this guy........owns two of the most exotic and most rare prestigious cars in nissan and jdm history. The dream for so many automotive enthusiasts and he has BOTH a hako and a kenmeri... my hats off to you my good sir :)
Those aren't real GT-R's, real GT-R's would be powered by S20 engines rather than the Nissan L-series variants. The S20 cars would be rare, prestigious, and exotic, but those are only in the real GT-R's, which weren't even common when new.
+djhero0071 Agreed man, i LOVE the exaggerated tail end with the short, high, stubby but. And that front end, with the sunken headlights, blacked out, MESH grill. Getting chills just thinking about it, its amazing! -Kyle
djhero0071 I love them all, but my fav is definitely the hakosuka. I am a huge 510 fan, so that is probably why. love that body style. the kenmeri is bad ass tho, with the fastback.
There are only 197 Kenmeri GTRs made, so they are basically unobtainium unicorns that is on par with European exotics. Non GTT examples should be easier to come by
***** Absolutely not, everyone has favorites, but you really shouldn't write cars off because of their origin either. You limit yourself a lot by sticking solely to cars (and products in general) of only one place. In my my opinion, diversity is what makes the car "scene" interesting.
I've seen him before when I went to a Historic Japanese Car Event at the San Leandro Marina. He brought in 2 other Skylines. When he arrived, as soon as he parked, people gathered around. It was quite the sight.
5 years ago, this very video introduced me to the Petrolicious channel, and I've been subscribed ever since. And now, 5 years later I find myself coming back because of how amazing the video is, second only to the cars featured. With videos like these, I hope this channel can keep growing strong for the next 50 years.
I now have watched all of your videos in one day. I own an old 911 which parks about a 15 minute drive away from my home. Im going to drive there now just to sit in it :) Your videos are truly inspiring. Thank you so much for letting us watch these little works of art for free :)
The only channel where there aren't any arguments, or elitists. Everyone just comes for the car and enjoys the owners stories along with it. Always brings a smile to my face every time I come here :D
I like that he has an omamori dangling from his rear view mirror for that extra Japanese touch. When I first got my drivers license, my mom placed one of those amulets in my glove box for good luck. It's been with me for 40 years.
This reminds me of a time as a child, I had a Tomica (Tomy) Skyline toy car. I loved it, and I remember always looking for a real one....never happened. Great car, great story.
Takes me back to Okinawa Japan 1981-1986 .Hwy 58 street racing . I was stationed at Camp KInser .Street racing was growing very fast and the cars were getting faster .L28 conversions was highly sort after with all these Datsun/Nissan cars that came with 2000cc inline 6 ,L28 were bore and stroked to 3.0-3.2 cc .Good times good too soon .
When I was about 14yrs old approx 1988-89 my Dad had a Small Engineering/Manufacturing Business in Brisbane Australia, a Young guy who worked for him saved up to get his 1st Car, he must have had $500 or less in those days, Not a Heck of alot of cars around for that money, Every Hoon wanted a Holden V8 Monaro or Torana or Ford Falcon, not many paid attention to Japanese Sports cars in my area Back Then!! Anyway one Monday Morning he Rolled up in what we thought was Hilariously Crazy looking P.O.S. at the Time!!What I Now Know to be a Datsun Skyline - as in this Video!! I wish I had a Time Machine to go back & Grab it off him or If Only I had Better Taste or Knowledge of Cars back then, I still to this Day have my Ist Car a Factory V8 Holden HQ, which is Still a Classic, but I'd Swap in a Heartbeat for the Skyline, the Skyline wasn't in Great Shape Cosmetically, & he even gave her a Shockingly Bad 'Rattlecan Red' Paint Job, which even for Rattlecan was Bad, All Stripey Looking, We all joked about it, & was Embarrassed for him to Drive it or be Seen in it!! Can you Believe it!! I Don't Remember it's Fate back then, he might have had it a Year or so, It might have got Wrecked No One Gave a Shit!! - I Guess that's why they are Soo Expensive & Rare Today, As Most Didn't Survive!! I'll Never be able to Afford one now! Side Note: As a kind of Lucky Consolation, I picked up a Rough but Restorable Toyota* 'Corolla KE55 Coupe' *for $100 Scrap fee!!(Some People are Crazy!!) They also have a Lovely 'Sleek Coupé' Look about them, Very Slow & Underpowered, but with the Right Engine Combo, it Could make a Sick Little Drift Special!! There was a Crazy Kid in Tasmania with a 4.0 Lexus V8 Powered Corolla KE70 Drifter-. *See Lloyd Smith Corolla Drift Car*. Crazy is an Understatement - Cheers 👍😉🇦🇺
