best you are capable of doing. I like to see that attitude. Thank you
Nice work! I love watching the process.
Beautiful, that mahogany tone is so noble. It tells a whole new story about the shoe. ¡Great work! ❤️🌹❤️🌹
Another great project of Steve 👍👍👍👍
Back in the 60s, we took all our penny loafers (we went to Catholic school) to an Italian cobbler near our home. Last November, I was back home and decided to see if it was still in business. Mr Amelio had long since passed away but his son (who I went to high school with) is now running the shop. He put new heel lifts on a pair of Dexter loafers. Cost only $25 and they look like new. I wish we could go back to the time when people repaired things rather than toss them out.
Learning about dyes and leather has been fascinating! I wondered how the dye didn’t come off while conditioning. I assumed wax polish was what helped dye the shoes. I dye fabric, and I’m glad you explained the process for applying dye to leather. I didn’t know conditioning wasn’t the same thing as polishing. Thanks for the education! 👍🏼
Nice job as always! I noticed your lighting and picture quality looked really good on this video! Thank you for posting these videos!
I have to say that I really love your channel. I have always been interested in leather and cobbler work since a young age.
Lovely work as always Steve, so enjoy watching your videos. Happy New Year to you and your family.😊
Another beautiful repair and complete rejuvenation
Great job, what a difference, looks like new shoes
Great work Steve 👏👏👏👏👏
GREAT JOB AS ALWAYS STEVE!

Sunday afternoon, relaxing. Watching shoes being restored. Zen
Lovely work Steve, as usual. Probably better than new in reality.
Beautiful transformation at a very reasonable price given all the time and effort you put in.
Happy New Year, everyone! Forget the circus. This IS the greatest show on Earth. 🎉🥰👞
They look sharp as a tack! Great job man.
Awesome Job as always Steve.. 😊
Thank you for your videos! I like it very much. You are a truly sincere master! Looking forward for new videos! Good luck!
Mahogany was an excellent choice, perfect restoration, Steve. Oh, I think putting shoe trees is also a good way to maintain your shoes. Happy new year to you and your family!
Nicely done, Stevie!
You can call those shoes Lazarus, because I surely would've laid those to rest. Nice work!
😂👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾Hee-Lari-ous😂😂
Wow, fantastic job as usual!
These look new to me! Well done!
Such skill and a beautiful job.
Happy New Year steve another great vid hopefully next some much extra footage of the hammer!
You are an Artist!!!
great job! they look 100 percent better.
First time seeing shoe overhaul.. restoration 👍
Great video...I need to send you my shoes. Beautiful job!
Hey Steve, I started watching your videos about a year ago and I greatly appreciate your passion for your trade and admire it. You inspired me to search for local cobblers and take my collection of very expensive shoes to get repaired. Today I dropped off my first pair and as I left I hoped the gentleman shares the passion you have and take the time and love in the work just as you do. So all that being said made me want to post a comment to let you know your videos are great and keep up the good work. I look forward to possibly using you in the future for my shoes.
Giovani Soprano 👍👍❤️❤️
Looks great Steve.
Great work...I like the color as well
Great haircut - nice project!
I am spoiled now. When I see what a master does, I don’t want to take my shoes to a local repair shop. It would be great if you could start a school for shoe restorers!
Bedo referred me to a shoe repairer here in Ontario. The shoes had crappy soles of rubber that fell apart after one wear. Uppers were in great shape, nearly new, and he did a fantastic job. This guy said Bedo was pretty much a guru for those who took pride in their work.
This is the school :)
Great job Steve!!!
All the best for a great new year. I had an older gentleman I brought my shoes to much like yourself. You guys are hard to find.
Very nice Steve.....
A lost art in the age of disposability.
Very Nice work.
Beautiful job.
Second time I watched u...love ur work.
I’m amazed at the condition of some of these items when you receive them Steve- especially the designer bags as I’m so careful to protect mine with colonil carbon and to clean and condition them regularly. I even spray my dark jeans to stop them transferring dye on my bags 😬
That job was a bargain, awesome work!
Nice one El Stevo! The man!
Beautiful!
If they were mine I would be extremely happy..! Now let’s continue...👍🏼👍🏼
One of my favorite shoes ever made. Mine were Burgundy...
Nice work as usual 👍👌
That was nice, Steve.
It's fails me why people let shoes like these end up in these conditions
It's great to see people with your skill
Some people just care less
patrick bangura I don’t think they’re all careless. When I see shoes in such bad shape I envision a person who doesn’t have the time or the money to care for their shoes because they are too busy working. And breaking nights studying to get get themselves through law school.
Spend a lot on shoes , it makes sense to take care of them,
Well not all. Sometimes it's called "wear and tear". Sometimes uncontrolled events happen like probably something what they call "accidents". Also, sometimes nature does not agree with man and it sometimes gives us what we call "rain" which contains what we call "water". When its gets in our shoes, it wreaks havoc. It happens you know...
