- Hi Guys, in my latest Video we take a trip to the auction to pick up this Kia rio which I have bought out of the auction with no keys. We also take a quick look around the auction and try to bid on some cars before having a walk round and test drive of the car.

What a result finding all the history and V5 in the glove compartment. Game changer.👍
Yes pleased
Omg that ignition 😂 this is brilliant! Great bargain
Really enjoyable video, happy days with the log book etc..
Looking forward to seeing the finished article 😊
Lee, this is a fantastic channel. Keeps getting better and better.Your encyclopedia knowledge, personality, content and quick witted high energy buzz gives a fantastic window into the day to day of the motor trade, highs and lows, wins and losses. I don't think there's another channel out there that does this sort of thing as well as you do. Keep going bud, it's great entertainment and education! All the best from Yorkshire 👍👍
many thanks david very kind of you to say, great to hear feedback like this as it helps me improve the content
Always a pleasure watching your videos Lee. Learn so much about motors and what to look out for.
Thanks 👍
Another good sensible no nonsense video - keep it up!
Thanks, will do!
Key-Yah! Nice purchase, looks like a decent car!
Nice littel buy that i think , ill watch the progress video , as always good luck Lee👍
Great buy Lee buddy 👏🏻👏🏻 Will be interested to see the follow up video to see what u need to actually replace on the ignition system...£1,995 it won't be around long and a very nice profit 4 u hopefully m8...👏🏻👏🏻 Top man Lee and keep these videos coming!!!...👍🏻💪🏻😍
What a cracking bargain. Looking forward to seeing your next video 👍🏾
thanks
what a result when you opened the glovebox!!
You lucked out with the history and the logbook there. Nice little car that.
Well that was fun!
Lolly pop stick instead key & key tag, lovely.... that's a first !!! Never been passed a lolly pop stick by the block !!!! Oh its a 10 10, great buy, it's £1999 easily !! Sold something similar a Strike Rio in Silver 68k 09 09 last month, that was over £2k by a hundred or two
After having the ' pleasure ' of a Megane with their abysmal electric windows I'd quite happily never see an electric window again ! As for the map , that's a Phillips Streetfinder . Got loads of those still in my truck , must be an age thing , still sometimes find them easier then satnav . Great video mate
Thanks Roger 👍👍
Very shrewd lee. Nice cheap buy
This looks to be a very clean example for its age.
I’m never been a Kia fan, however my friend has a 2015 Kia Sportage, and she loves it.
Yes them later sportage's are a realy decent quality vehicle
Clean motor hopefully a good profit mate
@17:57 You can be as greedy as you want but in the end if you ask too much you might deter some folks. 😊
Double your money after fixing it up is not to be sniffed at. Cracking daily runabout. Thanks for the upload.
No problem 👍
Result finding the paperwork👍🏻
Yes pleased with that 👍👍
Lovely looking Kia that Lee and at a bargain price. Great that it unexpectedly came with all that documentation and v5 too. Stay well 👌🏻
Thanks 👍
Amazing Kia bargain for what you got I have always been nervous of buying vehicles at auction especially without a log book as the police advise against this also The Kia Rio 2 actually went up to at least a 13 plate
Cracking video 📹 👌
Long way from its original home in Tayside. Not bad looking apart from the bird prints on the bonnet.
❤ this channel
thanks 👍👍
That's a right old bargain you got their. Watching your videos makes me want to try buying at a Auction but can be a bit risky haha
thanks Tony 👍
I bought my first car from an suction that had a key but mysteriously went missing when i collected the car. It also had a dismantled engine. I put in another used engine then had to tow it to renault dealers to get the new key and programmed. Luckily the car started after the key was arranged at the dealer and i drove it home
**LEE IS A LEGEND** **CRACKING CHANNEL - FOLLOWED FROM THE VERY FIRST VIDEO** **ROCK ON** only complaint - the wait between videos 🤣
Many thanks and I will send you the money later 😁😁👍
looks like a real win there Lee. makes me wonder though who the seller was, maybe an insurance company or the Police Pension Fund???
👍👍
Whoa Lee, what a result with V5 and history! 😊
Hot wired ignition eh? Anyone would think it was a hot 80s/90s Ford! Lol 😂
Hope the Rio does you proud, profit-wise 🫰👍
many thanks yes, very pleased with the purchase
Looks a straight old car for the money looks like you will take a decent drink out of it great job
👌👌
You did fantastic on that Kia, looks in great shape! Nice job.
yes had a good old week on the purchase front, had two others today out the auction all driving well
@@carukchannel Sweet, not often it comes around there's decent deal.