and thats what automotive enthusiasm should be all about just driving and enjoying the car you love ;) no hard feelings no competition just driving your car and being happy to be able to do so :)
Those two are beautiful, and i love that he knows what its all about. I have had a pretty kick ass audio setup in both of my cars but hardly ever used it...
Wow, great cars! I love the old Skylines! By the way, can anyone please tell me the name of the piano song in the beginning? I just love it, so beautiful like the cars!
Great vid, but a small sidenote, the Hako is not an original GT-R, it's a replica (Street, not comp, as it only has rear fender flares) with a L series engine, probably an L28. You can distinguish them by the S20's black valve cover, which is also quite a bit wider and flatter to house the twin, as opposed to single, camshaft.
hey nice video man. i live in the bay area as well but on the east side. i was just wondering what road is that where these those big trees all around? i would appreciate if you reply since i am a automobile enthusiast and always looking for me roads to ride and enjoy. thanks.
I remember passing through these woods or somewhere similar when I went from East Bay to Muir Beach. Also when I camped somewhere north of San Francisco we passed by that place.
Mike Cid It's actually Tomales Bay State Park. www.google.com/maps/preview#!data=!1m4!1m3!1d175119!2d-122.6808954!3d38.0373156!2m1!1e3!4m21!3m17!1m1!1sOakland%2C+CA%2C+USA!1m5!1sTomales+Bay+State+Park%2C+1208+Pierce+Point+Rd%2C+Inverness%2C+CA+94937!2s0x8085ce31dc42bd55%3A0x7ba0340d34f7e75!3m2!3d38.124368!4d-122.902946!3m8!1m3!1d19108!2d-122.8828742!3d38.1131039!3m2!1i1366!2i666!4f13.1!5m2!13m1!1e1&fid=0i7 I'm not sure if it's the same place as the video but it looks close enough in a rainy day.
I think its sad how everybody has to judge the cars for not being original. who cares if it's running and L series and not an s 20 both of these cars are amazing regardless. When I go to car meets I love seeing peoples re-creations wither it's a tr6 with a supra engine or a cobra with a Cammer or an mg with a e type engine. I think that's what makes us and our cars great along with a creative infusion of personality. We all have differing opinions about what we love. I Have a spot on original tr6 with Strongbergs, and I have thought about throwing on a supercharger or turbocharger with performance cams. Flairing out the wheel arches and putting billboard style tires and going with the whole Bumperless race car but keeping the interior original looking maybe with a race style roll bar though, i know it will hurt its value but i never plan on selling it and thats what i like. I always get rashed on by purists at meets about my ideas and being a young guy with no appreciation, yet when i talk to the SCCA race car drivers they are inspired. I use to be a purist before i owned a classic car but i had an appifini shortly after buying my tr6. I wanted it feel like my own rather then the 11 previous owners who kept it bone original. I love original cars and I love modified cars too I love European cars, German cars American cars, Japanese cars etc. are their other cars that I would love to own one day, yes but i know that I will be happy till the day I die with the car that I own if i never have the opportunity to collect others because it's the right car for myself for right now, and i have a blast every time i jump in it wither it's a trip through the twisties or a stop at the grocery store.
Exactly there are plenty of 'fake' GTR's out there but it doesn't matter people like the look so they will copy it. The price difference of a GTR to base model is something like $200,000. It's not their car so they should appreciate a classic or keep the negativity to themselves
I love your channel. Keep the videos coming. Every true car person should subscribe to this channel. Truely the essence of the cult of cars. Great images and cars. Love the philosophy of the owners you've interviewed too.
of all the cars i covet, these two and the r33 are the top of the list. No fancy shmancy super cars, no heated-seated, leather-clad big-engined luxury cars, just a skyline. A true drivers car. Unadulterated driving bliss in a beautiful classic japanese box. What more could a petrol-head ask for?
Awesome looking cars! I've heard of the Nissan Skyline, but for some reason, they were never sold in the USA, not even as a Datsun. So I've never seen one.

