10:07 I have one notebook, and sectioned it into 3 chapters, if you want to call it that. I used the first 20 pages for 'thoughts/ideas', some pages in the middle of the note book for 'tasks', and the last few ones for 'quotes'. I didn't really want to carry three separate notebooks around, so it really helped me to do it that way. Also, I sticked the little sticky notes onto the first page of every section, so I would have quicker acces to them Loved the video by the way ^^
@dantilton2060 depends on the section. In the first section, I just scribble everything everywhere. In the Task-section, I always put a new headline over the tasks, consisting of the date, whether it's a school day or not, and the time I wake up, then write all my tasks for that day underneath. And the quotes section is the same as the first one
I don't usually leave comments on youtube but I HAVE to tell how great your content is and im glad I found your channel. Motivated me so well to use my phone less and now im trying this new notepad thing too for a while, just trying to see how it goes. Thank youuu a lot😇
Hey man, how's the notebook been treating you? I started using notes on my phone not too long ago and it really improved my productivity, but it being the phone itself has natural drawbacks. I have an old phone I'm thinking of using to download podcasts/audiobooks, so i don't need to use my actual phone for general day to day music stuff while I'm at work, and honestly never thought of using a physical notebook until this video. I'm curious how it's been treating you 🫠
I started journaling less than a month ago, the biggest difference is no distractions from the phone. Several side benefits include penmanship, clearer thinking, and easier to refer back to a thought. So yes I echo many of your ideas. Just an FYI I am 76 years old. But have used computers from the early 70s.
When I have a notebook, or even just a folded sheet of paper to write stuff down I actually have the thought at the end of the day when I’m emptying my pockets, “ wait, I wrote something down earlier.” I never have that thought when taking notes on my phone.
You have a good relaxing , easy to listen to voice.... Good points you make about the benefits of a notebook 8:46 ..Looking forward to your EDC Notebook KIT !!
Hey man I just wanted to thank you for your videos you inspired me to start my UA-cam channel and to finally quit social media I only have TikTok but I restricted a time limit to 20 minutes so I can upload and my screen time went down a bunch. Keep making these videos you truly inspiring a generation on young people like us to make something with our lives and get away from the distractions of this world. Keep it up!
So happy that you found using a notebook. The reason it works is, as you know, when you write things down you remember. It just is like that for everyone.
remember seeing you just a few weeks ago with less that 1k subs giving out beautiful information. so glad to see you getting the love you deserve. Keep going brother. You will do big things.
i use a stack of around 40 to 50 index cards with a clip on it for pocket use and get a bigger book for a journal. if something is important during the day ill just put it in the journal when i get home. with the pen i just use the old salesman technique of clipping it to my collar. that way i always know where it is.
An idea for how to carry your pen - the Travelers Notebook site has the elastic bands they use around their notebooks for sale. I've seen other videos of people in your situation re: the pen and that's one thing I've seen to resolve that. Place the band around your notebook horizontally, then place the pen on the side between the book and the elastic. Seems to hold them well. I MUCH prefer analog than digital when it comes to taking notes. I was writing notes on random pieces of paper (envelopes, the back of a bank deposit slip, sales tickets, etc.) then they'd stay in my purse awhile until I purged my purse, thus losing whatever was on those notes. Gah! A notebook where anything I write is in one place works much better for me than floating paper and is what initially sold me on Bullet Journals. Now I have journals and notebooks for all kinds of things but a small notebook for my purse is a must!
Treat yourself and get a Lochby pocket notebook cover (the smaller one that fits the Field Journal you were using). You can fit a pen in the front pocket, it zips up, you can put a few cards in it….an EDC.
@@GoldwithelocsIts not rare anymore. I see left handed people ALL the time everyday. There is nothing special about being left handed. It just is what it is. It is the hand you started using and the one you learned with.
@@Goldwithelocs Its really not. Many people decades ago were forced to write with their right hand even if they preferred the left proving that you can learn it and bypass any trait. Im right handed and taught myself to write left hand when I was in 11th grade. Its nothing special. It just is what it is. Ive never really understood why people romanticize the idea of left handedness.
Lefty’s unite!!! I’ve been using a 64 page soft cover moleskin for quite a while now. I usually divide the book into three sections - To do list, Thoughts/Ideas, Things to remember. I like the thickness of it and how it’s able to fit in my right back pocket. I also carry a left handed bolt action pen from tactile turn. It’s expensive but it’s one and done! Never buying another pen again this writes like a dream.
At a certain time in my life having a notebook was the only way to record/remember things. Although I have been using computers for about 30 years now I struggle to make the adjustment. There are many things to appreciate about technology but I appreciate the fact that you feel the same way I do about writing stuff down and having a notebook. I find it interesting how we have "evolved" and don't require students to physically write anymore. My son barely knows how to sign his name. WEIRD. You're an interesting young man and I enjoyed your content. Thank you!
Stacking habits is a great idea and I am going to start. In one of your other videos you talked about The War of Art briefly and I would like to hear more about it!
Consider researching travelers notebooks. Not only are they super sexy, you can have 3-4 notebook inserts for different categories in one. They have different sizes, but i carry the a7, or, pocket sized (field notes). Having ADHD, i carry mine everyday, it’s my second brain, notion is my third brain. Congrats on unlocking the power of the pen!
I must have watched 30 videos on pocket notebooks today. Your video is head and shoulders above them all. I will be 76 in a couple of weeks and have carried a pocket notebook for half of my adult life. I have a smart phone that I seldom use and never carry. You did an amazingly smooth presentation in the video. Best of luck in the future!😀
been using pocket notebooks since this month started but i didn't know how to organize everything i want in the notebooks so i have separate ones for different fields + added a table of contents in them and # the pages. I have about 200+ pens. You might really enjoy a Uni-ball Jetstream 0.7mm pen. It is a rollerball pen with ink specifically made to dry quickly, which is good for left-handed users. The ink flows smoother than a cheap ballpoint, and the lines are sharper and faster-drying than a typical gel pen like a Pilot G2.

You can get them monogrammed too. They're more expensive than lots of other notebooks, but entirely worth it in my experience. High quality paper, good size, good cover, and they also have those ribbon bookmarks that you mentioned you like. I work in carpentry and carry my notebook with me every single day while I work, and they stand up really well to the abuse of riding around in work pants with sawdust, dirt, and moisture all day. Would highly recommend!
Enjoyed your video. I use a small Muju notebook, they’re inexpensive, handle fountain pens well. Great since they’re slim, when I fill one up, grab another. It’s helped so much and so far it’s mostly just been my monthly and daily to-do lists.
I convinced myself I needed a new iPhone bc of all of the writing I was going to do on notes. I have spend the last months decorating that ¨stoopid¨ phone and doing no writing I used to disregard pocket size notebooks thinking "who needs that?", now I know!
How you just need to work on your penmanship. I started learning Spencerianship years ago and I get compliments everytime someone sees my hand writing. And I think it is beautiful to look at.
The best pens foe lefties. Ballpoint pens Uni Jetstream or Uni Power Tank. Gel Pens Zebra Sarasa Dry or Pentel EnerGel. Rollerball Pilot Multi Ball. They are real good pens even if you are not left handed.

Try a pocket sized traveller's notebook. Still slim and small but lets you section and compartmentalise better than a single notebook would do.
@@laurameszaros9547 Any recommendations? I would like to find one that isn't too bulky but I don't know which one.

The best pens foe lefties. Ballpoint pens Uni Jetstream or Uni Power Tank. Gel Pens Zebra Sarasa Dry or Pentel EnerGel. Rollerball Pilot Multi Ball. They are real good pens even if you are not left handed.
