  • These are just some stories that I found very interesting and relatable. Hard to imagine all of these men would had set around and collaborated fictional lies in order to have relevance in life. Is there some exaggeration, or perhaps left out details? I would say yes, but the overall human side of Elvis makes him more intriguing. IN MY OPINION!

Right on. Is all about money honey. Just like is shrewd ex-wife, kept bleeding him for money, after divorce. Yes, she put Graceland, on the map. But she was also robbing Lisa, from her trust. Paying herself $900,000, a year. Doing nothing, for it. . I think she did that not for Lisa. So she can keep living off Elvis money. Look, now she thinks, Lisa's trust belongs to her. She was a user. Like everyone else that wrote a book. She also wrote a book, making Elvis sound like a monster. He was human, he wasn't a God. If Priscilla, really loved him, she shouldn't had writing that book. That's was between then 2, the world didn't had to know. What the hell happened to privacy??.She wanted more money, from the book. And Elvis, was dead, could not defend himself.

These men enjoyed the ride of Elvis’ fame + fortune until his health became so precarious that his father, Vernon laid them off. Their response was to write a book about Elvis’ flaws out of spite + for money. This saddened Elvis and his response was, “They gotta do what they gotta do.” He died weeks after. Elvis made peace with His Maker, his Lord + Saviour Jesus Christ before he died + is with Him right now. I’ve read, watched + listened enough to confidently arrive at this conclusion.

I love Elvis too, but maybe you should read the book before you judge them. Elvis was a raging druggie by 71 & if you don't believe that then you have blinders on. These are the guys that protected Elvis, not Joe or Charlie or Jerry or the Colonel who used him.

I will say my favorite positive story is in reference to the lady that couldn’t walk and couldn’t afford a wheelchair so Elvis and some guys went over to her house with a brand new electric wheel chair that he helped put her in that chair personally, and I believe he gave her a kiss. The best part of that story is upon leaving her house, one of the guys said: “Elvis, I don’t think she knew who you were.” His response was: “It doesn’t matter, she knows that someone cared.”

Elvis had a heart of gold. That could never be denied.
He truly was the best singer I have ever heard. The King of Rock & Roll.
But I can't close my eyes to how he treated Priscilla. How he cheated on her.
And that was before all the addictions.
If he had treated her right, they could have been so happy. So very happy.
He really loved her. But just couldn't stay faithful. So sad. And this goes for many celebrities in the public eye, that get carried away with the stardom, and women throwing themselves at them.
But he worshipped his daughter for sure. The Apple of Daddy's eye ❤
Yes, the Memphis Mafia went along for the ride, taking care of business.
But he wouldn't listen to them. And they proved their love over and over, by taking all the nonsense he would throw at them at times. At this point, I guess they were aware of the state he was in, the pills he was on, and the way it was completely taking over his body, to eventually be his downfall.
I can't deny though - Hearing about those "pictures", and the look on his face when talking about them, didn't sound too good did it .... I hope I'm wrong.

Elvis shot his car interior and would shoot out TVs routinely. He almost shot his girlfriend accidentally who was in the other room. He was out of control with the drugs. That’s crazy, dangerous and unpredictable behavior. It’s a minor miracle that he didn’t hurt anyone seriously.

I built exhibits for the mansion and the museum across the street in the 80s. One that I made was when I was asked to dig the bullets out of his garage back door and make a display out of them, which I did. The flattened 38 slugs were mounted on black velvet in a plex case and stood inside the door for a while. I kept the fake wooden bowl which I was given from Elvis' kitchen to carry the slugs home in. I gave it to a guy because he was a fan, but he brought it back saying no one believed him. I still have it in the cabinet. I built all the black and plexiglass displays in the Auto Museum. Had all his stuff at the house while I built the cases. Lots of stories about that but, another time....

@@alexdarmstaedter454 Interesting story! Elvis was shooting out TV sets and almost hit his girlfriend Linda Thompson in the other room once. She was lucky she didn’t get hurt. He was out of control with the pills and had bad behavior plus he owned hand guns. Not a good combination!
When I saw Elvis’s car on Jay Lenos Garage and the guy who owned it showed the bullet holes in the interior console, I knew that Elvis was out of control because of the drugs he was taking. I mean, who shoots a gun inside a Car? That’s crazy!
But it confirmed that it happened and the Memphis Mafia covered up all this because they didn’t want bad publicity for Elvis. Most of them were enablers and kept feeding him the pills that ended up killing him.
He took pills to wake up and to go to sleep including pain pills like Percodan. Why?
He was heavily addicted to pills and took 100 a day purportedly.
That’s just crazy! The drugs made him bloated and killed him. He was only 42.
      RIP Elvis

My mother was in Elvis' home room at Humes High in 52, as well. She and Elvis worked together to decorate the Christmas party. I came up next to him on my motorcycle at the light at Pendleton and Airways, prob 1971. He was on his fringed Harley. He gave me the TCB sign and turned off when the light changed. When I had his stuff at my house to make the exhibits, 1985, a Japanese man who was an Elvis impersonator came by to see his stuff. He put on Elvis leather motorcycle jacket. It was like a religious experience to him. He reached into the pocket and found a pack of Juicy Fruit gum with one piece gone. He wanted to keep it, but I declined and took it to Graceland office and put it on Todd Morgan's desk, but he was at lunch. Later on someone came by and chewed the gum without realizing.

Well, thanks for sharing your personal story. It’s cool that you got that close to Elvis. He couldn’t exactly live a normal life after he got so famous. He ended up cooped up in Graceland a lot.
He wanted to tour Europe but couldn’t because of the Colonel. So he was hampered. And you know how it all ended. Not well!
Anyway, I had one chance to see Elvis live in concert in 1975. I was twelve years old then. My mother and I were big Elvis fans. And who went? My mother and my older sister instead of me! I’m still pissed off about it!
My mother just barely managed to buy two separate tickets. The concert was sold out. Instead of taking me, she took my older sister who wasn’t even a loyal fan!
They ended up having separate seats. My mother was further away and had the camera. She took one picture where you can see a white speck and that was Elvis on stage. That’s how far she was! My sister was much closer and had no camera. So that didn’t work out.
So my sister got to see Elvis and never mentions him or the concert and I’m a lifelong loyal fan and I didn’t get to see him.
That’s just not right! I still listen to Elvis and my sister could care less about Elvis. Ridiculous, isn’t it? I still resent it!
My sister was always first in the pecking order because she was the oldest. I was always considered last. I was like Jan from the Brady’s yelling Marcia, Marcia, Marcia.
My sister was my Marcia and I was like Jan. The second overlooked child. I still resent that to this day! I don’t agree with how I was raised but it’s water under the bridge now.

Well said. Even many, many years later most of the Memphis Mafia were on video telling us how their lives were never the same after entering Elvis' world. Several of the guys had a few "rough" times with Elvis, but they still love him. My God, it's been 45 years since he died and we're still talking about the man. People will be talking about him for centuries. Youngsters gradually discover his incredible catalog of music. People will be talking about "Elvis" long after we're gone. Think about it...