I love these mirrors on the fenders.
+BrakeHorsePower92 They come stock that way 3>
+Aj Rodillo LMFAO ugly ass heart whoops ment to do
Aj Rodillo
I know. :)
The Kenmeri Skyline is possibly one of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen. I can only dream to get a chance to own one some day.

I love them all, but my fav is definitely the hakosuka. I am a huge 510 fan, so that is probably why. love that body style. the kenmeri is bad ass tho, with the fastback.
I agree. I find them more attractive than what's sold today.
There are only 197 Kenmeri GTRs made, so they are basically unobtainium unicorns that is on par with European exotics. Non GTT examples should be easier to come by
I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder but really... As good as these cars must be to drive only a mother could love those strange looks.
Am i an import guy? A muscle car guy? Nope, I'm a car guy.
I got to tweet this!
Moby Dick are you 5 ?
Moby Dick How? Because he likes cars of different origins?
You made my day man :)
***** Absolutely not, everyone has favorites, but you really shouldn't write cars off because of their origin either. You limit yourself a lot by sticking solely to cars (and products in general) of only one place. In my my opinion, diversity is what makes the car "scene" interesting.
this dude has the best car channel on youtube.
They have better content in five minutes than most others have on their entire channels.
I've seen him before when I went to a Historic Japanese Car Event at the San Leandro Marina. He brought in 2 other Skylines. When he arrived, as soon as he parked, people gathered around. It was quite the sight.
haha I was there too
You guys should make pc wallpaper for the cars you film.
+Catch 22 Just screenshot the video ;-)
Yet another great episode featuring great cars. This channel is pure class.

What a lucky kid! Damn, and it's amazing how much he appreciates the classics and treats them like they should
wow, I'm at a loss of words. I have goosebumps seeing these cars driving. amzaing video.

beautiful cars man and the song makes me cried dayum...
Old cars like these you need "Check Engine Ears"
This is the best channel on youtube I have ever had the pleasure of stumbling across. Fucking awesome cars all of them
Sound of these cars is beautiful. Love cars with carbs!
I stopped and stared at a Kenmeri last weekend in Oakland CA. It must've been this car. It was beautiful!
A beautiful film. Thank you for sharing the passion.
The only channel where there aren't any arguments, or elitists. Everyone just comes for the car and enjoys the owners stories along with it. Always brings a smile to my face every time I come here :D
The "muscle" car of Japan :)
No..better,not made for straight line.
all these videos are just simply amazing. Just watched them all.
The 69 Prince Skyline is my favorite classic Japanese car, this one is beautiful.
I like that he has an omamori dangling from his rear view mirror for that extra Japanese touch. When I first got my drivers license, my mom placed one of those amulets in my glove box for good luck. It's been with me for 40 years.
please don't stop making these; your vids are freakin awesome
4:18 it looks so amazing, the way it sits just low enough, With that awesome low rear wing and the aggressive diffuser and rims...phew
Every time I watch something on this channel, I cry.
The 73 skyline is a piece of art. I'd rather have that over any classic mustang or dodge
No chance , 70 Dodge Challenger are very cool looking cars so to are Chargers , and Super Bee's Boss 429 Stang's,Mach1 , Shelby's are badder
This reminds me of a time as a child, I had a Tomica (Tomy) Skyline toy car. I loved it, and I remember always looking for a real one....never happened. Great car, great story.
Skyline... One of my favourite car of all time... I met them for the first time in 2001 thanks to Gran Turismo 2.
Takes me back to Okinawa Japan 1981-1986 .Hwy 58 street racing . A channel for true enthusiasts and car lovers. Thank you.
These 2 cars are literally my dream cars, first saw them in 2005 & wanted on or hopefully both some day haha
I had the KenMary as my first car in the 70s in Australia. It was great. I wish I still had it. Would love another one.
love the mirror placement on these cars. so unique and really sets off the design.
The sound is just amazing.
I love these cars so much.
I had no idea the Nissan has had the GTr brand for so long. Love these videos.

