Key to any role is empathy; a performance can become cartoonish anytime an actor chooses to depict their perspective of a character, rather than the character's perspective of itself. Yes. Love how he accepts new information which shapes his world view. What is the point of that? If he was gonna do that he may as well not have gone. He wanted to make it clear he was out and he wasn't coming back. Otherwise Cam and his people would keep bothering him wondering when he's gonna get back into the life.
I would have done the opposite. Cam is a coward, a fat scared old man. I would have gone in and slammed him against the wall and made sure he understood that he's not in a position to do anything except beg for forgiveness. He isn't owed any respect or courtesy. I would basically bully him and punk him out and make him feel like a bitch.
"I don't feel funny, cam"
....He thinks the joint messed with your mind
"It did"
I think Cam knew right then and there - Derek couldn't be manipulated any more by him.
best acting performance ever
I like after the kick..he checks his work!! 😂😂😂
I always wished there was a follow up movie or at least i wish this movie was an hour longer
Norton an all time great.
My favorite line is
"You fucking ChickenHawk"
Excuse me???
Damn Norton was a hell of an actor in the 90's/earl 00's. Dude made legendary movies. Too bad he disappeared after that
1:27 "wait til u see what we've done with the internet, we got every gang from 4chan to Xbox Live working together now"
🤣🤣🤣
Derek is to confused about life he thinks he’s always thinking clearly but he’s just trading ignorance for ignorance
Really speaks volumes about the filmmakers to think that a hate filled Nazi would come out of prison reformed and a changed man and not more hardened than ever lol
It's a MOVIE you genius
@@somnuswaltz5586 Precisely my point. It’s propaganda.
Seems you have missed the entire point of the goddamn film. Wow
@@calvincameron354 Thanks, Calvin!
@@RayFinkle05 "Precisely my point. It’s propaganda."
You're supposed to use a comma in between "point" and "It's". You are a very dumb individual.
Anybody else shocked to revisit and see that Kevin Spacey wasn’t Cameron’s actor this whole time??? Idk why I always thought he was for ages.
..... Nope
They look nothing alike lol
this is the best movie that covers the topic of Racism.
Great actors. Great movie . Still one of my favourites ever
Its weird.I dont rate norton in other films, yet in this he was on fire, and could stand with de niro, pacino, washington, freeman, hackman.
The singer is Jason Lee’s brother from My Name is Earl!
Cam wanted derek to be himmler to his hitler, instead derek became Claus Von Stauffenberg
Why does Derek look like he's smirking when he's angry?
I bet these two guys had a hell of a time acting this out.
@@lj6109 I can just picture a blooper of this where he does that and both of them just start laughing their asses off
Keech as absolutely chilling in this.
Norton was perhaps a little too convincing in this role.
I like the old Derek better.
@SarahCarrizales-nk3iewtf
Cameron was a real Sociopath.
Can’t believe this is Sergeant Stedenko from Up in Smoke sometimes 😂
That kick was sweet
Derek looks like Bud Bundy in the thumbnail 🤣
Lmao 😂
"You're a dead man, Vinyard." I guess kicking you one more time while you are laying on the ground won't matter then.
My favorite scene in the whole movie
Top 10 greatest movies imo
Norton is a Legend. This film and 25th hour!
Actually the part of his life that he lost was between meeting cam and his first day in jail. The 3 years he spent in jail was a very valuable time for him
