A lot of us had these kinds of conversations with our siblings. Either our brothers or sisters. This is when growth happens and the bond between you becomes stronger. If you have a brother or sister, don’t forget to call them, text them, tell them you love them.

I can't even explain how hard the shame of being led down that road is. It'll be a stain on my conscience for the rest of my life. I was a promising, well educated person, but I had some inner demons that they played right into. Hell, I still am, and I'm fortunate enough that I got a second chance to turn things around, but in terms of my conscience, it will take the rest of my life to make up for letting that shit get fed into my head and accepting it as any kind of solution for anything. Hatred isn't natural or genetic. It's taught, and they go for the vulnerable first when they're spreading it.
Let your message resonate with black people too. Lots of blacks hate white people just because they share the same skin color to those who did awful things so many years ago.........
I remember hearing from one of my dad's friends who was in the military along with my dad and said that their drill instructor told them that there was no color there but green. All of their squad mates were green and it didn't matter where they came from. They all needed to work and depend on each other
When someone says to you "Im sorry that happened to you" and you say "Nah... I'm not." Because going through tough times and even trauma can give you wisdom you just can't buy. That doesnt make it ok but it's a strong silver lining.
This movie is totally changing my life. Im not that fascist but derek's change is so wholesome and affective. It always remind me stay better person all the time no matter what happens...

God I wish as a society and community that we'd all have this conversation.... I feel that we're all pissed off! We've let anger and misunderstanding somehow direct decisions....
My favorite quote from this movie is "hate is baggage. life is too short to be pissed off all the time" but this movie is truly about trauma. Trauma is the baggage that prevents you from being the person you need to be. Hatred lets you be the person you want to be. Hatred lets you be angry, hatred lets you have a reason for your anger and hatred can even carve a place for you in the world. But it's trauma that keeps that door closed, or that wall covered as seen in this scene, that you've been wanting to go through or look at your entire life. Hate is easy to let go, but trauma is a part of you. Letting go of your trauma is hard because it's like the first chapter in the book of your life. You can't ignore it or make it go away, you have to learn an appreciation or neutral respect for the hardship of that trauma and how it played a part in your development into the person you are today. This scene and movie displays that fact perfectly
Actually one of the guys had a gun so killing him was basically self defense when trying to protect his property. The other guy that got curb stomped however was not in a position of causing any damage so that was completely unnecessary. However if you're going to rob someone then you should accept full responsibility for the unknown outcome.
@@PeaceEpieces they shouldn’t have but that curb stomp was unnecessary. Lawrence was already paralyzed from bullet wounds and couldn’t move. Derek grabbed his unconscious body and curb stomped him. Lawrence was no longer a threat at that point. He was also running away once the first guy was shot. Derek could’ve just called the cops because the dudes were waiting for him to open the door
Seeing the brothers take all that NAZI bullshit propaganda down was satisfying. You have to ask yourself one question Has anything you’ve done made your life better?

@@chrisiceheart lol. I'm sure he's supposed to know who Danny is. I've read that he's supposed to be the brother of the guy Derek curb stomped which would make a lot more sense, but Ive never seen it confirmed.
Jerome is essentially a reflection of Derek's character. He's consumed with hatred/anger and kills someone senselessly. Danny's death won't make him feel better. It's basically saying that hatred and anger is a vicious cycle. That's what I took away from it anyway.
Now with the internet, you could be so lucky to actually get through to a family member. Forget it. Everybody's lost. They're gone since age 7 or 8. By the time they're 13, 14, 15, they're not listening to their brother, mother, father, sister. The collective has each person in it's grips. If you want family, you need to shut it down. Shut it off. Go to church on Sundays. Get out of the city. Get off the grid. Get real. The internet has stolen our lives.
The point of this movie is not anti-racism, or is not racism is bad, it is racism is vad for your health. Every minority in the movie is negative, every black guy is a convict, and the jew is portrayed as goofy. Every point Derek makes is factually correct and shown charismatically.
To all young kids, don't fall into a belief or addiction that kills you. Follow God and a life that makes you feel better, life's too short to have hate.