I bet your mate who's handy with the locks was very popular around the housing estates 😂 Taking Vauxhall Nova's for a "vigorous test drive" while the owner slept soundly in their beds 😅
The old hazard switch ignition
Hi lee it's John, these rios seem to be quite reliable unit's
Shame about the absence of AC.Could be a potential profit in this one.
Thanks john
Yes he did enjoy stealing a nova or any older ford which you could get into with any ford key 😁
@@carukchannel for the benefit of the tape I didn't say steal 😜 At least he had a key of some description rather than the old coat hanger and metal spoon trick 😄 Someone nicked my late Father's Reliant Robin years ago... Don't know why anyone would want to knick that, was a miracle it worked let alone was any joy to ride
Letchworth have got a nice 08 Maserati Gran Tourismo for you next Tuesday night Lee! Treat yourself.
I am buying one soon but would like one a little newer, I will do a video on my car in the coming weeks
Loving the channel Lee, can you help me understand the prices. Aston Barclay, when the final price comes in is it hammer, plus auction fees plus 20% fot VAT. Trying to understand.
You could probably do a video purely on this.
Keep up the good work!
They are set fees on top which is dependant on the account holder and rate card they are on. Typically at this auction a trader would be pay £160 on top of the sale price on a £1k hammer price
That would definitely sell for 2k. I'm working next to a guy that's looking in that price range... not rich pickings for him. Hope you've got no bad surprises.... looking forward to the follow up👍
thanks
Fully agree about the first Kia Rio's, they were absolute 💩. You've had a real result with this one, the fact that it's bobby basic wouldn't put me off, in fact it would tempt me more, less to go wrong and cheap to run.
Thanks graemew
Good result finding the V5 and book pack in the glovebox. Missing docs and keys would put a lot of people off, so hopefully that kept the auction price low. Should be a nice margin in this one.
Lee is that KIA a keyless entry 😃😃. That looks a beauty. Surely there must be money in this one for you 🙏🙏
yes should be a nice earner gary 👍👍thanks for watching bud
"Bastard birds" LOL.
😁👌
Great vid, coincidentally I just brought a car and the steering is also off centre and the passenger front tyre is going bold on the outside. I’m assuming this is signs of needing tracking as well.
Also I did buy a car from copart with no log book and took nearly two months to get a new log book and the car was ready for sale within a few weeks, so had the car just Sitting on my drive way for weeks, a real hassle. Will never buy a car without log book again!!!
yes bud sounds like tracking to me
Bet was £200-£300. I too bought a £200 non-runner rival auction and that 'ran' - not a million miles from no keys shown running !!!!
Say no more about the ignition repair fellow😂😂
he been look at it today he said he can fix it no issue 🤣
That looks clean for the age.FairPlay Lee
thanks Irish dog, enjoy the weekend and thanks for watching
@@carukchannel Lee am struggling to source stock from the local bca auctions in the west-midlands any suggestions price from 1-3 k stock ?
A guy that was good at taking cars - Poacher turned Gamekeeper!
thats the one 👍🤣
Nowt wrong with keep fit windows, no electric motor problems.i once paid £230 for a skoda fabia window motor,so wish I'd have had windys.should make a great little family runaround.
Put some speedlines Recaros and a peco exhaust and it’s the Kio RS Lightweight racing model 🤣
Yes them skoda fabia's and window regs were common
What you lot in the comments and watching don’t realise is when your a sole trader doing ya best putting in effort and miles and dealing with idiots and awkward customers or stock that won’t sell you need a Bobby dazzler gift from the gods.
That cars got profit all over it and with minimal effort there’s a nice little earner maa saaan in it
thanks chief well said 👍
Decent cars, though hard to believe a 10 plate car doesn’t come with electric windows, no matter it being the base model.
I have tried to win Kia Rio’s a few times but they go for silly money.
wind-down windows but still manages to have a dot matrix (rather than segmented) radio display lol
Hi Lee. Sorry im in a Rush but thats a nice Car. Chat laters 😊
Thanks 👍
Lol so funny
I used to buy dvla seizures with no keys, used to meet the key guy at the auction, 100 quid a time, so sometimes 600 quid, probably 3 were kn***ked, if they weren't taxed good chance it had a nasty fault, came very cheap tho.
