As a Maltese person watching this it really filled me up with joy because of how much you guys liked it, to be honest I never knew so many people knew about my tiny island but I always see tourists so that's good! And I'll give you a fun fact! Us Maltese people have a lot of history and we have the longest living temples!! Enjoy your stay.

Malta's fantastic with wonderful historic sites virtually from before the Egyptian pyramids to the 21st century! I hope you got the chance to see the Ggantija Temple in Gozo from c. 3100 BC as well as the supposed Cave of Calypso where that legendary nymph supposedly distracted the Greek king Ulysses from his Odyssey around the Mediterranean! Gozo and Malta are NOT just about beaches and nightlife! If Malta didn't already exist, someone would have had to have imagined it up like Narnia, Hogwarts and Oz, it's that incredible! FANTASTIC vids and glad you enjoyed Valletta!

Love how you get the impression that Sliema is a calm place, it's probably the most busy place together with St. Julians :D But during the heatwave and (I assume a weekday), it is probably busier at a touristic sightseeing spot like Valletta. Make sure to visit Mdina and Marsaxlokk if you can.

Haha I know...I thought the same thing. I grew up living in Sliema but I find it easy too busy for me. Moved to Rabat and live it as its so much quieter. Enjoy Malta.... just walk off any main road and take the side streets as that is where you really get a feel of the island and the locals. Get talking to as many locals as you can as most are really really friendly. Try Valletta on a Friday night... it is so alive, with lovely live bands whilst eating outdoors in the cooler air

1/ The balconies are simply called Maltese balcony
2/ The dust on the cars comes from the so called Blood rain which is a rainfall mixed with the Saharan sand dust
3/ Sliema isn't a calm place to live, trust me. ;-)

Never thought of going to Malta before we went to Malta in 2011 and have been a number of times since. Stayed in Melliha the first time, lovely place, quiet with a fantastic beach, the best on the island. We tend to stay around Bugibba/Qawra/St Paul's as we like the bars and restaurants with easy access to the whole island using the buses.

Great video. Makes me very homesick. I spent my formative years in Malta (4.5), and it's my favorite place in the world. Your pronunciation of Valletta was perfect, try SlEEma, to pronounce Sliema. They can only really build UP in Malta as obviously there's limited space. I hope I'm going to find your video of Gozo, because it's more like the Malta I remember from the late 70's early 80's. Not as many tourists, still has the feel of being laid back and history. I was back in 2014 with a class reunion and was sad to see all the "new" stuff everywhere. Where there used to be a great little restaurant, there's a Burger King. New and modern looking buildings were very upsetting for all of us to see. The orange monstrosity in Paceville is heartbreaking.

I was in Malta for 10 days this past May. So many of the sites of Valletta and Silema I recognize well. I can't wait to see your trip to Gozo that was our favourite part of our trip(Go see the Ggantija Temples) and buy some beautiful Gozo glass. Hope at some point you went into St John's Co Cathedral. I don't attend Church, but the beauty of its interior is stunning. We've been about a dozen times to Malta. First stayed in St Julian (where most of the young focused nightlife, cafes, pubs and restaurants are. Along with Bay Street Shopping Mall and activities. But we now base in Sliema.. quieter, yet with pubs, cafes, restaurants and Waterfront shopping within walking distance. Don't know if you went on the Nightclub Cruise (or if it still operates). So many youth focused activities alongside stunning architecture and fascinating Historical based sites. Fort St Angelo is a day trip on its own. The Three Cities are beautiful and romantic... as is Mdina (although ruined by the tourists. 😉) A tiny island. But Malta (and Gozo) have pulled us back every year, until Covid. Lovely to see it re-awakening. I'm Scottish, so sun and heat helps Malta's cause. 😂

Sliema and other surrounding towns aren't part of Valletta. Once you leave the fortified city gate you leave Valletta. It's just a very small 'city'

It seems that we have a lot in common, I love M&S and yes our Junior Eurovision song from 2003 was a vibe haha. Sliema is not exactly a 'calm peaceful' place, it's actually notoriously known to be busy.. it's a very commercial area. That Swedish restaurant was probably opened due to a good amount of Swedes working here, there's also a Swedish grocery shop called 'Little Sweden', which I love to shop from.

Wow the view of a tourist is so different to that of a local! As a local, Sliema to us is just chaos ! maybe it's mostly related to the shopping area and issues with traffic and lack of parking, with the narrow streets you showed offering some solace. Valletta is the country's capital city and is wonderful at night. Great restaurants, wineries and lounge bars. Also Valletta lit up at night is beautiful.

Malta is absolutely on my bucket list! It was so nice being able to see the ocean and all of the beautiful limestone buildings! I will be sure to steer clear of the Euronet ATMs. Nothing infuriates me more than tourist traps like that! Can't wait for the next video!

One of the main reasons why cars are dusty is because of the sandstorms that blow up from the Sahara Desert. Another reason would be that in summer Malta is very dry, with very little rainfall.

On the cars there is sand that blows in from the dessert, it is basically everyone. I live in Malta but I am from Sweden.

That's so true 🤩🤣..Europeans not only get into any available water. They sunbathe in the park during lunch break. That's adaptation to so few sunny days per year. So adorable 😍 💖

the "dust" on the cars is from the Sirocco -- the winds literally blowing Sahara sand from Africa

Hi, I wanted to ask you how should I do to learn English through movies, TV series and songs, what methods should I apply, how should I approach these tools and how can I put them into practice? Ditto for books/audiobooks/podcasts and videos on youtube, where should I start if I'm at zero??? Nb: I'm a 20-year-old boy and I haven't decided which path to take yet but at the moment I'm more oriented towards languages and I would also like to go and live in England!
