I've used notebooks since February 2023 and it have helped me getting away from the phone cutting screen time by around 50%! I've recently looked into the idea having 2 in different sizes (one for pocket carry and the other one for a bag) as a dual system.

I got myself a pocket notebook, and Im starting to fill it with quotes, the aim is to carry it everywhere, and substitute the phone. This video was revommended to me, love it
I've also started in october, with the exact same small little full black moleskin 3 sets notebook. And I absolutelly love them as well. Look forward to have a collection of those and can read throught my life while diving into them!!

I absolutely adore the content and the message :] I turned to a pocket notebook just yesterday (I did bujo for quite some time before trying Traveler's Notebook for the last few months) and am really liking the simplicity of it. I just have one note on the video: at times, expecially in the beginning, it felt distractingly fast-paced. I think it could use a little more calm (like doing half as many cuts for example), would really make a great difference. But, still, I liked the video :]
I wish there was a small mechanical pencil, no longer than the spine of the notebook, to keep in that same pocket. Have you come across anything like that?

Imo, pick it back up and start writing in it again, notebook has no sense of time, notebook doesn't judge. But I'm still at the very beginning of my notebook/journal/diary journey so maybe it's just wishful thinking
Hey Austin! In all honesty, Yeah I did use the same title as you because it’s a great title. That being said, I did not attempt to copy your video whatsoever. I saw the title and thumbnail and related to it so much because I’d been doing it as well. So I decided to make my own version before even watching your video. This was my story and my perspective. I believe this message is really important and if we can both reach more people to create awareness about over consumption of technology then does a title really matter? If it does bother you I’d be more than happy to change it. I’m not here to create any drama 😊 just watched your video now and you did an amazing job!

No, there is no way that a pocket notebook can replace your phone. You use your phone very often, for many hours every day, and you only look at your notebook for a while. I know, I'm going through this myself. You can't fool yourself and others that the iPhone will only be used for calls and you can do the rest with your notebook. The notebook does not have navigation, you cannot pay with the notebook in the store and you cannot play music from the notebook. Do not kid yourself
But you can: -plan out your routes ahead of time and actually learn them without relying on GPS (invest in a paper map as a failsafe, and learn how to read it) -- you can write down the directions...in your notebook. -carry small amounts of paper money on your person, to cover smaller scale transactions (like a tea and sammie or whatever) -learn how to find comfort in the quiet (using a notebook might facilitate ease with meditative acts), or use CDs or audio cassettes if you absolutely cannot cope with silence.
Also some of us don't have iPhones and we're doing just fine without em...I've considered seeing if I could just put my sim card in a flip phone and keep on rockin'. Your phone really doesn't need to be a multitool

Try the Pilot Birdie mechanical pencil. It's very small and lightweight but a bit uncomfortable to write with though