Steve: Excellent video. I always wondered how the uppers were dyed and conditioned. Happy New Year.
It would be great if you could do a video explaining the different dyes and creams one can use. I recently understood the coloring strength difference between Saphir wax, cream and tube dye and teinture francaise which is the strongest.
Happy New Year!
You truly gave those shoes a new life! I love that colour btw.
You always remind me of a sub reddit, "r/BuyItForLife" really good quality shoes can come back to life on the hands of professionals like you!! 👍also happy 2020!!!
Good save on these.
Great video. I don't think there is anything wrong with breaking videos down into sections. It allows you to get more videos posted. Also, you mentioned making sure to to do things to both shoes at the same time. I would be willinh to bet that differences in humidity and barometric pressure come into play when dying and conditioning leathers at different times. I'm no scientist, but it just makes sense that the same leather would react differently to products in different atmospheric conditions. Just something to think about....
Great job
Thank you
Guy was a real light walker. Most of the time at the end the wrinkles are all that's left that give the age away but these ones looked new after a dye.
Great video! Can you take black full quill ostrich boots and strip and redye them brown?
What watch are you wearing in the video? Looks very unique and classy.
Hello, I enjoy your videos and have learned so much. Why do you buff after the dye dried?
'I sand my buttoms' lol
“I can never make these look like new” *proceeds to make them look like new
Bedo: you can never get the shoes to look new, it's impossible to look new.
*Makes the shoes look better than new*
Seriously, you do an amazing job.
HI, STEVE!!! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year! Steve, why didn't you Polish these nice and shiny?! The mahogany looks so much better, but a high shine would've been great. Love your work, Boss!!!
Angela Buteau it’s up to the customer, putting a high shine requires more time and more money.
@@BedosLeatherworksLLC Gotcha. Well, excellent job, regardless! Good to see you!
Hello, I love your work, do you recommend using the fiebing oil dye or regular leather dye for chanel lambskin? Wha do you use to seal the color?
The aerosol can of dye you burnished the toe with, can that be purchased at a store or just ordered? I don't expect a brand. That was so simple with an awesome result. I know you have probably done more of those then you can count. Experience is what I guess I am referring to. Thanks Steve
Amazing like always!! Have you repaired or repainted Red Bottoms? Thanks!
Marz Riv yes plenty of times
To remove salt stains you only need vinegar. All the best, Edgar
I always appreciate for all your shoe restoration videos. So satisfying. Quick question; how can I know the upper is "done" done? Like even if resole, replace the welt, shank and etc, because the upper is totally dead the shoes is unable to recover. Have you ever seen any uppers like that? I know when there are huge holes on them, yeah the shoes are over, but is there other signs that the goodyear welt shoes cannot be recovered at all because of upper's damage?
Bon Ku I’m about month I’m going to upload a video of an “impossible project” it’s exactly what your describing
You sand your bottom?! Well, to each his own, I guess. Just wondering if you follow up with a conditioner and polish. Egads, I don’t even want to ponder the buffing wheel. Shine on, Steve. Shine on.
The Urban Hermit yes I do put creams, dyes or just a conditioner
lets continue
An xlnt vid, Steve!...Could I ask ...does the dye work better straight after the acetone..I notice you didn't condition until after the dye? Also, does rubbing alcohol do the same. job? Thanks, Jm
Boss great
Okay. Given how great that sorry pair of shoes turned out, I will forgive you for no Hammertime, Steve. It should not become a practice, though.
Ok great video what's next
Ստեփան what would you recommend for cordovan dyeing? What's the best polish..wax for a leather like cordovan..I.e. no solvents turpentine etc.?
Is there anything that can be done to restore cracked leather? I have a pair of Dan Post boots that I have used roughly but, other than the cracks, they are in pretty decent shape.
Hi. can you please do a video on how to stain/dye and seal shoes/ sandals with a leather footbed or insole? i.e. gucci web gg sandals with gg leather footbed… i attempted to stain and seal a pair but when i wore them they became tacky and the stain was on the bottom of my feet. Thanks
we got VIDEO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hopped onto youtube with serious intension to look something up only to see a fresh Bedo's video .... annddd I don't regret the decision
Super Job like always, what if you used Filler on the cracks, then sanded, might of looked better? Just saying....
Why use oil based bye over alcohol based dye? Loved the video!
Hi, I would like to ask, do you have any experience with stripping and re-dyeing black shoes to something lighter? I got a great deal on black Barker Newcastles, but thinking about it now, I am not a black shoe guy. Sure I am not gonna get tan, but how about dark brown or burgundy? If possible, what colour dye would you use? I know I could sell them, but I actually crave for some DIY. Btw, I love your channel, you are incredibly skilled but also fun to watch as an entertainer. Thanks
Before you applied the acetone did you sand the shoes first! Enjoy your videos and personal comments
