Ryan: I've been watching your podcasts for over a year now. I so enjoy your videos. You are not a drama king but rather a very calming presence. The quality of your output is excellent--so entertaining and informative. I consider your videos to be world class not due to any technical do-dads but because you bring a human element to the fore. Bravo. And that you appreciate your audience whose attention is being sought after by any number of other tantalizing opportunities. I would never do the amount of traveling you do but I feel fortunate to be able to tag along and see how you figure out how to resolve problems, explore new places, meet new folks, and make us all feel so very much included and welcome to come along. I also like your use of old-timey phrases such as hit the hay and such. Thank you for all you do and continue your very fine work for as long as you enjoy it. All the best!
Hey Ryan. I just wanted to say thank you for your content. I was recently in a motorcycle accident and your videos during my recovery have been very relaxing. Your content has taught me to slow down and enjoy the things around me. Also, I may have borrowed some of your recipes, which have been very delicious. Keep the content coming brother, you’re awesome 🤙
Glow plugs for those Chinese diesel heaters are readily available on Amazon. I recently ordered one for my diesel heater and it shipped the same day. It also came complete with the required extraction tool. It's a lot easier to just change a glow plug than tear apart your van to remove and replace the whole assembly.
If the diesel heaters are that unreliable, and you accept that, perhaps you should buy a backup when you order the replacement and keep a spare. I have a spare water pump in my RV because you just never know.
Hey Ryan, keep a bottle of diesel 911 anti gel in your van to use if your diesel fuel gels up and your heater shuts down. Your reservoir is small and will gel faster in the cold. Trucker recommended😊. Thanks for the journey!
The minerals in water do not evaporate and can short out your key fob. Grab some q-tips and use isopropyl alcohol and don't be shy to give everything a good rub that is electrical. Also make sure water is not sitting under the button shorting it out if possible. The alcohol will evaporate and you might get lucky the key fob would work. I've done this two times with one of my key fobs and it still works years after. As I type this the key fob is working LoL. Still prudent to give it a cleaning.
Hey, Ryan, your vlogs are always over in what feels like, five seconds. I would love to see some longer-form content from you if that's something you're into. Thanks and safe travels.
pro tip if your key or mostly any electronic gets wet internally do not do anything other than immediately take it a part and let it dry. Most of the time they will work. Using them when wet is hat mostly shorts them out.
Love watching you cook. You are the best traveler cook I have seen in the van life posters. How sweet of them to send you those photos to share. They were amazing.
I'VE BEEN THERE WITH THE KEY FOB GOING INTO THE WATER, SEVERAL TIMES. TWICE IN POOLS WHILE IN MY POCKET, ONCE FELL OUT OF MY POCKET INTO THE DOGS WATER BOWL.
Ryan, I beg you man, never stop making this type of content, you are fantastic at. Myself and many others on this platform look forward to whenever a new video of yours comes out. Top work my man 😎✊ Karl from Bradford in England
Tip for knife care: when you're scraping ingredients off the board, use the back of the knife, not the blade edge. If you keep scraping with the blade edge, you'll end up rolling the edge much faster than normal and your knife will get dull way faster than it should. Also, a simple steel honing rod is a great way to keep your edge aligned and cutting smoothly so you won't need to sharpen your knife too often either.
I used a fine tip white nail polish pen on mine and my markings have lasted for over 3 years, now. Had to use an oven thermometer to get the markings right, because I didn't want to eyeball it. End result was better (and a lot more accurate) than what the manufacturer supplied when the stove was new.
Just remove the glow plug and take it to an auto parts store, oreillys, autozone, etc. They will be able to cross reference any part numbers on it to get you a new one.
Have you ever thought about insulating your waterlines?. And insulating around your water tanks and around your pump. You can even put a vent to have heat circulate into there to keep it warmer.
6 of crows duology or maybe Project hail Mary brother. Some of the best audio books Ive listened to multiple times. If your in need of some distraction from driving try these.
I am making red linguine tonight with clams but I’m being cheap and using canned clams no shell 🐚 still always delicious cheap white wine in it butter olive oil garlic onion parsley and I add a jar drained of marinated artichoke hearts because I luv them in anything I can throw them in it’s delicious
Ryan you already know to scroll past the negative comments! I can't stand seeing those replies. In my experience the dry rice tip was a waste of good rice. Maybe cruise the kitchen section of a Dollar Tree type store next time you are in a town doing laundry. They have these 6 inch wide or so flat rubber spatulas that can help you scoop up the veggies. Maybe not one handed while holding camera. You are not a slob. You take the time to give us great/different shots while filming. You also clean it up. Who should care if you leave it for the next time. What a waste of time and energy. You keep being you! Continue to enjoy your life. No one is handing out awards because you don't make a mess or you clean it up super fast. I remind myself...in 100 years is anyone going to remember this... Your positive, helpful, entertaining videos might still be there in a 100 years doing good for people. You seem like a great person. Thanks for the content! Be safe and be happy!
If any device gets wet, remove battery and let sit in uncooked rice for about an hour. I keep a sandwich bag of rice on hand for this very purpose. Works just about every time.
I know all about truck stops on the West coast my husband is a big rig driver. Loves are some of the better truck stops. There are some really good truck stops in Arizona called Dave's i think there really nice as well. Love to see where you go. Some of those places look really cool. Hope you get your heater fixed so. Stay safe and have fun.
Better get some electrical cleaner for remote lock controller. I fixed someones key remote it took a few times because of corrosion. Put another wire paperclip with another homemade battery connector. But it still was in bad shape. Guess you can buy another unless your handy electronic fixer. Maybe they got waterproof coat.
Order yourself 2 new Chinese heater so you have one in spare haha the cables and everything else works perfect and u just have to swap out the unit. Also running kerosine through it might clean your glow plug up
I was looking to see if anyone suggested buying two sets of replacement pieces. For these emergencies and also maybe later the parts are out of stock or discontinued.
@@BlueShadow923 the controllers for the newer generation Chinese diesel heaters are identical to the older units, and the size too. They never change the diameter
Welcome to Utah! Meadows hot spring is a really cool spot. If you find yourself more north there is a hot spring in a cave in park city. Love your videos!
If you get some 90 percent isopropylne alcohol and lightly brush it on the board of your key fob and let it dry it should work I work in a phone repair industry and that's how we treat some water damage
Probably wont work due to the water being "dirty" however try bathing your key in pure isopropyl alcohol and scrubbing the board gently with a fine brush, then leave out to dry. The alcohol will completely evaporate leaving no shmoo and residue and can save electronics and hopefully you $300 dollary doos.
Longtime fan brother, was curious: any thoughts of getting a small dog of some kind to travel with you? Might be good to have a companion. Anyways love the videos man, one of my favorite channels on UA-cam
He made a poll asking the crowd if he would want content on it. Most of us said we would not fuck with it especially with just being a smaller version of the car we have
If you have a pair of polarized sunglasses, you can use them as a filter when you try to show us fish or underwater things to get rid of a ton of glare. Thanks for all the great content! My girlfriend and I watch all your videos.
I found the hot springs unappealing due to the mud and the evidence of garbage at the bottom. However, the pie looked absolutely delicious and I think I might have a go at it. All the best big guy.
It still amazes me each time you fill up your water and need another filter plus the ones in the van. How bad is your water in the states? I’m an Aussie and we’ve never had to use those! 🇦🇺
I would stay at the beach, 24/7..Just sit there, with the beach waves, all day, all night..just there..I live in NC..but hard to get to the beach alot, even to Carolina Beach much less Myrtle...

