Donny Osmand's backing dance cameo is great, apparently he listened to the demo and turned up to the studio with his moves already worked out 😆
There's a good chance she has no idea who Donny is. Would make for some fun reactions :).
Donny Osmond... From (easily) one of the *whitest* TV families of all time; next to the Cunningham's and the Brady's.
@@MarkMcLT I've watched about two dozen reactions to this song and only one or two of the reactors recognized Donny Osmond. I think if you're under 45, you most likely don't know who Donny Osmond is.
@@MarkMcLT Lol, ("One Bad Apple"
don't Spoil the whole bunch, girl
Oh, give it one more try
Before you give up on love) - Remember the old days, Osmonds vs Jacksons! I always liked the Jacksons best, but the Osmonds wasn't a joke back then.

Weird Al is very quietly one of the greatest musicians of our time, and I will die on that hill. He may not be writing everything, but his ability to replicate an artist's sound (he does plenty of "pastiches" or style parodies as well) is unmatched. And he has so far one of the longest music careers in the modern era(since 1984).
You will not die alone. It’s parody at the highest level. Musicians love him and the people love him. Time to get him into the Music Hall of Fame.
Try '79.
And he's a genuinely nice dude who's worst scandal was Coolio having beef.
He is definitely one of the most talented. To be able to perform in so many different genres legitimately.
Dude, if you want help, I'll die on that hill with you! Amen
This man should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
He will be.
Forreal!!!
He's already on the Walk of Fame.
Its only a matter of time
They should make a Polka hall of fame exclusively for him.
The man acting the fool as the background dancer was Donny Osmond. A contemporary of Michael Jackson. Early 70's was the time of family bands. Jackson 5 and The Osmonds were in direct competition.
Donny Osmond with a reputation for being white and nerdy.
If you "get" the tech references of this era, you should check out All About the Pentiums. Still one of my favorite Al songs even though everything he mentions is old and dated now.
Seconded!
"Got me a 100 GB of RAM."
Still excessive but hardly unheard of now. Updated lyrics would say 100 TB
"You think your Commodore 64 ...is really neat-o ! What kinda chip you got in there...A DORITO?!" 😂😂 (The first time I heard that line, I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe lol)
It's all about the pentiums is a another classic from that era from Al
Honestly, my favorite visual gag is that Key & Peele locke the doors IN A CONVERTIBLE WITH THE TOP DOWN. Gets me every single time.
The best thing about "White and Nerdy" is that even though Al is doing a parody of "Riding Dirty", the only person he's making fun of is himself. And that's the beauty of it.
Naa, this is the ultimate tribute to nerds which happens to include Weird Al 🤓😂
@@deed5811 It's sort of the same formula as Amish Paradise. A white guy taking something that's the height of black people being cool and then turning it into something about white people being uncool. Jonathan Coulton tried something similar with his genre-switching cover of Baby Got Back and even described it as another case of a white guy ruining a great black guy song.
And maybe Donny Osmand, who obviously volunteered himself to be "white and nerdy" with him. 😂
Back in the day, around 1994, the Star Wars Holiday special was VERY hard to find. It was never released on VHS, so you had to rely on bootleg copies that you could only find at random comic book or toy shows and you had to buy it under the table. That's what makes his reference in this song to it so funny and brilliant.
I bought one for my husband for Christmas. Omg! My connection was through a friend at Cal Tech and the guy I bought it from acted like I was buying state secrets. And did the wrapped in paper thing meeting in an alley.
🙄😆
Dude, I work in development for a network and book for a club, the amount of people slipping me video tapes on a daily basis and you are acting crazy.
Another little funny Fitbit about the holiday special is the fact that Carrie Fisher was drunk as a skunk through the entire thing
People also say this was the worst Star Wars movie to exist, I never seen it❕❗
@@PurpleCinnamon-Land-Of-Misfits If you don't mind giving him the view, the Nostalgia Critic did a review of it which should tell you everything you need to know back before his reviews jumped the shark and he revealed himself to be a toxic employer.
Favorite part is Donny Osmund in the back being his wingman dancing. 😂 too funny
Isn't that the "hype man" that Donny Osmund was doing? Still fantastic!
i don't think Al gets enough credit for his rap skills.
You may already know this, but the VHS Star Wars video that Al bought was an old Star Wars Christmas video that was so bad everyone tried to erase that it ever happened. It is near impossible to find a copy on VHS. That was why he was so excited to buy it in the alley.
I always enjoy Weird Al. I got a kick out of Donny Osmond dancing in the video.
Gotta love Seth Green in there too with his action figure collection! 🤣
Drew Carey was a great hype man in the "All About the Pentiums" video, but I think Donny might have surpassed him lol
Comedy duo is Key and Peele and yes, this is Chamillionaire. Awesome reaction, btw 😀
1986, yup back in the day
He is still performing with the same bandmates from the very beginning in the early 80s. I saw him on his most recent tour last year doing only originals (no direct parodies). It was amazing.
