    Little girl hands is right. Couple of years ago after fighting that dang thing for a couple of hours cutting up and cramping my hand until I couldn't grip it anymore, my wife sent our youngest daughter out. I held her out and she had it started for me before I could ask her if she was ready. Nearly teared up.

    It's easier for someone with long arms to reach the ICP from the bottom and with an extension on the socket that's about 6"-8" and then a swivel and about 2'-3' feet more of extensions and a torque wrench get from bottom. If you got short arms then the top is the only way.

      @@mtnsavagenorthwest7409 Thanks for the video. I spent the last ohh two months working and helping to work a early 2003 Ford F-250 6.0 liter Powerstroke turbo diesel. It started out with a code reader and the truck had 11 check engine codes. Then after some repairs 7, then 4, and then 0. But it still would not stay running for longer than two minutes. The guy had a guy with a scan tool diagnose it. The only part that was no good was the FICM was burnt out. The guy that owns the truck had the FICM rebuilt or exchanged and now it runs great. I helped him change a bunch of parts do a coolant flush. He said he put the Striction additive in the oil and seafoam in the diesel fuel.

    • @mtnsavagenorthwest7409
      @mtnsavagenorthwest7409  3 роки тому +2

      Definitely could be ICP related or check your glow plug relay see if your getting correct voltages to glow plugs on a cold start. You could check for oil seepage around your icp and see if it’s leaking or anything if you see any oil around the sensor or connectors then you should replace it or atleast clean it up and see if any improvement on your truck starting. Usually once they get saturated with oil they are toast.
      Hope this helps!

    You have an after-market pre-lube kit installed? Would help on the pre-clatter. If you don't know what it is or does, it's a secondary oil filter in the engine, comes with a smaller oil pump, it pre-oils / pre-lubes, your pistons, so that start up is less stressful on the engine, especially in colder temperatures.
    Curious what grade oil and manufacturer you running in your truck?
    I use 0W-30 Royal Purple synthetic, used to use Mobile 5W-30 synthetic, using the 0W, because of the cold temperature viscosity is a bit better than that of 5W, also Royal Purple is great because of the additives don't raise Hell with the seals and rings. Works good in diesel, gasoline, E-85, and TruFuel system (it's a newer one that allows the use of propane for specialty engines).

    HOW MANY ICP SENSORS DOES THE TRUCK HAVE?

  • @joeyj1489

    Can reach it from the bottom pull the heat shield

    • @mtnsavagenorthwest7409
      @mtnsavagenorthwest7409  Рік тому +1

      Even with the heat shield off most people can’t fit their arm up inbetween the transmission and the Y pipe. But yes I have been able to get the sensor out from the bottom with a long swivel head breaker bar but to try and tighten or loosen the sensor can be difficult for people with big hands or arms to fit under there. Also makes a big difference if the truck is on a lift or not.
      No matter how you get this sensor out it kinda sucks! Bad placement by ford for sure! They planned to pull the whole cab off the truck to replace it. Haha 😂

    Bad icp makes the truck smokes too?

    • @mtnsavagenorthwest7409
      @mtnsavagenorthwest7409  Рік тому +2

      Yes it definitely can! Many different things can make it smoke though. Main symptoms of a bad icp are a rough idle, an oil leak right in front of the transmission, or a dead spot in your acceleration on the freeway at about 60-65 mph the engine will feel like it has no more power and start shaking. But yes smoke can definitely be a symptom of icp issues

      @@MrSuperloco1 no problem! When I’ve had smoke issues in the past it was us usually an injector going out or a dead injector all together. But at that point your truck will definitely be idling bad and misfiring. If it’s constant smoke then it can also mean bad head gaskets. Wish you luck trying to fix it fingers crossed 🤞 it’s something easy

      @@MrSuperloco1 archoil is the best product I have dumped into my truck by far, it will save your injectors. Before I started using archoil I used to burn out atleast one injector every year, I have been using the archoil for the last five years and I haven’t burned up one single injector. It totally works. I would recommend it to anyone. I have an oil change video on my channel that explains it a little more. Thanks

    • @mtnsavagenorthwest7409
      @mtnsavagenorthwest7409  4 роки тому +2

      You hear the truck sucking in air? I would check to see if your air intake box is put in correctly and snapped together first that should be on your drivers side. Where your air filter is. Unless you have a cold air intake on it then it could just be a loud intake or something may be loose.

    Could a bad ICP cause rough idle, loaping, and cause The truck to start building rpm and boost at idle or coming to a stop? My truck randomly started doing it and it started to leak oil front that side. Thought it was trying to run away

    • @mtnsavagenorthwest7409
      @mtnsavagenorthwest7409  2 роки тому +1

      Anything is possible but this sounds like a more involved issue than just an icp but the icp controls your injectors so all kinds of weird stuff can happen when the go out. I would maybe take your truck to a local diesel shop and get a diagnostic ran on it before something bad happens or an accident.

    I have a 06 f350 S.D I'm having oil leaking generally in the same area and rough idle... definitely something I'm going to check out. Stupid question... icp is that same or different from oil pressure sensor?

    • @mtnsavagenorthwest7409
      @mtnsavagenorthwest7409  3 роки тому +2

      Good luck I hope you can get it fixed!
      ICP stands for (injection control Pressure sensor) basically controls and monitors oil pressure going to your injectors. The engine oil pressure sensor or (EOP) sensor is for the engine oil pressure. Two separate sensors. Do a little research on your specific year to find out what all it has. Your truck is a few years newer than mine so do some looking online to see what all yours has. Chances are one of those sensors is the cause of your leak. And since your having the (rough idle) and probably having power loss on the freeway as well I would bet on the ICP being your issue.
      Thanks for watching! Good luck! 👍

      I would verify it's not a problem with the y pipe aligning properly. I had a similar issue and it turned out to be the exhaust clamp behind the turbo. Also it could be anywhere along the pressurized side of the turbo intake as well. Double check that there isn't a hole in the boots. I had a small hole on the inside of the bend oin the boot that is the output boot of the turbo.

      my truck just has one it’s the early style 03 truck. Follow your oil leak up from where you see oil and look for a small metal shield just above front of transmission that will be covering your ICP sensor in the back if you have one. But I highly highly doubt your truck has two of these sensors most likely you have a bad injector or two causing the bad idle and the oil leak could be coming from another source on the back of the block. Hopefully this helps you out let me know if there’s any other questions you have. I also highly recommend using the oil additive called “Archoil” once you get your truck running good it helps your injectors out immensely and will help them work longer and not go bad like the 6.0 injectors love to do.

I would suggest to take your truck in to your local diesel shop they usually don’t charge much to plug your truck into their computer and they can tell you right there if you have injectors that are out of wack or whats going on.
