I just researched your question myself last week. I went with Sonicare- soft brush heads (only.) The new Oral-B brush is very nice, but it's $300. Let me repeat that- $300. I don't need an app to tell me which teeth I missed. A Waterpik in addition to regular flossing might help you. I would (and did) get the WP Aquarius model since it has a "Pik pocket" attachment that let's you clean below the gum line (only use at lowest power setting.) It's cool in that you can add mouthwash to the tank of warm water so it's minty. Biggest tip- make sure you are brushing correctly. Brushing religiously doesn't mean correctly...but maybe you are. I don't know. I also read about something called Nano-HAP in toothpaste- suppose to be as beneficial as flouride but much safer. Also, a good rinse can benefit you too. If you happen to have deep pockets, your ortho can place anti-biotic packets in the gum. If you have a lot of calculus, look into getting a better water filter. Also, rinse after every meal and drink if possible. Maybe they can polish your teeth. If anyone did a lot of scaling and made your teeth rough, that attracts and allows bad things to stick to your teeth including calculus. Good luck!

baking soda will help to cleanse your teeth but it will not whiten since it is not an active ingredient like peroxide. do NOT use lemon juice!! I have seen some terrible cases of tooth erosion from lemons that will wear down almost all your teeth!

Its also just not needed in toothpaste as the significance isnt super large. It can also cause thyroid issues and neurological issues, multiple studies have been done on it but of course this is only in high amounts. I have beenn drinking bottle watered for 5 years fluoride free, could also use filtered water.
Try to avoid foods that stain such as coffee/tea. Regular brushing and try a whitening toothpaste first! You can also try whitening products that you can buy in store/online. If still not satisfied, any dental office will also offer whitening services

really! I have never heard of those products! We recommend Prevident for high caries risk which is 1.1% fluoride. A lot of people are allergic to casein and I can't imagine that it actually prevents caries. Not for me! How do they claim casein will help?
the clinic recommends biotene but I heard it isn't always effective... the best I can recommend is constant hydration and maybe chew some gum to stimulate salivary flow!

I love coconut! will try that out! I do think charcoal will be harmful if you use it longterm... better to stick with what we know works!

It is a calcium and phosphate supplement so I guess it more so improves saliva flow. What do you recommend for xerostomia?