It's never too late to reinvent yourself. Much respect for your introspection. Best of luck to you, hang in there.
good for you buddy, hope you're doing well
Let your message resonate with black people too. Lots of blacks hate white people just because they share the same skin color to those who did awful things so many years ago.........
When Edward Furlong gets shot and his brother turns up. Makes me cry. Fxxcking epic film.
Real brother shit. This is how brothers talk...from the soul. Idc what race you are. Love your fam.
The ending was so tragic. Only film that has ever made me cry.
What abt the ending of gladiator dude
cant be only one........
I remember hearing from one of my dad's friends who was in the military along with my dad and said that their drill instructor told them that there was no color there but green. All of their squad mates were green and it didn't matter where they came from. They all needed to work and depend on each other
this movie was perfection
We talk about Norton ,
but don't forget about Furlong's performance .
clicked on a random history X video and see Vektor Terminal redux pfp. Thats gas
When someone says to you "Im sorry that happened to you" and you say "Nah... I'm not." Because going through tough times and even trauma can give you wisdom you just can't buy. That doesnt make it ok but it's a strong silver lining.
Norton is an absolute incredible actor.
He delivered above masterpieces i think
This movie is totally changing my life.
Im not that fascist but derek's change is so wholesome and affective. It always remind me stay better person all the time no matter what happens...
not that fascist
Me encanta que a pesar de las actitudes violentas de Derek la película también muestre que era un hermano cariñoso y que quería demasiado a su familia.
A very compelling scene
God I wish as a society and community that we'd all have this conversation.... I feel that we're all pissed off! We've let anger and misunderstanding somehow direct decisions....
Great movie. Sad ending but was all bc he gave into anger and let it rule him and his decisions . Even for his whole family
Yeah, it's not like those guys tried to kill him on his own front porch or anything.
@@American-Plague they were just disadvantaged youths needing to borrow his vehicle.
@@amac8237 They probably had "mental health issues" as well.
@@amac8237 one of them was unarmed, and after they stopped being threats it became murder.
I miss the 90s movies. I’m glad that I was there and saw these movies in real indie theaters.
Danny's like I'll just throw this junk in my closet for now the trash can is full😉
I don’t know if they meant to do this but I like when they look at the blank wall as if it’s a new blank canvas to start over or begin a new life on
0:41 yeah. You should’ve gotten life for that curb stomp. That was one of the worst things I’ve seen in a movie.
They shouldnt have shown up at his house.
One of the best fucking films ever, absolutely spectacular.
Seeing the brothers take all that NAZI bullshit propaganda down was satisfying. You have to ask yourself one question Has anything you’ve done made your life better?
Divide and rule can only tear us apart/in every mans chest there beats a heart.- Bob Marley.
my father had a picture of Adolf Hitler in his wallet but no picture of me or my brother. if I hadn't had a good mother, today I would have hated others for the way they look. i loved my dad r.i.p but he was lost
the photograph of Hitler with the little blond girl. the girl is Jewish and so was the photographer who worked for Hermann Goering. When Goering was asked about this, by his underlings he said : "i will determine who is and who is not a Jew".
I love when they start ripping that shit off the wall!!!
People got a right to live and be free and have equal opportunity!!! Leave that racist distraction and weight behind!!! Too much to carry around everyday!! FN Baggage man!!!
I love this scene
I was angry for a long time too......
Derek Is The Older Brother
There is truly nothing like a brothers love. My little brother had the big mouth. I had the the big arms.
IF you have a proper brother, and great brother love. There are trash brothers out there too.
@mateokovac2642 Very true I got closer to him as we got older, but we definitely had our moments.
@@tedjr.sullivan1882 Arguements are normal, as long as they don't escalate all the time. I had a bad relationsship with my older brother. He was spoiled, and had an unfair behaviour towards everyone especially me. As we got older it got better, than he died. Gotta be honest i'm a bit envious of people that are great brothers man.
Eddie furlong was fucking great in this too..
Dont think i have ever seen a bigger visual message in any other movie or show when they stripped the wall of all that hatred.
Now Derek is taking under Danny’s wings
Just wished the ending was different. Overall great film. Damn great acting by Edward Norton and I loved Edward Furlong as a kid in the 90s.
Perfect ending.Hate solves nothing buy leaves you confused angry and overall gets you killed sometimes.
Scene gives me chills every time I see it
End racism 😊 🤜🏼 🙊
What a wonderful scene
Sometimes you have to live a lie to see the importance of truth.
Guy Torry talked alot about how the director was racist towards him between sets and how ed was becoming to attached to the character
Jail always fucks with your mind
Top 5 movie of all time
Not quite but it is a moving one.
Amazing scene. Just tearing down hate.
Top 10 best movies ever
This scene is so surreal
Should be a required movie in public schools
Too many knuckleheads these days would get the wrong message.
Such a powerful movie
Love how they took down all that racist shit but left the 🇺🇸 up. The differences is what makes us the greatest nation. I’m Mexican American. When I was in the army deployed to Afghanistan my NCO e5 was a black man from Warner Robins Ga. My best friend was another e4 like me white kid from Hemet,ca. we all still keep in touch til
This day and that was in 2011. They would’ve died for me and me them. Brothers 4 life
I can still taste the concrete.
lmfao, thats cold bro
Hate can truly Eat You Alive
I don't know why that character Jerome killed Danny at the end of the movie.
because Danny had acted harshly and with venom towards Jerome for his race; even if he was only doing it for his brother's approval.
@@chrisiceheart harshly and with venom, lol? Jerome yelled in his face and said "you want some too bitch??!!". Danny didn't say a word. What movie did you watch?
@@MrOctober44 lol you're right I agree its dumb reasoning to kill him; i havent seen the movie in a while lmao
This movie and sling blade 💯🙏
this movie was brilliant
At least danny grew his hair out, learned to play drums and saw kiss live in Detroit the following year.
I'll take those cool posters
The point of this movie is not anti-racism, or is not racism is bad, it is racism is vad for your health. Every minority in the movie is negative, every black guy is a convict, and the jew is portrayed as goofy. Every point Derek makes is factually correct and shown charismatically.
I feel like you're implicitly trying to justify racialism.
Uhh I'm pretty sure the point is that racism is bad. Lol
Oh shit it’s babs from entourage never noticed that before
Plus, you're the leader of the human resistance against the machines.
To all young kids, don't fall into a belief or addiction that kills you. Follow God and a life that makes you feel better, life's too short to have hate.
You freaks need to watch the whole movie before thinking this is some heartfelt scene
