    Thank you for making this video! I’ve been back & fort several times try to make this bluebox my stem player! Funny that searching bluebox videos did not pull this one up, but it popped up randomly with my other UA-cam feed😬🤔…but yes please make more bluebox videos for playing stems!
    Specifically, I’d like to play stems of my own songs on bluebox while midi connected to other gear(guitar pedals/drum machines/loops etc) in a live setting.
    Thanks again!❤🎉

    Thanks man, I was about to sell my blue box. I brought it and never used it because it didn’t have a loop 🔁 feature. Im going to try this when I get home.

      Oh, I'm just using my bluebox to record stuff and send different mixes to my monitors, headphones and a livestream.
      I'm using the blackbox for loops (that can be triggered with MIDI commands from a sequencer that also sends a clock and start/stop commands to the bluebox).

    Hey Lucas,
    when i select some prerecorded stems and also play in another instrument live (as you showed in this video) - can i then apply effects (e.g. a compressor) to the overall mix and record the overall mix including the live and the prerecorded parts?

      Yes. Just be sure to arm the Master fader channel and hit record.

    How do you connect this thing to speakers? They have proper TRS jack inputs and/or XLR......You telling me you need an adapter? My god

    • @lucasfackler
      @lucasfackler  Місяць тому +1

      You can use a stereo breakout cable. 1/8 TRS to dual 1/4”. There aren’t any mixers this size with XLR or 1/4” TRS outputs.

    Strange that all steams do not have the same length when they are imported in Ableton. Do you have some idea how to fix that?

    Say I have a live set of 8-12 tracks stereo tracks, and I want to use it as my live mixer for my synths, but also as a backing track player for each song. Can I use it in a live set, without having to load a project for each song, in between songs?

    • @lucasfackler
      @lucasfackler  2 місяці тому +1

      The load times are fast, because it’s actually streaming the audio from the microSD card rather than caching them to ram. I would still absolutely recommend a project for each song.

    • @Ancaja123

      @@lucasfackler but does that mean that the inputs will go silent during loading? I often have ambient loops and stuff going on between songs

    • @lucasfackler
      @lucasfackler  2 місяці тому

      @@Ancaja123 If you build each project from the same template with all tracks using the same IO so there's no input remapping happening, the input will continue to play without any interruption when loading the next project.

    Also as good as the bluebox is- I don’t see how you can load up multiple songs in a live setting that won’t take forever to set up in between songs, unfortunately. If you have to stop & menu dive & select stems you need & assigning them to to the proper channels….that’s not going to be practical for anyone…unless I’m missing something that hasn’t been shown 😬😥🤔

    • @lucasfackler
      @lucasfackler  Рік тому +2

      Each song should be its own Project. You can save as many projects as you’d like, limited only by your sd card size. If you take the time to setup your entire show, there should be no configuring on stage. Projects load very quickly, you will have mere seconds of downtime between songs.

    • @wayneanderson2866

      @@lucasfackler thanks!…but if I have 8 or 10 stems per song, don’t I have to individually place each stem in a ‘slot’ one at a time & eat up extra time?…or am I wrong?... If I can load multiple stems together at one time, I didn’t see that as an option.

    • @wayneanderson2866
      @wayneanderson2866 Рік тому +2

      Ok after thinking about that for a few min….maybe you’re saying that when I load the project, the stems should already be in their assigned slots….if that’s the case, then that makes total sense😛👍🏼

    • @lucasfackler
      @lucasfackler  Рік тому +4

      You would setup each song, loading each .wav and then save that Project as that particular song name. Move onto a new Project or saves-as the previous song and edit the .wav files and again save the Project. If you set up in advance and save multiple Projects, all you need to do at showtime is load each song from its saved Project.

      All of this work should be done prior to taking stage.

    Thank you for the video explaining this! Considering a Bluebox and playing WAV files is one of my needs. Do you know if the stems will loop while recording?

    • @lucasfackler
      @lucasfackler  Рік тому +1

      Currently no, there’s no ability to loop. But you can record over and over without losing anything.
