I’m liking these breakdowns, it shows how knowledgeable Brago is about One Piece and how good he is about breaking down fighting and other things in the episodes. I understand most of us are as Knowledgeable as Brago in One Piece lore/general, due to us always having One Piece on the brain especially with the streams and videos we watch. It’s nice for it to broken down and explained for casual too.

From what im speculating of the dawn whip, Basically after he struck lucci in the face with his leg, he spun to the left extremely fast before stopping himself, and by spinning fully to the right, it unleashes a far more devastating whip propelled at full force, like a whip that attains the speed of sound when you hear a sort of "boom" from the tip as it causes tiny smoke. Its like triggering and shooting a bullet and that bullet moving faster than your body could react to. So short answer, after he spun to the left, then spun again but to the right, the bent leg kept on pressing more and more into lucci which applied stronger force into the leg, then flicking him away like realistic whip that reaches speed of sound for just a second.
im taking the anime episode over the manga but my anime only friend i was watching with turned to me and said "lucci is stronger than Sanji" and all i could do is laugh because i cant blame bro from what he was seeing.
I think Egghead is gonna be seen as the point where the anime can adapt the story better than the manga just due to how Gear 5 is a cartoon-centric character that inherently works better in animation.
I dunno the anime has always done a better job than the manga, just pacing has gotten worse over the years, personally I think you can now directly see oda leaving things out of the manga for speed things up and leaving the anime to fill in the blanks which is at least in my opinion an over all win.
I don't think S-Shark's ground quake is an awakening, it's just how devastating the Swim Swim fruit would have been in the hands of a Fishman Karate master.
15:12 So i have the answer to your question about how they got all of our characters DNA, Remember whenever we got Kaido's Flashbacks, He saved King from being EXPERIMENTED on him, tortured him, enslaved him, and i think Kaido may have went through some of these same things because how else would Vegapunk have his DNA, Same with King, But peep this everyone that has been in Impel Down has a clone of themselves aka the warlords, Doffy, Crocodile, Jimbe, Hancock, and I think they must have had Mihawk give them or snuck some of his DNA away from him, We will have to find out but for the most part i believe they took the DNA while they were imprisoned and or warlords, also whenever some were experimented on which is a obvious give away they were trying to find out how to replicate King and they did but they did so with warlord dna and devil fruit powers for the perfect super soldier because they knew Lunarians were the strongest most capable race other than the giants and buccaneers, and any other if i am missing some (i guess you could say fishmen because they are stronger than a base human but so is every other race besides tonka's and fodder locations) but if anyone has anything to add or suggest, or a diff opinion about this particular topic feel free to comment on it and let me know your thoughts and opinions!!! :D
I finally figured out Dawn Whip, i think He kicked lucci initially. As lucci was trying to take the attack, luffy started spinning to stretch out the leg he kicked with (lie how the farther you stretch a rubber band, the harder it *whips* back) After stretching his leg around to an insane amount, building A LOT of tension to jumpstart an instant momentum. The anime makes the foot area look weird, but luffy's shin area is on lucci's face. When luffy released the tension, it causes the rubber to whip back to normal. As luffy's foot INSTANTLY snaps back, the foot kicks lucci in the face on the way back to luffy, which is why lucci spins out after the attack. The whiplash of the kick coming back to luffy smacked tf outta lucci after an insane tension build up
I'm personally not bothered by adding additional scenes to the fight but it's really funny how Toei basically wants to turn a one-sided fight into a more equal one. But we all manga readers know that this is filler. But at the end of the day, Luffy easily defeated Lucci, even if Lucci gives a couple of hits in.
What the anime adapted was great, but i still dont enjoy adding things like Lucci landing a hit. Didnt happen in manga and i very much love the idea of Luffy just destroying lucci without getting hit at all. The clash they had in the previous episode is the only time Lucci makes legitimate contact, i believe.

