    10:07 I have one notebook, and sectioned it into 3 chapters, if you want to call it that. I used the first 20 pages for 'thoughts/ideas', some pages in the middle of the note book for 'tasks', and the last few ones for 'quotes'. I didn't really want to carry three separate notebooks around, so it really helped me to do it that way. Also, I sticked the little sticky notes onto the first page of every section, so I would have quicker acces to them
    Loved the video by the way ^^

      Try a pocket sized traveller's notebook. Still slim and small but lets you section and compartmentalise better than a single notebook would do.

      How do you setup each section ? Do you label a section by the day and date ? Hope that made sense ?

    • @zoeoe_00
      @zoeoe_00 2 місяці тому +1

      @dantilton2060 depends on the section. In the first section, I just scribble everything everywhere. In the Task-section, I always put a new headline over the tasks, consisting of the date, whether it's a school day or not, and the time I wake up, then write all my tasks for that day underneath. And the quotes section is the same as the first one

      Hey man, how's the notebook been treating you? I started using notes on my phone not too long ago and it really improved my productivity, but it being the phone itself has natural drawbacks. I have an old phone I'm thinking of using to download podcasts/audiobooks, so i don't need to use my actual phone for general day to day music stuff while I'm at work, and honestly never thought of using a physical notebook until this video.
      I'm curious how it's been treating you 🫠

    At a certain time in my life having a notebook was the only way to record/remember things. Although I have been using computers for about 30 years now I struggle to make the adjustment. There are many things to appreciate about technology but I appreciate the fact that you feel the same way I do about writing stuff down and having a notebook. I find it interesting how we have "evolved" and don't require students to physically write anymore. My son barely knows how to sign his name. WEIRD. An idea for how to carry your pen - the Travelers Notebook site has the elastic bands they use around their notebooks for sale. I've seen other videos of people in your situation re: the pen and that's one thing I've seen to resolve that. Place the band around your notebook horizontally, then place the pen on the side between the book and the elastic. Seems to hold them well. I MUCH prefer analog than digital when it comes to taking notes. I was writing notes on random pieces of paper (envelopes, the back of a bank deposit slip, sales tickets, etc.) then they'd stay in my purse awhile until I purged my purse, thus losing whatever was on those notes. Gah! A notebook where anything I write is in one place works much better for me than floating paper and is what initially sold me on Bullet Journals. Now I have journals and notebooks for all kinds of things but a small notebook for my purse is a must!

    There are companies that sell these pen loops that you would be able to attach to your notebook, and they are stretchy so that they would be able to accommodate to various sizes of pens. Or I've seen people sacrifice a page in the notebook and fashion a loop out of tape, I've also clipped the pen in my front pocket and placed the notebook in my back pocket so that way if I need a pen when signing something so that way I dont have to guess if the pen at the register works or not. Thanks for the content :)

    Hey dude! Awesome video!
    I was just thinking that you might like Leuchtturm notebooks. I've been using them for my EDC notebook for years now and love them. I use the hardcover pocket size, with dotted paged - but they've got lots of different options of sizes, colours, cover formats, and internal formats (lined, blank, dotted, etc.). You can get them monogrammed too.
    They're more expensive than lots of other notebooks, but entirely worth it in my experience. High quality paper, good size, good cover, and they also have those ribbon bookmarks that you mentioned you like.
    I work in carpentry and carry my notebook with me every single day while I work, and they stand up really well to the abuse of riding around in work pants with sawdust, dirt, and moisture all day. Would highly recommend!

    I have about 200+ pens. You might really enjoy a Uni-ball Jetstream 0.7mm pen. It is a rollerball pen with ink specifically made to dry quickly, which is good for left-handed users. The ink flows smoother than a cheap ballpoint, and the lines are sharper and faster-drying than a typical gel pen like a Pilot G2.

However, like you if I try to remember to put a reminder or note into my phone, I am lost to the other dopamine hits I can get from the device. I am also time blind, I have no real clue how long some tasks will take me. So, I just plan blocks of time to do things. Like morning routine, and I have done task stacking with these should take me 30 minutes, or 1 hour every other or every 3rd day. Great video! I am a leftie as well, and I use a parker jotter. They are so inexpensive, and the ink never smudges.

    How you just need to work on your penmanship. I started learning Spencerianship years ago and I get compliments everytime someone sees my hand writing. And I think it is beautiful to look at.

    I started journaling less than a month ago, the biggest difference is no distractions from the phone. Several side benefits include penmanship, clearer thinking, and easier to refer back to a thought. So yes I echo many of your ideas. Just an FYI I am 76 years old. But have used computers from the early 70s.

    I really enjoyed your video. Have you tried the Rite in the Rain notebooks? They are really nice. Waterproof, which is handy I guess, but the paper just feels wonderful. They are high quality books and come in a nice variety of sizes and dimensions. I have several different sizes from the 3"x2" up to a 7"x9" and a hardback notebook. They are very sturdy and will take residing in a pocket quite well. Thanks for your beautiful video. I'm subscribing. I found you to be very insightful and I will be listening to more.
