I feel like saying Oda hates Kidd is delusional. This chapter is Shanks hype. Showing how dominant he is against someone who could take down an Emperor.

I still think Kidd will be a monster in the future. I think he is going through his timeskip like Luffy did. Remember Kidd and most of the Worst Generation went straight into the New World, while the Strawhats trained.
I think this time Kidd and his crew will train their Haki and fruits and become a true Yonko caliber crew. The message at the end of that chapter was identical to when the Strawhats were defeated by Kuma and Kizaru. So I think the same will be applied to the Kidd pirates.

I just think the problem with that now is where the story is headed. All the heavy hitters are running wild, so it wouldn’t be enough time for Kidd to have an extended time away and then come back and still be relevant.

My prediction is that we will see what Shanks saw in his Vision with Kid destroying his entire fleet and being a real threat.
Not only would it be cool as hell, but it would also make it clear that Kid is a real threat and that Shanks saw it necessary to deal with him right away.

Shanks vs kid fight was a perfect depiction , especially after wano. Kid won against a complex opponent thru a complete team effort , absolutely not on his own, he doesn’t have acoc , he doesn’t have future sight , he doesn’t even have adv armament , he has absolutely NO tools to combat shanks who’s literally one of the strongest characters in the entire series. I need this new episode to play it exactly like the manga did. The damage he accumulated from a basic big mom punch with no haki , a slice in the stomach , etc, is nowhere close to shanks power output

I think they are direct counters to each other.
I find it really interesting how people list everything that Kidd has shown himself to be able to tank to illustrate how crazy Kidd being one shot by Divine Departure would be, yet instead of going with the much more logical and straightforward answer that his own Railgun exploding contributed to the attack, they instead use this to mesn that shanks is somehow hundreds of times stronger than everyone else in the series.

I would love to see one of the fights between Shanks and Mihawk, from fight to fight more people start appearing along Shanks, Mihawk says that he will never be able to defeat Shanks and Shanks says that he's the one that always needs to improve himself during battle to not lose to Mihawk, something like Goku and Vegeta.
For me, these are the differences between them, Mihawk is stronger, even so, Shanks has a power that he will never achieve.
They may only gas the future sight part to try and hype up kidd but they won't have kid actually fire an attack in real time.

After watching the anime. You can sort of see Kid was beat by his own best attack because Shanks took advantage of that being a more experienced fighter. Imagine holding a grenade in your hand and someone as fast as Shanks slices it open. You're doomed! Instead of blasting everyone else, he blasted himself to oblivion. His lack of speed and versatility killed him

Watching the animated version... I felt two things , 1st Shanks outclassed Kid with his Future sight. Kid's haki proficiency let him down big time. He couldn't react at all and Shanks didn't even give him any chance after seeing the future.
2nd , putting any guy other than Emperors , Admirals , Gorosei ( due to regen ) , Old Gen trio like Rayleigh/Garp/Sengoku in place of kid. I don't see a different result of the clash.

Just my thoughts and I could be wrong, I do not recall Kid getting attack by Big Mom or Kaido with a pure Conquerer Haki attack, which allowed him to take more blows and get back up. Compared to Shanks, attack which was a fully loaded Conquerer attack. It makes me think of when Luffy got KO'd by Kaido for the first time. He wasn't expecting that type of power and therefore got 1-hit KO.
I do believe Kid is not a Yonko level and he alone could not defeat Big Mom. Hack Kids team is mad weak. But this just shows you the power gap of Shanks and why is so respected by all.

Kid was going to hit Shanks fleet off guard and Shanks took it upon him to Blitz Kid. Shanks caught Kid off guard...whether it was on guard or off I think the result would have been the same a Kid L. I think Shanks would have have tested the waters with Kid if he didn't have to move in urgency of saving his weak members. I wish they showed Kid letting off his attack and Shanks cutting through it as a swordsman or overpowering it with a stronger sword slash. I'm impressed by Shank's Divine Departure but I think Roger's Divine Departure on Oden was better/stronger with less effort. Roger also sent Oden flying through a few trees whereas in Kid barely got sent flying. I still think Shanks spared Kid and hit him hard enough to knock him out but no deal a lethal blow. Shanks respects Kids growth, he deemed him worthy of giving him a adv coc attack to put him out of his misery.

Kidd isn't weak but he was delusional, he faced big mom at first, he was quietly escorted out, he went after shanks and lost his arm to ben beckman, he went after kaido he was captured and only got free when luffy and law came, and still took two against one to take down big mom in which law was the main boost to that fight, and somehow he went again by himself against another yonkou, kidd isn't weak, but he was shown once and for all where his level is.