Joined the club thats what i did for years but alot of shitters dont start or need scrapping 😔
@@flippingcarsrepairs yes bud, most were terrible, the key guy wouldn't say what they were like until you paid him, ha ha
I'm thinking of starting to bid on auctions in the US. I have no experience with it. I know the conditions here are different, but any advice would be helpful! I'm thinking of starting to bid on cars that are "vandalized". Most of them are stolen, they don't have keys, but I think this is easy to fix. Most of these are Kia and Hyundai . Another thing I know is that a car that is outwardly without damage, most likely has engine damage.
I have no experience in the US car world or auctions there, but I know the value of vehicles 2nd hand is very high compared to the UK. I would be looking at cars without keys maybe or broken locks ignitions etc. Find a good key man who can code you new keys and supply them. Good luck with your venture and thanks for watching the channel
Great content and very informative, I wish I lived more locally I would be your best customer. I can't understand anyone who buys a car on line and has it delivered without a test drive, what's that about??
Thanks bud, have a great weekend
Can you do a walk around on your maserati please Lee
yes going to do a video on it this month mancave
Repo cars usually don't have keys.
Dropped on with this Kia, Kia's have grown on me but Rio's do look.dated , but who cares for a cheap run about. Sure you will make a few £ with it Lee.
Thanks jeremy yes I it should go easy even with no bells and whistles
They bloody peageut, aygo and citroens always get lacquer peel on them 🤔🤔🤔
Wouldn't make myself any money as a car dealer .Got the price wrong on this I guessed £1595 so a bit out . I was spot on with the zafira in a previous video thou 😊
Can you apply for a V5 online and if so does it come back quicker? 👍Mrs brought a car recently and dealer did change of ownership on-line and V5 came back in about a week 😊
if its lost then No, if its in your name and lost then its easy, takes less than a week.
There's nothing wrong with kia and hyundai, reliable bread and butter transport
Agree
any chance you can do a buyers guide on the maserati? im thinking they must be insanely good value for what they offer if you drive one for your personal smoker
Yes I am going to film it in the coming weeks, I have had it 4 years and worked on it personally so can give a fair assessment of it
Ask mat armstrong what he thinks of the cheap build quality of a masser 😂😂😂
@@flippingcarsrepairs i dont know who he is but now i can look forward to the car uk review😀
Im still in need of a cheap car if you do have anythhing for a grand as the problem i have is i got ripped off , put new coil springs and shocks on my old Mitsubishi but the whole front end is still knocking and feels loose car is on 130 thousand miles now so i do need to find another car if you deliver down south will pay delivery cost cheers.
hi christine i have nothing around 1k currently, i have been struggling to find any cars sub 1500 recently.
@@carukchannel Thank you 🙏 for letting me know if you get anything £1000 to £1500 please let me know as sadly theres nothing here near London 😭
Looks like a bargain Lee , did you know the fella was a criminal when you employed him?!
Yes, in fairness he worked for me for over 9 years. His vehicle taking days were in his younger days but they never forget 😁
Kia like so many cars these days do the job...but boy do they look boring
Yep Again.....my sort of car that
👍👍
Absolute bargain this!
thanks Phil
Hi Lee I have a 2011 Kia Rio it's not a bad car but it's going through fuel like no one's business. There are no obvious leaks but any obvious things that it could be? Feeling may have to get rid as costing a fortune to run
Should be doing around 40mpg maybe 35 in town driving stop start, is it the same shape as this running a 1.4 or is it the next model with the 1.2 engine ? they can suffer with timing chains stretching which cause poor performance and fuel economy
@@carukchannel it's the 1.4 Lee. Is timing belt an expensive job? Cheers Chris
@@user-vo4ft8rj4g 1.4 is not the engine that suffers with chain issues, its belt driven. what sort of mpg or return are you getting ?
@@carukchannel I reckon about 25 mpg. Mileometer says I'm doing between 10- 14 miles for a 6 mile journey. Cars does feel very sluggish
FYI my 1.4 petrol g4ee Rio 2 gets 36mpg. Motorway and in town driving.
Do you ever look under the cars ?
yes
They don't need keys.
Kia,the car you never promised yourself😂,ive only ever had one, typical car from these people desperately nasty underneath, but the blue rinse love em because they cant buy a lada riva any.more
Where do you sell ?
Cheshire only ?
Yes my new site is in crewe cheshire but I have not moved in yet, 4th August is my start date. I will be doing a video walk round when we move in and giving all the details of the new businesses name, stock and location
@@carukchannel good man .
Thanks
love your videos
many thanks 👍👍
Kia key? Ah…
Ex Sottish car mate a long way from home lol
BCA drag down Scottish cars ( AC ) and N.IRE, usually Belfast cars, by WBAC, makes zero sense me but must make financial sense , they move them physically to Manchester BCA