You will definitely enjoy watching "Tacky", Weird Al's parody of Pharrell's song "Happy". It's remarkable for (a) the number of celebrity cameos; and (b) it was shot in one continuous take.
I love that he has Donny Osmond in this video. LOL Nerd Legend.
When you sat back to educate people on MySpace… that was hilarious. You are absolutely in my very small group of favorite reactors.
"RIP to Blockbuster" had me laughing out loud. Ha ha ha!
I chuckled, then thought hey do not RIP just yet, there is still a Blockbuster in Bend Oregon.
I love Weird Al, he is a genius
I've been touring with musical artists for over a decade, and any time people talk about the best bands in the industry, people bring up Weird Al's band. If you see him live, you're going to see one of the best touring live bands around.
Chamillionaire freaking loved the song. he put it on his website the moment it was put out.
I've never bothered to watch the video of this song before, it's hilarious Donny Osmond made an appearance.
My favorite story about White and Nerdy is that Chamillionaire loved it so much (or made a promotion deal) that it was what played if you visited HIS MySpace page for weeks after it came out.
And yes, I'm old enough and nerdy enough to have first-hand knowledge of this.
Seth Green and Donnie Osmand make this video for me!
Did you notice the guy dancing in the background? It's Donny Osmond. LOL Al is kind of portraying Vanilla Ice.
Key and Peele, and yes the original was Chamillionaire. Surge protectors.
If you like Weird Al rapping, he did an AMAZING job in Epic Rap Battles of History's "Bill Nye vs Issac Newton". 😏
What Weird Al does here is not just make fun of Nerds but also of the Hip Hop community, but he does so in a non-judgemental way and with a LEGIT rapping capability. He basically goes "Be honest you guys, there has to be a funny side to Gangsta rap."
And more and more rappers, recognizing Weird Al's capabilities as a rapper, are going "Yeah, you're right, there IS a funny side to it all."
Weird Al OWNS this art form. Nobody even tries.
The sad part is nobody ever recognizes Seth green participating in this song..
Fun fact: when he is in the alley buying the Star Wars Holiday Special video, it's because the only way to own a copy is to get a bootleg version of it.
Ooohhh!!!
@@brittreacts Yeah, it was so bad, that it only aired once and after that, George Lucas has tried to destroy every copy there was. You can find it floating around on UA-cam and other sites.
The minesweeper reference in this song always stings a bit. :)
I actually saw him in concert once (the local mall was a client, and the marketing director got free tickets). He is shockingly good live.
I saw him live at the Erie County Fairground when I was 12. He did Like a Surgeon wearing scrubs and surgical gear, and even did the sexual Madonna dance, rolling around and stroking himself, while (male) backup dancers wore cone bras. It was... something else.
@@dinaghikas7933 Erie, PA? I'm in Scranton lol.
@@dinaghikas7933 I think the word is...Weird
@@Ocrilatwestern New York.
Enjoying your Al reactions. He has the single most underrated band in history. Can play any genre. Enjoy discovering more.
when weird Al does a remake of a song it's considered a privilege by the artist
And before Myspace we had the _speed dial_ list on our landline phones which we used to rank our friends and family
the best part visually in this video is Donny Osmonds white man dancing
Now u must check out his cover of P-Diddy's "It's All About The Benjamins." It's called "It's All About The Pentiums."
Weird Al has also written originals. My favorite is Hardware Store. It really shows off his rapping skills I think. I love all your reactions always fun and genuine. ☺
His real genius is in his style parodies. First World Problems, Mission Statement, Traffic Jam, Dare to Be Stupid, Close But No Cigar, and my all-time favorite Jackson Park Express.
And "Bob." Can't forget "Bob."
And Germs.
All about the pentiums is puff daddy All about the Benjamin’s
He's fluent in javascript *and* klingon?
Qa'pla, brother.
Qa'pla.
Key & Peele? I think this was before they hit it real big, because they're awful Young in the video
they didn't even have the show yet if Iirc
They were pretty well-known at that point from Mad TV, but it was before their own show.
Chamillionaire LOVED this and has complimented Al's rapping
As a kid my first LP was "Wierd Al in 3D". Uncle Paul, my surfer uncle won it on a radio call-in.
Hey Britt! I think you'd really like Word Crimes by Weird Al. It's all about how bad everyone's grammar is now, especially in social media.
Locking the door on a convertible that has its top down !! The comedians: Key and Peele - Very funny guys !
Well done. Sorry I am a year or so too late. You know what the hell you are talking about….VERY Impressive. Much love
Have you done his original non-parody non-tribute rap called The Hardware Store?
Another fun video by Weird Al with some nice cameos, Donny Osmond, and Key & Peele.
I love Donny Osmond having fun in the background..
Trolls were definitely a thing in MySpace times, and way earlier. I can remember some trolls from Newsgroups as early as '93.
You should check out a really long song he does stuck in a Drive-Thru hilarious song
Donny Osmond is his background dancer, that cracked me up.
Like Donny Osmond? Check out the green screen version of White & Nerdy.
Weird Al is a national treasure.