Ok so what I got from the whip is basically twisting a handkerchief until it has a tip and then letting it go at the right point to give it and increase impact if you do this with an handkerchief or anything similar it can literally tear someone's skin off. Used to do this in high school lol

He can sense emotions. Sentomaru didn't mean him harm, he was just doing his duty. Same with what he did in Alabasta with Smoker and then later with Bellamy.
Vincent Chansard is one of those animator that really loves animating villains I'm sure people already know that Vincent is a biggest fan of Kaido. I'm excited for the next stuff that he is gonna be animating, i'm sure it's gonna be the Five Elders, Kizaru. Because Vincent just really like villains, i mean he can also animate heroes I really praise these Toei animators because doing this weekly is really hard. And gonna give them credit
The most obvious answer for Dawn Whip is that it just worked how Luffy imagined it working, since that's how Gear 5 operates. But in my opinion, it was the closest to the actual mechanism of a whip than any of his other "Whip" attacks - the 'crack' just happened after his leg was wrapped around Lucci's head, creating two separate impacts. Normally, Luffy's "Whip" attacks are just the initial hit, with no actual crack happening. The outcome of Dawn Whip was Luffy's leg forcing Lucci's head and upper body backwards right before the Whip cracked and Luffy's foot hit the back of Lucci's head faster than the speed of sound. If it were a normal person, their head would probably be kicked clean off.
That HxH reference you talked about wasn’t when Pitou went after Kite. It was Pitou falling after the air raid; being the only of the three royal guard who doesn’t have wings.
about Jimbe seraphin, its not a awakening , its kyojin karate that manipulates water + swim swim fruit . i think its so clever this combination that vegapunk did
I dont take the red in Luffys hand as Ryo. You have to remember that Nika is the Sun God and that means fire and heat. I think the real reason Luffy could do Red Hawk and Red Roc outside of Gear 5 is that Nika naturally has some fire capabilities. And "dawn" is describing a rising sun which is white hot and fire so most of the dawn moves will probably show some burning damage on close up loke shown here on Lucci's stomach during impact.

As a manga reader I think too many people dismiss these added scenes as not canon when they were added in the context of us knowing that the two were fighting but we just weren’t seeing it. - People are just going to have to accept that fights such as Luffy vs Kizaru and Zoro vs Lucci will have additional fight scenes happening since there are moments in the manga where we see the two fight for a panel or two and then move away.
He got the blood of Jinbe because Jinbe was in impel down. I would assume the Navy takes blood samples of every new Impel Down prisoner during the intake process on Vegapunks request. It would explain how Vegapunk got Señor Pink’s blood

At the end of the series there will only be one power system: lineage factor. Haki probably comes from it. Devil fruits are literally only devices to manipulate lineage factor. The enemies from here on probably manipulated their DNA directly to becomes godlike and might not have the weaknesses devil fruit users do because they are "obsolete".

I think it’s both, especially with the explanation of green blood this episode. Also this is the animator and director’s vision. They’re artists so every episode is a canvas and you want things to connect.
Sharingan? No my friend, that there is the shenanigan! I love that the double kick whip makes a sort of physical sense, except that he used his toon force to literally just PAUSE his foot for a little twinkle toes motion before letting the inertia take effect again. I feel like what S-Shark was doing wasn't so much an awakening as combining Fishman Karate, which can manipulate water, with his devil fruit ability which lets him swim through anything LIKE it's water. That's an absolutely devastating combination. Imagine how hard a 1000 brick punch will hit something if it can treat the entirety of that something like it's water. If you want to see an amazing example of a "camera rotating around a 3D scene" but entirely in 2D with traditional animation, watch The Snowman. The shots when the kid and snowman are flying together are absolutely stunning, but that's what you get when you pour that much money time and talent into a half-hour special.
The Rob Lucci Gas Was Insane and im here for it for now because when the scene of Rob Lucci and Kaku Ko at Luffy And Zoro’s Feet will slap regardless and people will finally understand lucci CP9 aint on luffy level you can argue maybe zoro or sanji lvl id personally place Lucci around Jimbei or Robin lvl
I'm telling y'all. Luffy's main issue now is that can't save people even with broken powers. It's almost impossible to cover 5 admiral level inmortals spread out attacking your crew. What we're gonna get is the Gorosei holding some of the crew hostage in exchange for Luffy to stop resisting. But I also think the Revolutionary Army is going to use this Gorosei-less Marijois to kidnap Imu. Sabo and the rest of the team knows exactly where the throne room is and now it's unguarded.
Am I the only one getting the impression that the next Stage in Luffy’s progression is to conquer the will of Nika? It seems to me in the manga right now that the Gorosei are in total control of their awakening, so is rob Lucci and Kaku, and if I did not know better, I would say that Luffy has almost no control over Nika, perhaps it takes a lot of Haki to control the awakening and that is why he wanes down so fast, but if their will was matching their intent, if they synchronize and Luffy gains control over Nika, then maybe he will be able to stay in that form for a whole lot longer, and it wouldn’t require using Haki at all to awaken? I am under the impression that Doflamingo could use his awakening without burning Haki. I just want to throw that out there, the next stage of Haki evolution will be conquering spirit, the hat Luffy will gain control of Nika, then he will be able to beat the Gorosei and Imu.

