Great review! Just set up CrossMix on mine and it helps significantly with the performance. Although, I wish it was a tiny bit more powerful since it’s the PSP games I really want to play and sometimes I have to settle with sub 30fps playback
This is such a well-made, thorough video that really covers all the angles of this device! Love the really calm, easy to understand way you explain it all! :)
I was looking into buying one of these. What I like about the TrimUI Smart Pro was that it has a big screen for the pricepoint. Compared to the 35xx or 40xx line, the screen on this device is big.
its good enough imo, 70% of the games i tested ran out of the boox at 2x or 3x some, other 15% ran at 2x with some tweaks, and yea there are some games that wont run well here. but that big chunk of the psp catalogue that runs well here look amazin on this screen
They really need to update this device with a better CPU. Unfortunately TrimUI rarely release devices but in this form factor psp performance should be very good, it's a missed opportunity.
Vita PSP and PS1 emulation are great, but the benefits to the TSP are that it's quicker to startup and launch a game and it feels better to use for a lot of the other systems. Combine that with better battery life and USB-C charging, and I think most folks would find the TSP more comfortable in most scenarios.
be carefull with the FN button being on the right side, can literally fry up your handheld since its basically running at full cpu all the time even playing light games
I'd love to get my hands on the Trimui Smart Pro, but I already have enough handhelds that either perform similarly like the Anbernic XXs or even surpass it like the RG405M. Trying out CrossMix would be nice, but I can't justify buying another handheld😭
How can it scratch that vita itch when it cannot even do vita and barely any psp games? I almost ordered this but found out it cannot do psp well, speakers are hidden, triggers and sticks suck.
From my testing, the PSP games it can't play well are rarer than the ones it can. My guess is that there's an optimization issue with the CrossMix version of PPSSPP. Even still, there's no reason I can't use either a TSP or Vita depending on my use case. There's no reason I gave to only keep one and throw out the other. As for the other critiques, the speakers sound good for its price range, the sticks don't feel too different from a Vita, and the triggers are perfectly serviceable.
@@GameXData Switch causes all sorts of issues for me after 5 minutes. I had to buy a Ronin and it’s a non-issue. But this system looks more tight than Switch.
Great vid and much insight. I just purchased mine about 3 days ago. Patiently waiting now

Same! A bit more performance to cover some of the PSP gaps would go a long way. With any hope TimUI releases a better-specced sequel after the Brick.

hey man... you got some good presentation skills. keep it up. hope you succeed sooner or later!

Im definitely looking to get this device. Crossmix OS will also be loaded up as soon as i get it!
The Odin 2 Mini is pretty much the Vita 2.
Same goes for the GPD Win 4. Unfortunately, I think both are a bit pricey for most folks
16:9 handheld that doesn't even do PSP well enough is weird.
Was gonna buy this for a dedicated psp hand held but found out it cant even do it.
Running crossmix and Gta Liberty City stories fluently. It's a beast
@@Hanna1968 how do you run a crossmix?

It's $35 on AliExpress atm and you can play so many games, at least on my country a PSP it's around $50 and the vita $100

How do you get psvita games on it
Tough sell considering that a modded Vita is essentially a PSP and a PS1.

Whether the switch affects CPU performance is dependent on settings. Mine's only set to toggle the lights on and off.

Here's an excuse. Buy it.... because i said so 😂

So a Jailbroken Vita is still the better value? 🤔🤷🏾♂️🕹️
nice vid bro
looks very uncomfortable for medium to large hands
looks like it would be perfect for kids under 12
I'm a fairly large guy with fairly large hands and haven't had any issues yet