Ironically enough Chamillionaire posted the White and Nerdy music video on his MySpace page.
Keegan Michael Key and Jordan Peele are the guys in the car, at the beginning of the video.
I’m trollin again 😂but you were right it was chamillionaire👌
All that stuff considered nerdy at the time is considered cool now LOL
This was my favorite. LOVE me some Weird Al.
My favorite is "Foil" his parody of the song "Royal".
The funny thing is you got all the jokes..... nerd :P
Chamillionaire.
And the guys are Key and Peele ;)
It really busts me up to see Donny Osmond dancing in the background I used to throw so many darts at his posters back in the early '70s My sister loved him
Aight, you showed off a little "older school" cred, but you still didn't recognize Donny Osmond! 🤣
Almost nobody these days gets the "lightsaber kid" reference. ;-)
The guys in the beginning locking their doors are Key &Peele
Love your reactions and insight. You're so much fun to watch. Also, hurray for same name.
My favorite part of al in general is it's often said "if he makes a song about you then you've made it."
Ok, this is the reaction that showed me that you can flow, and do dat code for dem all
But did you catch on to the guy dancing behind him? Donny Osmund.
Others to check out! Eat it. Fat. Like a Surgeon.
Weird Al should not be underestimated.
Try 'All about the Pentiums'.
What a great reaction- you are quite the comedian yourself! Subbed!!
Another great parody in Tacky or an original from him is One More Minute.
It's a crime to music that wierd al ain't in the hall of fame
He partnered with Wheezer to do a cover of Africa by Toto. He actually does non-parody stuff as well, during his concerts he'll do some normal covers. If you really want to turn red laughing, I recommend his song, 'One More Minute' and 'You Don't Love Me Anymore.'
You HAVE to do “Trapped in the Drive Thru” by Weird Al
Donny Osmond kills it in the video....😂
she remembers the before times when the internet was fun, and chatrooms were king with our own home pages. I am not crazy that internet really existed. LOL
ône of my favorite artists EVER!
Chamillionaire loved this when he heard it.
Britt, you are gorgeous and your laughter is contagious! The extension cord was just a cheap surge protector. My Space was Facebook lite 🤣 😎👍 You have a wonderful voice too! Keep on rocking this glorious dude! ❤ 🤗 Love and hugs from Oklahoma!
Yeah, this was back when you still had to have a college student e-mail address in order to make a Facebook account (or maybe right after it opened up?) so a lot of people were still using MySpace.
I remember when Weird Al came to the radio airwaves in the early 80's doing covers of top hits with his own lyrics. A truly talented musician and comedian.
Found Weird Al through the Dr Demento show. Great times.
They locked the doors....and they are in a CONVERTIBLE... LOLLLLLLLLL!!!!!
❤
Need to check out Eat it and Fat
Girl... Those pause. 😂
Weird Al is incredibly talented, he pulls it off every time
I love Donnie Osmond dancing with Al. Donnie was HUGE through the 70's and he became a running joke through the 80's. He was the biggest name in music for a time.
I seriously believe that Weird Al Yankovic would DESTROY Eminem in a rap battle, I really do. Make it happen.
It’s parodying The song Is called Ridin’ by Chamillionaire! The two guys in the car are the well known comedians and one of of them is a director of 3 well known horror films Get Out! Us! And Nope!!! Director Jordan Peele and comedian Key! Just a little FYI!!!
uh... that is not "irony" (them locking the doors of their car). Please check out Wierd Al Yankovic "Word Crimes" lolz
Also for context - Wierd Al will parody a song anywhere from 1 to 5 years after it becomes a pop chart hit.
They say that if Wierd Al makes a parody of your song, that's one way to tell "You've made it!" and is considered by most (not everyone) an honor for him to do so.
So, in this case: "Ridin'" (Chamillionaire, 2005) --> "White & Nerdy" (Wierd Al Yankovic, Sep 2006)
I have loved Wierd Al since before the days of the internet when mainstream ways to listen to any music were cassette tapes & radio. Yes, He's been doing this since the 80s. I even owned a couple of his tapes.
It's so awesome how he has affected 6 generations and you younger gens are finally getting to listen to his genius-level mastery of musical parody, now.
He's NOT in a Blockbuster. He is most likely in a music store, like maybe Tower Records or something equivalent.
I'm always surprised that no one, AND I DO MEAN NO ONE!!, reacts to Donny Osmond dancing in the background. That, for me, is the best part having grown up with The Osmonds and "The Donny & Marie Show". Why does no one seem to recognize him?
Key and Peele.... Al is the king of parody, period. He's the best.....
With MySpace, you HAD to code, if you wanted your page to look good. Sure, you had your personal interface, where you got news, information & messages, but you also had your external interface to the world, which was a fully customizable web page. There were TWO MySpace Tom's in those days. You had Tom Anderson, aka. Mr. Anderson, aka. The Architect of MySpace. You also had Tom the creator of Tom's MySpace Editor. If you weren't good at coding, his webpage ha could create a homepage for you.
