Love the video! I have this kayak and have done 70+ short trips but never camping. I can’t imagine 7 hours in it, not the most comfortable haha! I know it was hot and the water looks pretty calm, but wearing a PFD is also basic kayak/boat safety, especially because the ORU won’t float on its own if it takes on a bunch of water. Loaded with gear and no float bags it would be pretty crummy if a “what if” did happen.

You made me tired paddling that thing! Besides a kayak that is not the best design for doing longer distances, to a paddle that looks to be a heavier one, to the over exaggerated strokes. You might want to try again with some better equipment and get some tips from experienced jayak campers.
Watching the weather and water levels & all,of course..Do your self a favor...canoe camping,Dan river,early spring.Water is cold,chilly nights & mornings but beautiful!All the animals had their babies following them around,fog over the water in the morning was something else!Before the trees fill in completely,you get to see sooo many things you just paddle/drift past otherwise,that goes for any stretch you float. A whole different experience .& gear..realize this is REI and all,but,less is more some times. Last time I did it, I planned 1 maybe 2 nights.stayed on the river 4 nights and didn’t want to get off but had to get back to it.ugh.

Looks like she did just fine also the more you paddle the stronger you get. Easier and easier every time