One thing I appreciate is how the anime is picking up the slack on the fights. OP has never been the best when it comes to fights specially lately, maybe Oda is tired, but the anime is adding a lot to it which I like. Kizaru vs Luffy was pretty disappointing in the manga specially since Kizaru is one character we have always wanted to see in a serious fight, but I bet it will be magnitudes better in the anime.
I'm probably the only one, but I liked this part better in the Manga. What can not be said about the previous episode(1100). There it was the opposite, and the confrontation was beautifully developed especially the Awaken transformations of both Luffy and Lucci.

I agree, manga made them looked matched up evenly to me though.
As a manga reader I think too many people dismiss these added scenes as not canon when they were added in the context of us knowing that the two were fighting but we just weren’t seeing it.
- People are just going to have to accept that fights such as Luffy vs Kizaru and Zoro vs Lucci will have additional fight scenes happening since there are moments in the manga where we see the two fight for a panel or two and then move away.

At the end of the series there will only be one power system: lineage factor. Haki probably comes from it. Devil fruits are literally only devices to manipulate lineage factor. The enemies from here on probably manipulated their DNA directly to becomes godlike and might not have the weaknesses devil fruit users do because they are "obsolete".

I think it’s both, especially with the explanation of green blood this episode. Also this is the animator and director’s vision. They’re artists so every episode is a canvas and you want things to connect.

I love that the double kick whip makes a sort of physical sense, except that he used his toon force to literally just PAUSE his foot for a little twinkle toes motion before letting the inertia take effect again.
I feel like what S-Shark was doing wasn't so much an awakening as combining Fishman Karate, which can manipulate water, with his devil fruit ability which lets him swim through anything LIKE it's water. That's an absolutely devastating combination. Imagine how hard a 1000 brick punch will hit something if it can treat the entirety of that something like it's water.

The shots when the kid and snowman are flying together are absolutely stunning, but that's what you get when you pour that much money time and talent into a half-hour special.

I'm telling y'all. Luffy's main issue now is that can't save people even with broken powers. It's almost impossible to cover 5 admiral level inmortals spread out attacking your crew.
What we're gonna get is the Gorosei holding some of the crew hostage in exchange for Luffy to stop resisting. But I also think the Revolutionary Army is going to use this Gorosei-less Marijois to kidnap Imu.

Am I the only one getting the impression that the next Stage in Luffy’s progression is to conquer the will of Nika? It seems to me in the manga right now that the Gorosei are in total control of their awakening, so is rob Lucci and Kaku, and if I did not know better, I would say that Luffy has almost no control over Nika, perhaps it takes a lot of Haki to control the awakening and that is why he wanes down so fast, but if their will was matching their intent, if they synchronize and Luffy gains control over Nika, then maybe he will be able to stay in that form for a whole lot longer, and it wouldn’t require using Haki at all to awaken? I am under the impression that Doflamingo could use his awakening without burning Haki. I just want to throw that out there, the next stage of Haki evolution will be conquering spirit, the hat Luffy will gain control of Nika, then he will be able to beat the Gorosei and Imu.

OP has never been the best when it comes to fights specially lately, maybe Oda is tired, but the anime is adding a lot to it which I like.
Kizaru vs Luffy was pretty disappointing in the manga specially since Kizaru is one character we have always wanted to see in a serious fight, but I bet it will be magnitudes better in the anime.
I'm probably the only one, but I liked this part better in the Manga. What can not be said about the previous episode(1100). There it was the opposite, and the confrontation was beautifully developed especially the Awaken transformations of both Luffy and Lucci.