+Gus Moreno When did he say that?
Every video on Petrolicious is incredible. Keep up the good work!!!!
The Legend, and The Desirable. He sure is lucky to have them both.
Excellent production, wonderful cars, my eternal love for the Hako, JDM is life for a car guy

just driving and enjoying the car you love ;)
no hard feelings no competition
just driving your car and being happy to be able to do so :)
What a great video about these great older autos from Japan, also what is the piano song at the beginning?
I like the mirrors on the fenders. I wish we could go back to those to days.
Probably one of my favorite styled cars! Love them so much!
Legendary cars
Not really into imports, but these classic Skyline's were always my favorite!
Those two are beautiful, and i love that he knows what its all about. I have had a pretty kick ass audio setup in both of my cars but hardly ever used it...

I love living in san francisco/bay area. You see so many nice cars on a daily basis.
Wow, great cars! I love the old Skylines! By the way, can anyone please tell me the name of the piano song in the beginning? I just love it, so beautiful like the cars!
Good car and good jacket.
such great looking cars, the proportions are just fantastic! triple carbs too, so they sound just right :)
these are crazy, respect for keeping them alive
I get goosebumps hearing that motor. Just lovely machines mate
I wish I knew what songs they played, especially the classical music in the beginning...
I'm so glad to have found this channel
Bloody awesome channel and the car of my dreams (the Kenmeri). My day has been made
The old skylines getting the respect they deserve, thats i like to see
Great vid, but a small sidenote, the Hako is not an original GT-R, it's a replica (Street, not comp, as it only has rear fender flares) with a L series engine, probably an L28. You can distinguish them by the S20's black valve cover, which is also quite a bit wider and flatter to house the twin, as opposed to single, camshaft.
That white c10 is pure perfection. It would be a dream to own one.
These cars trigger such nostalgia. Gran Turismo, anyone?
Another great vid keep em coming!
2:26 possible sasquatch sighting.
Nice video production, cars and scenery
Awesome cars. I love the Hakosuka
This guy not only has cash, but also good taste. A true car guy that can appreciate how a car drives not only from the spec sheet
Please do an Rx-7 or Wankel motor video!
I totally agree but a standard, unmodified FD3.
hey nice video man. i live in the bay area as well but on the east side. i was just wondering what road is that where these those big trees all around? i would appreciate if you reply since i am a automobile enthusiast and always looking for me roads to ride and enjoy. thanks.

what a symphony those cars make!
The Kenmeri Skyline is my favorite JDM car of all time 😍
I don't think I can express just how envious I am of this guy owning these two awesome cars :)

kenmeri hakosuka and r34 all some of the most beautiful cars ever made
Someone, anyone, please...the opening music with the piano...so beautiful. Who is it? Where did it come from? I need it!
very nice low keyed video. love it!!
I love your channel. Keep the videos coming. Every true car person should subscribe to this channel. Truely the essence of the cult of cars.
Great images and cars. Love the philosophy of the owners you've interviewed too.
Beautiful sound.
of all the cars i covet, these two and the r33 are the top of the list. No fancy shmancy super cars, no heated-seated, leather-clad big-engined luxury cars, just a skyline. A true drivers car. Unadulterated driving bliss in a beautiful classic japanese box. What more could a petrol-head ask for?
Exactly, I really hope it stays this way
I drive a manual, its a huge pain in the ass driving around in SF. but i love SF also. one of the best cities.

Awesome looking cars! I've heard of the Nissan Skyline, but for some reason, they were never sold in the USA, not even as a Datsun. So I've never seen one.
