Wow. Memories!!! Usually set a P2285 when that happens. I can't count high enough how many of these I did. I still have my Snap-On socket specifically for this sensor sitting in my box. I get the sensor from the basement while doing the wiring repair up top. I think someone already mentioned it, but there's supposed to be a shield that goes over the sensor and connector for added heat protection. Those always used to get saturated with oil. Another important 6.0 pigtail part number to remember is 6E7Z-12A690-DA. That's the pigtail for the later model year VGT solenoid connectors that always break the cheesy lock tabs.
Followed your video to fix my truck yesterday. Had a heck of a time removing the electrical connection because the tab was on the back and the space was small. I finally used a coat hanger hook to slip behind it. It came right off. Used then same coat hanger to guide the socket into position with the new part. Putting the new electrical connection on was difficult with the space, but finally lined it up correctly with a long screwdriver through the wires and it popped right on. Thanks for the video.
Just did mine today on my '03....well my nephew did while I watched. Your vid was a big help. Also watched Diesel Tech Ron do one but he did it from below and that way looked too hard. The hardest part is getting the new sensor started in the hole. He finally put a short piece of rubber hose over the end of the new sensor to give something for his big meathooks to hold on to. Had to position match the new pigtail wires as the colors did not match at all.

My 03 did that about a week after I bought it off a guy. Took it to the dealer and they said hfcm and new fuel lines. $3500 I dropped the tank and found the strainer on the pickup line was busted off and pieces in the lines. I replaced the strainer, filters. Blew out the fuel lines and cleaned the hfcm. Hello have a question not really related to this video but more to diagnostics on 6.7. If vehicle is scanned with IDS with no codes present and no issues. Is it possible to tell condition of EGR cooler DPF filter and other costly items to get ahead a a pending failure or issue.
Well if you would have seen the video you would have found your answer 😉 6E7Z-12A690-DA here you go just like many other citizens like to be handed things.
Look at both connectors and just cut and splice one wire at a time. Just have to make sure that you splice the correct wire in relation to where they are pinned into the connector. If that makes any sense. It does in my head anyway 😂

How do you get the plug of right in front of it??
A swing tab..
Do you need to disconnect the batteries?
Absolutely not
You're better off if you do. Or use fender protectors/towels that way you don't run a risk of arcing with your tools.
Mine says 12 03 but the sensor is on the valve cover what's up with that
If u wanna get down on diagnosis your gonna have to visit my PayPal or Venmo, sorry fokes
Hello have a question not really related to this video but more to diagnostics on 6.7. If vehicle is scanned with IDS with no codes present and no issues. Is it possible to tell condition of EGR cooler DPF filter and other costly items to get ahead a a pending failure or issue.
Ehhhhh possibly. U cld watch all the data & see if its middle of the road or about too....
Is there any info out there as to what is supoee to be normal as far as back pressure egr temp dpf soot load for a engine with a giving mileage .
No not really. Ford has reference values to compare to
Did you get the connector from the ford dealer as well, if you did what’s the part number
....did u not watch the video......
Well if you would have seen the video you would have found your answer 😉 6E7Z-12A690-DA here you go just like many other citizens like to be handed things.
Does it tell u which wire goes to . It looked different colors
No, u match up each wire 1 at a time. Its only 3..
@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod it dont matter which is which then. To me they looked different colors, thats y i asked
Mike, follow the video, i show u everything..............
Look at both connectors and just cut and splice one wire at a time. Just have to make sure that you splice the correct wire in relation to where they are pinned into the connector. If that makes any sense. It does in my head anyway 😂
Are we just going to ignore that flat coolant line?
Now what's ur deal......?
Mine is not leaking but getting the harness off is a nightmare, I can't even get my hand in there.
Remove dat intake stud bolt