There's so many awesome places to stay along Logan Canyon and Green Canyon, and there's also Bear Lake which is the most beautiful place to watch the sunset from! It's not too cold right now either :) you're my comfort youtuber and i love seeing your adventures!

look up the stove knob replacement online and instead of buying it, eyeball the 'levels' and then white sharpie your existing knob! we love DIY!

Take shop air and blow it through the exhaust and intake of your diesel heater. May work for now
so relaxing see ryan doin his thing. :)

How often do you have to replace that external water filter? also does it get moldy keeping it in that bag? great video, keep it up!
Always nice to see you cooking in the videos. I get ideas from you to cook stuff for myself! Great videos!
Hey. I was just there! Last week. Parked at the same hotspring. Made a simple steak and grilled asparagus on my outside grill.

There's a screen in with the glow plug that you can take out and clean. You need a special socket just grind a slot in the side of a regular socket

If you have AlphaODB a key is MUCH cheaper and easy. Only issue would be cutting the "key" part.

Great stuff, Ryan. Make sure to share those pics when you get them.
always looking forward to these uploads
try putting the key fob in a bag of rice. ...rice is good for absorbing.. also great idea when you drop[ your [phone in the water.

This is correct. I ran my iPod shuffle through the washing machine. Alcohol and a gentle spray of compressed air and it works like new!
Love watching your vlogs after a long day at work. So relaxing and the food you cook looks awesome.

You should put your key fob in cup of rice over night and the rice will draw out the moisture out of key fob
I agree that Love’s is spectacular. But have you experienced a Buc-ee’s yet?
That pot pie looked so good, I want some now!

Chicken Pot Pie !! Killer Meal !!! Yummm!!
Ryan, next time you have scraps of leftover pie crust, dip them in butter, then roll them in some cinnamon sugar! Super delicious treat!!
Order 2 diesel heaters and always have a spare, they are cheap enough.
